Sean Kingston’s Florida Home Raided by SWAT and Mom Arrested for Fraud

39 facts about sean kingston 1691394968

Not a great way to go into the Memorial holiday weekend for Sean Kingston because his home in South Florida just got raided by police and a SWAT team on Thursday morning. The Broward Sheriff’s Office public information officer, Carey Codd, confirmed to multiple media outlets that detectives and the Davie Police SWAT team “served arrest and search warrants at a residence in Southwest Ranches” following an investigation.

The investigation led to the arrest of Kingston’s 62-year-old mother, Janice Turner, on multiple “fraud and theft charges.” Yikes. According to Local News 10, the “Beautiful Girls” singer was not at the property during the raid.

Details surrounding Turner’s arrest and whether Kingston will face charges remain unclear. But this all looks horrible. Earlier this month, according to court documents obtained by USA TODAY, Turner was sued in a civil lawsuit by Curran Living Trust for $100,000 in unpaid rent for a different location in Florida.

Sean Kingston, who gained fame with his hit single “Beautiful Girls” in 2007, is also facing legal troubles. In February, Ver Ver Entertainment sued him for breach of contract and fraud, alleging he failed to pay for a 232-inch TV and premium sound system. The company claimed Kingston used his celebrity status, including a purported connection to Justin Bieber, to negotiate a lower price. They are seeking $30,000 and attorney fees in a trial by jury.

Attorney Dennis Card, representing Ver Ver Entertainment, spoke to Local 10 News outside the raid on Thursday. “He basically has a sales pitch that he goes through to defraud people. He induces them into giving him really expensive things,” Card said. “We know that our property is inside this house right here, so as soon as the raid takes place we are going to have a crew of people in there to reassemble it and take it back to its rightful owner.”

Sean Kingston Was Arrested At His Own Concert On Fraud And Theft Charges, Shortly After His Mother Was Also Taken Into Custody

“Beautiful Girls” singer Sean Kingston was arrested at Fort Irwin in California’s Mojave Desert yesterday (May 23), immediately after performing a concert there, on fraud and theft charges, TMZ reports.

A company named Ver Ver Entertainment filed a civil complaint against Kingston and attorney Dennis Card, who represents the company, alleged (via Local 10), “He basically has a sales pitch that he goes through to defraud people. He induces them into giving him really expensive things. We know that our property is inside this house right here, so as soon as the raid takes place we are going to have a crew of people in there to reassemble it and take it back to its rightful owner.”

In terms of the raid Card mentioned: Kingston’s arrest followed a SWAT raid on his Florida home, where his mother, Janice Turner, was arrested. She was taken into custody on “numerous fraud and theft charges.”

The complaint from Ver Ver claims Kingston used his celebrity status to scam people out of products and services: In one alleged example, he partially paid for a television and entertainment system, but never paid for it in full following installation.

Following his mother’s arrest, Kingston wrote in an Instagram Story post yesterday, “People love negative energy! I am good and so is my mother!.. my lawyers are handling everything as we speak.”

Rapper Sean Kingston finds himself embroiled in yet another scandal. This time, his Miami home was raided, and his mother, Janice Turner, was arrested after a high-end electronics scam.

On Thursday morning, the usually serene neighborhood of Southwest Ranches was disrupted by a significant law enforcement presence. Deputies from the Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO), including SWAT team members, descended on Kingston’s residence, located near Southwest 146th Avenue and 46th Street. The dramatic scene included a command center set up in the driveway and more than a dozen deputies on site.

According to Local 10, the raid stems from a civil complaint filed by Ver Ver Entertainment, a company that accused Kingston, 34, of partially paying for a 232-inch television and high-end entertainment system. Despite the installation, Kingston allegedly never completed the payment. The complaint, obtained from the Broward Clerk of Courts, details how Kingston exploited his celebrity status to obtain the system without paying in full.

Attorney Dennis Card, representing Ver Ver Entertainment, elaborated on Kingston’s modus operandi: “He basically has a sales pitch that he goes through to defraud people. He induces them into giving him really expensive things,” Card told Local 10 News. “We know that our property is inside this house right here, so as soon as the raid takes place we are going to have a crew of people in there to reassemble it and take it back to its rightful owner.”

Kingston’s name has been repeatedly linked to similar scams, particularly involving jewelers. His pattern of using his fame to secure valuable items without paying has made headlines multiple times, tarnishing his reputation in the process.

