Not Even Rihanna’s Dancers Knew She Was Pregnant Ahead Of Her Super Bowl Performance

During her Super Bowl Halftime Show performance, Rihanna shocked the world with the reveal of her second pregnancy. It wasn’t just Super Bowl attendees and viewers at home who were caught by surprise, though; not even her fleet of dancers knew what was up before the big game.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, two of her dancers, Laila Hayes and Luhnyae Campbell, said that the cold weather during rehearsals allowed Rihanna to hide her baby bump. In fact, because they were too busy absolutely nailing their elaborate choreography, they didn’t even see it until they watched the televised replay later.

Hayes said, “We were all confused watching it during the real thing when she went up there and was showing her stomach. She wore the same outfit for one of the dress rehearsals but it was zippered up.” Cambell echoed, “I never saw a bump. Not even the day of. I had to rewatch the performance on YouTube to realize.”

The Loewe coat Rihanna wore onto the field — a nod to André Leon Talley — was large enough to cover up, but at the start of the performance, she opened it to reveal the custom molded breastplate that hugged her belly. Fans were left to speculate — and crack jokes — until a representative confirmed the pregnancy just a few minutes after the performance.

Rihanna on First Days of Motherhood: ‘You’re a Zombie for the Most Part'

Rihanna has hit the pages of British Vogue, and she killed every single one of those pictures. Fresh off her Super Bowl performance, Rihanna’s story highlights what her journey into motherhood is like, summarizing it as a “headf**k.”

“You don’t sleep. At all,” Rihanna said. “Not even if you wanted to.”

She added, “Man, you’re a zombie for the most part. You’re just going through the motions, and even then you’re so paranoid.”

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky have yet to reveal their son’s name. He was born in May 2022, and the delivery was an intimate affair.

“It was just us as parents and our baby,” Rihanna said.. “You’re like, ‘They trusted us to come home with this baby? This new life? With us? No doctors, no nurses, we’re just … going home?’”

Rihanna didn’t know that she was pregnant again during the interview, but she mentioned she was open to more children.

During her epic Super Bowl performance. A presumed baby bump poked through Rihanna’s red jumpsuit as she performed classics like “Umbrella,” “Diamonds,” and more. Many fans wondered if this was a baby reveal. Indeed it is.

A rep for Rihanna confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that she is pregnant. Speaking with NFL Network analyst Nate Burleson, Rihanna teased a surprise appearance during her performance. That appearance was her new baby.

She added, “It’d be ridiculous if it’s not this year. But I just want to have fun. I just want to make music and make videos.”

Timbaland Is Looking Forward to a Kanye West Super Bowl Performance

TimbalandTalksPainkillerAddiction,LosingPounds

Rihanna made history with this year’s Super Bowl, not only standing as the most-watched Super Bowl halftime show but also reeling in a whopping five million more viewers to her performance, than the actual game. Additionally, she broke the internet by revealing she’s pregnant with her second child, after giving birth to a baby boy with boyfriend A$AP Rocky.

While the world continues to rewatch the flawless set on Apple Music, Timbaland is already focused on future prospects.

Taking to his 3.9 million followers on Instagram, the super producer posted an Instagram story stating, “I was thinking… if Kanye was to do the Super Bowl, that almost would be like watching Motown 25. ‘Cause that boy is serious… don’t you ever forget it!

The caption for his Story post read: “Dat boy Ye doing the Super Bowl. 😱😱😱😱😱😱😱 they wouldn’t be ready.”

While most music lovers may be basking in the black excellence that Rihanna offered, it looks like Timbaland is excited about a possible Kanye West Super Bowl half-time show. He even brings up the reference that Kanye’s set might be comparable to Motown 25, a television special to commemorate 25 years of Motown legacy and contributions to the music industry. The show ran back in 1983, highlighting iconic moments such as Michael Jackson’s performance of “Billie Jean” (and his moonwalk dance!).

What Timbaland may not have been aware of is Kanye’s recent controversial Anti-semantic statements, which greatly upset the Jewish community. Of course, no one is perfect, and everyone is entitled to their own opinions. Still, Kanye’s public support for the Nazis cost him multiple brand deals, including separation from adidas and Gap.

