SNEEZE and Reebok Team for New LT Court Pack

Following the announcement of their original collaboration in 2020, Reebok and street culture outlet SNEEZE Magazine have collaborated on two editions of the LT Court sneaker that are inspired by classic ’90s skate sneakers. The SNEEZE x Reebok LT Court ($120, GW9607/GW9514) will be exclusively sold by SNEEZE starting on July 8 and will then be made available globally on July 15 through Reebok.com and select stores.

SNEEZE Magazine provides an accurate reference to the contemporary street and skate culture within its picture-heavy pages. SNEEZE is a perfect partner for Reebok because of its ongoing goal of inclusive storytelling and “positive vibrations.”

“Collaborating on a shoe isn’t easy,” commented SNEEZE. “It’s a lot of work putting something out there that we would be stoked to wear ourselves. We’ve had a nice run with Reebok and the shoes always turn out better than expected.”

The SNEEZE x Reebok LT Court is crafted with the same meticulous attention to detail as a ’80s Reebok Court model and is available in black/white (GW9607) and green/chalk (GW9514) colorways. In addition to maintaining original Reebok design elements like a deconstructed toe box, appropriate foam packaging, and vintage logos, the design makes use of an all-suede upper with contrast stitching. The cup sole tooling was also influenced by renowned Reebok multi-part molds.

“The angles of it are dynamic,” concluded SNEEZE. “Its stance has an attack to it, but it’s also very chill and looks really good on a skater.”

OG underfoot tooling with an embedded Iverson face logo, ribbed heel underlay, sublimated I3 tongue print, a smooth upper vamp, and the iconic zipper shroud are just a few of the classic elements.

Kanye West Calls Adidas’ New Shoe A ‘Fake Yeezy,’ Accusing CEO Kasper Rørsted Of ‘Blatant Copying’

Kanye West isn’t happy about Adidas’ new shoe, calling out the company’s CEO over “blatant copying” and calling the Adilette 22 slides ” a fake Yeezy made by Adidas themselves.” After deleting his first-quarter shenanigans from Instagram, it looked like he’d return to using the platform primarily to showcase his creative endeavors, like this weird McDonald’s packaging redesign. That lasted less than a month; he returned today to post a screenshot of the Adilette (apparently taken from a sneaker interest site) and lambast the German shoe manufacturer, despite the fact that they’ve been his design partner since 2015.

“THIS IS YE driving down the same street Kobe passed on,” he wrote. “Maybe I feel that Mamba spirit right now To Kasper I’m not standing for this blatant copying no more To all sneaker culture To every ball player rapper or even if you work at the store This is for everyone who wants to express themselves but feel they can’t cause they’ll loose their contract or be called crazy Bravery is not being afraid Bravery is overcoming your fear for your truth This Ye with the blue paint on my face These shoes represent the disrespect that people in power have to the talent This shoe is a fake Yeezy made by adidas themselves I’m not talking to DC about this either Kasper come talk to me Happy Monday”

… Look, man. Not to be that guy, but… Pot, meet kettle. Remember Nike’s Roshe silhouette? That year you couldn’t go anywhere without running into 500 pairs of those things on everyone’s feet from hardcore sneakerheads to errand-running girl dads. Then, Kanye switched teams from Nike because he didn’t like the terms of his partnership there, only to go to Adidas and drop the Yeezy Boost 350 — which looks almost exactly like Nike Roshes, despite his claim that it’s the “most iconic shoe of the past 15 years.” (Let’s not even get into how Walmart sued him because his new Yeezy Gap logo looks just like Walmart’s or how people thought the original Yeezy Slides look just like Crocs.)

Anyway, I’m sure this will lead to all kinds of chaos in the sneaker world this week, so if you’re an enthusiast (or a recovering one), buckle up. There could be some seismic shifts in the future.

Steph Curry Supports Equality in Sports with Custom Kicks

Steph Curry Game 3

Steph Curry has been incredibly busy this week, trying to lead the Warriors to an NBA title in a gritty battle against the Boston Celtics. While Curry hopes to emerge a winner on the court, he is working for a more even playing field off the court.

Curry has been known for rocking some fits from up-and-coming minority designers in his tunnel walks, and he is also promoting gender equality with his custom Curry 4’s, which feature the hashtag #RetireInequality and draw attention to economic inequalities that still face many women around the world today.

Curry debuted the custom Curry 4’s in game three against the Celtics. The shoes feature a bright blue, pink, yellow, and white colorway with the hashtag #RetireInequality. A closeup of the shoe was posted on the official Curry Brand Instagram (@sc30) with the following caption:

For Game 👌, @stephencurry30 wore a special pair of Curry 4s designed by our very own @azzi35. Major love to @tiaa @currybrand @dezcustomz and @kreativecustomkicks for helping make it all happen!

A small quantity of this special pair will be available for purchase on June 23 on @ntwrk, with all proceeds going to the Women’s Sports Foundation and @tiaa’s mission to bring awareness to the retirement pay gap affecting women today.