While Kingston himself was not seen at the property during the raid, his relatives, including his mother Janice Turner, were present. Turner, 60, was taken into custody on numerous fraud and theft charges. Authorities stated that her arrest was part of an investigation initiated earlier that morning in Dania Beach.

Kingston’s relatives declined to comment when approached by Local 10 News, maintaining a tight-lipped stance amid the unfolding legal drama.

The latest incident has sparked conversations within the hip-hop community and among fans. Many are expressing disappointment, noting how Kingston’s continuous legal troubles overshadow his musical career. The rapper, known for hits like “Beautiful Girls,” has seen his public image increasingly dominated by these controversies.

Sean Kingston’s Home Raided By Police: What We Know

Law enforcement swarmed and raided Sean Kingston’s home in South Florida on Thursday morning amid an ongoing probe relating to fraud and theft charges, Page Six can confirm. The raid, involving multiple law enforcement agencies, targeted Kingston’s residence in Southwest Ranches and resulted in the arrest of his mother, Janice Turner. Moreover, the operation was part of an active investigation led by the Broward County Sheriff’s Office. Kingston, whose real name is Kisean Paul Anderson, was not present during the raid, as he was in transit from Los Angeles to Las Vegas following a performance. The specifics of the investigation and the full extent of Kingston’s involvement remain unclear at this time.

Details Of The Raid

The Broward County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that their investigation commenced early Thursday in Dania Beach, Florida, and subsequently extended to Kingston’s home. The raid involved several detectives from the Dania Beach District, the Strategic Investigations Unit, and a SWAT team. Local news outlets reported a significant police presence as they raided his home, with over a dozen deputies and a command center set up in Sean Kingston’s driveway.

Authorities served arrest and search warrants, leading to the detention of Kingston’s 61-year-old mother, Janice Turner, on multiple fraud and theft charges, per Local 10 News. The public information officer emphasized further that the investigation is ongoing, and more details will probably emerge as it progresses.

At the time of police raided his home, Sean Kingston was not at his Florida residence. He had posted on his Instagram Story on Wednesday, indicating he had just finished a show in Los Angeles and was heading to Las Vegas. This suggests that Kingston may have been unaware of the imminent police action at his home.

The “Beautiful Girls” singer is currently entangled in a legal dispute with Ver Ver Entertainment, which has sued him for failing to make payments on a 232-inch television installed at his Broward County home. Furthermore, court documents filed in February outline the allegations, with Ver Ver Entertainment accusing Kingston of fraudulent behavior to acquire expensive items without payment.

Dennis Card, the attorney representing Ver Ver Entertainment, described Kingston’s alleged tactics as a systematic fraud. Card stated, “He induces them into giving him really expensive things. We know that our property is inside this house right here, so as soon as the raid takes place, we are going to have a crew of people in there to reassemble it and take it back to its rightful owner.”

This recent raid is not Kingston’s first encounter with legal issues regarding his financial dealings. In 2016, he was sued for $300,000 for jewels he allegedly could not afford. Additionally, a separate Florida jeweler took legal action against him for $48,000 worth of unpaid goods. In 2015, a court ordered Kingston to pay over $356,000 to Avi Da Jeweler, a New York-based jeweler, for bounced checks related to watches. Kingston’s penchant for a lavish lifestyle, including high-value watches, custom beds, and state-of-the-art electronics, has undoubtedly brought him into conflict with creditors and legal authorities. His legal representatives have yet to comment on the latest developments.

What’s Next?

As the investigation continues, questions remain about whether Sean Kingston himself will face arrest. Law enforcement has not confirmed whether one of the arrest warrants issued was for Kingston or if plans are in place to detain him in connection with the fraud and theft charges involving his mother. However, he has since responded to the raid, writing, “People love negative energy! I am good and so is my mother! My lawyers are handling everything as we speak. Fans and observers alike will be pay close attention as more information comes to light and as Kingston potentially navigates yet another legal storm.

Sean Kingston Sued for 900K Over Two Unpaid Luxury Watches

sean kingston1

Sean Kingston is headed to court over designer watches that he has not paid for.

According to The Blast, Kingston is being sued by Dream Watch after he secured watches for himself. The watches were a $534,000 Richard Mille and the second a Phillippe Calibre that cost $378,000, a combined $912,000.

The company also states Kingston had a representative from the company fly from Malaysia to Kingston’s home in California to deliver the watches.

Kingstone agreed to buy the watches on May 9, agreeing to send the money over by wire transfer. The transfer was declined, and he stated his account was frozen. Kingston would eventually stop corresponding with the company, never paying the money.
