Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung released a statement today, per Washington Post, confirming that Harris and Trump spoke today and that she congratulated him on the win. “President Trump acknowledged Vice President Harris on her strength, professionalism, and tenacity throughout the campaign, and both leaders agreed on the importance of unifying the country,” Cheung said. Reportedly, they also “discussed the importance of a peaceful transfer of power and being a president for all Americans.”

Not everyone is disappointed by Harris’ loss, as several social media users and peers have also had positive reactions to the news. 50 Cent, for example, recently took to Instagram to congratulate Trump on his victory. “I don’t care how the fight goes, I’m leaving with the winner s***. As for Banks’ initial endorsement of Harris, she cited Trump’s allegiance with Elon Musk as a key contributing factor. “I really think keeping Elon Musk away from any type of political power in the USA is tantamount to any issue on the table here. You have to be a complete idiot to think that dirtbag cares about anyone or anything other than himself,” Banks wrote in the lengthy rant on X.

This was far from all Cardi had to say about the election results, however. In a now-deleted video, she also suggested that some states might experience hurricanes as a result of their Trump support. “This is why some of y’all states be getting hurricanes,” she said. It remains unclear exactly why Cardi decided to delete the video. It’s possible she was receiving backlash for it, or thought she had taken her shade a bit too far.

Her remark comes just days after she shut down a Tweet from Elon Musk, who called her a “puppet” for speaking at Harris’ rally. “I’m not a puppet Elon,” she wrote at the time, “I’m a daughter of two immigrant parents that had to work their a** off to provide for me! The victory came amid a night of disappointment for Democrats, as Donald Trump easily secured a Republican win for the presidency.

Lee previously discussed his decision to get into politics during an interview with BET. “It’s very different from being in the media and covering pop culture to being in politics. When I talk on Hollywood Unlocked, people are going to like my opinion or not,” Lee explained to the publication, last month. “But when you’re in the streets trying to tackle homelessness, trying to make the streets safer for kids, making sure people live in market-rate housing, and have a community that can thrive again, it’s a very different experience.”

“Biden is one of the problems here because he should’ve let everyone know he was just a transitional president,” Charlamagne began. “He should’ve let everybody know he was just going to do four years and get on about his business. Biden should’ve dropped out a year ago or two years ago. And they should’ve made him drop out a year or two years ago. Or not drop out, but say he was not going to run again. Whoever could’ve prepared. They could’ve done a proper primary, picked a candidate. I still think the V.P. probably would’ve been the best choice. I think Biden is one of the bigger issues here that people aren’t going to want to talk about but they should. At the end of the day, America spoke loud and clear. It was a free and fair election. People went out there and voted for the candidate that they wanted to vote for and now that candidate is our President.”
