Saweetie Tears Up Recalling Her Come-Up Before Making It In Hip-Hop: Watch

Almost every person on the planet knows that making it in the music industry is slim to none. However, if you look a certain way, some people are automatically going to assume that were set up for success. It seems that stigma gets placed on women especially from trolls and haters online. Unfortunately, the saying “sex sells” is quite accurate, at least in the United States. It is probably safe to assume that Saweetie puts up with people coming after her throughout her now established career.

But those rumors should be shut down now, especially after Saweetie got real about her come-up. The hitmaker joined the Brown Bag Mornings show on Power 106 to discuss her rough situation. In the first clip below (second slide), Host Letty Peniche gave credence to Saweetie’s struggles, mentioning how she was living out of her car. The callback to those times got Saweetie pretty emotional.

The “NANi” creator admitted that she was too prideful to tell her loved ones her couch-to-couch living scenario. Her friends were more than accommodating, offering her to live with them. However, she did not want to be a burden. Saweetie was able to make light during the interview saying that when it was time to party with them, she did not have to go home. Eventually, she built up enough money to rent a room and that is roughly the time she began to write “ICY GIRL.” On it she raps, “Looking in the mirror, I thank God for what I’m ’bout to be.” Saweetie told the interviewers that lyric made it in the song because she was uncomfortable lying about where she was in life. “I can’t even pop s***,” she said. Now, she can and we are so proud of her for coming so far!

What are your thoughts on Saweetie getting emotional about her come-up in the music industry? Is she one of the best female MC’s we have right now, why or why not? What songs are your favorites from her and why? Do you think we will get her big project sometime this summer? Kevin Durant Blasts Fat Joe For Claiming NBA Star “Almost Got Jumped” After Iconic Rucker Park Game

When you think of legendary moments in professional sports, let alone the NBA, what comes to mind? For many fans of the game, Kevin Durant’s unreal performance at the hallowed Rucker Park near Harlem, New York is one of them. The story goes that he dropped 66 points, which led his team to an unforgettable 99-93 victory. It went down during the 2011 lockout season and it will forever go down as one of the most unstoppable games that a professional has ever put on. The reason it is making waves nearly 13 years later is due to a retelling of the story by New York rap legend Fat Joe.

The longtime New York Knicks fan was a guest on Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart’s podcast, Roomates Show, according to HipHopDX. The current Knicks’ stars let him have the floor and Fat Joe wound up revealing a never before heard part of that game. “Kevin Durant scored like 82 points in the third quarter. He don’t like me telling this story. They chased him out the Rucker, like they wanted to beat him up. He whipped their a** so bad that they wanted to literally beat him up out there,” Joe said.

However, KD almost immediately called out his supposed bluff on X, replying to the clip, “Another podcast lie. It was nothing but respect and love out there that night, didn’t feel unsafe for one second.” Joe stood his ground though, hilariously taunting him back, “I was there he knows I’m not lying 62 points in 3 quarters why was the game stopped it’s all love all i did was big him up ‘GREATEST STORY TELLER IN THE GAME.’” Whoever’s side you believe, we are just happy this moment exists in basketball lore.

What are your thoughts on Kevin Durant saying Fat Joe lied about the fight at Rucker Park? Who do you believe more and why? Is this one of the greatest basketball moments in the history of the sport? Kid Cudi Details The Origin Of Lupe Fiasco Beef: “I Sensed Something In The Universe”

According to Zane Lowe, this version of Kid Cudi is “a reenergized Cudi.” That comes from the legendary interviewer’s latest sit-down with Cleveland’s very own Mr. Rager. The 39-year-old multi-talent just dropped his 11th project INSANO on January 12. It looks to be another top 10-worthy release on the Billboard Hot 200 with nearly 50,000 copies sold. While the LP was the main reason for Lowe to chat with Cudi. However, there was another interesting nugget that the two spoke about. The hitmaker revealed how he and Lupe Fiasco’s dislike for one another started.

