One of the lanes that iann dior thrives in the most is the heartbreak/break up songs. Most of that comes from the expertise in genres such as pop punk and emo rap, that the youngster from Puerto Rico has. That may be a strong description, especially with the fact that he has not been around that long. But, he really has developed those skills nicely over time. It shows tenfold on iann dior’s new song “House On Fire.”
This track can be found on his new EP BLIND. He dropped it over this past weekend and it contains five other songs. You may have heard this cut already, as it has been out for a couple of weeks. However, we unfortunately missed it during its release. But, after hearing it for the first time, it is a shame we did not post about it back then.
We gushed about it in our BLIND write-up and we felt it was worth covering on its own. Iann pens a track about a love that is expiring by the second as he grows tired of the love interest’s child-like games. “Let all the flames get higher Take all your s*** and leave, I know you not missing me / So come set this house on fire,” iann sings with a catchy melody. You can check out the fiery record above to see why we are so in love with it.
What are your thoughts on this brand-new song, “House On Fire,” by iann dior? Is this the best track from BLIND, why or why not? What is your favorite element of the song and why? Is this iann’s best project to date, why or why not? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. On Thursday, he came through with a new track simply titled “Selfish.” The track also comes complete with a music video, which is exactly what you would expect from a star of JT’s magnitude. Either way, the song is buttery smooth, and contains a nice mix of pop and r&b stylings.
Throughout the track, Justin Timberlake seems about a woman who is head over heels for. He knows she looks good, and he wants her all to himself. This is where the whole selfish theme comes into play. Sure, it is not a new concept, but his voice still sounds good, and the production complements this all nicely.

Quotable Lyrics:
So if I get jealous, I can’t help it I want every bit of you, I guess I’m selfish It’s bad for my mental, but I can’t fight it, when You’re out lookin’ like you do, but you can’t hide it, no
Yasiin Bey is a legend within hip-hop, and his decades of experience, knowledge, activism, social consciousness, and skill elevates his standards quite a lot. Moreover, he recently sat down with The Cutting Room Floor and, at one point, was asked by the program’s host whether Drake is hip-hop. Well, you tell me: do you think that the man behind Black Star and Black on Both Sides is a massive fan of the 6ix God? While Bey, formerly and best known as Mos Def, didn’t really diss him here, he did point to the commercial, agreeable, and non-remarkable nature of the game that Drizzy represents, for better or worse.
“Like, is Drake hip-hop?” host Recho asked the MC formerly known as Mos Def. “Why are you doing this to me?” Yasiin Bey replied, and you can tell throughout the whole segment, with some laughs in between, that he’s trying not to go full scorched Earth and be as clear as possible. “Drake is pop to me. In the sense, like, if I was in Target in Houston, and I heard a Drake song. It feels like a lot of his music is compatible with… shopping. Or, as you know, shopping with an edge in certain instances.
“Of course, I get it,” Yasiin Bey continued about Drake. “It’s likable. It’s likable… ‘Wooooo! So many products! So many SKUs! Look at all these SKUs (stock-keeping units, more commonly known as bar codes)! Oh, so many products. I love this mall! Look at this place. I mean, look at this place! They have everything, everything’s here! They have everything here! Oh, this is great. This is the new Drake, do you hear it? It’s great…’
“Okay. What happens when this thing collapses?” he concluded. “What happens when the columns start buckling? Are we not in some early stage of that at this present hour? Are we seeing, like, the collapse of an empire? Buying and selling, where’s the message that I can use? You know, what’s in it for your audience apart from, like, banging the pom-poms?” For more news and the latest updates on Drake and Yasiin Bey, stay up to date on HNHH.
There are a lot of albums you can debate as the greatest of all time. However, to pick one is near impossible. Especially, with everyone having different tastes, there will never be a consensus best LP across the music landscape. However, many throughout the world have enjoyed this album for decades and decades. In fact, this project has been out since 1982 and it is still being listened to even now. We are referencing the King of Pop, Michael Jackson’s sixth album, Thriller. The tape will officially turn 40 years old on November 30. It is a timeless classic, one that we can truly say has stood the test of time.
According to AllHipHop, Thriller debuted at number one and astoundingly remained at the top for 37 weeks. The 1980’s classic is now the 10th project to accomplish this feat as well. Other artists who have done this include Pink Floyd, Bob Marley and the Wailers, Journey, Metallica, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Eminem, Bruno Mars, Guns N’ Roses and Nirvana. The crazy stats are not finished yet, though.
Michael’s magnum opus is in second place for weeks spent at the top of the throne. The only other LP to be there longer was West Side Story‘s soundtrack (1961). That was there for 54 weeks, but honestly, there is no shame in that. When you boast tracks such as “Thriller,” “Billie Jean,” “Beat It,” and “P.Y.T.,” it is hard to not be proud of your album.
What are your initial thoughts on Michael Jackson’s Thriller spending 600 weeks on the Billboard 200 chart? Does this solidify Michael as the greatest pop star of all time? Which song is your favorite on the record? Is “Thriller” the greatest pop song ever made? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your hottest takes in the comments section below. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest breaking news around Michael Jackson, as well as everything else going on around the music world.
