ASAP Rocky ‘Can’t Even Describe’ How Thrilled He Is About Being A Parent Alongside Rihanna

There are many things rapper ASAP Rocky has to be thankful for this holiday season, most notably his budding new family with music superstar Rihanna. Shortly after going public with their relationship, the couple welcomed their first child in the world in May.

With assault charges and a civil lawsuit lingering over the Harlem native’s head, Rocky is devoting every waking second to his infant son. The “Sh*ttin Me” rapper spoke with Complex‘s Jessica McKinney about how fatherhood has been treating him. This isn’t the first time Rocky has opened up, but it has been the most lengthy statement.

Rocky gushed, “It’s beautiful,” before adding, “Honestly, I think fatherhood gives me more time to do exactly what I want. I don’t have time for anything that isn’t priorities. It helps you prioritize, honestly. I love it. Everything is just based around my newfound love for being a dad and a family man. It’s lit right now. I can’t even describe it. Yo, you see this smile! I’m all smiles right now, man.”

When the rapper isn’t wrapped up in his responsibilities as a father, he’s expanding his budding fashion empire. According to Rocky, that’s precisely how he likes it: “I’m in a place where I want to give my all to all of this. All I have is my craft, my art, and my family. That’s just my life. I just want to give motherf*ckers some dope sh*t. They’re going to see. It’s going to be ill.”

Rihanna Fans Debate What Songs She Should (And Shouldn’t) Perform At Her Super Bowl Halftime Show

Rihanna was officially confirmed as the headliner for the NFL’s 2023 Super Bowl Halftime Show over the weekend. Following the announcement, fans were understandably excited for her to make a musical return in a massive way — her last album dropped in 2016. Still, Rihanna has countless hits spanning several records, which sparked a divisive question online: what would (or should) her setlist look like?

While it’s currently unclear if Rihanna will be playing solo for the halftime show’s entirety or be considering special guests, it seems that the NFL might be pushing her to bring some surprise stars on stage. According to TMZ, there is currently a list of over 50 performers that could join her, but nothing has been confirmed. Rihanna’s collaborations — which include Drake, Jay-Z, Britney Spears, Paul McCartney, and Kanye West — could find themselves making a potential appearance as well.

After Billboard published a piece about what they think Rihanna’s set should be, many fans were confused by some clear omissions, including “Kiss It Better” and her debut single “Pon De Replay.” On social media, other publications asked Rihanna’s Navy fan base directly on what songs they think she should perform. Continue scrolling to see some of the fan reactions, which include everything from her massive hits to some hidden gems meant for the fans.

Rachel Dolezal’s OnlyFans Account Is A Tribute To Rihanna’s Fenty Lingerie

Rihanna’s name has been everywhere over the past few days after the 34-year-old shared the exciting news on Sunday (September 25) that she’ll be performing at next year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show.

Since then, we’ve seen the Bad Gal hit up the studio with her boyfriend A$AP Rocky to prepare for her upcoming return to the stage, and now, she’s being linked to a wildly unexpected place – Rachel Dolezal’s OnlyFans account.

On Monday (September 26) evening, leaked photos surfaced online from the controversial activist’s NSFW account, revealing that some of the content she shares on her profile finds her posing in lingerie from Rihanna’s Savage x Fenty line.

“Welcome to my OnlyFans page, where I post creative content and interact with fans more than on any other platform,” Dolezal’s bio reads. “Subscribers get to see how my sensual side pairs with my creative spirit through intimate images inspired by colour, light, and lingerie on the weekends.”

After the photos surfaced online, several social media users expressed shock over seeing the 44-year-old acting so provocatively, but as TMZ reminds us, she’s not exactly a stranger to controversy.

As you may remember, Dolezal was swept up in the middle of major backlash in 2015 after she was outed for posing as a Black woman for years, despite being born to two white parents.

After the truth came to light, the OF creator stepped down from her position with the NAACP, although it’s been noted that she still openly identifies as an African-American woman.

Did Rihanna Ever Turn Down A Super Bowl Halftime Show?

Yesterday, Rihanna announced that she is performing for the 2023 Super Bowl’s Halftime Show, with none other than a cryptic Instagram post of her hand holding a football. The news was eventually confirmed by the NFL, both on social media and in statements.

