Omar Apollo Is Still Hooked On A Past Relationship On “Spite”

Omar Apollo is one of the more unsung talents in the alternative space. He has plenty of high-prolife features for artists such as Kali Uchis, Daniel Caesar, Joji, and more. Apollo also dabbles in Latin music, which can be credited to his Mexican parents. All in all, he is an extremely versatile talent that deserves more recognition for his work. Omar Apollo is back to prove his skillset again with “Spite.”

This is his first offering of 2024 as a whole so far. He did come through in October with a four-track EP called Live For Me. It featured the lead single “Ice Slippin,” and most of the songs were moodier in tone and production. With “Spite” though, Omar brings some more lively and upbeat production courtesy of a guitar and light drums. On this record, he is singing about a relationship that has him strangled.

It has been just about two years since that happened. For now, run up “Spite” and its music video above.

41 Throws A “Birthday” Bash On Their New Single

41 have been one of the main voices out of the Brooklyn drill scene for a few months now. The trio consisting of Kyle Richh, Jenn Carter and TaTa are gaining more and more notoriety by the day it seems. They famously received a co-sign from Travis Scott as well as another prominent voice in their respective subgenre, Fivio Foreign. Today, 41 is back to bring one heck of party banger called “Birthday.”

MCVertt also gives the group another beat here, and it is slightly different from the traditional drill formula. There are some subtle horn sections thrown in to help break up the constant flow of 808s and bass. Everyone from 41 brings their unique deliveries to “Birthday,” which is something you can always count on from them. Another thing that will never be left out of a track from them are their particular themes of partying, women, and violence.

That is where their music might falter for some. Especially when drill music has its limitations when it comes to production, talking about the same things over and over again will also lead to it becoming stale ever faster. But if 41’s formula is not broke, which it appears to not be, keep it trucking. Be sure to check out “Birthday” and its music video above.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single, “Birthday,” by 41? Is this the best track they have dropped as of late, why or why not? What is your favorite element of the track and why? Do you think they have a new album in the works for 2024? Who had the stronger performance on the track? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding 41. Cousin Stizz Keeps It Real With “On The Muscle”

Most people might know Cousin Stizz for his party banger “Perfect” with the City Girls and its remix featuring Doja Cat and BIA. However, the Boston, Massachusetts MC is showing that he has stories to tell. “On The Muscle,” may be one of Cousin Stizz’s best written songs, as he talks about it being hard to trust others. However, there are also themes of showing that you need to make sacrifices to get to where you want to be in life. Essentially, you should strive to become a self-made and prideful person and not skate through obstacles.

We should be attacking them head on every time and that is a message we want to hear more in modern rap. Stizz raps deliberately, helping his words and point get across clearly and from the start. What also makes “On The Muscle” so enjoyable for us is the entrancing beat. That comes from the beautiful looping guitar sample and the simple but bassy beat.

Rich Amiri Teases “WAR READY” With “MADONNA & RIHANNA”

Outside of some relationship gossip, Rich Amiri has not been given his proper shine here at HNHH. Today, we are going to change that, as the youngster from Boston, Massachusetts has a new single that’s creating some buzz. The Internet Money and 10K Projects rapper loves to operate in the trap scene with elements of rage as well. That is exactly the vibe Rich Amiri is bringing to “MADONNA & RIHANNA.”

This looks to be the first single for his forthcoming record WAR READY, which he is promoting on social media. There seems to not be a release date for this project, but we assume it is expected to drop in 2024. For Rich, it will be LP number four, and will follow-up two offerings in 2023, Evolution and Ghetto Fabolous. That latter of which featured bangers like the irresistible “ONE CALL.”

An area where we think he really shines is writing catchy hooks. “ONE CALL” had that going for it and so does “MADONNA & RIHANNA.” The beat choice is hard-hitting even if it is a little basic. Furthermore, Rich Amiri’s cadence is a selling point. His deep voice is pretty unique and it matches the atmospheric tone to this song, but also the rest of his music.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single, “MADONNA & RIHANNA,” by Rich Amiri? Is this the best track he has dropped as of late, why or why not? What is your favorite element of the track and why? Does this get you excited for what WAR READY could be? Lil Mosey was a hitmaking machine in the in the late 2010s and early 2020s decade. So much so in fact that he named his last full-length album Certified Hitmaker. We recently had a chat with Lil Mosey about recovering mentally from his troubling court case in which he was falsely accused of r*pe and this new track, among other things. He says “Thug Popstar” has lot of meaning behind it, even it does not seem like it on the surface. “I know it’s a fun song. But in the actual depth of the song, it definitely came from the heart. It was me talking to myself on the song. The first verse of the song was definitely me having a conversation with myself. The second verse is what I’ve been going through recently, and where my head’s been at recently.”

Kodak Black Raps About All That Is Holy On “Non Believer”

With his latest releases, Kodak Black has been getting more and more personal. The Florida rapper and singer has not had the cleanest record outside of music, but it seems he is trying to change his image. While not every track in this style has landed for him, we can certainly appreciate the effort in expanding his tonal range. That is what Kodak Black is doing on this latest single “Non Believer.”

This is now the fourth major release that we have seen the multi-hyphenate on. One of his best performances of the year without a doubt landed on “JEEZU.” THE BOOK OF CLARENCE soundtrack cut featuring Doja Cat and Adekunle Gold, was a powerful cut and major highlight on the project thanks to Black’s contributions. Like that film, Kodak is also focusing on God and religion.
