The 2024 Met Gala brought about countless head-turning celebrity looks, but not all of them were well-received by fans. This year’s theme was “The Garden of Time,” a 1962 short story by J.G. Ballard. Of course, the carpet was flooded with florals, though some stars opted for a less obvious approach. Lizzo, for example, went as a tree.

The “Juice” performer stunned in a nude gown by Paris-based label Weinsanto, complete with leaf-like pops of pink, purple, and gold. Her look also featured a bold headpiece, which is arguably the most controversial element of the look. Its unique silhouette is also a hot topic of debate, as it seemed to have made her journey across the carpet noticeably difficult.

While some social media users are now comparing Lizzo to Groot, others think her headpiece more closely resembled a cone that a dog would wear home from the vet. Several supporters are showing love to the “Good As Hell” artist for the fun fit, and arguing that it was perfectly on-theme.

Lizzo took to social media last night to share some photos from the evening, showing off the awe-inspiring dress and accompanying headpiece. “IF IM NOT IN UR BEST DRESSED UR FATPHOBIC,” she joked in her caption. “Girl, this was not it. Leave it to Cardi B to be among the most talked-about and eye-popping fits at the Met Gala last night (Monday, May 6). Moreover, she wore a black gown with gothic leanings and a large headdress to match, along with diamond and emerald jewelry, but the real talking point here was the skirt, which spread out to create a pretty big black flower around her feet. In fact, the toxic-men-blaster needed up to nine assistants to be able to fan out the dress beneath her. “I’m that b***h and you b***hes could never,” she told a red carpet interviewer when she was down to seven assistants instead of nine, speaking on how that help made her feel. “Before y’all consider comparing yourself to me, b***h.”

Elsewhere during that conversation, Cardi B joked about the sheer weight of her dress and pointed out that she could detach the skirt so she could dance. For her afterparty that she hosted later that night, though, she instead donned a different red dress that was much more sleek, and one that she rocked all by herself. However, this afterparty was also interesting for other reasons, such as the 31-year-old popping out with her rumored on-and-off-again partner, Offset. Their relationship status is a bit unclear at the moment, but with this and a Knicks basketball game appearance recently, it appears as though things are at least very amicable.

But she might not have been able to avoid more smoke in the process, as fans speculated that JT dissed her on her new single, “OKAY.” “She ate crab legs, now her whole tooth missing,” she spits on her verse. “Cheap a** veneers, you stay talking s**t / Put a marker to this b***h, she’s so counterfeit.” While we don’t know whether this was a direct shot or not, it’s not something we expect to find out anytime soon.

Based on their posts, they look to have done some shoe shopping, stopped for a lunch date at McDonalds, and more. Gvasalia wore a simple white T-shirt with an oversized jacket and pants.

In the chair this time is Harlem rapper and actor Dave East, who took to his custom sneaker like a kid on Christmas.

East is known for his widely varied career — including a legendary run of mixtapes that is longer than most rapper’s whole careers, all released before his debut album — and impeccable sense of style, so Katty and Just had quite a challenge for themselves going into this one. Luckily, the team knocked it out of the park, gifting East a sneaker inspired by Nike’s game-changing multi-layered “What The Dunk?”

Like the What The Dunk, this custom sneaker features a wild-teetering-toward-chaotic mix of panels and colors. But unlike the original, this one tells the deeply personal story of Dave East. From panel to panel, East’s story unfolds like a comic book, touching on his b-ball origins, fallen friends, and entrepreneurial pursuits. We’ll hold off on divulging too many details here, but if you’re looking for a teaser here it is: East talks briefly about his project with Snoop, his relationship with the late Nipsey Hussle, his decision to portray Method Man in Wu-Tang: An American Saga, and which of his albums is the most personal to him.

Lil Tjay has wasted very little time in getting back to his life’s exploits following his recent arrest in Miami… but just in case, he’s got some new watches to keep track. Moreover, you may have already heard that authorities arrested him on a warrant at a Miami airport on Tuesday (April 30), which just so happened to be his 23rd birthday. After reportedly leaving on a $500 bond, the Bronx rapper got right back to business and invited Benny “The Jeweler” Nisanov on a private jet to but $500K in watches from him. “@liltjay SAID HE WANNA SPEND 500K FOR HIS BDAY!!…” The Jeweler captioned an IG post of them on their flight around Thursday (May 2). “23 YEARS YOUNG THIS HOW WE COMIN. RICHARD MILLE WHITE @bubbawatson AND SECOND #5980 BUSS DOWN PATEK WE OUTSIDE !!”

Furthermore, Lil Tjay had already flexed on the authorities by showing off his private jet after police released him from custody, so this is just adding onto all that. However, despite all this aftermath that he was able to document, it’s still very unclear what happened with this arrest in the first place. Pretty much the only piece of tangible information out there was that authorities reportedly had a warrant. Little else emerged about this incident since, and it’s unclear whether there will be any more info given past legal issues.

Lil Tjay & Benny “The Jeweler” Show Off $500K In Watches

Speaking of which, Lil Tjay has faced a couple of these throughout his career, including a January 2023 arrest in New York City due to gun possession. He was infamously supposed to record a music video with Ice Spice at the time. Later that year, NYPD also detained the now-23-year-old briefly on alleged and additional charges of reckless endangerment and obstructing governmental administration. 2024’s been much more low-key for him apart from this arrest, bolstered mostly by singles like “Good Life.”

Meanwhile, speaking of Ice Spice, there are rumors currently floating around that she cheated on her boyfriend and producer RiotUSA with Lil Tjay. Taking to Instagram today, Drake dropped off a visual in collaboration with L’Art De L’Automobile. In this visual, you say the character Mr. Do Road, who is seemingly in some sort of wild chase. Overall, the visuals and the music are cool and do a good job of promoting the collaboration. The collaboration is dropping today, with the SNKRS App delivering some of the goods on Friday, April 26th. Once again, it is a demonstration of just how big NOCTA has gotten.

“The stigma and misconception is that people that wear wigs don’t have long and healthy hair,” Beyoncé expressed in the voice-over of the clip below. “That’s some bulls**t, ’cause it ain’t nobody business. I’ll get back to my hair. I like to blow-dry my hair on medium heat, ’cause I try to stay away from as much heat as possible, and using an old-school pressing comb. I’ve chosen color over perms or relaxers. I’ve been using these products, and my hair has never grown so long, never been so moisturized.

Usher paired the controversial piece with a bright blue sweater and a denim jacket, though it’s tough to focus on anything but the hat. It’s speculated to be from MMY (Maison Mihara Yasuhiro), though this is unconfirmed. While the beige version of the hat is sold out across various sites, a black version is currently going for up to $300.