Regardless, Kanye West fans would probably be all for a Ye performance at Super Bowl LVIII in Nevada next year… and it would certainly be a look for all parties involved. After Rihanna’s Super Bowl performance this year, her streams on Apple Music jumped 331% immediately following. The best part was Rih performing all her biggest hits, reminding folks that music is timeless and she hasn’t gone anywhere musically!

Timbaland Suggests Kanye West Should Perform At Super Bowl

In the last few years, the Super Bowl halftime show has embraced hip-hop and R&B artists more than ever. Rihanna’s performance on Sunday (Feb. 12) was just the latest portion of this trend. 2022 saw an incredible West Coast hip-hop tribute with Dr. Dre and friends. 2020 saw a spectacular solo performance by The Weeknd. 2019 saw Travis Scott and Big Boi of Outkast join Maroon 5 on stage. All of these dynamic artists on the big screen have shown the world how great these genres are.

These continuously marvelous performances have made fans consider what other rappers or singers they would want to see at the big game. Additionally, they have also made people ponder who else could have been added to these performances. For example, Jay-Z and Roc Nation helped Rihanna prepare for her performance, though Hov did not get brought out to perform. Along with Jay-Z, some fans also wished Kanye West could have joined Rih on stage. Rihanna performed songs that both Jay-Z and Ye were part of. These included “All of the Lights,” “Run This Town” and “Umbrella.” Regardless, she still did an impeccable job.

Timbaland Campaigns For Ye

Of these people hoping to see Ye at the Bowl was his longtime friend and collaborator Timbaland. Timbaland has helped produce Ye hits like “Good Life” and “Stronger,” as well as many of JESUS IS KING‘s songs. This is likely why he wants to see Ye have his own set at the Super Bowl someday. In a recent Instagram video, he explains his reasoning. “Yo I was thinking, if Kanye was to do the Super Bowl, that almost would be like watching Motown 25,” he said. “Cause that boy is serious. Don’t you ever forget it.” Additionally, Timbaland captioned his video with: “Dat boy ye doing the Super Bowl. They wouldn’t be ready.”

It would probably not be very likely that Ye would do a Super Bowl anytime soon. Unfortunately for Timbaland, his recent comments regarding the Jewish community would probably keep him from this stage. But, that does not mean that his impact is still not being felt. Some fans noticed that Rihanna’s outfit for her performance heavily resembled Kanye’s from one of the Donda listening parties. So, while Ye likely won’t hit the Super Bowl stage soon, his songs and aura are still felt.

In his latest video, Blueface dubs over audio implying Rock is a “whore” who knows “nothing about loyalty.” Rock had shared the photo with Ross on her Instagram Story, earlier this week. She says that it was an innocent photo they took while running into each other at the game.

The couple, who are seemingly preparing to welcome their first child, has been in an infamously tumultuous relationship since 2020. Over the years, there have been various allegations of infidelity, domestic disputes, legal troubles, and much more. The two also star in their own reality TV series, Blueface & Chrisean: Crazy in Love.

Blueface’s Video

Rihanna Explains Agreeing To Super Bowl After Rejecting Invitation For Kaepernick

Her Super Bowl halftime performance shocked fans in more ways than one, and Rihanna is still reeling from the attention. It was then that the singer revealed she was pregnant with her second child, but that wasn’t the only thing that surprised fans. Years ago, Rihanna turned down the NFL’s invitation to perform at the Super Bowl in solidarity with Colin Kaepernick. The former professional football star was ensnarled in controversy for taking a knee during the National Anthem. The pushback caused several artists to issue a boycott of sorts, including Rihanna.

However, the hitmaker looks to have had a change of heart. She graced the Super Bowl stage and delivered almost 15 minutes of her classic records, and in an interview with British Vogue, Rihanna explained why she decided to perform. Years ago, she said she didn’t want to “be a sellout,” but now, representation was important. “There’s still a lot of mending to be done in my eyes,” she said.

