Stephen A. Smith Says He’s Proud Of Shannon Sharpe

June 13 marked the last time Shannon Sharpe would host UNDISPUTED. After seven years, the NFL Hall of Famer left the talk show he co-hosted with Skip Bayless. Reportedly, the relationship between Sharpe and Bayless had drastically deteriorated, prompting Sharpe to leave Fox for greener pastures. Sharpe’s final day was marked by the bizarre retweeting of an adult content creator and a moving behind-the-scenes video of his final broadcast.

Sharpe’s departure was yet another seismic shift in the sports media landscape. It came less than a month after Pat McAfee announced that he was leaving FanDuel to join ESPN. While many people have commented on Sharpe’s tearful departure, some of the most insightful thoughts came from Stephen A. Smith. Smith is in a unique position to comment, having also spent considerable time as a co-host to Bayless. The pair co-hosted First Take between 2012 and 2016.

Stephen A. Says He’s “Proud” Of Sharpe

Smith addressed Shannon Sharpe’s final day on his show. “Shannon Sharpe said goodbye on FS1. I’ll confess, I was a bit surprised. I was surprised at the tears. I was surprised at the emotion. I’m quite sure that some people out there thought it was fake as hell. And I was really, to be honest with you, I was proud at the way they ended their time together. And again, I’m assuming, because I don’t know, that the feelings weren’t everything that was expressed in Shannon Sharpe’s sign-off. Because in this business, you just don’t see things happen that abruptly.”

He continued. “But I got to tell you, it could not have been handled any better by Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless. That’s how you do it….Shannon brought up all the great points that he should have brought up, and there’s nobody on the planet that can relate to what Shannon Sharpe had to say to Skip Bayless better than me. And that is that.” Smith also praised Bayless for his role in forging numerous careers. Sharpe’s next landing spot is still unknown, but ESPN has been floated as a possibility. Shannon Sharpe Shares Behind The Scenes Video Of Last Day At Fox

Shannon Sharpe has officially left UNDISPUTED. After seven years, the NFL Hall of Famer left the talk show he co-hosted with Skip Bayless. Additionally, the relationship between Sharpe and Bayless had reportedly drastically deteriorated, prompting Sharpe to leave Fox for greener pastures. However, what those greener pastures actually are remains to be seen.

Sharpe tried to keep it together on his final show. However, as things began to wind down, Sharpe couldn’t hold back his emotions. “I’m here because of you,” Sharpe said to Bayless, fighting back tears. “You’ve allowed me to share the stage with you. You allowed me to share the platform. The opportunity that you gave me, to become what I became, I’m forever indebted to you. I’ll never forget what you did for me. You helped me grow more than you’ll ever know.” Later, Sharpe raised some eyebrows after retweeting a show of support from an adult content creator.

Sharpe Gives BTS Of Final UNDISPUTED Show

On June 14, Sharpe shared a nearly five-minute video of his final day at Fox. It starts with him pulling up and heading to his dressing room, which has been covered in balloons and pictures. He puts on his iconic yellow chequered suit and heads to make up before heading to the studio. Along the way, Sharpe hugs pretty much everyone he runs into. In the studio, he shares a few jokes with Skip Bayless before addressing the production crew and his daughter. He takes special care to shout out his dedicated assistant for all the work she’s done for him.

After filming, he heads to a small party that’s being thrown for him, complete with his favorite donuts. He toasts the crowd, finishing with “to 7 wonderful years and many more to come”. We see him signing out of the building and heading back to his car. Finally, we see Sharpe driving off into the future. Furthermore, the video was posted alongside a caption. “I can’t thank you all enough. From the people at Fox, to my Family, Friends, and loyal Followers. Join me as I go into my next chapter.”

Shannon Sharpe Tweets Before He Looks

There has been an outpouring of love for Sharpe in the hours after his final show. However, one response from the former tight end has raised some eyebrows. Sharpe responded “Appreciate the support” with three praying hands emojis in response to the Twitter account @lawalexisss saying “Undisputed is dead to me” in reply to a TMZ article about Sharpe’s tearful goodbye on UNDISPUTED. However, @lawalexisss is the sort of account that major media stars typically don’t interact with if they are looking to avoid controversy.

Alexis’ Twitter bio begins “Daddy’s princess 💎 | Law student 👩‍🎓 Probably I will save you from going to jail 💗.” Furthermore, her pinned tweet is a raunchy mirror selfie with the caption “Looking for someone to film a 🌽🎥 with for my page…” followed by a link to her Snipfeed account. Snipfeed is a site popular among adult content creators. Many people have pointed out in the comments that Sharpe likely meant to quote-tweet the TMZ article, rather than Alexis’ tweet. However, the tweet is still up at the time of writing. Maybe it was a mistake, maybe it wasn’t. However, what we do know is that it’s a hilarious way to leave your flagship show after seven years. Sharpe’s next landing spot is still unknown. Follow all the latest sports news here at HotNewHipHip.

