Tory Lanez Reportedly Wants To Serve Sentence In State Prison

While he awaits sentencing, which is set for August 6, new reports indicate that Tory Lanez is having a pretty miserable time in jail. Moreover, these new claims come from attorney Ronda Renee Dixon, who motioned to take over as his legal counsel on Wednesday (July 12). However, the court denied her motion, although her statement still made its way to the news cycle and raised concerns over the artist’s state of mind and body while behind bars. Apparently, Lanez feels “despondent” in jail, exacerbated by the fact that authorities hold him in isolation. Dixon believes that he faced harsh and rare conditions during his time so far, and that it will continue if the court ignores his requests for a state prison transfer.

“His eyes were black,” Dixon told Legal Affairs and Trials with Meghann Cuniff of Tory Lanez’s mentality and physique. “He was totally despondent. He told me he wanted to go to state prison. I said, ‘You want to go to state prison? Why?’ He said, ‘At least I’ll be able to go out in the yard and talk to people.’ That upset me. I don’t think he’s guilty.

“Merely because he is well known, the Sheriff has decided that Mr. Peterson is of such great threat that he must be confined in the same manner as those convicted of serial rape charges and murder,” her motion read. For those unaware, the court found Tory Lanez guilty for charges related to shooting Megan Thee Stallion in July of 2020. These are one count of felony assault with a semiautomatic firearm, carrying an unregistered and loaded firearm in a vehicle, and firing said gun with gross negligence. Despite his team’s efforts, authorities denied his motion for a new trial and other attempts to reverse the ruling.

Meanwhile, the Canadian rapper and singer faces a maximum of 22 years behind bars according to reports and a minimum of nine years. Still, the prosecution aimed for about 13 years when making their case to the judge. With new details emerging and public knowledge increasing, this will be a very interesting verdict to witness. With that in mind, stay posted on HNHH for the latest news and updates on Tory Lanez.

Tory Lanez Is Reportedly “Totally Despondent” In Prison

Tory Lanez is currently being held in jail as he awaits sentencing in the Megan Thee Stallion Case. Overall, Tory is looking at a maximum sentence of 19 years in prison. However, it would appear as though the prosecution is trying to fight for 11 to 13 years. At this point, it remains to be seen how all of this will go. Tory and his legal team have put in multiple appeals. Although, the judge continues to uphold the guilty convictions. Now, Tory wants to add another judge to his legal team. Once again, the judge shot that down, according to legal reporter Meghann Cuniff.

As the story goes, Tory Lanez wants Ronda Renee Dixon to be on his team. In this role, she would work under Jose Baez, who is one of the most high-profile defense attorneys around. Unfortunately for Dixon, Baez is paying her no mind right now. This subsequently led to her telling Cuniff that she things Tory is being taken advantage of. Additionally, she says Tory looks “totally despondent” behind bars and that his eyes are completely black. She even went through the trouble of writing a motion to get Tory bail.

Tory Lanez Is Having A Bad Time

“Because Mr. Peterson has viable, meritorious post-conviction litigation, this court should award bail,” she wrote. “The unconstitutional nature of his confinement provides ample justification. Peterson’s conviction is not punishable by death. Because he will apply for probation, file an appeal, and pursue additional post-conviction remedies, this court should admit him bail within the court’s discretion.”

For now, this remains one of the biggest ongoing stories in hip-hop. Along with the YNW Melly trial, there are lots of legal proceedings taking place right now. They include first-degree assault with a firearm, discharge of a firearm with gross negligence, and having a concealed firearm in a vehicle – unregistered. He faces a maximum of 22 years and eight months in prison. A Los Angeles County Superior Court judge pushed Lanez’s sentencing date to Monday, August 7, 2023, last month. Be on the lookout for more information regarding his case at that time.

Larry Nassar Allegedly Stabbed Multiple Times In Prison: Report

Larry Nassar, the disgraced and convicted child molester and former sports medicine physician, has reportedly been stabbed multiple times in prison. This was during an alleged altercation with another prison inmate. The stabbing happened on Sunday afternoon at United States Penitentiary Coleman in Florida. According to the Associated Press, Nassar received wounds to his chest and back, but the most recent report had him in stable condition.

