Steve Harvey Reflects On Miss Universe Pageant Mishap

Steve Harvey recently sat down with Shannon Sharpe for an interview in which he reflected on his infamous Miss Universe Pageant mishap. Back in 2015, Harvey initially announced Ariadna Gutiérrez of Colombia as the new Miss Universe but had to return to the stage and apologize, noting that Gutiérrez was actually the 1st runner-up. Instead, Pia Wurtzbach of the Philippines was the true winner.

Harvey explained to Sharpe that someone behind the scenes wanted to change the way the winners were announced. Thus, they gave him the names in a different order than he was expecting and he got confused. At first, the producers told him to wait until the next day to issue the correction, but he decided to go back out and address it then and there. “Stupidest shit I ever did!”, he said to Shannon Sharpe. “I should’ve let them fix it in the news. My stupid ass walked right out there and took the full hit man. I took it dead in the teeth, like it was all my fault, but it wasn’t.”

From there, Harvey remarked that he still has security due to the multiple death threats he received from the Colombians. On this note, several fans commented on a repost of the clip from The Neighborhood Talk. “The fact the cartel was coming for him is an issue for me,” one user wrote. Another commented, “Phew them Colombians don’t play! He’s going to have security for life!”

Elsewhere in the interview, Shannon Sharpe and Steve Harvey discussed Harvey’s career, divorce and past marriages, fitness and health, Harvey’s daughter Lori, and more. Check out a clip from the discussion as shared by The Neighborhood Talk below.

Shannon Sharpe Grades LeBron James’ Game 4 Performance

Shannon Sharpe is one of the first names that comes to mind when thinking of those that defend LeBron James’ legacy. Sharpe has long shouted from the rooftops that James is the greatest player to ever play in the NBA. The GOAT debate is a debate that will never find a definite answer. However, James put another great chapter in his legacy on Monday night. The Lakers star led his team to victory over the Memphis Grizzlies in Game 4 of their playoff series. On Tuesday, Sharpe reminded the world of James’ greatness.

James finished the game with 22 points and 20 rebounds. A stat that doesn’t seem possible for James to even reach at this stage in his career. However, James has put the “old” comments to bed in this series. James’ performance had Sharpe almost incoherent when describing the performance. On Tuesday’s edition of Undisputed, Sharpe compared James to the greatest pieces of entertainment fans have ever seen. Sharpe doesn’t believe anyone has or will be on James’ level. Check out Sharpe’s entire comments in the video below.

Shannon Sharpe Praise LeBron’s Recent Performance

However, Sharpe’s co-host Skip Bayless has a different idea of who the greatest NBA player of all time is. Bayless doesn’t believe anyone is on the level of Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan. In the video, you can see Shapre and Bayless become a little playful with one another over the debate. However, Sharpe wasn’t done comparing James to some of the other greatest of all time. This led Bayless to jokingly compare James to a baby in a manger from Bethlehem.

Maybe comparing James to Jesus Christ is a slight exaggeration. But nobody can deny what James’ legacy has done for the NBA. There are only a select few that can be considered in the conversation as the greatest of all time. James continues to rewrite history in his favor of the argument. Now another Finals run would put James in the category of one. Do you agree with Shannon Sharpe that James is the greatest of all time? Please tell us who you believe is the greatest play in NBA history in our comment section. For the latest NBA news, keep it right here at HNHH.

Shannon Sharpe Responds To Dillon Brooks’ Latest Comments

Shannon Sharpe has never been one to keep his opinions close to the chest. Shapre’s firey personality has always been of a media personality that wears his heart on his sleeve. One topic that is always going to incite a strong opinion from Sharpe would be LeBron James. Sharpe has long been a supporter of the Los Angeles Lakers star. Including being involved in a dust-up earlier this season with the team, the Lakers are currently playing in the playoffs. The Memphis Grizzlies have been out to prove their successful 2022-23 season isn’t just a one-hit-wonder.

The Grizzlies have a roster full of young talent. However, sometimes that young talent may tend to go overboard. After the team’s Game 2 victory over the Lakers, forward Dillon Brooks had some things to say about James and the Lakers. Brooks didn’t hold back his feelings on the opponent, calling James old. Also, Brooks said he wouldn’t respect James until he dropped 40. James didn’t drop 40, but the Lakers cruised to an easy Game 3 victory over the Grizzlies. Which included seeing Brooks get ejected for hitting James in a private area. After the game, Brooks told the media that he was being portrayed incorrectly by his recent actions. This is where Sharpe has drawn the line.

