Rihanna Teases Upcoming Super Bowl Halftime Performance

While the team matchup may not be known yet, one thing is certain: this year’s Super Bowl halftime show, which features Rihanna as the leading performer, will be spectacular.

Rihanna took to social media to tease her upcoming appearance and show off a limited edition Super Bowl-inspired piece from her Fenty collection earlier this week.

Both NFL and Apple Music shared a short clip on their Instagrams of Rihanna in her Super Bowl-themed black hoodie with the photo of her arm holding a football. (It’s the same photo she used to announce her Super Bowl halftime performance.)

The caption reads, “5 weeks from today,” followed by two fire emojis.

Rihanna has also added a new Game Day Collection to her Fenty brand, complete with sweatshirts, t-shirts, boxers, loungewear, and more to commemorate her halftime performance.

This is the first year Apple Music will sponsor the iconic halftime show. DPS is producing the halftime show with Roc Nation,

Rihanna Shows Off Super Bowl Halftime Show Merch As Her Return To The Stage Nears

The Super Bowl itself is an undeniably big deal every year. However, it’s often the Halftime show that really captivates audiences. In 2022, an impressive roster of artists took to the stage. Among them were 50 Cent, Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and Mary J. Blige.

For some time, it was said that following such a lineup wouldn’t be easy for 2023’s headliner. However, it seems that the perfect artist was found in the form of Rihanna. She previously took a years-long hiatus from the music industry in favour of her other creative pursuits.

As the annual game nears, the new mother has been using social media to tease her fans about what they can expect. Most recently, she showed off her accompanying Savage X Fenty merch – namely a hoodie printed with the initial announcement image of her tattooed hand holding up a football that arrived last year.

“5 weeks from today,” the caption on Sunday’s (January 8) Instagram upload reads. Prior to that, Rih posted the same video on her Story, gearing her 139M followers up for her highly anticipated comeback.

Deadline reports that the “Breakin’ Dishes” hitmaker will be the first to perform in the rebranded Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show. The big event will take place on Sunday, February 12, in Glendale, Arizona. In charge of production is DPS with Roc Nation and Jesse Collins. Additionally, Hamish Hamilton will act as the director.

Once the exciting announcement came out in 2022, Jay-Z took a moment to praise Rihanna. “[She] is a generational talent, a woman of humble beginnings who has surpassed expectations at every turn,” he said at the time. “A person born on the small island of Barbados who became one of the most prominent artists ever. Self-made in business and entertainment.”

It’s been noted that over 120 million viewers tuned in to the Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show. Later, it went on to receive a total of three Creative Emmy awards for all the performers involved.

Others who have graced the stage at the year’s biggest football game in the past include Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Prince, Jennifer Lopez, and The Weeknd.

Rihanna Drops A Limited Edition ‘Game Day’ Savage X Fenty Collection Ahead Of Her Superbowl Performance

Super Bowl LVII will be held on February 12 in Glendale, Arizona, and for this year’s halftime show, billionaire and pop icon Rihanna is scheduled to perform. Ahead of her performance, the singer decided to tease her forthcoming halftime performance with a “Super Bowl-inspired” Savage x Fenty collection, according to Vogue.

On Sunday (January 8), Rihanna’s lingerie line Savage x Fenty released a limited-edition collection of football-inspired styles. Titled “Game Day,” the sports-themed line features an assortment of 17 sporty styles, including varsity jerseys, hoodies, sweatpants, boxers, and more. The special issue Super Bowl-inspired fashions will be available in various sizes, ranging from XXS to 4X, and are priced between $25 and $90, Vogue reports.

One of the most notable (and probably the most highly coveted) pieces is the brown LVII cropped jersey, which is presumably inspired by the color of a football. Additionally, the “Lift Me Up” singer will launch a special three-day “Game Day” pop-up shop, where customers can participate in Super Bowl-style photo ops and giveaways in Los Angeles from January 27 to January 29.

The singer reportedly has a documentary about her comeback performance with Apple TV+ in the works.

“There is a massive appetite for everything to do with Rihanna, especially as this will be her major return to the stage for the first time in years. She will be recorded during rehearsals and meetings in the lead-up to the big night and give an insight into what her life is really like now she is returning to pop as a mum,” a music insider told The Sun.
