Former NFL 1st round pick D.J. Hayden has died at the age of 33 after being involved in a car crash in Houston, early Saturday morning, according to the Houston Chronicle. He was among six people to die in the incident, which occurred when a driver ran a red light at the cross-section of Fannin Street and Pierce Street around 2:00 AM.
The Oakland Raiders drafted D.J. Hayden with the 12th overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. After spending four seasons with the team, he played for the Detroit Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Washington Football Team. “The Raiders Family is mourning the tragic loss of former cornerback D.J. Hayden,” the team said in a statement. “The Raiders’ first-round draft pick out of the University of Houston in 2013, D.J. overcame a heart injury sustained in a college practice to play nine years in the NFL, including his first four with the Silver and Black. D.J.’s courage, perseverance, and dedication to his teammates will be fondly remembered by everyone who knew him. The prayers of the entire Raider Nation are with D.J.’s loved ones at this time.”

The 2023 League of Legends World Championships, better known as Worlds 2023, represents a major change for the long-running tournament. Ahead of the 2023 pro season, Riot Games announced that major format changes would be coming to the season-ending tournament. Since 2017, the tournament has operated a play-in stage, a group stage, and a knockout stage.
Starting in 2023, the scope of the play-in stage will be reduced and modified. Firstly, the play-in will no longer feature teams from South Korea or China. Furthermore, a maximum of one team from Europe or North America will be present. The last of the eight teams to qualify for the play-in stage will be determined by a preliminary qualification tournament.

In a ceremony at her stepfather’s church in Texas, O’Neal chose Florida over seven other schools, including her father’s alma mater, LSU. “I went on the Florida visit, and I had a feeling that’s where I belonged. And that I was going to be most successful if I went to go play at Florida. I felt like I connected with Coach Kelly more than I connected with any of the other schools that recruited me. She really cares about me not just on the court but off the court. That’s important for me,” O’Neal said.
The #33 recruit in the 2024 class, O’Neal joins a promising Gators class that also includes #16 recruit Alivia McGill, the highest-ranked recruit Florida has ever landed in women’s basketball. I was pressuring myself to make a decision, but I learned I had to be patient. And I did make this decision on my own,” she said.

Despite this brief bit of excitement, it’s been a pretty rough year for Pippen. In June, a judge ruled that Larsa is entitled to 50% of Scottie’s NBA pension fund. Signed on June 16, the court order ruled that part of the divorce settlement includes half of the account’s total between when they married (1997) and when they formally separated (November 2016).
