Malia Obama Hangs Out With Biden’s Grandkids

Malia Obama was seen hanging out with President Joe Biden’s grandkids in New York. The 24-year-old daughter of former President Barack Obama looked happy as she strolled through the streets of the city. Malia and the Biden grandkids, Maisy, Finnegan, and Beau, all got lunch together at Charlie Bird in SoHo. They then hit the streets together for a walk in the beautiful spring weather. Malia and the group were also accompanied by what looks to be a potential new love interest for the former president’s daughter.

Malia Obama is the eldest daughter of former U.S. President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama. She was born in in Chicago. Malia spent much of her young life in the public eye and attended prestigious schools in Washington, D.C. She gained media attention for her fashion choices and was often seen accompanying her parents on official trips and events. In 2016, she took a gap year before attending Harvard University, where she studied sociology and graduated in 2021. Malia is also involved in social activism and often speaks out about issues such as climate change and women’s rights.

Malia Obama has maintained a relatively low profile since her father’s departure as president. In 2018, she started an internship with the Weinstein Company in New York City, but she soon departed because of Harvey Weinstein’s public history of sexual misconduct. As part of her social advocacy, Malia has participated in demonstrations against the Dakota Access Pipeline and the unrest in Charlottesville, Virginia. Additionally, she served as a production aide on the HBO series Euphoria in 2019. Malia graduated from Harvard University in 2021.

Now that she is finished with college, Malia wants to delve further into a career in the field of film and television. Not only did Malia work on Euphoria, she also helped pen the new series from Donald Glover, Swarm. Glover called her “an amazingly talented person.” He likes her work so much that he’s now brought her on to develop a short film for his production company. Whatever happens next for her, it seems Malia is keen to make a name for herself outside of her father’s tenure as president.

Chicago Elects New Mayor Brandon Johnson

Chicago Elects New Mayor Brandon Johnson | The Source

The city of Chicago has elected its new mayor, Brandon Johnson. When the race was called, Johnson had 51% of the votes cast, 286,647. His opponent, Paul Vallas, had 49% at 270,775.

Johnson, a 47-year-old Cook County commissioner and former public school teacher, orchestrated a comeback victory, an impressive feat for a candidate that was considered unknown in mid-2023. He now inherits a divided city from current mayor Lori Lightfoot who came in third place in the initial election but could not make the runoff.

“The truth is the people have always worked for Chicago,” Johnson said in his victory speech. “Whether you wake up early to open the doors of your businesses or wear a badge to protect our streets or nurse patients in need or provide childcare services, you have always worked for this city and now Chicago will begin to work for its people. All the people.”

Vallas called for the city to unite behind Johnson. “It’s time for all Chicagoans to put aside their differences and to walk and to work together supporting the daunting work ahead for our next mayor.”

Johnson was backed by the Chicago Teachers Union, opposed to Vallas, who had support from the Fraternal Order of Police. Vallas was criticized for his police-heavy platforms and often compared to being more of a Republican candidate opposed to the Democrat party he placed on the ballot.

With the runoff complete, Johnson, now mayor-elect, will prep for taking office. His swearing-in is scheduled for May 15.

Tupac’s Sister Calls The Donald Trump Comparison To Her Brother “Blasphemous”

Screen Shot 2023 04 04 at 8.59.04 PM

Earlier this week, Donald Trump’s attorney Alina Habba shockingly compared the Former President to late pop icon Tupac Shakur, but the “Thug Life” figure’s younger sister says that the comparison and absurd.

Set Shakur said in an interview with TMZ, “My brother was measured by his integrity, his principles and personal and collective responsibility,” while calling Habba’s comments “blasphemous”.

Set says that ‘Pac took responsibility during his 1994 rape trial, adding that Trump has shown no responsibility for what he’s being charged with.

Trump’s attorney asserts that Trump’s arrest would boost his numbers in the polls, similar to how ‘Pac’s record sales skyrocketed following his one year prison stint in an NYC prison. Habba made this comparison on the same day that Trump flew to NYC to be arrested and indicted on fraud charges. Set contends that Tupac’s popularity didn’t grow because of his incarceration, but instead because his fans “were able to measure him by his words and actions that aligned.”

Shakur says that Trump’s attorney maybe using his name to attract ‘Pac fans for support and she’s hopeful that their ploy has no impact.

Van Jones Feels Bad For “Granddad” Donald Trump

Donald Trump became the first president to ever get indicted by a grand jury. Though it’s not necessarily shocking, the former president’s alleged affair with adult film star Stormy Daniels came back to bite him in the ass. Trump faces accusations of paying Daniels hush money to keep their entanglement under wraps ahead of his presidential campaign. However, it feels like his supporters wouldn’t have necessarily held it against him if they were aware of the scandal.

Today, Trump turned himself in to authorities and appeared in front of a judge where he pleaded not guilty to all 34 counts. After his court appearance, the indictment was unsealed, revealing that he’s facing felony charges related to business fraud. Trump allegedly falsified cheque records and ledger entries in 2017 to make supposed payments to Daniels seem as though they were “legal fees.” This is because prosecutors believe Trump compensated his attorney, Michael Cohen, for the amount paid to Stormy Daniels.

