Drake Unveils Massive Renovation Plans For Private Jet “Air Drake”

Drake is making big moves. The rapper dropped “100 gigs” of unreleased material, and frankly, we’re still sifting through it all. One of the most unexpected pieces of material in the drop, though, pertained to the rapper’s private jet. Drake is planning to give a massive facelift to the aircraft he’s been riding around in for the last decade. A facelift that will include changing the reference to his iconic 2015 mixtape If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late on the bottom of the plan. Instead of reading: “If you’re reading this we left,” it will read: “Chances are she’s onboard.” Heartbreak Drake in full effect.

This is not the first time the rapper has made changes to “Air Drake.” In 2013, the late Virgil Abloh added a cloud pattern on the exterior. Another reference to an album: Nothing Was the Same. The new version of the PJ is going to feature a darker shade of blue, however. In keeping with the sky analogy, it will look less like a cloudy day and more like an overcast evening. Oddly enough, “Air Drake” has been a subject that generates controversy in the past. The rapper was criticized by the public when he was took a few short flights on his jet in 2022. The shortest of these flights was 7 minutes.

Drake Has Been Criticized For Taking Short Flights

Drake responded to the criticism by noting that he’s not organizing these flights. There are meant to be for maintenance and convenience with regards to upkeep of the jet. “This is just them moving planes to whatever airport they are being stored at for anyone who was interested in the logistics,” he explained on Instagram. “Nobody takes that flight.” This was around the same time that Taylor Swift was catching heat for her perceived overuse use of private jets as well. The rapper’s explanation was deemed unsatisfying by many, but it eventually blew over.

The most recent controversy surrounding “Air Drake” stemmed from the rapper’s beef with Rick Ross. The two men traded bars and social media insults, and Rozay decided to provide some background on Drake’s jet. He told Instagram followers that the jet was made in 1996, and warned Drake to be careful when he flies since the aircraft is so old. The weirdest part of the back and forth is that Ross eventually had a flight malfunction of his own. He was forced to crash land his own private jet on May 3. The MMG boss took the situation in stride, though. “My jet just crashed,” he jokingly tweeted. “Drake OvO F16 fighter jet just shot us down.”

However, while trying to board a private jet at an airport in Miami, Tjay was arrested by authorities. He was taken into custody, and there were very few details surrounding why he was arrested. Diddy Seen Pacing Around Miami Airport As Rumors About His Private Jet Run Rampant

Diddy was the topic of the day on Monday thanks to the raids that took place at his L.A. and Miami homes. Overall, these raids came as a big shock to fans. However, considering the allegations that have been made against him, they make a whole lot of sense. His sons were detained during the raids, and all sorts of rumors began to surface on social media. For instance, some people got a hold of alleged flight logs for his private jet. These logs said that the music mogul was on his way to Cape Verde in order to escape extradition.

However, these rumors got more interesting as TMZ reported that Diddy’s private jet was on the ground in Antigua. This was subsequently followed up by a report that there was no evidence he was even on the plane. Just a couple of hours later, TMZ released footage from the Miami-Opa Locka executive airport. In this footage, you can see Diddy pacing around outside. As the story goes, the artist was in a private jet waiting for his entourage to show up. However, Homeland Security arrived, and he had to get off of the plane.

As TMZ reported, Diddy was not arrested and he was not detained either. Now, it is unknown as to where the artist is. One data set even reveals that 30 trips on a private jet could power 55 households for an entire year. These are pretty absurd numbers, and it has led to accusations that Kardashian is some sort of “eco-terrorist.” It is an extremely strong accusation to levy against the star, however, that is where we are at right now.

Drake Shares Scary Cockpit Video Of Low Visibility Private Jet Landing

In the past few months celebrity private jet usage has come under a bit of scrutiny. That’s primarily because of the massive amounts of pollution caused by consistently taking private jet flights. Much of that scrutiny has been focused on by far the biggest polluter among celebs, Taylor Swift. But this time it was Drake volunteering himself to join the private jet discussion, though he’s probably hoping to avoid comments about pollution.

Drizzy took to Instagram earlier today to share a pretty scary video. He was allowed into the cockpit of his private jet where he filmed the pilot and co-pilot making a pretty impressive landing despite no visibility whatsoever. The video gives fans the rare view of what it looks like landing a plane and in this particular instance, the windows are completely blocked out by fog. “There’s a couple landings I love on Air Drake but tbh the low visibility is the most exciting it makes your heart drop a bit…lucky I got the best putting this sh*t wheels down” he captioned the video. In the comments some fellow celebs pull up with jokes. “They using ils you got nothing to worry about” a comment from 21 Savage reads. “Let me fly the plane” NLE Choppa hilariously remarks. Even Popcaan showed up commenting on Drake’s private jet “Lifestyle.”

Last month, Drake dropped the music video for his song “Rich Baby Daddy.” The track originally dropped on his album For All The Dogs last year and features both SZA and Sexyy Red. It’s still lingering on the Hot 100 months later and the video was framed around Red recently giving birth to her second child. The Air Drake is a massive Boeing 767-200 jet with more than enough space to lounge comfortably while flying. With its sleek design and luxurious amenities, it is more than just a mode of transportation. It is a statement of Drake’s unparalleled success and influence in the music industry. However, contrary to what you might think, and Drake’s riches, the rapper did not buy the jet.