Shannon Sharpe Believes Brooks Can’t Handle The Heat

On Monday’s edition of Undisputed, Sharpe discussed Brooks’ latest comments. “Dillon Brooks talking about he doesn’t want the villain role, but you EMBRACE it when you win!” The NFL Hall-of-Famer doesn’t believe Brooks can handle what he dishes out when the Grizzlies are on the losing end. The lead-up to Game 3 had everyone in the league buzzing. The day before the matchup, James kept his comments short and sweet with the media. James explained that the time for talk was over and that the game would be a good one. But it may not be a good one for Grizzlies fans.

The Lakers answered the bell with their performance in Game 3. Brooks became a popular meme over the weekend with his visible frustrations on the bench. Including his reactions after being ejected. It seems that the “old” comments have been put to bed. As for Sharpe, he believes that it’s time for Brooks to embrace the villain role. Do you agree with Shannon Sharpe’s comments on Brooks? Shannon Sharpe On Joel Embiid’s Actions

Shannon Sharpe made Joel Embiid’s actions on Thursday night a topic of discussion on Friday. During Friday’s edition of Undisputed, Sharpe shared his thoughts on Embiid’s now-infamous kick. The Sixers big man kicked Nic Claxton of the Brooklyn Nets. Causing everyone in the NBA community to question why Embiid would do something like this. Embiid was not ejected from the game. Which has already drawn irritation from those in the Golden State Warriors fanbase.

However, Sharpe didn’t mince his words when discussing Embiid’s actions. “It was unnecessary, excessive, and he deserved a flagrant 2! He kicked a guy!” Indeed many have felt like the kick should have drawn Embiid’s ejection from the game. Instead, the officials later ejected James Harden from the game for a less than-abusive move than Emmbiid. Then later ejected Claxton for just staring down Embiid after a great play. Check out Sharpe’s full comments in the video below.

Shannon Sharpe Expects Punishment For Embiid

If anything, the biggest story of this game may be the officiating. The decision-making by the officials in the three most significant situations of the game felt way off. However, Sharpe still believes the NBA could take action with Embiid. Draymond Green was suspended for a much similar action when he stomped Kings big Domantas Sabonis. Many, including Charles Barkley, believe that Embiid’s actions were worse than Green’s. No matter the case, it feels as if the incident with Embiid is far from over. But, there has yet to be a comment made from the NBA on his actions.

Not only is Embiid now embroiled in this incident, but the Philly big man also suffered an injury in Thursday night’s game. Embiid had to leave the game but later returned with a back injury. After his return, it was visibly noticeable that the potential NBA MVP was in a lot of pain. So, do you agree with Shannon Sharpe on Embiid’s actions being unnecessary? Do you believe the NBA will suspend Embiid for Game 4? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section. For the latest NBA news, keep it right here with HNHH.

Shannon Sharpe Reveals Thoughts On Jalen Hurts Contract

Shannon Sharpe believes Jalen Hurts’ contract is more than earned. Hurts signed a 5-year $255 million contract extension with the Philadelphia Eagles. The contract makes Hurts the highest-paid player in the NFL. However, Sharpe sees this as more than a player getting their money. But the contract should be seen as a celebration for black athletes. Also, not just a celebration for black athletes. But for every black quarterback who was told they couldn’t play the position. Something we all know has been proven wrong time and time again.

“It’s good to see a Black man whether for a week or a month be the highest-paid player in the NFL,” Sharpe declared when discussing Hurts’ contract. The league has seen a lot of success recently with black quarterbacks in the league. Sharpe even mentioned some of the highlights. Including this past Super Bowl being the first time in league history that both starting quarterbacks were black. Also, Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes being MVPs of the league are major milestones.

Shannon Sharpe Says Hurts Contract Is A Success For Black Athletes

Not only is the Hurts contract a huge success for black athletes. But Hurts couldn’t have gotten this deal without a team full of successful women. From his agent and marketing campaign to his communication team. Hurts’ brand is ran entirely by women. Another huge milestone in the movement for equality in the NFL. Now the pressure could be on for Hurts to deliver a lot for the Eagles with his new contract. However, Hurts has always understood the pressure.

Hurts has been through so much adversity in his playing career already. So, playing with the weight of a franchise on his shoulders should be no issue. Hurts could even take a few notes from Shannon Sharpe. Sharpe is a Hall-of-Famer, and deservedly so. Hurts’ contract extension is just another step for black quarterbacks proving their value to this sport. Hopefully, this won’t be the last time a black athlete is the highest-paid player in the league. For the latest NFL news, keep it right here at HNHH.

