Jeremih has officially unveiled the music video for his latest single, “Sick,” featuring rising R&B artist 4Batz. The emotional visual dives into both artists’ intense longing for former lovers, capturing their reflections on relationships marked by passion, complexity, and, at times, toxicity.

In this mid-tempo track, Jeremih and 4Batz deliver heartfelt lyrics that reveal how much they miss their exes, likening the feeling to an illness. The video, directed by CreatedbyBlu (known for work with Benny The Butcher and Blxst), follows each singer as they replay bittersweet memories of lost love, using a mix of moody, colorful scenes to convey their inner turmoil.

Jeremih, a key influence in the evolution of contemporary R&B, sees “Sick” as a tribute to fans who’ve been waiting for his solo return since Late Nights: The Album. 4Batz, fresh off his collaboration with Lil Baby on “roll da dice,” calls “Sick” a true R&B record, describing Jeremih as one of the genre’s greats. “Sick” marks the second single from Jeremih’s upcoming project, set to release in early 2025.

YNW Melly Trial: Sick Juror Replaced By Alternate

Everyone in the fields of hip-hop culture and crime is keeping a close eye on the YNW Melly double murder trial. Moreover, small developments in the case could end up having big consequences, as the most recent events display in a seemingly small but crucial way. Furthermore, journalist Bryson “Boom” Paul reported that the court replaced a sick juror with an alternate individual on Thursday (June 22). As such, this could potentially impact the trial depending on whether or not the new juror will interpret the case in the same way that the original one would. Regardless, at least it was a potentially speed bump in the proceedings that the court was able to sidestep swiftly.

In addition, changes like these could also have big implications considering a recent decision on the integrity of the case. On Tuesday (June 20), Judge Murphy III denied YNW Melly’s defense team’s motion for a mistrial, and the case continued as planned. For those unaware, the rapper’s attorneys believed evidence presented by the state to be prejudicial and therefore improper. In other words, this evidence did not further the facts of the case, in the defense’s eyes, but rather placed a bias on their client that could unrightfully impact the verdict.

Ill Juror Gets Replacement In YNW Melly Case: Report

Still, there seems to be a lot to still go through in this trial, especially with the contention present regarding the mistrial. Since that decision, a few other updates from the courtroom proved interesting to the public- with one in particular being favorable for YNW Melly. During Wednesday’s proceedings (June 21), the court maintained that prosecutors committed a discovery violation. Apparently, as a result of not disclosing an additional forensics report, the court will now bar certain information from being brought forth as evidence.

Of course, it’s unclear whether said evidence would have acted in the Florida native’s favor at the end of the day. That being said, it being a part of the case built by the prosecution likely couldn’t have spelled out good news for him. With that in mind, stay logged into HNHH for the latest news, updates, and viral moments from the YNW Melly trial.

Lizzo Postpones Another Tour Date Due To Illness

The strain of Lizzo’s hectic schedule is beginning to show. The artist has been keeping busy with shows all over the continent. She also recently attended the Met Gala in New York. Lizzo is currently in the midst of the second leg of her “Special” tour, which began in Knoxville, Tennessee. She invited several local drag queens to perform with her on stage during the show’s finale, which was a daring act of defiance against the state’s ongoing legal ban on drag. Lizzo’s actions are proof that the local drag scene is thriving despite the ban.

Lizzo shared the event with her followers on social media and thanked the drag queens for representing Tennessee with such pride. A rainbow of hearts was present in the background of the video, and her followers and fellow queens flooded the comments section with sincere messages of thanks. On her tour, Lizzo will visit Louisiana, Missouri, and Memphis. Currently, Missouri is attempting to pass legislation that would make adult cabaret performances on public property illegal. Meanwhile, Louisiana, a state with a conservative lean, may do the same in the future. Unfortunately, Lizzo’s prideful prowess has taken a hit after she got sick following the Met Gala.