It is estimated to cost a whopping $185 million. While Drake’s estimated net worth is higher, that’s probably not a figure he would have willingly spent at a go. He could afford it, but he thankfully did not have to. Instead, Air Drake was offered as a very expensive gift to the rapper. This happened back in 2019 when the Canadian airline Cargojet made the move to give Drake the B767. 

According to Cargojet, this was a publicity move. They believed in Drake’s star power and sought to have him serve as a promotional ambassador. Moreover, they also believed that the jet would eventually pay for itself off the publicity that Drake would bring in. Speaking with Air Cargo News in 2019, Ajay Virmani, the CEO of Cargojet, said, “We are very excited to partner with Drake as our ambassador and assisting him with his logistical needs and requirements.” Also speaking to Air Cargo News, Drake stated, “Supporting homegrown businesses has always been a top priority of mine, so when an opportunity came up to get involved in a great Canadian company, I was honored to do so.”

Renovation Costs

Before becoming Air Drake, this B727 used to be a cargo jet. It was reportedly built in September 1996 and was operated for 22 years before being acquired by Cargojet in April 2019. Following its acquisition, some renovations needed to be made before it was gifted to Drake. According to E! News, renovation alone is estimated to have cost up to $100 million. As such, it reportedly costs $3 million to fly on Air Drake, as the rapper recently revealed to Adin Ross.

The Interior Features Of Air Drake

As aforementioned, Air Drake is a large business jet. It is 180 feet long (54 meters), with a 156-foot long wingspan (47 meters), and stands 52 feet high (15 meters). Following the renovations done by Cargojet, it fits the preferences and specifications of Drake.

The interior of Air Drake is a marvel of design, featuring lavish amenities that rival those of five-star hotels. With a seating capacity of up to 30 passengers, the jet is equipped to accommodate Drake and his entourage in comfort and style. Plush leather seats, sumptuous carpeting, and mood lighting set the stage for a truly luxurious traveling experience. In addition, Air Drake features three private suites and two living rooms. There is also a theater room, a business lounge, and an entertainment room. Furthermore, the inside of the cabin features a mix of golden and wooden surfaces, with the furniture colored either beige or brown.

Custom Exterior Design

In addition to its onboard amenities, Air Drake is also a sight to behold from the outside. The exterior was custom-designed by the late, great visionary designer, Virgil Abloh. The exterior of the jet is painted a beautiful baby blue, with white cloud-like designs. Additionally, it features Drake’s iconic owl logo prominently displayed on the tail, making it instantly recognizable on airport tarmacs. Also, the “AIR DRAKE” logo is boldly written on the side of the jet near the wings. Finally, under the belly of Air Drake, the words “IF YOU’RE READING THIS WE LEFT” are written in a large font. It is a clever reference to the rapper’s 2015 mixtape, If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late.

Drake Tells Adin Ross The Price Of Flying On His Private Jet

Drake has revealed to Adin Ross that he needs $3M to fly on the rapper’s private jet, Air Drake. The revelation came as Drake dialed into Ross’ latest stream. However, Ross, who is either a multi-millionaire or broke depending on the day, appeared confident that he could put the money together to cop a ride on the luxury airliner. Despite this, Drake held firm and let Ross know that there were no “friends and family discount” on an Air Drake trip. It was $3M or nothing.

Air Drake is a customized Boeing 767-200 that Drizzy acquired through a commercial partnership with Cargojet. It features a sky blue and white livery designed by Drake’s late friend, Virgil Abloh. The fully customized interior has been likened to a five-star hotel and features at least three private suites and two living rooms.

21 Savage Promises To Pay $400K Gambling Debt To Adin Ross

Ross is going to go a long way towards that $3M benchmark thanks to a recent confrontation with 21 Savage. The UK-born Atlanta rapper has promised to pay Adin Ross $400K after the streamer discovered that the rapper’s crew had brought marked cards for their gambling stream. 21 denied any knowledge of the cards but said he would honor his debt and pay Ross the full amount he owed. The rapper had been down $400K at one point in the stream before making a miraculous comeback, eventually cashing out with Ross owing him $120K.

Despite 21’s pledge, commenters online still came after the rapper for the seemingly shady behavior. “21 a bum for this,” one person noted. “This is why his last album flopped,” added another. However, not everyone was convinced by the situation. “In todays episode of “totally not made up by Adin Ross for the internet clicks”, argued another streamer. Beyonce’s childhood home in Texas has burned down. Per TMZ, firefighters were called to the house in Houston’s Third Ward around 2am on December 25. However, they were able to control the fire after around 10 minutes of work. Additionally, the current residents, a family of four, were able to safely evacuate the house before the fire got out of control.

Meanwhile, Beyonce was seen posting up from her private jet above Brazil. Rocking long blonde hair and a bikini top and jeans combo, Beyonce posed all over the swanky interior of the jet. Furthermore, the singer also took photos with the Brazilian flag and the flag of the state of Bahia. The singer is yet to release a statement about the Houston fire.

Beyonce & JAY-Z Boo’d Up In Pre-Christmas Outing

Aside from their recent trip to Brazil, Beyonce and Jay-Z have been out and about a whole bunch lately.
