Joe Budden Calls Logic “Weird” For Exposing His Mom For Using The N-Word

Joe Budden says that Logic is “weird” for recently “snitching” on his mom for having used the n-word. While appearing on Andrew Santino’s Whiskey Ginger podcast in May, Logic recalled a time his mother was stabbed for using the word. Flash forward a few months, and Joe Budden discussed the incident on a recent episode of his podcast.

“My mom got stabbed,” Logic recalled on Santino’s podcast. “Yeah, she was in the park, hit the hard ‘r’ on somebody, which she also did to me and my siblings all the time. She stepped out and thought it was all good and some bitch just yanked her up. They stabbed this bitch up. In her side and in her back. A couple times.”

On Saturday, Budden played the clip on The Joe Budden Podcast and the co-hosts quickly started clowning Logic. “And you want me to think that this guy is okay with who he is and just his own skin and being himself?” Budden questioned. “What’s that about? That’s weird. Why you snitching on moms?”

From there, he brought up Logic signing his father to Bobby Boy Records in June. He added: “When he paraded his dad everywhere on a leash, I didn’t say nothing, but I did think it was odd. Then he signed his dad… seems familiar. That was the trend, like, 600 years ago. Getting paperwork on these n****s [laughs].” Check out the full clip below.

Joe Budden Calls Out Logic

It’s far from the first time Budden has come at Logic on his podcast. Earlier this year, he pleaded with the 33-year-old to retire from music. “Logic, I beg of you, I’m pleading with you: please join me in retirement,” he said. “Never step near a recording device again! Throw your phone in the ocean! Be allergic to microphones! Promise your fans nothing! Don’t go to the studio ever again!” Logic eventually responded to the hate while speaking with MSNBC‘s Ari Melber, labeling Budden a “hater.”

Large Professor Discusses Russell Simmons’ Decision Not To Sign Nas

During a recent appearance on the Drink Champs podcast, Large Professor discussed Nas. He reflected on people in the industry passing up opportunities with Nas in the early days of the rapper’s career. “From the start,” Large Professor began, “When they brought Nas’ demo to Russell [Simmons], Russell was like ‘Nah, he sound too much like [Kool] G Rap.” “It was crazy,” the artist continued, “We was in the same camp though. That’s what he wasn’t seeing — it was like, ‘Yo, Nas is actually a descendant of G, so… you should you know, accept a new generation type shit. But, Russell ain’t know that Force.”

Large Professor agrees that Simmons “f*cked up” on that one. It’s clear that Nas has managed to do well for himself in the time since, however, just recently dropping his 16th studio album, Magic 2. The LP acts as a follow-up to 2021’s Magic, and features 50 Cent and 21 Savage. He did limited promotion for his latest offering, only announcing the release date days before the drop.

Large Professor Thinks Russell Simmons “F*cked Up”

Nas also recently announced his collaboration with Hennessy in celebration of the 50th anniversary of hip hop. He flexed alongside his new “HenNASsy” bottle in an Instagram post yesterday. The “vibrant limited edition cognac” works to “[mark] a unique cultural milestone” with the help of Nas, according to Hennessy. The brand calls him “one of the genre’s most prolific talents.”

In a recent interview, 50 Cent discussed some other ways Nas was misunderstood earlier in his career. He revealed that his “Office Hours” collaborator turned out to be far more intelligent than he previously believed based on his music. “We’d be on the tour bus, and he’d be reading books and stuff,” Fif explained. “[Nas] was ahead of us. What he had, and I was looking at it going, ‘You gotta be careful’ because he was smarter than the music he was releasing… He was smarter than things he was saying on the records.”

Dame Dash Explains How He & Jay-Z Competed Over Aaliyah

Recently, Dame Dash sat down for an enlightening and at times odd conversation with the That’s F***ed Up podcast, going into the Hov and Nas beef and much more. Moreover, that last adjective came into play thanks to a conversation they had around late R&B star Aaliyah. Specifically, the Roc-A-Fella cofounder explained how he and Jay-Z actually fought for her heart at the same time. Sure, many expressed some discomfort at the idea given how young she was, and at the general idea of discussing these things about someone who is no longer with us. However, that aside, it still made for a somewhat comical anecdote, albeit one that has a much darker and more tragic context.

“I didn’t look at her like that because she was like a tomboy,” Dame Dash began. “She was little to me. But then one time- I guess we had the same book keeper, and I walked past. Every time I saw her, she looked different. She had different looks every time and I was like, ‘Who the f**k is that?’ I just threw my A-game. And then, you know, I guess Jay was trying to get at her as well, and I didn’t know. It got brought up and I was like ‘F**k both of y’all.’ But it never worked out for them, and we were both trying to get at her. And I kind of eased up, but then we ran into each other. It’s a long story.

Dame Dash Breaks Down Battling With Jay-Z For Aaliyah’s Attention

“Everybody was getting at Aaliyah, bro,” Dame Dash continued. “She’ll go to dinner with a n***a but she wasn’t gonna just be smashing. So that was the big deal, like, who can get with Aaliyah.” Then, one of the podcast hosts asked whether Hov was bitter about it. “Obviously,” he replied. “Yeah, he felt a way. But everybody knows that s**t. Well, they be trying to act like he was really f***ing with her. Nah, he was sending flowers and doing all that s**t, he was courting her. So we were both going hard and we ended up in the same house for 4th of July. So it was, like, one day it might lean towards him then it’ll lean towards me.

“But I was just on fire that week,” he concluded. “Everything I was saying was funny, you know what I’m saying? I remember coming downstairs and he was like… *sigh*. ‘Cause like, you know, his friends were laughing at him and s**t.” For more news and the latest updates on Dame Dash and Jay-Z, stick around on HNHH.