Tyler The Creator’s Latest Golf Le Fleur Converse Are Out Now — And They Look Amazing

The partnership between Tyler The Creator and Converse has proven to be quite fruitful. In addition to the Golf Wang Chucks that sold out nearly instantly the day they dropped — and the customizable re-release from earlier this year — as well as the hilarious “Really Cool Converse Club” commercial that Tyler directed, the partnership has now spawned an entirely new shoe, the GLF 2.0, designed by Tyler. Rather than being an athletic shoe like the ones borne from other artist/brand collaborations, it’s a casual sneaker that’ll likely look just as good dressed up and dressed down.

There are currently two colorways of the new sneaker: Oil Green and Bison, and Curry and Copper Tan. The upper is canvas and suede, with fat laces, and a classic overall silhouette that gives off the same retro vibe Tyler’s been embracing since his Flower Boy era. They’re priced at just $110 and odds are, they’ll be gone before the day is out, but you can still try your luck at Converse.com. There’s almost no way there’s not a restock at some point.

Tyler’s Golf Le Fleur label has flourished this year, with the immensely busy rapper-producer-designer introducing both a line of nail polish and a line of luggage, which he introduced with a cheeky short film.

Travis Scott Fans Share Their SNKRS Disappointment After Missing Out On His Latest Nike Shoes

Despite being persona non grata in the music industry for the past six months or so, Travis Scott remains as popular as ever among sneakerheads. Today, his latest collaboration with Nike dropped — and unfortunately for his fans, the shoes proved as scarce as a recent Travis headlining performance.

The culprit in this not-so-mysterious case of the missing shoes — as it so often is — was SNKRS, Nike’s app for bidding on the most coveted (or “hyped”) releases from its stocks. Whereas you’d go on the plain old Nike app for a pair of new LeBrons or general release Air Max, SNKRS is where you need to be for the latest Jordan retro or high-profile limited-edition release with artists like Travis or Billie Eilish.

However, ever since its release, it has been as much a source of frustration for fans as it has a resource — in fact, many times, it is more so. Nearly every new release day brings with it a slew of fans posting their “Ls” on social media, as the drawing system condemns many fans to the dicey proposition of the resale market, where they can get their latest grails, but only at a 200% markup (sometimes more). Today was no different, as the hotly-demanded Travis Scott Cact.us collection, consisting of a reconstructed Air Max 1 and Air Trainer 1, disappeared faster than you could say, “It’s lit!” Those who did hit today met an immediate wave of hate from their peers.

There is some good news on the horizon for Travis fans, though. He makes his return to the festival scene at Primavera Sound in Brazil this summer, while his album Utopia is still waiting in the wings. Check out fans’ SNKRS laments above.

Tyga And His Wavy Baby Sneakers Will Appear Against Vans In The Federal Appeals Court

Tyga has been locked in a legal battle over his recent Wavy Baby sneaker collaboration with MSCHF since April, but it appears they may be a light at the end of the tunnel. Billboard reports The U.S Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit has quickly approved an appeal submitted by the Brooklyn studio that assisted the “Taste” artist in making the shoe. On Wednesday, the court announced that the court would allow a quick challenge to a previous ruling that banned the sale of the sneakers because they look too much like Vans Old Skools.

MSCHF cited that the case was time-sensitive, as the ban infringed upon their First Amendment rights. “MSCHF is grateful that the Second Circuit granted its motion to expedite this appeal, which raises critical questions of the intersection of the First Amendment and trademark law,” stated David Bernstein, the company’s lawyer. “Given that MSCHF plans to display Wavy Baby at the Perrotin Gallery and at Art Basel this fall, it was essential that the appeal be expedited so that the Second Circuit can protect MSCHF’s First Amendment rights.”

The Second Circuit states the case will be fully briefed by mid-August and the ruling will come sometime after that. The Wavy Baby sneakers were originally set to release on April 18.

Billie Eilish Steps up Her Sneaker Game with new Air Force 1 Release

Billie Eilish sneakers

Kanye West and Billie Eilish may not see eye-to-eye on much, but one thing they have in common (aside from being chart-topping artists) is the fact that they now both have their own sneaker line.

While Ye has been in the sneaker game for quite some time with his Yeezy line, Eilish only recently entered the game with her neon green Air Jordan KO and most recently, with the debut of her Air Force 1 High last month. Now it appears that a Billie Eilish x Nike Air Force 1 Low is about to drop as well.

Eilish, who is one of the rare female artists with her own sneaker collection, has definitely imprinted her style in the Air Force 1 High, an oversized chunky style featuring five mid-foot straps over the laces. The entire upper (including the Nike swoosh) is a beige-ish colorway that she simply calls “mushroom.” (The sneaker is largely made with eco-friendly and recycled materials.)

A first glance at the Low model shows a departure from the monochromatic style of the High with two slightly different colorways on the upper in a block-like pattern overlaid by the Nike swoosh. Instagram account @solebyjc shared a sneak peek of the latest drop, which as of yet, has no release date.
