Skip Bayless Apologizes To Viewers For Bills-Bengals Game Tweet On ‘Undisputed’

Skip Bayless Catches Heat For Saying He Has 'No Sympathy' for Dak Prescott's Fight With Depression

Undisputed co-host Skip Bayless apologized to viewers on Tuesday’s (Jan. 3) episode, with an absent co-host Shannon Sharpe, for his tweet following the horrific injury of Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin during the Monday Night Football game on January 2nd between the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals. The 71-year-old famed journalist/correspondent was met with huge backlash on Monday night after tweeting to his 3.2 million followers on Twitter: “No doubt the NFL is considering postponing the rest of this game – but how? This last in the season, a game of this magnitude is crucial to the regular-season outcome … which suddenly seems so irrelevant.”

Bayless began Tuesday’s episode with an apologetic opening monologue, in which he said, “I apologize for what we’re going to do today. I’m not sure I’m capable of doing this show today but, after barely sleeping on it, I decided to give it a try. Maybe I’ll fail, maybe we will fail, but we’re going to try. We wrestled through most of the night whether to even do a show today because we felt like, in our minds, we almost can’t win with this because the last thing we want to do is come off as insensitive to what this young man is going through in a life or death situation.”

An outraged social media called for Skip Bayless’s firing by Fox Sports 1 on Monday evening, with several retired NFL football stars like 6-time Pro Bowl wide-receiver Terrell Owens calling him “dead wrong” and hoping he loses his job. The network made no comment on Skip Bayless or the Damar Hamlin situation at press time.

In the midst of the backlash on Monday, Bayless followed up his original tweet with a concerning tweet about Hamlin’s health and the ultimate importance of health for the players over the game.

“Nothing is more important than that young man’s health,” he wrote. “That was the point of my last tweet. I’m sorry if that was misunderstood but his health is all that matters. Again, everything else is irrelevant. I prayed for him & will continue to.”

Although absent from Undisputed on Tuesday, Shannon Sharpe shared his prayers with fans, Hamlin and his family on Monday evening. “Please keep Demar Hamlin and his family in your thoughts and prayers,” wrote The three-time Super Bowl champion. “NFL doesn’t have a manual on how to proceed after an incident like this.”

Amid Damar Hamlin’s injury, the NFL has announced that the game between the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals will not resume this week.

Waka Flocka Flame Reflects On TakeOff’s Death With Shannon Sharpe

Waka Flocka Flame recently weighed in on the death of Takeoff while speaking with Shannon Sharpe for his podcast, Club Shay Shay. The Migos rapper was shot and killed in Houston back in November during a dice game.

The topic arose when Sharpe brought up the number of rappers who have died in recent years, including Pop Smoke, PnB Rock, Trouble, as well as Takeoff.

“I can’t tell you why, and I never want to speak on nobody’s death, but I could tell you this: when God blesses you, you have to change your ways, you have to evolve — you have to,” Waka said. “I could just say wrong place, wrong time for these guys.”

“So, in other words, once you ascend to a certain level, you gotta leave that alone,” Sharpe clarified.

“Oh yeah, I don’t roll dice,” Waka interjected. “With all respect, why would I roll dice with somebody that ain’t in my tax bracket? It’s liable that some shit could happen.”

Sharpe then admitted that he likes to “show you that I don’t think I’m better than you.”

“Boy, I ain’t never been that n***a,” Waka replied. “I watch people die everyday like that — that’s why I ain’t never been him … I ain’t got nothing to prove to y’all.”

While Shannon Sharpe spoke with Waka Flocka Flame, earlier this week, the former NFL star took Tuesday off from his Fox Sports 1 show, Undisputed. Upon return, he and Skip Bayless went at it over a controversial tweet Bayless posted regarding Damar Hamlin.