Van Jones Feels Bad For Trump

Van Jones has faced backlash time and time again for his praise of Trump. At a time when the former president created even more divisiveness among Americans, Jones praised some of the work he did with Trump’s administration. As recently as last week, Van Jones described Trump as the “uniter-in-chief” due to his support for prison reform and the First Step Act. Even though many people dislike Trump, Van Jones clearly has a soft spot for the guy.

So, it should come as no surprise that the political commentator wasn’t necessarily happy about Trump’s indictment. During a recent interview with CNN, Jones said that he didn’t take joy in seeing Trump turning himself in. “He looks sad,” he explained. “I don’t like the prison system, so I don’t like this process … doesn’t mean that accountability is not owed. We don’t know what he’s going to be charged with but with that moment, that is not a conqueror. That is a granddad having a very bad day.” That’s certainly one way to put it. Check out Van Jones’ comments above and let us know your thoughts in the comments.

[WATCH] Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene Says Trump’s Arrest Places Him Alongside Mandela and Jesus as ‘Incredible People in History’

Marjorie Taylor Greene

Former President Donald Trump has been arrested, arraigned and is back on a plane to Mar-a-Lago. With that under his belt, opinions and fall out from the moment in American History will pour out. One of the early statements comes from Marjorie Taylor Greene.

Speaking with RSBN, Taylor Greene let off an eyebrow-raising set of comparisons for Trump:

“President Trump is joining some of the most incredible people in history being arrested today. Nelson Mandela was arrested, served time in prison. Jesus! Jesus was arrested and murdered by the Roman government. There have been many people throughout history that have been arrested and persecuted by radical corrupt governments, and it’s beginning today in New York City and I just can’t believe it’s happening, but I’ll always support him. He’s done nothing.”

Before his arraignment, Trump issued a statement on Truth Social, the Twitter alternative social platform that he leads.

“Headed to Lower Manhattan, the Courthouse. Seems so SURREAL – WOW, they are going to ARREST ME. Can’t believe this is happening in America. MAGA!”

Donald Trump Turns Himself Into Authorities In NYC

Donald Trump has turned himself in to authorities in the Manhattan district attorney’s office for his alleged role in a hush money payment to adult film actress Stormy Daniels. The former president of the United States arrived at the district attorney’s office around 1:30 PM, ET, where he was met by both supporters and protesters. Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene and George Santos were both in attendance.

“Heading to Lower Manhattan, the Courthouse. Seems so SURREAL,” he posted on Truth social minutes before his arrival. “WOW, they are going to ARREST ME. Trump announced on Truth Social that he expected to be arrested in the near future, last month. He’s since slammed the merits of the case against him many times. “The Corrupt D.A. has no case. What he does have is a venue where it is IMPOSSIBLE for me to get a Fair Trial (it must be changed!), and a Trump Hating Judge, hand selected by the Soros backed D.A. (he must be changed!). Also has the DOJ working in the D.A.’s Office – Unprecedented!” he wrote in one post.

The indictment against him is still under seal so the exact charges are unknown to the public. However, NBC reports that there are about 30 counts related to document fraud. For Tuesday’s arraignment, cameras will not be allowed in the courtroom, although a number of photographers have been given permission to take pictures for a brief period.

The former president reportedly plans to give a speech tonight from Mar-a-Lago after he returns home. The speech is scheduled for 8:15 PM, ET. With the arrest, Trump has become the first former president in U.S. history to be charged with a crime.

Tupac’s Sister Blasts Donald Trump’s Comparisons as ‘Blasphemous’

force trump cooperate ny ag leticia james

Tupac’s sister, Set Shakur, is not having any comparisons between her late brother and former president Donald Trump. As Trump is set to be arraigned, he has often been compared to Tupac, the most recent being by Trump’s attorney Alina Habba, who also threw Biggie’s name in the mix as well.

Appearing on TMZ, Shakur stated the comparison was “blasphemous.”

“My brother was measured by his integrity, his principles and personal and collective responsibility,” Shakur said.

Speaking with Benny Johnson on The Benny Show, Trump’s attorney Alina Habba agreed with the show’s host that the forthcoming charges would raise the notoriety of the former President.

Habba would respond to Johnson stating, “Donald Trump is Tupac. Donald Trump is Biggie Smalls.” Habba would state she’s from the east coast, showing Biggie bias and stating Trump would be bigger than Tupac.

“Donald Trump is his own brand, he is everything,” Habba said. “This is just going to boost him we have seen it in the polls. This is not a question, this is a fact.”

Habba isn’t the first person to make the comparison. Chris Rock was on hand as Adam Sandler received the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor in D.C. Never one to miss a moment for political discourse, Rock threw a Trump joke while honoring his friend Sandler.

“Are you guys really gonna arrest Trump?” Rock stated. “Do you know this is only going to make him more popular? It’s like arresting Tupac. He’s just gonna sell more records. Are you stupid?”

You can hear Habba’s statements here.