Shannon Sharpe Reacts To Heated Westbrook Exchange With Fan

Shannon Sharpe had a few words for the Phoenix Suns organization on Monday. During Monday’s edition of Undisputed, co-hosts Sharpe and Skip Bayless spoke on an issue that happened Sunday night. During the Clippers-Suns game, a fan and Clippers guard Russell Westbrook shared a heated moment. A video has been circulating of Westbrook getting in the fan’s face before security stepped between the two. Sharpe spoke about how dangerous the situation could have been.

“Now that fans are back: Phoenix, cut it out. Do not let players walk thru the VIP section because you’re asking for trouble,” Sharpe stated. Sharpe makes a great point on the Suns needing to put a stop to letting players walk through the area. The situation between the fan and Westbrook could have been drastically worse. We’ve seen incidents with fans and players in the past that have gone too far. However, Westbrook restrained himself from taking it a step further.

Shannon Sharpe Says Suns Need To Make A Change

Action between fans and players has seemingly grown worse over the years. Just this season in the NBA, several players had to deal with issues with fans. Including one fan calling Toronto Raptors star Chirs Boucher a racist name. Sharpe makes a strong point on the Suns needing to make a change in how fans can interact with players. The change should be made far before there’s a dangerous incident that forces the franchise to make the change. It has yet to be reported what caused the incident to happen. However, it should have never gotten to that point anyway.

You would have to believe the Suns fan was a little hurt by Westbrook’s performance. Westbrook made a game-saving defensive play to give the Clippers the win on Sunday. The Clippers handed the Suns their first loss with their new superstar, Kevin Durant. The Suns-Clippers matchup looks destined to be a promising series. However, there is no need for fan interactions like the one we saw on Sunday. Do you agree with Shannon Sharpe that the Suns need to make an immediate change? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section. For the latest NBA news, keep it right here at HNHH.

Shannon Sharpe’s Hot Take On Westbrook-Paul Debate

Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless had an interesting debate on Friday’s edition of Undisputed. The co-hosts were given a difficult question to debate on. They were asked who has had the better career. Chris Paul or Russell Westbrook? Sharpe brought up many statistics that some may not have known on the similarities between the two. Obviously, neither superstar has won the NBA Championship. However, both have a career resume that will have them in the Hall-of-Fame one day. But just whose career has been better?

Sharpe stated that the question was a difficult one to answer. But ultimately, Sharpe chose Westbrook. Sharpe stated that, in his opinion, Westbrook wasn’t supposed to have the career he has had. While Paul had high expectations from the moment he was selected. Westbrook has defied many odds during his 15-year career. Including becoming the MVP of the league. However, Paul is no slouch and has earned many accolades during his time in the league. Check out the debate between Sharpe and Bayless below.

Shannon Sharpe Believes Westbrook Has Exceeded Expectations

Sharpe is of the belief that Paul has answered the call on his expectations. But that doesn’t mean that is a slight to the Phoenix point guard. Paul’s expectations were high, and he has absolutely delivered. A fact that led Bayless into choosing Paul during the debate. No matter what side of the aisle you stand on, no one can debate their greatness. Westbrook and Paul will both go down as some of the greats of their generation. Something that is difficult for anyone to achieve.

However, both are still not finished writing their legacy. The two will actually meet in the first round of the Western Conference Playoffs. The Suns and Clippers matchup will be can’t miss basketball. Potentially the winner of this series could become an NBA champion for the first time. So, who will earn the bragging rights between Westbrook and Paul? Are you on Shannon Sharpe’s side of this debate? Please leave us your thoughts on the debate in the comment section. Shannon Sharpe Reveals Team That Needs Lamar Jackson

Shannon Sharpe knows the talent that Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson possesses. However, it seems the rest of the league is too afraid to make a move to land the former MVP. On Thursday’s edition of Undisputed, Sharpe had one team in mind that would have massive benefits from adding Jackson. The Indianapolis Colts are in desperate need of stability at the quarterback secret. The franchise has even told the media they considered the possibility of adding Jackson to the team. However, the move was never made. Sharpe believes the move would be a perfect fit for both parties.

“They have a defense that’s ready to compete right now. They’ve been in QB hell since Andrew Luck retired,” Sharpe stated on Thursday. The Colts have been in a quarterback nightmare since the surprising retirement of Luck. However, that is to be expected when your franchise star abruptly leaves the game. But enough time has passed. The Colts quarterback play has hindered the franchise for too long. Plugging that desperate need for a talented QB like Jackson may just be the answer the franchise has longed to look for.