A spokesperson for the penitentiary confirmed the assault, though he did not mention Larry Nassar’s direct involvement. (They did not mention who was involved due to privacy and security purposes.) However, they did say that the assault resulted in “life-saving measures,” with the alleged stab victim being transported to the local hospital. The U.S. Penitentiary Coleman said no other staff members or prisoners were injured. Plus, the FBI was notified, and an internal investigation is ongoing. As of now, there are no updates on whether it truly is Nassar and if he’s been released from the hospital.

What Is Larry Nassar’s Current Condition?

larry nassar stabbed in prison
CHARLOTTE, MI – FEBRUARY 05: Larry Nassar sits with his attorney Matt Newburg as he is sentenced by Judge Janice Cunningham for three counts of criminal sexual assault in Eaton County Circuit Court on February 5, 2018, in Charlotte, Michigan. Nassar has been accused of sexually assaulting more than 150 girls and young women while he was a physician for USA Gymnastics and Michigan State University. Cunningham sentenced Nassar to 40 to 125 years in prison. He is currently serving a 60-year sentence in federal prison for possession of child pornography. Last month, a judge in Ingham County, Michigan, sentenced Nassar to 40 to 175 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting seven girls. (Photo by Scott Olson/Getty Images)

This isn’t the first time reports have surfaced around Nassar and getting assaulted in prison. Back in 2018, almost five years to the day, he was involved in an attack mere hours after joining the general prison population. That was back in Tucson, AZ. The original attack led to Nassar moving to the Florida penitentiary. Since then, it’s been all quiet on the Nassar news front until this last weekend. The identity of the attacker is unknown at this point.

Larry Nassar is serving multiple decades for sexually abusing hundreds of young girls via U.S. Gymnastics and MSU. Many female gymnasts, including Aly Raisman and Jordyn Wieber, testified back in 2018 against the sports trainer. It’s unclear yet whether Nassar will transfer again. Due to the repeated incidents, the U.S. penitentiary system might consider stronger protections for Nassar. This is a developing story, so keep it dialed into HotNewHipHop for any developments surrounding Nassar’s condition.

Kay Flock Bumps Lil Durk In New Instagram Picture From Prison

Back in February of this year, authorities hit Kay Flock and seven other individuals on RICO charges amid a murder case. Since then, the rapper’s provided a few updates here and there on his well-being, including statements, pictures from behind bars, and more. In his most recent Instagram post, though, the New York drill rapper actually prompted a crossover with one of the biggest drill-adjacent artists in the world right now. Moreover, Flock posted a picture of himself on a call from his cell, and his background music was Lil Durk and Only The Family’s “One Mo Chance.”

Furthermore, as fans anxiously await what will become of Kay Flock, he and his legal team continue giving signs of life. For example, his attorney Jeffrey Lichtman, who previously represented El Chapo, called him a “good kid” and expressed confidence in him winning his murder case. “I’m looking forward to winning his trial. When the facts come out I think people will be shocked he was even charged,” Lichtman expressed. With these new RICO charges, though, it seems like an even more difficult case to overcome.

Meanwhile, the 20-year-old recently issued a message urging people to stop the violence. “First off I want to say sorry to all my fans, my mother, my family, my team. Last but not least, my brothers that’s home and the ones I lost in the streets,” Kay Flock wrote. “They say the streets has three outcomes but I say it’s two, dead or in jail. If you know me you know that I have a good heart. But you also know I’m damaged inside and hurt from my past. While being in here I lost two of my brothers to gun violence. [I] wasn’t even able to see them for the last time.”

Meanwhile, he went on to mention how people focus on negativity and stood by his denial of gang accusations. He also championed rap as his way out of his lifestyle. Furthermore, he wants to set an example for the youth by starting a #StopTheViolence campaign. To close things off, he mentioned many other rappers who currently face similar situations like Casanova and Young Thug. For more news and the latest updates on Kay Flock, check back in with HNHH.

Ice Cube Claims The Music And Prison Industries Work Together

During a recent appearance on Bill Maher’s “Club Random” podcast, Ice Cube discussed ties he sees between the prison industrial complex and the entertainment industry. He claims that the prison system benefits from the rap industry, using it to put more people behind bars. “The narrative is really kind of structured and really made into what the record company wants the record to be,” he says.

