Serena Williams is one of the biggest legends in the entire history of tennis. Overall, it is impossible to deny what she has done for the sport as a whole. Moreover, she recently retired from tennis, which was definitely a sad moment. Although her performance was on the decline, there was this sense that an entire era was coming to an end. Her dominance was over, and now, the sport of tennis will be taken over by others. Either way, the sport is a lot better off having her be a part of it for so long.

Since retiring, Serena Williams has subsequently been able to raise her family. She has one child with Alexis Ohanian. Their child has been a fixture at various sporting events, and they have always gone viral for it. However, it seems as though Williams will now be expanding her family. We know this because on Monday, she went to the Met Gala with Alexis Ohanian, all while sporting a baby bump. Moreover, in her Instagram post below, she made it clear that a second child is on the way.

“Was so excited when Anna Wintour invited the 3 of us to the Met Gala,” Serena Williams wrote on Instagram. Moreover, in terms of her outfit, she wore this interesting suit-dress hybrid from Gucci. Moreover, she had on jewelry from Tiffany and Co. Overall, it was a very interesting outfit that was complemented by Ohanian, who decided to go with an outfit that was very simple. Needless to say, he wanted his wife to get all of the shine last night.

As far as the Met Gala was concerned, there were some very interesting looks last night. Overall, Doja Cat seemingly stole the show here thanks to her cat get-up. Moreover, there were some great looks from Rihanna, A$AP Rocky, Ice Spice, and a whole lot more. Needless to say, it was one of the more peculiar Met Galas we have seen in a while, especially when you consider the theme. 41-year old tennis superstar Serena Williams is pregnant with her second child. Serena and her husband Alexis Ohanian attended the 2023 Met Gala Celebrating “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line Of Beauty” at The Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday, May 01, in New York City.

Serena showed off her baby bump, wearing a stunning black Gucci dress with rhinestones on the hem. Serena and Alexis share 5-year-old daughter, Alexis Olympia Jr.

The tennis legend first mentioned her pregnancy in a Vogue livestream while chatting with La La Anthony, according to DailyMail.com. She said there were three people there for the interview — herself, Alexis and the unborn baby. La La and Alexis offered to drink in Serena’s honor.

Afterwards, Serena shared a photo of herself and Alexis on Instagram. She captioned the post: “Was so excited when Anna Wintour invited the 3 of us to the Met Gala.”

Serena Williams Says Will Smith Deserves Forgiveness After Oscars Slap

Will Smith faced the wrath of cancel culture firsthand during the Oscars last year. The viral moment where he slapped Chris Rock across the face has been immortalized on the Internet. Many people continue to denounce Smith because of his actions. Others went as far as saying that he left them traumatized.

Though the incident left Will Smith banned from attending the award show for the next 10 years, he also won the first Oscar of his career. Smith took home the award for Best Actor for his role as Serena and Venus Williams’ father in King Richard. The win was not only significant for Smith but for the entire Williams family. 

Serena Williams recently sat down with Gayle King for CBS Morning where she opened up about the moment. She explained that she thought the film was “incredible,” while also showing love to Summer Of Soul, which won Best Documentary immediately after Will Smith slapped Chris Rock. However, her attitude towards Smith didn’t mirror the majority.

Williams explained that she feels more people need to offer compassion. She said that she’s also been in a position where she faced immense pressure and made mistakes in the process. Ultimately, she said Will Smith deserves forgiveness in the aftermath of the incident.

“​​I also feel that I’ve been in a position where I’ve been under a lot of pressure and made a tremendous amount of mistakes,” Williams said. “I’m the kind of person that’s like, I’ve been there, I’ve made a mistake, it’s not the end of the world. We’re all imperfect and we’re all human, and let’s just be kind to each other. And I think that’s often forgotten a lot.”

Since the Oscars, Will Smith’s publicly apologized on numerous occasions for his actions. He shared a statement days after the incident. Then, he provided a more in-depth apology in a video released in July, while adding that he tried to reach out to Chris Rock to personally apologize.

“There is no part of me that thinks that was the right way to behave in that moment,”  Smith said. “There’s no part of me that thinks that’s the optimal way to handle a feeling of disrespect or insults.”

Serena Williams’ US Open Run has come to a close. Friday night, Williams dropped her third-round match to Ajla Tomlajanovic in a three-hour 7-5, 6-7 (4), 6-1 match.

Following the match conclusion, Williams delivered a tearful statement on the court.

“Thank you daddy, I know you’re watching. Thanks mom,” Williams said. “Everyone that’s here, that’s been on my side, for so many years, decades…These are happy tears, I guess. I don’t know. And I wouldn’t be Serena if there wasn’t Venus, so thank you Venus. She’s the only reason Serena Williams ever existed … It’s been a fun ride. It’s been the most incredible ride and journey I’ve ever been on.”

SOURCE SPORTS: Serena Williams U.S. Open Match Sets New Attendance Record for the Event

Serena Williams’ last dance is bringing out the crowds. According to FrontOfficeSports, throughout the opening day of the U.S. Open, 71,332 fans visited the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. That is the second-highest attendance number of any day in the history of the event.

