Later in the interview, Wayne also discussed his love of skateboarding more broadly. He described his reasoning as “organic.” “It’s simple,” he told the hosts. “You can’t put your feet on four wheels on some wood and start kicking and start thinking about nothing else except what’s in front of you and on the side of you.” When Hawk and Ellis shared clips from the interview on Instagram, many fans praised it as one of the best episodes of the podcast yet.

Lil Wayne Flexes Skateboarding Skills In New Video With Custom Board

Lil Wayne recently showed off his skateboarding skills with friends at an indoor space on Instagram. While some people were skeptical at his tricks and called them repetitive over the years, he’s clearly still got it. Also, it’s important to note that out of all rappers on the planet, Wayne’s the last person who needs an extracurricular. Not only is he an incredibly prolific rapper and feature presence, but he’s probably got so much in the vault. Overall, Weezy’s skill with a mic and/or pen translates well on wheels, and he clearly loves it a lot.

In fact, the New Orleans MC is such a fan that he just watched skating videos during a Grammys party. Furthermore, but it’s kind of funny considering that they also honored him with the Global Impact Award.  “I want you all to know that I don’t get honored,” he said during his acceptance speech. “Where I’m from, New Orleans, you’re not supposed to do this. I’d like to thank every single one of my kids and every single one of their mothers.” To top it off, he saw some skate tapes and did great at his performance later.

Also, the rapper recently received a custom pro model board to signify his official professional skateboarder status. “This was a Christmas gift, but I decided to turn it into a surprise because it would be more meaningful that way,” Wayne’s videographer for Young Money Skate, Phil Lopez. “As Wayne’s videographer, I wanted to do something special for him that he’d remember. I approached Torey, owner of Thank You Skate Co., with the board design, and he was able to help execute the production process.” Pro skaters Torey Pudwill, Keelan Dadd, and Yosef Ratleff were also there to gift him the board. In fact, that seemed to be the same board he uses in this newest skate video.

However, even with all those accolades, Tunechi doesn’t call himself “the GOAT” of skating. Moreover, he shouted out Tyler, the Creator, Rich the Kid, Justin Bieber, and a few others for how much fun they have together. Apparently, Rich in particular might take that title. Regardless of where you stand, come back to HNHH for the latest on Lil Wayne and his skate lifestyle.

Lil Wayne Watches Skateboarding Videos During Grammys Party

Lil Wayne was spotted watching skateboarding videos in a viral video circulating on social media. The clip appears to be from a party for the 2023 Grammy Awards. The Recording Academy held the ceremony in Los Angeles on Sunday.

At the Grammys, Wayne participated in a performance of “God Did,” alongside Jay-Z, DJ Khaled, John Legend, Rick Ross, and Fridayy. The track comes from Khaled’s album of the same name. It was up for three Grammys on Sunday, including Song of the Year, Best Rap Song, and Best Rap Performance.

The video of Wayne watching skateboarding video comes after the iconic rapper officially became a professional skateboarder. In celebration of the honor, Wayne’s videographer for Young Money Skate, Phil Lopez, gifted him a “pro model” board. “This was a Christmas gift, but I decided to turn it into a surprise because it would be more meaningful that way,” Lopez said in a video. “As Wayne’s videographer, I wanted to do something special for him that he’d remember. I approached Torey, owner of Thank You Skate Co., with the board design, and he was able to help execute the production process.”

Regardless of his love for skateboarding, Wayne doesn’t consider himself the “G.O.A.T.” of hip-hop skateboarders. Instead, he says that honor should belong to Rich The Kid. He explained why during an appearance on the Players Day Off podcast in 2022. Wayne also added that Y.G. should be in consideration as well. “No, I am trying to tell you man,” Wayne admitted, when asked if he is the undisputed G.O.A.T. “I’m trying to tell you, I’m bout to tell you bruh — they got people who don’t be wanting to show they skills for real until they get around me. Man, I’m gone expose you. First of all, Rich The Kid — man, the man skate with three watches on. Man that’s just that though.” Check out the clip of Lil Wayne watching skateboarding videos at a Grammys party below.

I approached Torey, owner of Thank You Skate Co., with the board design, and he was able to help execute the production process.”

Continuing in the spirit of giving, Wayne and Young Money president Mack Maine spent the holidays inviting 150 kids to celebrate “A Weezy Christmas” at Dave & Busters. There, they partnered with Wilson Sporting Goods to give all the attendees new sports equipment.