Shannon Sharpe Tearfully Says Goodbye to ‘Undisputed’ and Thanks Skip Bayless

Shannon Sharpe’s run on Fox Sports’ Skip and Shannon: Undisputed is officially over. At the end of the June 13 show, Sharpe thanked all of the team members for FS1 and tearfully spoke highly of his time with Skip Bayless.

“Skip Bayless. You fought for me, brother. I’m here because of you. You’ve allowed me to share the stage with you. You’ve allowed me to share the platform. I’m going to cry in the car, but I’m not going to cry now. The opportunity that you gave me, to become what I became, I’m forever indebted to you. I’ll never forget what you did for me. You’ve helped me grow more than you’ll ever know. One more thing before you go, Skip. One more thing. All I ask, is when you lay your head of that pillow at night, know I gave you everything I had. I gave you everything I had.”

– Shannon Sharpe

In the wake of the departure of Shannon Sharpe from the popular FS1 talk show Undisputed, sports enthusiasts are eagerly speculating about who will step into the esteemed analyst’s shoes.

Fueling the rumors and intensifying the anticipation, Bovada, a renowned online sportsbook, has recently unveiled its live betting odds on who might join forces with the outspoken host, Skip Bayless, on the highly acclaimed show. Leading the way for Sharpe’s replacement is Sean Salisbury at +130, followed by Kendrick Perkins at +600.

The full run of odds is available below.

Sean Salisbury +130
Kendrick Perkins +600
Chris “Mad Dog” Russo +700
Nick Wright +700
Scottie Pippen +800
Chad Johnson +900
Brian Dawkins +900
Ray Lewis +900
Marcellus Wiley +900
Tom Brady +1500

Sharpe was long believed to work his way out of FS1, especially after he and Bayless clashed on air over Damar Hamlin’s injury.

Following a controversial tweet from Bayless about Hamlin’s injury, Sharpe did not show up to Undisputed. A day after his absence, Shannon Sharpe returned to the Undisputed desk, and the fireworks immediately went off between him and Bayless.

In a monologue, Sharpe explained his absence and stated he didn’t agree with Skip’s tweet. “Skip tweeted something and although I disagree with the tweet, and hopefully, Skip will take it down…”

Skip would interject and state, “Time out — I’m not going to take it down because I stand by what I tweeted.”

The two would go back and forth briefly before Shannon deflected to the show’s moderator to continue forward with the show.

You can see the moment below.

Shannon skipped the Tuesday broadcast, according to TMZ, because he was “upset” with Skip Bayless’s offensive Damar Hamlin tweet, in which he questioned why the NFL would postpone a crucial game so late in the season. The outlet added that the network is uncertain as to whether Sharpe will report for duty on Wednesday.

In the episode that aired the following Tuesday, Bayless took the opportunity to retract his remarks and explain his intentions.

The Post also notes Sharpe’s relationship with LeBron James, who Bayless relentlessly goes after, contributed to the departure.

Dwyane Wade Addresses 50/50 Finances Comments By Gabrielle Union

Every power couple is different, but even the most successful and wealthy ones can be subject to the same gender norms as any other. Moreover, pop culture saw a recent example of that in Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union. The latter revealed that she and Wade typically split finances 50/50, while also revealing some insecurity when it came to money. Now, the former basketball superstar revealed his own perspective on this to Shannon Sharpe on his Club Shay Shay podcast. During his remarks, he expressed confidence in her independence, dismissal of negative perspectives about manhood, and a desire to keep things equal and within each of their defined comfort zones.

“I haven’t given no color to this, but it’s thinkpieces going around about me as a man,” Dwyane Wade expressed before Sharpe teased him about it a little. “Let’s talk about it. So, the whole 50/50 concept, so I understand what 50/50 means. [It] means that everything in life, you got your half and I got my half. We’ll put this s**t together and try to make 100. That is not how our relationship works, all right? Everybody think 50/50, they think ‘Hey, if he gettin’ a sandwich, you gotta put 50% on that!’

Dwyane Wade Reflects On Splitting Finances With Gabrielle Union

“50/50 in our household is- first of all, let’s say that I have 20 to 50 responsibilities,” Dwyane Wade continued. “My wife has 20 to 50 responsibilities. When I say that, that means she has a mother, she has her sisters, she has her dad, she has a lot of things that she’s responsible for. You know what she does? She pays one hundred percent of that. You know what I do? I pay one hundred percent of my life. My wife is a working actress, spends time away from the family, we decided together. I think one time, we was in Miami, I said something about it being my house that I pay for. She said, ‘You will never say something like that to me again when it’s something that we share.’ So my wife was like ‘When we move to L.A., I got half on it.’

Further on in the interview, the 41-year-old spoke on splitting finances with everything related to taking care of their daughter. In addition, he also elaborated on Union also taking time to make lavish trips or special occasions all the more meaningful with her contributions. Overall, Sharpe was right in stating that such a formula works for them, and that’s the only thing that matters even if it was 85/15. Still, check back in with HNHH for the latest on Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union.