“We are thrilled to welcome Rihanna to the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show stage,” NFL Head of Music Seth Dudowsky said in a statement. “Rihanna is a once-in-a-generation artist who has been a cultural force throughout her career. We look forward to collaborating with Rihanna, Roc Nation, and Apple Music to bring fans another historic Halftime Show performance.”

However, Rihanna actually had an opportunity to play the halftime show years earlier — and turned it down. She was originally considered to play in February 2019, instead of Maroon 5. She declined the deal to stand in solidarity with Colin Kaepernick, who protested racial injustice as a 49ers player in 2016. (According to The Guardian, he settled a case with the NFL after claiming he was “blackballed” following his kneeling peaceful protest. He left the team in 2017.)

“Absolutely,” she told Vogue in an interview from October 2019, after being asked if that’s why she declined. “I couldn’t dare do that. For what? Who gains from that? Not my people. I just couldn’t be a sellout. I couldn’t be an enabler. There’s things within that organization that I do not agree with at all, and I was not about to go and be of service to them in any way.”

A few years later, Rihanna finally accepted the offer. She also returned to Vogue in April for a cover story, ahead of the birth of her first child. The interview seems to hint at why she accepted the halftime show — and might even say yes to putting new music out. “I think I even say yes to more now,” Rihanna said, “because I know it will be different on the other side of this. At first, I expected some magical change, but really I remain who I am.”

Super Bowl LVII will take place on 2/12/2023 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

ASAP Rocky Addresses His Short Rolling Loud New York Set: ‘I Am So Hurt Right Now’

A$AP Rocky teased that Rolling Loud in New York City’s Citi Field on Saturday night (September 24) would be “his last show until the album.” Turns out, Rocky’s fans will only have 30 minutes to tide them over. The Harlem-bred rapper expressed disappointment over his short set that saw him bring out Glorilla and French Montana.

“I am so hurt right now!” Rocky wrote in a note posted to Twitter on Sunday afternoon (September 25). “Last night was supposed to be a turning point in my live shows from the old to new! I will take full responsibility for the circumstances of what led to last nights show being everything it was and everything it wasn’t.”

The 33-year-old continued: “I also want to acknowledge that even tho I prepared the best show for my fans, detail for detail , over the course of MONTHS… I was unfortunately not able to bring my vision to fruition and Im hurt about that and I want to apologize to all of my fans and continued supporters, and thank y’all for showing up for me regardless!! A$AP4EVA.”

According to TMZ, Rocky was supposed to begin his set at 8:55 p.m. local time “but didn’t go on until a good 45 minutes later,” and the set was cut short by Rolling Loud organizers “because of a noise ordinance.”

Rocky took the stage with “Grim Freestyle” followed by “Lord Pretty Flacko Jodye 2.” Midway through, he performed “Sights,” his new collaborative single with Playboi Carti, for the first time. Then, Glorilla joined for a rendition of her breakthrough hit “FNF (Let’s Go),” and Rocky closed out the abbreviated set alongside French Montana for “Mopstick.”

Throughout, Rocky spent time between songs calling for fans to “open that b*tch” for mosh pits, which resulted in the meme treatment. Tyler, the Creator went as far as switching his Instagram profile picture to the circulating photo of a struggling Rocky in the subpar pit.

Rocky didn’t have to endure the internet’s wrath for too long, though. Shortly after posting his apology, Rihanna confirmed she is the halftime performer for Super Bowl LVII on February 12, 2023. The couple welcomed their first child earlier this year.

Dr. Dre Offers Advice To Rihanna For Her First Super Bowl Halftime Show Performance

For just about a literal minute, it looked like Taylor Swift was going to headline the Super Bowl LVII halftime show, at Arizona’s State Farm Stadium on February 12, 2023. That’s what reports said, but those reports were quickly followed by others indicating Swift isn’t actually taking the field. Not long after that, though, the world learned who is actually taking over Super Bowl halftime in 2023: Rihanna.

Dr. Dre — who did this year’s Emmy-winning halftime show alongside Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, and Mary J. Blige — knows what he’s doing on that front, so he has given Rihanna some advice.

In an interview with Apple Music 1 host Ebro Darden (as NME notes), Dre offered, ““Put the right people around you and have fun. That’s basically what it is, making sure you have the right creative people around you. She might want to look into some of the people that we used to do our show.”

He also had some general praise for Rihanna, saying of his admiration of her, “I just like her and what she does, and her get down, and how she approaches her artistry and the whole nine. It’s fantastic. She has the opportunity to really blow us away. I know we set the bar extremely high.”