Lizzo’s Mature Health Response

Late last week, Lizzo posted a video to her Instagram to speak directly to fans. In the video, she explains that she is extremely sick. As such, her Montreal date had to be postponed. Sadly for Lizzo fans, the same happened to her Hartford, CT date just a few days later. The pop star once again took to social media to explain the situation. “Hello Hartford, it is me. As you know, I canceled my Montreal show ’cause I was experiencing extreme flu-like symptoms,” Lizzo said. “I tested for COVID and it’s negative. However, I did test positive for strep throat. Though I’m feeling stronger, my body, my throat is still extremely raw and swollen.”

Although it is disappointing news, Lizzo points out that it is for the best. “In the past, I have pushed myself because I always want to bring you guys an incredible show. And I want to bring you guys the best of me,” she added. “And I’m realizing as I mature that this is not the best of me. I need to heal so that I can be the artist that you guys deserve and maintain my body. Still hurts to swallow, still hurts to speak, but it really hurts to cancel.” Stay tuned to HNHH for updates on Lizzo’s concert schedule.

Lizzo Cancels Montreal Concert Over Health Concerns

Lizzo’s insane schedule may finally be catching up with her. Between rushing to New York to attend the Met Gala to touring around the continent, she’s kept pretty busy. The artist is currently in the midst of the second leg of her Special tour. It started at the Thompson-Boling Arena in Knoxville, TN. During the show’s climax, she brought several drag queens from the area onstage to perform with her. It was a bold and daring act of defiance against the current legal situation surrounding drag in the state. Despite the ban, reports indicate that the local drag scene is thriving. Lizzo’s actions serve as evidence of this.

Lizzo took to social media to share the moment with her followers. She expressed gratitude towards the drag queens for showcasing their pride in Tennessee. The singer captioned the video with a rainbow of hearts, and her fans and fellow queens flooded the comments with heartfelt messages, clearly moved by Lizzo’s actions. Lizzo’s tour will take her to Memphis, Tennessee, as well as Missouri and Louisiana. Missouri is currently trying to pass a law that would criminalize adult cabaret performances on public property, while Louisiana, being a conservative-leaning state, may see anti-drag legislation in the future.

Lizzo’s Unscheduled Break

Lizzo’s busy schedule seems to be impacting her health, as evidenced by recent events. Despite being on tour and performing at major events such as the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and the 2023 Met Gala, she was unable to perform at her scheduled concert in Montreal due to health concerns. Initially, news of her flu-like symptoms was shared on Twitter, but her profile is now private. In a video posted on her official Instagram, Lizzo apologized to her fans and confirmed that she would not be performing.

“I had a sore throat last night and a headache and went to bed,” Lizzo said in the video. “I woke up this morning, and my body is weak, and I have chills, and my head hurts. Normally, if it’s just a cold, I’d shower, I’d eat, take some medicine, and it gets better. But this is getting worse.” Lizzo remained apologetic throughout the video, telling fans that she would find a new day to play the city. “I think it’s the flu, and I have to make the unfortunate decision to cancel today. I want to find a date to reschedule, but I just can’t perform tonight.” Stay tuned to HNHH for more updates on Lizzo’s tour.

Nicki Minaj’s Husband Kenneth Petty Suddenly Sick, Can’t Attend Mediation With Assault Accuser

Nicki Minaj’s husband Kenneth Petty suddenly became sick ahead of his mediation with the woman who accused him of sexual assault. Moreover, their attorney Steven D. Isser asked Judge James R. Cho to move said proceeding to March 24. Previously, the mediation was scheduled for March 6 and then March 9, but faced last-minute cancelations on both occasions due to Petty’s health. Furthermore, readers likely remember Minaj’s husband’s high-profile assault case and various problems with the sex offender registry. According to court documents obtained by AllHipHop, though, the case is slightly on hold for now.

The documents show that the court ordered all parties to mediation and subsequently postponed it due to health concerns. “We respectfully request that the Court extend the mediation deadline to March 24, 2023,” said Isser. “[This] will hopefully be sufficient time for Mr. Petty to recover and the for parties and the Mediator to schedule a mutually available date for the mediation. Thank you for your attention to this matter.” At the moment, it’s unclear whether such requests received open arms or significant pushback.