Shannon Sharpe Confronts Skip Bayless Over Damar Hamlin Tweet

After receiving a wave of backlash over his tweet about Damar Hamlin, Skip Bayless refuses to remove the message. NFL fans watched as Buffalo Bills star Damar Hamlin suffered a medical emergency on the field. As real-time updates have been offered regarding his health status, Bayless emerged with a tweet that rubbed many the wrong way.

“No doubt the NFL is considering postponing the rest of this game – but how?” Bayless questioned. “This late in the season, a game of this magnitude is crucial to the regular-season outcome … which suddenly seems so irrelevant.”

The game would be stopped, but not quickly enough for some. Bayless was accused of focusing on the game rather than Hamlin. He took to Undisputed solo to address the controversy, and many believed Shannon Sharpe’s absence was because of their tension.

This morning (January 4), the two men joined together on their platform, and viewers could immediately sense something was off. During the exchange, Bayless made it clear that he wouldn’t be deleting his controversial tweet.

“Skip tweeted something, and although I disagreed with the tweet, hopefully, Skip will take it down,’ Sharpe said. Bayless interrupted to add, “Timeout… I stand by what I tweeted.”

Additionally, Sharpe spoke directly about Hamlin’s injury. The NFL star’s family has been updating the public about his status. It’s reported Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest and wasn’t breathing on his own after being hit during Monday night’s game.

“There’s been a lot of speculation on why I wasn’t on air yesterday, and I won’t get into speculation, conjecture, innuendo, but I will say this,” said Sharpe. “Watching that game on Monday night, what happened to Damar Hamlin struck me a little different.”

“As the brotherhood of the NFL, when injuries happen—and we know injuries are part of the game,” he continued. “I’ve seen guys suffer for ACLs and Achilles tear, but I’ve never had to see anybody have to be revived and fight for their life on the field.”

We will keep you updated as more about Damar Hamlin is shared. Check out Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless’s exchange above.

Shannon Sharpe Misses ‘Undisputed’ Episode Due To Skip Bayless Insensitive Damar Hamlin Tweet

Shannon Sharpe Believes Michael Jordan Dropped The Ball on His Response to Donald Trump

Shannon Sharpe was unexpectedly missing from Tuesday’s episode of Undisputed. However, sources are saying that his absence was due to Skip Bayless’s insensitive tweet following the Damar Hamlin incident.

TMZ reported on Tuesday that Shannon skipped the episode because he was “upset” over Skip Bayless’s insensitive Damar Hamlin tweet where he wondered why the NFL would suspend an important game this late in the season. The outlet also noted that the network does not know if Sharpe will return to work on Wednesday either.

Skip has been facing heavy backlash for his tweet from people and athletes on social media. Many have even called for his firing. Bayless took Tuesday’s episode to apologize for his comments and clarify what he was trying to say.

“I apologize for what we’re going to set out to do here today, if it offends anyone, because we’re gonna try to do the show pretty much as we usually do the show. I’ll admit up front, I’m still shook up by what happened last night to Damar Hamlin,” Bayless said. “In fact, I’m still wrecked. In fact, I’m not sure I’m capable of doing this show today. After barely sleeping on it last night, I decided to give it a try.”

He added, “We wrestled through much of the night whether to even do a show today because it felt like in our mind, we almost can’t win with this. Because the last thing we want to try to do is come off as insensitive to what this young man is going through in a life-or-death situation. … As this show goes on, we’re going to try and talk about a little bit of sports, but we’re going to continue to talk about what happened to this young man last night and try to sort back through it with help from you and the audience.”

Shannon Sharpe Has More Reality Checks For Russell Wilson

Shannon Sharpe was a legend on the Denver Broncos. He completely changed the way tight ends look at the game and that makes him an icon. Additionally, he got to catch passes from John Elway, which certainly makes your job easier. Either way, Sharpe knows a lot about the game.

These days, Sharpe can be seen on TV where he speaks about football and basketball with Skip Bayless. Undisputed has been on fire as of late, and Sharpe’s personality has certainly aided with that. While the show has had some controversy, it has also been getting some great ratings.