The opening night session, in which Williams took the court and won, set a record for the highest night-sessions attendance across matches in history. 29,402 fans were in attendance.

FOS notes a majority of the fans departed before or during the match that followed Serena Williams.

Williams will return to the U.S. Open on Wednesday as she is set to take on Anett Kontaveit, who is currently ranked second in the world.

No, That Wasn’t Beyoncé Cheering On Serena Williams At The US Open — It Was Laverne Cox

The US Open is always a big deal for tennis fans as the final Grand Slam tournament of the year, but this year, it’s extra special, as it is superstar Serena Williams’ final tournament before she retires at the age of 40. On Monday, she played her first match of the tournament against Danka Kovinić with a surfeit of celebrity supporters such as Anthony Anderson, Mike Tyson, Queen Latifah, and Spike Lee in attendance. One who was not, though, is Beyoncé… but that didn’t stop some commentators on television and Twitter from believing she was.

As it turned out, the reason for the confusion was actress Laverne Cox, who multiple broadcasts confused for the Renaissance singer. To be fair, Cox was — who actually previously worked with Beyoncé — wearing a mask and has been known to wear similarly-colored tresses to Queen Bey. That didn’t stop those who could tell the difference from correcting those who couldn’t in the most hilarious ways.

Although Beyoncé wasn’t in attendance in person, she was in spirit, as the US Open broadcast of the match opened with a tribute video to Serena featuring Beyoncé’s song “I Was Here.” Beyoncé also recently narrated a Gatorade ad detailing Williams’ accomplishments on and off the court. The singer previously contributed the song “Be Alive” to the biopic about Williams’ father, King Richard, performing the song from the Compton tennis courts where Williams got her start to open the 2022 Oscars.

Cox, meanwhile, enjoyed the attention, posting a compilation of the mistaken identity tweets on Instagram with the caption “not me getting mistaken for @Beyonce at the #USOpen tonight then trending on Twitter as the internet cackles over the mistaken identity. These tweets are funny as hell. Enjoy!!!”

Serena Williams plays her second match tomorrow (August 31) at 7 pm ET / 4 pm PT against Anett Kontaveit.

Serena Williams Wows U.S. Open In A Custom Diamond-Encrusted Dress

From beads to skin-tight dresses Serena Williams has been making fashion statements on the court throughout her legendary career.  And last night she didn’t disappoint debuting an instantly iconic outfit during last night’s U.S. Open. The 23-time Grand Slam winner said farewell and bid the tennis world a heartfelt adieu in high fashion and in true Serena style.   Serena, who defeated her opponent Danka Kovinic in the first match and what is expected to be her final professional tennis tournament, began her “evolution” (Serena refuses to call it retirement)  wearing NikeCourt Flare 2 sneakers that included a diamond-encrusted swoosh, solid gold shoelace tags and 400 hand-set diamonds—and that’s just on Serena’s sneakers. 

The outfit also included a removable cape and a matching jacket with star-shaped embellishments. The matching mommy and me Nike dress-her daughter Olympia was wearing the same replica, had diamonds and crystals embedded on the outside with a matching jacket and a tote bag.  

The figure skating-inspired Nike dress that she designed also in collaboration with her ‘Serena Williams Jewelry’ company was constructed of a six-layer skirt to commemorate her six singles at the U.S. Open throughout her career, only playing with two of the layers stating that wearing all the layers would have been “too heavy to play in” as she told Gayle King in an interview after the match. “For her latest outfit for Flushing, Serena took control, providing the full vision and dialing the details for a thrilling design created to make her feel comfortable and confident,”  Nike said in a statement.  According to Nike, Serena’s diamond-encrusted bodice  “refracts light and shines bright, alluding to the night sky at the tournament.

Gatorade Got Beyonce To Narrate A Special Serena Williams Ad For Her Final U.S. Open

Serena Williams will begin her final Grand Slam tennis tournament on Monday night when she takes on Danka Kovinic in the first round of the U.S. Open at 7:00 p.m. ET on center court at Arthur Ashe Stadium. Williams announced she will retire from tennis after the tournament earlier this summer, citing her desires off the court steadily pulling her away, from motherhood to business.

For arguably the greatest tennis player of all time, it will be quite the send-off at the tournament she has dominated since bursting onto the scene more than 20 years ago. Williams has six U.S. Open titles to her name and will be looking to add a seventh in storybook fashion — while also competing one more time with sister Venus in the doubles competition. But however her career ends, it will be a celebration of one of the great athletes of this generation, with plenty of tributes that figure to pour out in the next week-plus.

Among the first comes from her longtime sponsor Gatorade, which introduced a special S logo replacing their normal G for some U.S. Open gear, and tabbed Beyonce to narrate a video about her friend, celebrating the unapologetic manner in which Williams carried herself — her true self — for the world to see and millions of girls to look up to.