Authorities convicted Petty of first-degree attempted sexual assault in 1995. Afterwards, he served over four years in prison but continued to face legal troubles and skeletons in the closet. For example, his accuser Jennifer Hough claimed that both Petty and Minaj harassed, threatened, and intimidated her following her testimonies. While she dropped the “Super Freaky Girl” rapper in the case, Petty still stands as a defendant. With this in mind, the case now revolves mostly around Petty’s handling of the case overall.

Meanwhile, he also faced charges of failing to register as a sex offender in California. Furthermore, a judge sentenced him to one year of house arrest and three years of probation back in July. However, he sought to push back against his sex offender status in New York, claiming that the state unrightfully placed him on a registry. Whether his illness played a larger role in this case and its postponement remains to be determined. Regardless, stick around on HNHH for the latest news on Nicki Minaj and her husband Kenneth Petty.

Earl Sweatshirt Brings His Moody Single ‘2010’ To ‘The Tonight Show’ Stage

Earl Sweatshirt finally found his way to the Tonight Show stage Monday night to promote his new album Sick!, performing the not-quite-nostalgic single “2010.” Ironically, it was just after 2010 that Earl’s rabble-rousing crew Odd Future first made their own television debut on The Tonight Show (albeit minus Earl, who had been shipped off to boarding school in Samoa by his protective mother for his troublemaking activities), menacing host Jimmy Fallon and the audience in a performance Questlove was sure would get the show canceled altogether.

Fortunately, it wasn’t canceled, leaving the path clear for Earl to make his own appearance a little over a decade later. While his performance this time was much more self-contained, with just Earl, his DJ, and the projections on the screen behind him, Earl proves to be sufficient by himself to capture and hold the audience’s attention as he narrates the tumultuous time that led to his absence when Odd Future took over with their unique brand of anti-establishment chaos.

Watch Earl Sweatshirt’s Tonight Show performance of “2010” above and catch earl on the NBA Leather World Tour with Action Bronson and The Alchemist.

Joe Budden Didn’t Need To Listen To Earl Sweatshirt’s New Album To Decide He Hates It

When it comes to media coverage of new rap releases, one voice fans seek out — if only for entertainment value rather than insight — is Joe Budden. The ex-rapper has been ruthless about demeaning contemporary artists’ albums on his podcast in the past, calling Logic one of the worst rappers ever, trolling Jay Electronica on the release of his long-awaited debut, and goading Eminem into a war of words, amidst dealing with his own personal drama after being accused of sexual harassment and shady business practices by his former employees.

He continued that trend on the latest episode of his podcast as he addressed Earl Sweatshirt’s newly released album, Sick!, which contains the tracks “Tabula Rasa” and “Titanic.” While the project was received well by fans on social media, Budden expressed an opposite view, staunchly declaring that he refused to even give it a cursory listen. Despite this, he still had plenty to say on the subject as he raked Earl over the coals, although Earl’s name is mysteriously censored — even though Joe’s comments make it fairly obvious who he’s referring to.

“I’m just being honest this year,” he said. “Hell no, I ain’t hear that bullsh*t! And I’ll tell you what, I’m never gonna hear ’em! I am never gonna hear that. I don’t care. That sh*t could be [Michael Jackson’s] Thriller. When would I put that on?” He expounded on his reasoning by pointing out he’s never heard a request to play Earl from a specific demographic. “Let me tell you how shallow I am,” he explained. “If a baddie comes in and throws on [Earl] and there’s some slaps on there, and then maybe another baddie comes… but I’ll be honest, that ain’t happened.”

He also blamed his reticence to play Earl’s new music on the LA rapper’s deteriorated relationship with Tyler The Creator. “Is [Earl] on Tyler’s last album?” he asked. “Is [Earl] on Tyler’s album before that album? How about the one before that one? All right, yo. Forget it. But you expect me to listen to it. [His] man won’t call him to come to the f*cking studio. Yo, when your man stop inviting you to the studio, you’re not getting me to listen to what you’re doing. Sorry, that’s like a rule of thumb for me.”