“Like follow the money,” he begins, “I don’t know their names, but if you go high enough you begin to see this is an industry.” “Let’s take rap music,” he continues, “[The] same people who own the labels own the prisons. It seems really kind of suspicious—if you want to say that word—that the records that come out are really geared to push people toward their prison industry.” Ice Cube later went on to call it “social engineering,” to ensure that “prisons stay full.”

Ice Cube Claims The “Same People Who Own The Labels Own The Prisons”

When Maher claims that nobody is forcing artists to write the lyrics of their songs, Ice Cube argues. “It’s not about making somebody write the lyrics,” he says. “It’s about being near as guardrails to make sure certain songs make it through and certain songs don’t.” He then claims, “Certain flavors are exposed on the record. Some records are made by committee. Meaning record company guys sit around and tell the artists ‘This is hot, say that. Do this, we gonna have this guy write lyrics.’”

This isn’t the first time Ice Cube has been vocal about his controversial opinions. Earlier this year, he called AI music “bullsh*t,” claiming that it forces artists to be associated with things they never agreed to. “Samples are approved or denied by the song owners,” he wrote on Twitter. “Totally different than taking a dead artist and making a new song they never approved,” Ice Cube explained. He then went on to say, “That’s evil and demonic to me.

O-Block’s Boss Top Sentenced To 5 Years

Boss Top, born Tyree Davis, has reportedly been sentenced for gun charges. According to legal documents posted by No Jumper, the Chicago-born artist has been sentenced to serve five years in prison. He’s reportedly charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm. The circumstances surrounding his arrest are currently unclear. The legal documents suggest that he was admitted on Tuesday (June 27), of this week.

The rapper is known to have come from O-Block. O-Block is a block in Chicago widely accepted as the place drill rap originated. Others notable artists who come from O-Block include Lil Durk, Chief Keef, Fredo Santana, and more. King Von was also famously from O-Block. Boss Top is also known to have been affiliated with the late King Von, who died in 2020 following a shooting in Atlanta.

Boss Top’s Gun Charges

This is far from Boss Top’s first run-in with the law. Back in 2016, the rapper was accused of being involved in a home robbery. At the time, he was looking at home invasion and gun charges. He was also reportedly facing up to 45 years behind bars. In May of 2018, he was sentenced to six years in prison. In a 2021 interview with VladTV, the artist shared that he was held on a $1.5 million bond at the time. He also revealed that he had refused to cooperate with law enforcement throughout the case, explaining the hefty sentence he was facing.

Boss Top has also famously had beef with Chief Keef. Last year, he sent a message to NBA YoungBoy and DaBaby on social media for dropping music on the same day of King Von’s first posthumous release, What It Means To Be King. What It Means To Be King, along with Better Than You, were both set to drop on March 4, 2022. “King Von Better Than Both Of You Friday,” he wrote on Instagram, hinting at the title of NBA YoungBoy and DaBaby’s project. Later in 2022, Boss Top released At Yo Neck II, a 14-song mixtape featuring King Von, Lil Gotit, Doodie Lo, Fredo Bang, and more.

Troy Ave Mocks Casanova’s 15-Year Prison Sentence

In a new Instagram post, Troy Ave makes light of Casanova’s recent 15-year prison sentence. The rapper will serve time for drug and gang-related charges. “I can’t wipe the motherf***ing smile off my face if I tried,” he says in the clip. He continues, also claiming “It’s Christmas in June!”

In the caption of the clip, the rapper also announced a giveaway of $188, the same number of months Casanova is to serve. “We giving a 188 dollar cash app for whoever can guess why AVE is in such a great mood,” he writes, “Best answer wins.” This wasn’t the first time Troy Ave celebrated someone’s prison sentence. Earlier this month, he also mocked Taxstone on Instagram with a similar giveaway. Taxstone was sentenced to 35 years for killing Troy Ave’s bodyguard, Ronald “Banga” McPhatter. McPhatter was shot, along with several others, at a T.I. concert back in 2016.

Troy Ave Says “It’s Christmas In June”

Troy Ave also previously accused Casanova of being a “snitch” in a lengthy Instagram post in 2021. “Caswell #Casanova Senior cooperated with the police and snitched on his ‘friend’ Classik about a murder investigation,” he alleged. He went on to say, “We outnumbered by these frauds. They talk tough but join gangs for protection, they Dick ride instead of standing on they own two.” He added, “They the users not the dealers! They talk about being rich off trappin but u can see they broke or have rented apartments & cars!”

