Rolling Stone even crowned “SkeeYee” the best rap song of 2023 in their year-end list, a major feat for the breakout star. While fans are proud that Sexyy Red hasn’t let pregnancy slow her down, some feel as though she might have taken this sentiment a bit too literally. Recently, she shared a clip on Instagram from behind the wheel of a Mercedes, hitting shocking speeds of up to 130 miles per hour.

This has earned the “Pound Town” performer a fair amount of backlash, as some social media users think it was a reckless move, particularly since she’s expecting. “Mother of the year,” one Twitter user quips. “Some women shouldn’t be allowed to carry a life in their body,” another writes.

Sexyy Red has yet to respond to the backlash, but she did provide fans with an update on her growing bump. In a new clip, she’s seen posing in a mirror from the safety of her home. The St. Louis native rocks a figure-hugging dress, her belly on full display. “I’m bout to pop yall,” she captioned the clip.

DJ Akademiks says his ex-girlfriend, who he previously accused of stealing $500,000 from him, is now pregnant. He made the revelation while speaking with Troy Ave over the phone for a new interview.

When NoJumper shared the clip on Instagram, plenty of fans had fun at his expense. “I love how karma hittin his ass from both sides maybe it will humble him,” one user commented. Another wrote: “She was just taking her child support money in advance.”

As for his original accusation, Akademiks made the claim on a podcast, last week. “This is where you all would call me a simp, and I am going to take it,” he began at the time. “There was a time… don’t anymore…but there was a time when I had a million dollars cash in my crib. Do you know this b-tch stole half a million dollars from me, cash? Bro, I had money in different safes just sitting there. I gamble, so when I gamble, I pick the money up in cash. I am not counting it every day. One day, I said, let me try out my new money counter. You know I like counting my money and wrapping the bands around them s**ts. If you do not like that, I am sorry. When I was counting, I thought I should have at least $950,000, $900,000, but I only had $400,000.”

The pregnancy and stolen $500,000 isn’t the only drama surrounding Akademiks and his relationships. He’s also facing a sexual assault allegation from one of his ex-girlfriends. The podcaster had described the woman having a threesome with his friends, but she clarified on Instagram Live afterward that the interaction wasn’t consensual. “You tried to save yourself after your friends assaulted me,” she alleged. “Whether you got drunk or not, I know that when I woke up, you were on top of me, too. Get money,” Red explained in a series of videos posted on Instagram. Red initially announced her pregnancy in October, but it’s unclear how far along she is in her pregnancy. As a result, it’s unknown when her due date is.

Of course, being pregnant has stopped Red going wild. Red was twerking like the best of them as she celebrated the release of the deluxe version of Hottest Hood Princess. The players on the team were caught getting hyped up to Sexyy Red‘s “SkeeYee” after their national championship semifinal win over Wisconsin. The locker room video showed the assembled women going absolutely wild while singing along to one of the year’s biggest tracks. Released in June, “SkeeYee” became a cultural phenomenon despite only peaking at No. 62 on the Billboard Hot 100. It was also referenced by the Troy Trojans football program after they scored a rivalry game win earlier this year.

A day later and Texas were once against NCAA champions. They swept title favorites Nebraska 2-0 in the national championship to defend their title from 2022. Furthermore, the title is the Longhorns’ fourth overall. They are the first team to win back to back titles since Stanford did so in 2018 and 2019. Additionally, the Longhorns overcame the odds to beat a one-loss Nebraska team seeking its first title since 2017. The Longhorns were a four-loss team but powered through their bracket, dropping just two sets on their way to the title.

“Here’s the thing – I did what I had to do, right?” she said. “My jumper couldn’t zip up. No one knew I was pregnant, I just told my stylist to make sure it’s stretchy. So the under arm was stretchy and this was baggy but you know, the zip. It just stopped right there, so it had to be what it had to be!”

The choreographer for the show, Parris Goebel, previously discussed how Rihanna’s pregnancy factored into the process during an interview with Good Morning America just days after the game. Goebel said that they originally planned to have her in something baggy to hide the baby bump, but when she showed up, she was much farther along in the pregnancy than anyone realized. “She was going to maybe wear something baggy that didn’t really show and then leading up to the show we were just like, ‘Oh, she’s really showing,’” Goebel recalled. Additionally, the sudden childbirth death of Olympian Tori Bowie sparked a lot of anxiety within Osaka. “I was kind of starting to freak out a little bit. A tweet from Osaka had fans speculating that she may have broken up with the rapper. “I just want someone that will watch the sunset with me,” Osaka wrote on social media while also removing any trace of her child’s father from her online presence. However, it wasn’t the first time that Osaka has hinted at a breakup. On September 27, she wrote “the art of loving yourself” while also liking a post about “walking away from those who don’t value you”. For Cordae’s part, he did not acknowledge Osaka’s birthday this week and appeared absent from her celebrations.

The couple has been together since July 2019, when Cordae officially confirmed rumors that had been circulating since April. The pair weathered Osaka’s decline from the highest echelon of pro tennis as she suffered injuries and chose to step back to focus on her mental health.