Unfortunately for Joe, fans don’t agree with his insistence that he’s just being honest, attributing his attitude to leftover resentment after Earl roasted him with an unflattering impression during an episode of Loiter Squad in 2014.

Earl Sweatshirt Drops ‘Titanic’ And Shares The ‘Sick!’ Tracklist

The January 14th release date for Earl Sweatshirt’s new project Sick! is fast approaching. We’ve already heard two cuts from Sick! in the out spaced-existential “2010” and the sprawling “Tabula Rasa” featuring Armand Hammer. Now today, Earl has dropped a third cut in “Titanic,” and shared the tracklist to the project due out next week.

Produced by Black Noise, “Titanic” is a succinct statement, with Earl spitting straight through the under two minute cut with gems like: “Yes sir, think I already feel it. Sweatshirt, ’cause you know how revenge, is best served / Cold dish.”

The ten cuts on the tracklist show only two guest features. Along with Armand Hammer on “Tabula Rasa,” Detroit rapper Zelooperz appears on a track called “Vision.” And for what it’s worth, considering both “Titanic” and “2010” come in at around two minutes, and one of the album’s tracks is an intermission (“Lobby”), what comes out on the 14th could very well be the 21-minute album that the Alchemist referenced last September when he said “I couldn’t even describe it… that would be a disservice to it.”

Listen to “Titanic” above and check out the Sick! tracklist below.

1. “Old Friend”
2. “2010”
3. “Sick!”
4. “Vision” Feat. Zelooperz
5. “Tabula Rasa” Feat. Armand Hammer
6. “Lye”
7. “Lobby (Int)”
8. “God Laughs”
9. “Titanic”
10. “Fire In The Hole”

Earl Sweatshirt Announces ‘Sick’ And Drops The No-Nonsense ‘Tabula Rasa’ Featuring Armand Hammer

The rumors around Earl Sweatshirt’s follow up album to 2018’s Some Rap Songs and the 2019 effort Feet Of Clay have been swirling all year long. First, Alchemist said he and Earl had hidden an album on YouTube under a fake name. Next, Vince Staples made the biblical assertion that he, Earl, and Alchemist had laid down “30 verses on 30 beats” for a project with Earl and Alchemist. Then in September, Alchemist went on The Needle Drop and said that Earl’s album was “done and it’s incredible,” and is 21 minutes long. The Black Noise-produced “2010” dropped last month, and now, we finally have confirmation of the next Earl release.

The just-announced Sick is a 10-track project that’s set to drop on January 14th, 2022. The announcement also came with the release of the newest single, “Tabula Rasa,” featuring Armand Hammer. The video is a one-shot take that brings us through a home studio with first Armand Hammer’s Elucid dropping his verse, before Billy Woods lays his down and Earl brings it home with an ill stream of consciousness flow.

Earl released a statement on Sick and it speaks directly to what he address on “Tabula Rasa”:

“SICK is my humble offering of 10 songs recorded in the wake of the worldwide coronavirus pandemic and its subsequent lockdowns. Before the virus I had been working on an album I named after a book I used to read with my mother (‘The People Could Fly’). Once the lockdowns hit, people couldn’t fly anymore. A wise man said art imitates life. People were sick. The People were angry and isolated and restless. I leaned into the chaos cause it was apparent that it wasn’t going anywhere. these songs are what happened when I would come up for air. Peace and love to Zelooperz the enigma, The Armand Hammer, and my good friends Alchemist and Black Noi$e. Peace and love to u.”

If the tracks on Sick are laid out like four-plus minute “Tabula Rasa,” then there’s no chance that this is the 21-minute album that Alchemist referred to. That couple with reading between the lines of Earl’s statement, makes it possible that Sick is just a step towards a separate full-blown album. Time will tell. For now, peep the video for “Tabula Rasa” above.
