Jhené Aiko Reminds How Stunning Her Voice Is On “Sun/Son”

Jhené Aiko is an artist who takes time in between each release. It is a double-edged sword because she is ultra-talented and we always want to hear her more often. The 35-year-old soulful balladeer has not dropped a full-length in nearly four years. Her last effort was Chilombo, a project that featured the likes of H.E.R., Ab-Soul, Nas, Ty Dolla $ign, and more.

Even on the single front, Jhené has remained fairly quiet. The last release came in May with “alive & well (gratitude).” Then, about a month and a half before that was “calm & patient.” Hopefully, those two outputs last year are signs of a project coming in 2024. We say that because Jhené is back to start of the year with a bang.

Waited awhile, don’t know where you was (Where you was)
I prayed out loud and then there you were
Made for the veil, you’re the way, the one (Way, the one)
No doubt about it, you charge me up, you chargе me up (Sun son, sun son)

Lil Tjay “Told Ya” He Would Make It One Day On New Single

There are rappers who like to push their boundaries and others who like to stay in the familiar lane. Both approaches have their pros and cons, that is obvious. If an artist likes to continue to build on their existing sound and improve on it, that is more than respectable. However, some can come across content, and for listeners that can get stale. Lil Tjay is a talented guy, no doubt about it.

But, this new single “Told Ya” feels too familiar. The message and lyrics are solid as usual. On the production side, it sounds agreeable. However, it is something you will hear in a lot of rap songs today. Again, it is not bad by any means. It is just okay at the end of the day for us.

Hats off to the singer for creating something so uplifting. You’ve truly showcased your skills and produced something truly remarkable.” It is good to see the support for Tjay. We wish him success moving forward. Go stream “Told Ya” now.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand-new single, “Told Ya,” by Lil Tjay? Is this the best track that he has come out with so far in recent memory, why or why not? Lil Nas X Is Going “Vi-iral” With “J CHRIST” Single & Music Video

Lil Nas X, whether you love him or despise him, knows how to stir up chatter. In addition to that, he is someone you can bet the house on to create a worldwide banger. He accomplished both of those things with his latest single, “J CHRIST.” This track comes off the heels of tons of controversy.

From Kai Cenat calling him out during a recent live stream, to Nas X forging a former Liberty University President’s signature, he has everyone up in arms. The reasoning for this “Christian awakening” was because of some comments he made last year. On his social media accounts, he has been hyping up this as a dedication to Jesus Christ. “MY NEW SINGLE IS DEDICATED TO THE MAN WHO HAD THE GREATEST COMEBACK OF ALL TIME!”

Listen To “J CHRIST” By Lil Nas X

There is a slight reference to the man above. “Back-back-back up out the gravesite / B****, I’m back like J Christ.” But, that is as far as Nas X takes it with gospel inspiration. However, there is an underlying theme about Jesus rising from the dead after he died on the cross. He is essentially comparing his return to music in that way. Nas X felt like he was “blackballed” throughout 2023 for speaking on his holy journey. The music video is racking up the views, which is no surprise. In its first 10 hours, the song has been played over 1.3 million times.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand-new single, “J CHRIST,” by Lil Nas X? Is this the best single he has ever put out, why or why not? When do you think he will come out with his next album? How do you feel about the visuals that accompany the track? What is the best aspect of the song? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. Jada Kingdom Keeps The Momentum Rolling With “What’s Up (Big Buddy)”

We can almost guarantee that no one saw Jada Kingdom having as big of a day as this. That is no slight to the Jamaican dancehall artist, though. She is ultra-talented in many ways. But, this out-of-nowhere beef with Stefflon Don has put her in the spotlight rapidly. This war of words with the UK dancehall mainstay has an unknown origin. But, some were considering that it could have something to do with their ex-boyfriend, Burna Boy. Jada and Stefflon both had their hands on him, but that is a fairly loose reason.

Jada Kingdom is now dating Pardison Fontaine and seems happy with the relationship so far. As we talked about earlier today, Stefflon got the beef started with her “Dat A Dat” single. Then, Jada followed up not too long after with “London Bed.” It seems she is feeling uber-confident because she is back with her second track of the day.

Eem Triplin’s Signature Moody Tone Shines Through On “Stephanie”

Moody hip-hop is not a subgenre. But, if there is someone who could turn it into one, Eem Triplin could be one. The Johnstown, Pennsylvania rapper possesses a subdued and raspy flow that adds a unique element. Here at HNHH, we do not have much on file for the 22-year-old.

The last time we spoke about his music was in July of last year. Eem came through with his debut project, STILL PRETTY. It was a seven-song solo offering with his trademark style. He likes to dive into songs about relationships and that is what he is doing on his newest single.

The track is called “stephanie,” and features low-key production from Sauron and Imitation Therapy. Eem and his beatmakers bring in some piano keys and hypnotic background vocals. On this track, he is thinking back on a recent relationship that was wrecked by infidelity. Triplin displays growth and discusses how he can move on from it.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand-new single, “stephanie,” by Eem Triplin? Is this his best single in the past year or so, why or why not? Do you think he is poised for a bigger 2024 compared to last year? What tracks of his do you keep in your rotation? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. Bryson Tiller Flows Effortlessly On New Soundcloud Single “Lost Intro”

One of the most beloved figures within the R&B space has to be Bryson Tiller. People who keep a closer eye on music know how the Louisville, Kentucky native got his start. It was an incredible one at that. In 2015 God Tiller came through with T R A P S O U L. The project was a great mixture of soulful and sexy R&B and impressive rapping. Bryson’s ability to spit may be his most underrated skill.