“But it’s powerful to break those doors, and have representation at such a high, high level and a consistent level,” Rihanna continued. “Two Super Bowls back-to-back, you know, representing the urban community, globally. It is powerful. It sends a really strong message. Of course, raising a young Black man is one of the scariest responsibilities in life. You’re like, ‘What am I leaving my kids to? This is the planet they’re gonna be living on?’ All of those things really start to hit differently.”

“It’s this knowing that you can do anything, even things that seem the craziest, like, ‘I’m going to say yes to the Super Bowl in the middle of postpartum?’” she further added. “What the heck am I thinking? But you’re geeked on a challenge like that because you know what your body just did. You feel this sense of ‘Nothing is impossible.’” When Rihanna accepted the invitation to perform, she wasn’t pregnant with her second child. Still, she decided to continue even after learning she was expecting.

“It was almost like an out-of-body experience,” she says of the day it was announced. “I have not been on stage in seven years. Seven years! From zero to Super Bowl? That’s mental.”

Tom Brady Under Fire Over Janet Jackson Wardrobe Malfunction Comments

Tom Brady has played in a lot of Super Bowls throughout his historic career. In fact, he has played in a grand total of 10 of them. Overall, he has won seven, which is an incredible record. Many of his Super Bowl appearances have been historic, for many reasons. His second Super Bowl was particularly historic, although not for the best reasons. That is because Janet Jackson had a wardrobe malfunction during the halftime show with Justin Timberlake. Subsequently, Jackson received a ton of backlash while Timberlake received nothing. As for Brady, his Patriots went on to win against the Carolina Panthers.

During the most recent episode of his Let’s Go podcast, Brady was asked about the Jackson moment. Although the whole world saw it take place, Brady really only found out about it after the game. However, he acknowledges just how big of a moment it was. That said, Brady doesn’t seem to think of it from Jackson’s perspective. In his eyes, this was simply just a huge moment for the NFL.

Tom Brady Speaks

“It took a while for us to figure out exactly what had gone on,” Brady said. “I think in the end, it was probably a good thing for the NFL because everyone got to talk about it, and it was just more publicity and more publicity for halftime shows. Is any publicity bad publicity? That’s what they say, so, who knows?” Following these comments, Brady was immediately criticized on Twitter for his take. After all, these remarks came across as misinformed given everything Jackson went through. “Janet Jackson faced public humiliation and outright misogynoir resulting in her getting blacklisted by the former CEO of CBS, but Tom Brady thinks all of that was ok because all publicity is good publicity,” one user noted.

In the other responses below, you could tell that people were upset with what Brady had to say. To this day, Janet Jackson is still dealing with the fallout from that halftime show. Overall, it was very traumatic for her, and fans wish Brady had a bit more sensitivity toward that. Whether or not he will respond to this controversy, remains to be seen.

Rihanna Explained What Pushed Her To Do The Super Bowl Halftime Show After Previously Rejecting It

Rihanna, ASAP Rocky, and their first child have graced the new cover of British Vogue, complete with an interview that sheds light on how the singer’s doing.

While she just headlined the Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show over the past weekend, Rihanna faced some initial pushback. She had been previously critical of the organization for its treatment of Colin Kaepernick and turned down a performance opportunity in 2018.

“So what changed? There’s still a lot of mending to be done in my eyes, but it’s powerful to break those doors, and have representation at such a high, high level and a consistent level,” Rihanna explained about her decision to finally perform. “Two Super Bowls back-to-back, you know, representing the urban community, globally. It is powerful. It sends a really strong message.”

“Of course, raising a young Black man is one of the scariest responsibilities in life,” she added. “You’re like, ‘What am I leaving my kids to? This is the planet they’re gonna be living on?’ All of those things really start to hit differently.”

Rihanna admitted that she was approached again to headline shortly before the official announcement but waited to give them a direct answer.

“It’s this knowing that you can do anything, even things that seem the craziest, like, ‘I’m going to say yes to the Super Bowl in the middle of postpartum?’” Rihanna described, and, as we now know, she used the event to reveal her second pregnancy. “What the heck am I thinking? But you’re geeked on a challenge like that because you know what your body just did. You feel this sense of ‘Nothing is impossible.’ It was almost like an out-of-body experience. I have not been on stage in seven years. Seven years! From zero to Super Bowl? That’s mental.”
