“Rolling Loud is deeply honored to be the first-ever music festival to take place at the incredible Hollywood Park,” said Rolling Loud co-Founders and co-CEOs Matt Zingler & Tariq Cherif. “We’re pumped to return to L.A. and make our debut in Inglewood, such an important neighborhood in rap history. Rolling Loud California 2023 follows 2021’s Rolling Loud in San Bernardino but making a return to South Central Los Angeles. South Central Los Angeles, one of the most influential areas in the history of rap music, gave rise to countless rap legends and contributed to defining the genre’s style. Inglewood produced West Coast stalwarts like Mack 10 and Shade Sheist, as well as modern artists like Omarion, D Smoke, SiR, and more. It also earned shoutouts from Dr. Dre on “California Love” and “The Next Episode.” Rolling Loud California brings together some of the biggest artists in the genre from all over to close down Hollywood Park to commemorate the rich history of West Coast hip-hop, pay tribute to its icons, and promote its new stars.

“As the world’s largest hip-hop festival, Rolling Loud will bring fans from around the globe to our Inglewood community,” said Jason Gannon, managing director, SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park. “Hollywood Park’s 300-acres lends itself to hosting a variety of large-scale events. With Rolling Loud as our first music festival, we will further showcase Hollywood Park as a global stage and multifaceted entertainment destination.”

The biggest live rap brand, Rolling Loud, will perform more concerts in 2022 before returning to Los Angeles, including the first Rolling Loud Toronto, which will feature Future, WizKid, and Dave as headliners, on September 9th–11th. Two weeks later, the festival will return to New York for Rolling Loud New York 2022, its third New York festival featuring Nicki Minaj, A$AP Rocky, and Future.

Rolling Loud Announces Its 2023 LA Dates — Along With A New Location For This Years’ Event

As a traveling hip-hop festival, Rolling Loud has had to change locations plenty of times, but usually, that’s just the city in question. Over the years, it’s gone from raging in Miami to taking over New York City and has even gone international with events in Toronto and Portugal. But ever since its first event in Los Angeles, it’s had to move venues with each successive year as it scales up and works around COVID-19 regulations, going from Banc Of California Stadium to San Bernardino’s National Orange Show Event Center.

The next event just might prove to be its biggest yet as it changes venues yet again. Today, the fest’s organizers announced the dates for the next Los Angeles-based event as well as its new venue: the Hollywood Park grounds in Inglewood, adjacent to the recently built SoFi Stadium in Inglewood. The show is scheduled for March 3-5, 2023 — which means no LA festival in 2022, but it’ll be the first time the fest takes place in LA since 2019 after 2020’s iteration was canceled due to COVID.

In addition to announcing the dates and new location, Rolling Loud also shared the pre-sale registration link. Stay tuned to find out whether Future ends up headlining yet another Rolling Loud when the show returns to within the Los Angeles city limits.

Rolling Loud Adds Playboi Carti to New York Festival Lineup

Rolling Loud has added Playboi Carti to the already impressive lineup of Rolling Loud New York 2022. Carti will join headliners Nicki Minaj, A$AP Rocky, and Future in New York. Rolling Loud New York, the third iteration of the festival to visit the home of hip-hop, will take place at Citi Field in Queens from September 23–25.

Also set for the New York date are Lil Baby, Lil Uzi Vert, 21 Savage, and Moneybagg Yo. New York will be represented by A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Lil Tecca, and Fivio Foreign. Legends like Pusha T, Busta Rhymes, and Fat Joe are on the bill. While the ladies of BIA, DreamDoll, Kali, and Lakeyah will also perform.

Rolling Loud, the world’s largest rap festival, has had a successful year thus far, highlighted by Rolling Loud Miami in July, which attracted hundreds of the genre’s top stars to Hard Rock Stadium along with headliners Kid Cudi, Future, and Kendrick Lamar. This year, Rolling Loud has expanded internationally outside Miami. Rolling Loud presents the inaugural Rolling Loud Toronto in September, including a diverse group of A-list performers from around the world, including the headliner acts Future, WizKid, and Dave. This summer, Rolling Loud had its first two European festivals in Portugal and the Netherlands, and it has ambitions to expand to Thailand the following year.

Kendrick Lamar Saw The Crying Security Guard From His Show And Wonders What He Was Going Through

Over the weekend, Kendrick Lamar headlined Rolling Loud in Miami, where he brought out surprise guest Kodak Black to perform their collaboration “Silent Hill” from Kendrick’s recently released album, Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers. But while he was there, he also did something nearly equally important, granting an interview to budding juvenile journalist Jazlyn “Jazzy’s World” Guerra.

In a snippet posted to Instagram, Jazzy, whose interviews with big-name artists like Jay-Z, J. Cole, and Cardi B are rapidly taking on the cultural impact of similarly enthusiastic music reporters Nardwuar and Sean Evans, asks Kendrick about a viral video of a security guard at one of his Mr. Morale tour stops shedding a tear while K. Dot performed the song “Love” from his Pulitzer Prize-winning 2017 album DAMN.

“It’s really just about the feeling of it at the end of the day,” he replies. “Past all the politics, past all the numbers. It’s what music makes you feel, how it makes you feel. So to see that … And shout-out to him by the way because I seen bro. I was like, ‘Man, I wonder what he going through?’ But at the end of the day, that’s how you want everybody to receive your music.”

Maybe someday soon, Kendrick will get to ask — or the security guard himself will come forward with his real explanation. Meanwhile, the full episode of Jazzy’s World hits YouTube tomorrow.

Future Brought Out Travis Scott At Rolling Loud After The Festival Said He Was Not Banned From The Miami Show

The first day of Rolling Loud’s 2022 Miami Festival was a bit rocky for a couple of reasons. First, Kanye West, who was supposed to headline the first day but canceled at the last second, still appeared at the show as a guest during Lil Durk’s set. Elsewhere, Kid Cudi made an early exit from his headlining slot after fans refused to stop throwing objects at him. Day two proved to be a bit better, and the highlight of the day came when Future brought out Travis Scott to perform some songs during his headlining slot.

The two kicked things off with a performance of “Hold That Heat,” a record by producer Southside that both Future and Travis guest featured on. Elsewhere, Travis also performed “Goosebumps,” and he seemed extremely happy to be back performing on the big stage during it. Travis even lent some vocals to Future as he performed “March Madness.”

Travis’ surprise Rolling Loud appearance comes after the festival denied that he was banned from the Miami show. Furthermore, a spokesperson for Rolling Loud said that the festival even tried to have Travis headline the show, but it proved to be too difficult to do with too little time. “We reached out to Travis to headline Rolling Loud, but it couldn’t work in such a short time,” the spokesperson said. “This had nothing to do with any restrictions from the hosting venue Hard Rock Stadium.”

You can watch videos from Travis’ surprise appearance above.