Casanova’s 188-month sentence was reported yesterday. U.S. Attorney Damian Williams called him a “high-profile leader of a vicious street gang and a magnet for gang violence,” in a recent press release. The rapper’s lawyers also claim that his life is in danger in prison. He previously renounced his ties to the Untouchable Gorilla Stone Nation gang in a letter to a judge. Earlier this month, he was involved in a serious altercation with another inmate, reportedly linked him renouncing his affiliation.

Kodak Black Seemingly Gets Emotional After Fan Says He Needs To Go To Jail To Sober Up

Kodak Black’s faced his fair share of legal troubles in his career and unfortunately, they continue to persist. The rapper surrendered to authorities earlier this week a warrant was issued for his arrest in his prescription drug case. Yak reportedly failed to show up for a mandatory urine test. However, he posted bond shortly after with his lawyer asking the judge to remove the tight pretrial conditions. The judge obliged under the condition that his bond increases to $250K.

Still, Yak’s recent behavior created concern among his fans. Over the weekend, he appeared troubled on Instagram Live when addressing his recent legal matters. Fans reacted immediately, believing that he might be under the influence and expressing their concern. However, one fan even went as far as telling Kodak Black that needed to go back to jail in order to sober up. “Damn, what kind of person are you? This motherf*cka say, ‘You need to go back to jail and sober up, Yak. For real, for real, man.’” Kodak said on Instagram Live.

Kodak Black’s Emotional Response

After reading the comment out loud, Yak appeared to be emotional in his response, although trying to maintain a leveled approach. “How and why do you feel like that’s the answer to my… whatever you feel like?” he said. Kodak began to explain to recount a conversation he had with an officer who asked him why he was constantly getting into trouble. “I was like ‘shit… when mothaf*ckas know you chosen and sh*t, that’s when they torment you,” he said.

Clearly, the individual suggesting that jail would help him hit a sore spot, and understandably so. There hasn’t really been a time in the last five years that Kodak Black hasn’t been restricted by legal issues. However, in Kodak’s latest courtroom win, his attorney, Brad Cohen, successfully had the judge remove certain restrictions that would allow Kodak to travel without having to check in with pre-trial. We’ll keep you posted on any more updates surrounding Kodak’s case. Check out the video above and let us know your thoughts in the comments.

Casanova’s Wife Shares A Message Following His 15 Year Sentence

Casanova’s wife, Jasmere “Swaggy Jazzy” Corbett, has shared a new message on social media following his sentencing. Earlier today, it was reported that he has received a 15-year-sentence by U.S. District Judge Philip M. Halpern for charges related to racketeering, narcotics, violence, and more. He pleaded guilty to some charges last year, asking a judge for leniency in a letter. Amid the news, Corbett has showcased her undying loyalty to the rapper.

Corbett shared a photo of herself alongside her husband, writing, “I love you baby [heart emoji] We gon walk that sh*t down!” She continued, “Now that he’s sentenced let me address this. I said they saying you got a buck 50 baby. He video called me and said they must be talking bout that buck 50 you put on my commissary.” Corbett added, “That boy look good [heart-eyed emoji] Y’all tried it with the buck/ 50 He got a lil 2 dollars.”

U.S. Attorney Damian Williams stated in a press release that “Caswell Senior is not just a notorious recording artist, but he is also a high-profile leader of a vicious street gang and a magnet for gang violence.” He continued, “At a crowded Miami house party, Senior personally fired a gun that seriously injured and could have killed a victim, inciting a shootout.” “Senior’s stature in the community was central to Gorilla Stone’s successful recruitment and nationwide expansion,” Williams explained, “Today’s sentencing — along with the other significant sentences that have been imposed in this case — shows once again that gang life is not worth it and will lead to many years in prison.”

In his letter to the judge, Casanova renounced his ties to the Untouchable Gorilla Stone Nation gang. This reportedly led to a bloody prison altercation between him and another inmate at Essex County Correction Facility in Newark earlier this month. His lawyer has previously stated that him cutting ties with the gang, “has and will continue to pose a threat to his life which will make his future incarceration far more onerous than contemplated by our judicial system.”