Shannon Sharpe Believes The Colts Are A Playoff Team With Jackson

The hesitancy on Jackson has been appalling by those around the league. Yes, the star quarterback has injury questions. However, Jackson, at 90%, is better than some starting quarterbacks in the league. The Ravens have stated they don’t plan on moving on from Jackson. The team recently brought in Odell Beckham Jr. to bolster up the receiver position. Obviously, the move was made in hopes that Jackson would happily return to the franchise. However, Jackson has yet to make a decision on his playing future.

Time is running out for the Colts to find a competent quarterback. But maybe the team is looking toward the NFL Draft to find their franchise quarterback. However, folks like Shannon Sharpe believe the answer is already in front of them. Should the Indianapolis Colts make a move for Lamar Jackson? Would Jackson make the Colts an instant Super Bowl favorite? Please give us your thoughts on the potential move in the comment section. For the latest NFL news, keep it right here with HNHH.

Shannon Sharpe Defends LeBron’s Legacy

Shannon Sharpe isn’t afraid to defend LeBron James’ legacy. Sharpe is of the firm belief that James is the greatest player to ever lace them up in the NBA. However, that doesn’t stop others from speaking on LeBron’s name. During Tuesday’s episode of Undisputed, Sharpe came to the defense of “The King” once again. James has just finished up his 20th regular season in the league. That accolade alone is a testament to the player that he is. However, he didn’t just play, he put up another great year of statistics.

LeBron made league history this season. Becoming the NBA’s all-time leading scorer. However, James is still a focal point for the Los Angeles Lakers. A fact that Sharpe brought up in his GOAT discussion. “LeBron’s legacy is etched in stone. Jordan missed the playoffs the last 2 years of his career, do you ding his legacy?” Sharpe does make a good point when discussing the differences between James and Jordan. Michael Jordan’s legacy is one of one. But it wasn’t always the best of times for the Chicago Bulls superstar.

Shannon Sharpe Stands Up For LeBron’s Legacy

Many are wondering if a first-round exit will tarnish LeBron’s legacy. The Lakers have had post-season struggles since winning the 2020 NBA Championship. 2020 feels like a lifetime ago in such a fast-paced world. However, Sharpe doesn’t see how this would tarnish a legacy. Sharpe even added Jordan didn’t even make the playoffs in his final two seasons with the Washington Wizards. Although the situations may be different, what LeBron is doing is still an amazing feat.

The discussion of who the greatest NBA player is can be exhausting. Instead of celebrating great players, many will attack to prove their point. There’s no secret which side Shannon Sharpe is on. Sharpe and many others continue to be amazed by what we see from James on a nightly basis. Maybe it’s time to celebrate these players while they are performing for our entertainment. Still, you probably have your favorite. So, who do you believe is the greatest of all time? Drop your opinion in the comment section. For the latest NBA news, keep it right here with HNHH.

Shannon Sharpe Reveals Feelings On Draymond-Gobert Drama

Shannon and Sharpe, and Skip Bayless discussed the Rudy Gobert incident. On Monday’s edition of Undisputed, the two discussed Gobert’s incident on Sunday. During the Timberwolves regular-season finale, Gobert threw a punch at teammate Kyle Anderson. The situation soon caught the attention of everyone in the NBA social media world. Including Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green. Once upon a time, Green was called out on Twitter by Gobert for an on-the-court incident with a teammate.

Now it seems as if Green is reciprocating the same treatment Gobert gave him. Green posted the same tweet that Gobert sent out in regard to his situation. “Insecurity is always loud…” A short message that carried a lot of weight. Gobert has been rumored to be a tough teammate to co-exist with. His pairing in Utah with Donovan Mitchell ended with both men going their separate ways. Now it seems Gobert is frustrated with some of his current teammates.

Shannon Sharpe Supports Draymond’s Actions

It feels like a rare moment when Bayless and Sharpe are on the same side of the fence. Both media legends feel Green had every right to retaliate against Gobert through social media. Bayless mentioned that Gobert had no right to stick himself in Green’s situation. Now it just looks like Green is giving it all back to Gobert. However, both men will be looking past this beef rather quickly. Because their respective team have both qualified for the playoffs. Sharpe is no stranger to finding himself in the middle of a beef. Including beef involving NBA superstars.

Shannon Sharpe knows exactly what talking trash and backing it up is. Sharpe is an NFL Hall-of-Famer whose play on the field certainly backed up his talk. Green can be put in that same category. Love him or hate him, Green has seen a lot of success in his time in the league. But Gobert, on the other hand, looks to be in a different mindset currently. Do you think Draymond’s comments were fair? Sound off with your thoughts in the comment section. For the latest news involving the NBA, keep it right here at HNHH.