HipHopDX highlighted that it all began in 2008. Before Cudi got his music career going, he was an employee at the BAPE store in New York. Lupe Fiasco happened to be shopping there one day and his co-workers were juiced to see him. The opposite could be said about Cudi. “[I] Stayed down the stairs, waited until he left. [My colleagues] were like, ‘What you down here for?’” He explained, “‘Yo bro, if I get famous one day, I don’t ever want this n**** saying like, ‘He sold me clothes. You my son!’ We can’t have that!’”

Kid Cudi Says It Began At His BAPE Store Gig

Sure enough, his hunch was correct. Even though Cudi avoided that interaction, Lupe still has it out for him. “I was right, I was onto something. I sensed something in the universe.” Things began to escalate in 2014 when they went back and forth on Twitter over Lupe charging fans $500 for a personalized verse. Cudi then called that out for seeming “a bit sketch,” according to HipHopDX. If you would like to fast-forward to that portion of the interview, start watching around the 34:50 mark.

What are your thoughts on Kid Cudi’s interview with Zane Lowe and the conversation about the beef with Lupe Fiasco? Do you think they will ever have mutual respect for one another? Diddy Remembers What Helped Him Become A Billionaire: “I Think About It Every Day”

Diddy is in rare air in the hip-hop industry. He is one of just a handful of rappers to achieve reaching billionaire status. The rapper and music mogul accomplished this feat back in late October of 2022. This really cements him as one of the greatest visionaries in the genre. Diddy was able to do this through tons of different business avenues. Those include his Bad Boys record label, his joint efforts in the alcohol business, his alkaline water line, and plenty of others. He touched on this in a recent Jimmy Kimmel Live! interview.

In addition to his wealth, the rapper talked about a hilarious but serious experience with a crazy psychedelic. He also recalled some crazy things he did as a kid to make any sort of money he could. “Look you have to understand me, I’m self-made. I come from just putting two quarters together, $2 together, I was a paperboy when I was 12.” He continues, “Wasn’t even allowed to be a paperboy, I was running a paperboy scam, you know what I’m saying, so I was delivering papers for paperboys and I was splitting the money with them.”

On top of that, Diddy was also cleaning bathrooms in New York during the heatwaves, as well as painting homes. All of this he says was very fulfilling. “Work hard, you get what you deserve, and I’m blessed to have had people support me.” Because of this, he always thinks about how far he has come. “I think about it every day.” He should and it cool to see him to continue to win every day.

Ice Cube Responds After Tony Yayo Puts The Notorious B.I.G. Above Him As A Storyteller

Ice Cube has responded after Tony Yayo argued that The Notorious B.I.G. is a better storyteller than him during an appearance on Drink Champs. Speaking with DJ Whoo Kid on Tuesday, the N.W.A. rapper admitted that everyone has their own opinion and Biggie is also great.

“It’s subjective,” Cube said. “Everybody got they favorites. I put my stories up against anybody and I have a bigger sample size. But at the end of the day, everybody is going to have their different opinion. I love Biggie, I’m a fan of Biggie.”

Cube further said: “I’ve wrote records for Eazy and N.W.A. And look, when we talking about storytelling, are we talking about rhyming? Because I write movies too, so I’m a hell of a storyteller. I can tell a damn story. So are we just talking about rap? That’s only a portion of what I do. Look, to be in that conversation, I’m winning already.”

As for Yayo’s original comments, the G-Unit rapper was responding to DJ EFN picking Cube in the conversation. The Drink Champs host cited Cube’s 1991 diss record, “No Vaseline” from Death Certificate as being better than Biggie’s 1997 track, “N****s Bleed,” off of Life After Death. Yayo vehemently disagreed with the opinion. “This is why I hate this industry shit,” Yayo said. “So you telling me Ice Cube is a better storyteller than Biggie? You fucking buggin! You lost your fucking mind! Ice Cube is better than Biggie as a storyteller? You fucking buggin n***a! You lost your fucking mind!”

Ice Cube Responds To Tony Yayo

Elsewhere in the interview, Cube discussed the success of his BIG 3 basketball league and the NBA’s backlash to its rise. Check out the full conversation with DJ Whoo Kid above.