Shannon Sharpe Vs. Russell Wilson

Recently, Sharpe has been going in on the likes of Russell Wilson. As it pertains to Wilson, there is a lot to roast. His play ultimately got his head coach fired, and there is no chance they make the playoffs. Sharpe has been annoyed by Russ’ attitude, and for the third day in a row, he made an example out of Wilson.

“Hell, I wish I was 6’9″ with a 42 inch vertical and could shoot the ball like Steph Curry. Oh how we wish for things that didn’t happen,” Sharpe said in response to Russ wishing he had been better for his coach. Later on, Sharpe referenced John Elway, saying “We knew John Elway got certain perks and privileges. But he never made us feel he was better than us. You can’t do that.”

Overall, Sharpe knows what he’s talking about here. Additionally, Wilson might want to watch all of this as he needs the rude awakening. Without it, the Broncos will subsequently stink for many, many years. If you’re a Broncos fan, you are hoping that won’t be the case.

Shannon Sharpe Goes Off On Russell Wilson Again

Shannon Sharpe is always on point when he delivers his criticisms of NFL players. Overall, Sharpe is someone who tries to hold players accountable. On Undisputed, he can sometimes go a bit overboard, however, this is television, and you need to be captivating.

Recently, Sharpe went after the likes of Russell Wilson. Wilson plays for Sharpe’s former team, so you can be sure that Shannon has some emotional attachment. Having said that, Wilson is having a horrific year, and consequently, Sharpe has been letting him know.

Shannon Sharpe Rips Wilson

After an epic rant on Tuesday, Sharpe came right back with some heat on Wednesday. As you can see in the clip below, Sharpe accused Wilson of wanting to be more of a celebrity than an actual football player. Additionally, he said the locker room doesn’t really feel too fondly about him.

“Russell Wilson wants to be famous more than he wants to be a good football player,” Sharpe said. “The players inside that locker room don’t like him! He has not earned their respect. He thinks he’s better than they are and they sense it.”

This goes in line with what Sharpe said yesterday. Although, yesterday we got Sharpe’s more humorous side.

“They let Russ cook on Christmas and he burned the god dang gon’ meal! And everybody went hungry thanks to Russ’ cooking,” Sharpe said. “Russ, you better get back on your grind. You better make sure they know that this was a ‘blip’ and not a trend because they’ll eat your money next year.”

Wilson needs to be a lot better, however, there is no guarantee that things improve. If you are a Broncos fan, you have got to be feeling pretty bad right now.

Shannon Sharpe Delivers Epic Takedown Of Russell Wilson

When it comes to holding players accountable, you know that Shannon Sharpe is going to be brutally honest. The Undisputed co-host has had some harsh opinions over the years, and that won’t be changing anytime soon. Overall, it is his honesty that makes him so captivating on television.

Sharpe has had a lot to talk about this year when it comes to the NFL. For the most part, the league has been entertaining and there has been plenty of drama concerning Sharpe’s former team. Of course, we are talking about the Denver Broncos, who just fired Nathaniel Hackett.

Shannon Sharpe Rips Russ

Consequently, Sharpe had a lot to say about what happened with Hackett. Sharpe believes the team is in complete disarray and it will be hard to do anything with Russell Wilson’s contract. Additionally, Sharpe went on a humorous rant against Wilson where he came through with some very creative insults.

For Broncos fans, the Russell Wilson has been a complete and utter disaster beyond comprehension. Wilson used to be one of the best quarterbacks in the entire NFL. Now, he is a shell of his former self, and he is going to need a reality check if he wants to start winning again. Hopefully, for Broncos fans, he is able to get better.

As for Sharpe, it is hard to disagree with anything he said here. These are some unfiltered thoughts, and you have to respect that. Let us know what you think of Sharpe’s remarks, in the comments below.

Shannon Sharpe Reacts To JJ Watt’s Retirement

Shannon Sharpe was one of the best tight ends to ever play the game of football. If you love football, then Sharpe is someone you should respect. He changed the position forever, and overall, he is one of the legends of the game who is arguably top 3 or 5 at his position.

