Travis Scott’s “DAYS BEFORE RODEO” Sees Historic Drop-Off In Second Week On The Charts

Travis Scott had fans in a chokehold at the end of August thanks to the reissuing of DAYS BEFORE RODEO. Fans have wanted the 2014 mixtape on streaming for years and they finally got their wish on August 23, five days after its 10-year anniversary. Outside of just streaming the project, his followers also came through in the sales department in its first week. It would go on to have the biggest debut for any hip-hop record this year, moving 361,000 copies. Furthermore, there was some real belief that it would go onto reach the top spot on the charts and outperform one of pop’s biggest acts.

Sabrina Carpenter’s highly anticipated Short n’ Sweet would barely squeeze past the decade-old tape by 1,000 units, but unfairly in the eyes of his fans and the Cactus Jack label. In fact, both sources claim that there was a miscount; however, there was a complicated mix-up, which you can read about here. Regardless of the slightly disappointing final results, the rerelease was a major success in a lot of ways. However, the same cannot be said this week for Travis Scott’s DAYS BEFORE RODEO.

This Isn’t A Good Look For Travis Scott After The Sales Debacle

According to HipHopDX and chart data, DBR has endured the “biggest percent decline for an album remaining on the Billboard 200 this decade”. Sales are down 94.7% which is of course not good, but also plain surprising. Because of this, the project has plummeted to 30 on the Billboard Hot 200. It makes it even worse when you compare it to the performance of Sabrina’s album in week two. It stayed at number one this time through with 156,000 album equivalent units. Nicki Minaj has to be cackling right about now.

What are your thoughts on Travis Scott’s DAYS BEFORE RODEO suffering a historic drop-off in its second week? Is this a bad look after the sales dispute with Billboard, why or why not? Do you think that this had anything to do with this massive decrease in sales? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Lil Wayne’s “Tha Fix Before Tha VI” First Week Sales Revealed

Last week, Lil Wayne dropped off his new album, Tha Fix Before Tha VI. The project includes features from Fousheé, Euro, and Jon Batiste. The 10-track effort was intended as something to hold fans over ahead of the eagerly-anticipated release of Tha Carter VI.

Tha Fix Before Tha VI is also his first solo project since his 2020 mixtape, No Ceilings. Fans were looking forward to hearing the project, which features his September release, “Kat Food.” Now, the album’s first week sales number are in. It’s been revealed that Tha Fix Before Tha VI sold 19K album-equivalent units.

Lil Wayne’s Tha Fix Before Tha VI Sells 19K First Week

The number has come as somewhat of a shock to some fans, who would have expected the icon to sell far more. With that being said, plenty of others note that he didn’t do much in terms of promotion for the project. Instead, many think he’s been focusing his attention on hype surrounding Tha Carter VI. Despite countless fans coming to Wayne’s defense, the project has managed to spark some concern surrounding what’s to come on the next installment of Tha Carter series.

One person who seems to be into the Louisiana-born performer’s new releases is Eminem. The hitmaker took to social media to compliment a few of Lil Wayne’s lyrics from his verse on YG and Tyga’s track “Brand New” from Hit Me When U Leave The Klub: The Playlist. “‘Got a bunch of zeros like a bag of new funyuns!!’ F*CK why didn’t I think of that????” Eminem Tweeted last week. As expected, this prompted countless responses from fans, dropping their own favorite Lil Wayne lyrics in his replies. What do you think Lil Wayne’s new album? Are you surprised by its first week sales? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates on Lil Wayne.

Eminem Makes History With His Latest Sales Milestone

When you are deciding who to crown as the best rapper of all time, there are a lot of choices. It also depends on what you value the most. Do you place more weight on rapping ability, their discography, how many copies they have sold, etc.. Names that immediately come to mind for most hip-hop heads are Tupac, Jay-Z, Nas, and Biggie. Eminem is someone else some consider to be the G.O.A.T., but now there might be more people who jump on that bandwagon.

HipHopDX has just confirmed that “The Real Slim Shady” eclipsed the top 10 list for the best-selling artists of all time. This a major achievement for Eminem that can add to his long list of accomplishments. The soon-to-be 51-year-old Detroit native can attribute this milestone to all of the hard work he has put in throughout his over two-decade-long career. He moves ahead of the rock band, Led Zepplin, hitting the 207,262,000 total sales mark. This includes everything from albums, singles, and and streaming.

Not surprisingly, The Beatles are wiping out the competition with over 423 million sales. Michael Jackson is the closest with 338 million sales. What is even crazier is that no other rapper besides Em is in the top 40. Drake is really close though in the 41st spot with a little over 120 million. Congratulations to Eminem for this truly astounding achievement.

What are your initial thoughts on Eminem reaching the top 10 list of the highest-selling artists of all time? Does this prove he is the greatest rapper of all time? Which Eminem project is your favorite? We want to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below. NBA YoungBoy Blasts DJ Akademiks For Thinking He Cares About Numbers

NBA YoungBoy just lit a fire online (albeit an unsurprising one), and doused some gasoline on it on Instagram Live. Moreover, the rapper took to the social media platform following his bold Twitter disses towards Lil Durk, DJ Akademiks, and India Royale. However, it seems like Ak was the main target of YB’s ire this time around, as he previously focused on Durk and their upcoming sales battle this week. Furthermore, the Baton Rouge MC fired off at the media personality for assuming that he’s throwing these jabs out to get more numbers behind his upcoming mixtape. All in all, it feels like he’d be happy with ten album sales if it meant speaking his mind.

“This p***y a** n***a Akademiks,” YoungBoy began his rant, which he embarked on while playing his music. “Actin’ like I give a f**k about numbers. B***h, I just dropped two weeks ago. This p***y n***a finna drop. B***h, I ain’t worried about no numbers, n***a. B***h a** n***a, big bank take lil’ bank. Your stupid drink face a**. That’s all you like to do, b***h, is get drunk and talk s**t. That one gon’ get you f***ed up.” He seemingly didn’t address Durk directly, who already responded to him, it seems.

NBA YoungBoy Fires Off On DJ Akademiks On Instagram Live

Meanwhile, Akademiks had this to say concerning YoungBoy’s Twitter tirades. “Lol I never thought I see the day my homie diss me cuz his sales low,” he posted on Twitter. “This rap game is the devil lol. Youngboy I forgive u man. We can get them sales up otherwise… lol. But ok. Capitol Records I blame u for this… y’all pressuring YB to get some sales he doing anything. Get my boy off house arrest tho. YB the last rapper I thought would ever do some s**t for sales. But damn. Go buy his album it drops Friday… He’s tryna outsell Lil Durk. I still love him thc. Buy his project.”

Of course, the main event at this showdown is between the Don’t Try This At Home MC and Lil Durk, who will drop his album Almost Healed the same day as YB’s mixtape Richest Opp. Though fans hoped they had put their differences aside, it seems like it’s just business as usual for the two. Hopefully rap fans still get two great projects as a result, and this spat doesn’t get any uglier. On that note, if you want the latest updates and news on NBA YoungBoy, stick around on HNHH.