Shannon Sharpe Hit Heat With A Reality Check

Shannon Sharpe will be leaving Undisputed very shortly after the NBA Finals are over. However, he still has to come into work and sit across from Skip Bayless for the time being. Sure, these two may not like each other anymore, but commitments are commitments. In the final days of the show, some have argued that both look pretty tired and checked out. Overall, it is clear that this has all weight quite heavily on both of them. It is unfortunate, but that is just how it goes sometimes.

Moving forward, the NBA Finals are still going down, although they could very well end tonight. The Denver Nuggets are up 3-1 on the Miami Heat. Consequently, the Nuggets could win the NBA title tonight in their home arena. It would be a truly massive victory, and the fans want to see it come to fruition. On Undisputed this morning, Skip and Shannon spoke about that possibility. As you can see in the clips down below, Sharpe is quite positive that this series is going to be over by tonight.

Shannon Sharpe Says It’s Over

“You have to come to the realization that the team that’s winning is the better team. The Heat have overachieved and have reverted back to what they were in the regular season,” Sharpe explained. “It’s over. The only thing left to give in church is the benediction.” At this juncture, Shannon Sharpe does not have any faith in the Miami Heat. Ultimately, they have not been good in the NBA Finals. Game two saw them steal one, however, that was more on the Nuggets who gave up a big lead.

If the Nuggets do win this game, it will be huge for the legacy of Nikola Jokic. He could very well go down as one of the best centers to ever do it. Let us know what you think of Sharpe’s comments, down below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for more news and updates from around the sports world.

Stephen A. Smith Clarifies Shannon Sharpe Comments

Last week, Stephen A. Smith waded into the drama surrounding Shannon Sharpe’s abrupt exit from UNDISPUTED and Fox. Smith’s comments were taken as something of a backdoor invitation to try and woo Sharpe into joining him on First Take, Smith’s massively popular ESPN show.

“I don’t know what his plans are, I don’t know what he’s trying to pursue, I don’t know what he’s after. But if Shannon Sharpe needs me, I’m happy to be here for him,” Smith said on the Stephen A. Smith Show on June 2. “And if that included him wanting to come on First Take, the bosses at ESPN know that is something that I would support.” However, Smith has now clarified his comments as rampant speculation in recent days.

Stephen A. Smith Shouts Out ESPN Team

Speaking on The Stephen A. Smith Show, Smith clarified that he had not been looking to rustle any feathers with his comments. “Let me revisit a conversation that I had last week about Shannon Sharpe,” Smith began. “I meant what I said. I respect the brother. If he wants to come on First Take, I’m here for it. I support him. He wants to go elsewhere, that’s fine. He wants to get his own show and he’s got his own aspirations. I’m fine with that, too. Got a lot of respect again for Shannon Sharpe. But make no mistake about it, I love my crew.” Smith then proceeded to list all the various personalities that contribute to ESPN‘s coverage.

However, Smith continued. “And I would never ever ever sit up and tell anybody that I want anybody more than I want Michael Irvin. I welcome Shannon Sharpe to First Take. But it would be in the mix of being part of the family. I like the potpourri of contributors. I like the action and the excitement and the fun of the show. Adding people into the mix is one thing. Changing the complete makeup and formula of the show is entirely different and that ain’t happening for anyone.” Smith’s words make two things clear. Firstly, Shannon Sharpe moving to First Take would not see another personality leave. Secondly, if Sharpe wanted to join First Take, it would be on their terms and expectations, not his. Sharpe is yet to announce his next move but you can follow all the latest updates here at HotNewHipHop.

Stephen A. Smith Says He’d Support Shannon Sharpe Joining “First Take”

Stephen A. Smith says that he’d support Shannon Sharpe joining ESPN’s First Take after it was reported that the NFL legend reached a buyout agreement with FS1. His last show with Skip Bayless on Undisputed will likely come after the NBA Finals. Bayless previously served as a co-host of First Take with Stephen A. Smith from 2007–2016.

“I don’t know what his plans are, I don’t know what he’s trying to pursue, I don’t know what he’s after. But if Shannon Sharpe needs me, I’m happy to be here for him,” Smith said on the Stephen A. Shannon Sharpe has been hosting Undisputed alongside Skip Bayless since September 2016. There has been noticeable animosity growing between the co-hosts in recent months. The relationship reached a particularly low point after Bayless’ controversial tweet about Damaar Hamlin and his injury back in January.

More recently, the two got into a heated argument on air when Bayless made a comment noting that Tom Brady played until he was 45 years old while Sharpe retired at 35. “That’s what you do,” Sharpe responded. “Every time I call something into question, I get it … I did what I did! You make it seem like I was a bum! I’m in the effin’ Hall of Fame. I got three Super Bowls!”

Stephen A. Smith On Shannon Sharpe’s Future

Stephen A. Smith isn’t the only voice in sports media to express interest in working with Sharpe. Cam’ron also invited him to join his talk show, It Is What It Is. “Shannon, you definitely got a home here,” Cam’ron recently said. “Yo, listen my n***a, come to It Is What It Is n***a. You know how much bread we get? And you can be you because we being us. Shit would be well, my n***a.”