These days, Sharpe can be seen on FS1’s Undisputed where he sits across from Skip Bayless. While these two tend to bicker a lot, there is no doubt that they have some interesting debates. Today, however, they reflected on a current NFL star, JJ Watt.

This is all because Watt revealed that he was going to retire from football at the end of this season. In the tweet down below, you can see that Watt signaled that this weekend was his last ever NFL home game. Overall, it was a shocking admission, although one that is highly respected.

Shannon Sharpe Pays Homage

Sharpe is someone who understands just how hard it is to retire. As a result, he respects Watt wanting to call it quits for his family. Additionally, Sharpe noted just how amazing Watt was and how he will likely go to the Hall of Fame one day.

“You can make the case he was the best player in football for some time. An impeccable career. I don’t think anybody saw THIS. Obviously, he’s going to Canton,” Sharpe stated.

Watt will certainly be going to the Hall of Fame, and it is likely he will be first-ballot. After all, he won three Defensive Player of the Year awards, and as Sharpe said, he was the league’s best player at one point. Hopefully, the Hall of Fame committee feels the same way.

Gilbert Arenas Reacts To Shannon Sharpe-Skip Bayless Feud

Gilbert Arenas is one of the most entertaining voices in NBA media. The former player was phenomenal on the court, and he certainly doesn’t pull any punches on his podcast. Additionally, when he gives his opinion, he always tries to present the most facts possible.

Overall, Arenas is someone that fans want to hear from. His days as a Washington Wizard have granted him the credentials to speak on anything, including the media landscape. In a recent appearance on VladTV, that is exactly what he did.

Gilbert Arenas Reacts

In the clip below, Arenas was asked about the infamous argument between Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe. During this debate, Skip told Shannon that he isn’t as good as Tom Brady. Subsequently, this led to a screaming match that now has people believing that Skip and Shannon hate one another.

Arenas took a measured approach while speaking on the matter. In his view, this is the overall problem he has with sports media. Effectively, everyone’s credentials are constantly being questioned, even if they make a good point. Someone could be dead-on with their analysis, however, if they are missing a championship, they will get roasted for it.

Arenas wants this to change as he feels like it is the biggest problem plaguing modern debate. There is too much emphasis on your credentials, and not enough on the meat of what you’re saying.

Overall, it is very hard to disagree with this statement. After all, we see this all of the time, especially in the NBA. It’s not productive, and it had led to a decline in intellectual discussion.

Let us know what you thought of Arenas’ remarks, in the comments down below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for more news from the basketball world.

Deion Sanders Recalls Punching His Teammate

Deion Sanders has been in the news quite a bit as of late. This is all because of the recent news that he would be leaving Jackson State University. Consequently, Sanders has received criticism as this move goes against his prior commitment to HBCUs.

Now, Sanders will coach Colorado which is a much bigger program. He is also receiving a huge pay increase. Moreover, this could very well lead to a bigger job in the NFL or perhaps even another college program. Needless to say, Sanders is planning out a long-term future.

Deion Sanders Vs. 49ers Teammate

This past week, Sanders got to sit down with Shannon Sharpe on Club Shay Shay. In fact, Sanders was interviewed in Boulder, Colorado as Sharpe traveled on location. Overall, they had an interesting chat that included some interesting stories from Sanders.

For instance, in the video down below, Sanders explains the time he punched a teammate during a film session. It is a pretty hilarious story that speaks to just how competitive Sanders was. Overall, it boils down to one of his teammates misreading his assignments on defense. Sanders didn’t like how this made himself look, and when his teammate dismissed his concerns, he opted to get physical.

In the comments of the post above, some fans have figured out that the teammate in question was Merton Hanks. This would make sense as Sanders noted that he was on the 49ers when this incident happened.

Either way, it was a fun story that had Sharpe laughing the entire time. For those who want to see the rest of the interview, you can check out the video, down below.
