Eminem Makes History With His Latest Sales Milestone

When you are deciding who to crown as the best rapper of all time, there are a lot of choices. It also depends on what you value the most. Do you place more weight on rapping ability, their discography, how many copies they have sold, etc.. Names that immediately come to mind for most hip-hop heads are Tupac, Jay-Z, Nas, and Biggie. Eminem is someone else some consider to be the G.O.A.T., but now there might be more people who jump on that bandwagon.

HipHopDX has just confirmed that “The Real Slim Shady” eclipsed the top 10 list for the best-selling artists of all time. This a major achievement for Eminem that can add to his long list of accomplishments. The soon-to-be 51-year-old Detroit native can attribute this milestone to all of the hard work he has put in throughout his over two-decade-long career. He moves ahead of the rock band, Led Zepplin, hitting the 207,262,000 total sales mark. This includes everything from albums, singles, and and streaming.

Not surprisingly, The Beatles are wiping out the competition with over 423 million sales. Michael Jackson is the closest with 338 million sales. What is even crazier is that no other rapper besides Em is in the top 40. Drake is really close though in the 41st spot with a little over 120 million. Congratulations to Eminem for this truly astounding achievement.

Cordae Questions Bootleg Kev About Not Making His Top 10 Rappers Or Albums Lists

There are so many “Top” lists floating around in Hip Hop it’s hard to keep up, but Cordae has a few questions for Bootleg Kev. The most recent controversy was sparked after Billboard and Vibe came together to name their Top 50 Greatest Rappers of All Time. This took over Hip Hop social media spaces, but it isn’t the first—and most certainly won’t be the last—time conversations such as these erupt online.

Cordae caught up with Bootleg Kev for an intimate interview, and during the chat, he brought up the host’s Best Rappers of 2022 choices. The list consisted of the following, from 10 to the No. 1 spot: LaRussell, Future, Conway, Symba, Drake, Freddie Gibbs, Kendrick Lamar, J.I.D, 38 Spesh, and reigning supreme, Pusha T. “Also, how did I not make your Top 10 list last year, bro?” Cordae asked. “It’s cool, I’m just asking.” Kev wanted to know if he was speaking about the rappers or album lists. “Damn, I didn’t make either!?” the rapper playfully responded.

Cordae Questions His Exclusion

“I mean, it was a good year last year. I didn’t think you had a Top 10 album [From a Bird’s Eye View] last year. I think you had about a Top 20,” said Kev. Cordae expressed he respected the answer and emphasized he wasn’t in his feelings about the exclusion. Kev added, “And on the rapping sh*t, I just think the rapping list was tough, man. There was a lot of rapping.”

As conversations were happening between Kev and someone off-camera, Cordae chimed in. “Ay, a lotta love to everybody, man. I’m not—I just…I didn’t even know until he told me right before we walked in. ‘You know you ain’t make Kev’s Top 10?’ It’s cool, bro.” Kev said several people he considers friends, including Benny The Butcher, didn’t even make his list.

Bootleg Kev Explains His Choices

“My thing, like, last year, I put a guy like Symba on the list ’cause Symba did the rapper sh*t last year,” Kev explained. “That motherf*cker did every outlet. He had moments on these f*ckin’ outlets. When I saw Symba like, ‘Yo, I’m tryin’ to make sure y’all see me as the motherf*cker. So, I’mma go rap everywhere.’ And he put out a cool project.” Kev admitted that Symba had a bone to pick after his album didn’t make Kev’s Top 10 list, either. Check it out above.