Now, he might not feel that way, because the 31-year-old artist just came through with a new Soundcloud exclusive track. “Lost Intro” features fantastic rhyming and breath control across the 1:41 runtime. The instrumental is fairly skeletal with rapid-fire hi-hats and a low-key drum pattern. Bryson Tiller has been active on the Soundcloud platform as of late. Back in August, he came through with SLUM TILLER VOL. 1 & 2, which was also a nice release for him.

It appears Bryson will continue to provide more and more material in the future. This “Lost Intro” is kicking off a weekly upload experiment that Bryson is going to try. He calls it “Tiller Tuesdays” and fans can expect a new song at midnight ET. We are certainly here for it. But, hopefully, we do get an album in the near future. His last true project was 2020’s A N N I V E R S A R Y.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand-new single, “Lost Intro,” by Bryson Tiller? Do you think it is a good idea for him to drop a new track every Tuesday? Is he one of the more underrated R&B artists of the last 10 years? Should this weekly upload of tracks eventually land on other DSPs? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. Veeze Works With Gallery Provence For New Single “WORST”

The city of Detroit is continuing to produce some hot new talent with Veeze being one of them. Last year was one to remember for the 29-year-old sensation. His album Ganger brought him more mainstream attention than ever before. While his mumbly and lackadaisical style is not for everyone, he is certainly striking a chord with enough listeners. We came out with a list of five artists who we feel deserve more attention in 2024. Unfortunately, we did not include Veeze.

However, the reasoning for that was because we felt he was already pretty popular and too obvious of a pick. If there was an honorable mention part of the top five, he would be on there without a doubt. Now that the new year is here, Veeze is looking to get things off to a strong start. To do that he is teaming up with music video creators, Gallery Provence, for “WORST.”

To find the song on streaming you have to go to Gallery’s accounts to find it. Or, you can head over to YouTube and check out the colorful claymation-like music video for it too. Gallery has also done work with Tony Shhnow, Ralfy the Plug, and a bunch of other underground rappers. Veeze is looking to firmly cement himself in the rap game, so you better pay attention.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand-new single, “WORST,” by Veeze? Do you think the Detroit rapper will be able to outdo his last album Ganger in 2024? Does this song sound better than anything off of the previous record? Who would you like to see him work with this year and why? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. BLP KOSHER Starts Off The New Year With A “Dreidel Bop”

During our Advent Calendar for the Christmas season, we came out with a listicle about five artists you should be paying closer attention to. We went with artists that have some semblance of a fan base but have not fully blown up. One of those artists we included was BLP KOSHER. The Jewish rapper hailing from Broward County, Florida began to come on strong in the latter half of 2023.

Bars Mitzvah, his second project, dropped back in early August and it became a sensation. Tracks like “Special K,” “The Nac 3,” “Wicked Miracle,” and more were some prime examples of the hits he had on it. Then, a couple of months later, he and the cloud rap icon from Sweden, Yung Lean, got together for “Violent Lullaby.”

It saw him take a more melodic approach, something that KOSHER is not accustomed to doing. It left a lasting impression on us heading into this year and it is a reason why we think he is ready to take the next step. He is starting off 2024 with the lead single to his rumored next album, Scarecrow. “Dreidel Bop” sticks to the current formula that got fans engaged in his previous works. The song is not reinventing the wheel, but it does its job as a solid banger.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand-new single, “Dreidel Bop,” by BLP KOSHER? Do you agree with us that he is going to be someone who blows up in 2024? What was your favorite song of his in 2023 and why? Will his upcoming album be his best one to date? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. Fredo Bang Switches It Up On “Come Thru”

Baton Rouge, Louisiana is where Fredo Bang calls home. The rapper has been dropping music since the late 2010s decade. If we being specific, 2016 is when he jumpstarted his career. For the majority of his time in the rap game, Fredo is mostly known for his care-free and easy-going trap-tinged bangers.

That has been especially true over the past few months. Tracks like the uber-confident “Bang Man” are a prime example of that formula. In addition, his most recent works have been revealing his sexual desires. There are constant jokes that Fredo is the horniest rapper out there. In fact, he has been trying to get with GloRilla and Coi Leray as of late.

Listen To “Come Thru” By Fredo Bang

While Fredo’s tracks are fun, repeating something can get stale. That is why it is a welcome sight to see him get more serious on this new single. “Come Thru” sounds like it would be a sexually driven track. However, that could not be further from the truth. Fredo gets extremely violent and threatening throughout another one of his signature piano-backed instrumentals. You can check out the song with the YouTube link above.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand-new single, “Come Thru,” by Fredo Bang? Do you think he should go more into the interpersonal tracks, why or why not? Should he come out with an album sometime this year after hearing this? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. 24kGoldn Digs Into His Personal Battles On “Good Intentions”

24kGoldn is one of those rappers who had a handful of hits and began to tail off a bit. Of course, he is most known for his songs “Mood” with iann dior, and his feature on Clean Bandit and Mabel’s “Tick Tock.” Since 2021 he has not dropped an album either. El Dorado was the record that put him on the map.

However, he really has not been able to capitalize on the momentum in many people’s eyes. That might be able to change though. The California multi-talent has just come out with a brand-new single. It is called “Good Intentions” and it is available everywhere.

While it is not anything new for 24k to delve into his personal life, it is still an engaging listen. Bars include, “If I’m bein’ honest, I’ve been goin’ through a rut, uh / Victim of my selfishness, it’s finally catchin’ up, uh.” He even recognizes that it has been a minute since he has seen real success, which makes this a really vulnerable moment. “Plaques on every wall, but they from 2021 / Take a picture, smoke a Swisher, reminisce on how it was, uh.” The production is also a welcome addition with a simple but effective drum pattern that allows for 24k to find a nice pocket.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand-new single, “Good Intentions,” by 24kGoldn? Is this the best song you have heard from him in a while?