Will.i.am Recalls 2Pac Once Stealing A Black Eyed Peas Member’s Girlfriend

Will.i.am says that 2Pac once stole the girlfriend of Black Eyed Peas member Apl.de.Ap. He recalled the story during an interview with DJ Whoo Kid for the Whoo’s House podcast. While he explained that he never met the legendary rapper, Will.i.am told the story of Apl.de.Ap’s girl leaving him at Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles after seeing 2Pac.

“I never met Biggie,” Will.i.am said, “I never had an interaction with 2Pac, but Apl.de.Ap in the Black Eyed Peas, he had this girlfriend. I don’t wanna name her name or put her on blast, and they were eating at freaking Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles.”

Will.i.am continued: “She was hot, bro. She was a beautiful Puerto Rican young girl, when we were kids. 2Pac did like this [beckoning gesture] and then she was like, ‘Oh my gosh, I’ll be right back.’ 30 minutes later, [Apl’s] chicken waffles got all cold, freaking syrup got all freaking stiff, butter got freaking liquidy. And he was like, ‘She ain’t coming back…’ That’s his classic 2Pac [story].” Check out the full conversation below.

It’s not the first time Will.i.am has made headlines for discussing 2Pac. Just last year, he admitted that he wasn’t a fan of the legendary rapper’s music during an interview with The Art of Dialogue. When asked to choose between The Notorious B.I.G. or 2Pac, he went with KRS-One.

Will.i.am Discusses 2Pac With DJ Whoo Kid

“I’m such a Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul head that I don’t like 2Pac and Biggie,” he said at the time. “That kind of music doesn’t speak to my spirit. I like Boogie Down Productions, KRS-One … if it’s like 2Pac or Biggie? It’s KRS-One. Why those two? If it’s 2Pac and Biggie, I don’t hold them up like that. I hold Eric B. and Rakim like that. 2Pac’s dope, don’t get me wrong. It’s not like I don’t think he’s dope.”

Stephen A. Smith Says Death Is Too Good For Larry Nassar

Stephen A. Smith is someone who does not hold back on his opinions. Overall, it is his mentality when it comes to broadcasting that has gotten him so far in his career. At this point, he is the one keeping the lights on over at ESPN. Although this is a sentiment we have shared quite often, it still remains true. Without Smith, the network would not be experiencing the same kinds of success. First Take is their biggest show, and with Smith at the helm, it has truly taken off. Needless to say, they want him for the long haul.

Now, Stephen A. has his very own podcast that allows him to talk about whatever he wants. Sometimes, the conversations on this podcast can get NSFW. On other occasions, he speaks about topics from the sports world that wouldn’t otherwise be covered by First Take. This always makes for some great commentary, and yesterday, fans were subjected to just that. Below, you can see Stephen A. speaking on the Larry Nassar story. As we reported, the convicted sexual deviant had been stabbed numerous times in prison.

Stephen A. Goes Off

Overall, very few people cared about Larry Nassar’s fate. Although what happened to him was violent, there is little empathy from the general public when it comes to child molesters. Consequently, you can imagine how Stephen A. very much held the same opinion here. After all, Nassar is known for molesting members of the USA Gymnastics team, who are all household names. In the video above, Stephen A. made it clear that he believes death is simply too good for Nassar. He wants the man to get beat up every single day, but he doesn’t want him to die. Overall, Smith feels like it would be an easy way out.

Although some may say this is a harsh take on it all. Most would probably stand in solidarity with Smith. Let us know what you think of his opinion, down below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for more news and updates from around the sports world.

Danny Brown & Logic Speak Candidly About Dealing With Writer’s Block

Danny Brown and Logic both discussed the idea of writer’s block during a recent episode of the Danny Brown Show. Brown argued that he doesn’t deal with any writer’s block as long as his work is honest and comes from his own life experiences.

“Where’s the creative energy coming from?” Danny asked while discussing Logic’s output. “I just can’t f-ckin rap that much, man. Maybe I’m getting that age, that’s what it is. But no, I was like that even when I was younger.”

Logic responded: “I don’t think it’s an age thing. As creatives, we all work differently, you know what I mean? I got this shit that’s just pent up in me, y’know, like I write novels, I write movies, I write albums, I have fun, I do, y’know, whatever.” He then brought up getting over writer’s block by forcing himself to “just write.”

Danny added: “When you writing about your life, there ain’t no writer’s block. If you telling the truth, it ain’t no writer’s block. And that’s what I learned — when you trying to be cool and trying to make up bars and trying to do shit, yeah, you going to have writer’s block ’cause shit gon’ get dry, but if you just talkin’ about what you got going on in your life, no matter what, you never gonna have writer’s block.”

Logic Shares His Conversation With Danny Brown

The conversation comes after Logic recently shared the new song, “Noell,” which acts as a tribute to his wife. It’s just the latest of several singles that Logic has put out since the release of his most recent album, College Park, earlier this year. As for Danny Brown, he recently teamed up with JPEGMAFIA for the release of their collaborative album, Scaring the Hoes. The two will also be embarking on a tour together, later this year. Shows will run from July 25th through August 26th.

Ice Cube Claims The Music And Prison Industries Work Together

During a recent appearance on Bill Maher’s “Club Random” podcast, Ice Cube discussed ties he sees between the prison industrial complex and the entertainment industry. He claims that the prison system benefits from the rap industry, using it to put more people behind bars. “The narrative is really kind of structured and really made into what the record company wants the record to be,” he says.

“Like follow the money,” he begins, “I don’t know their names, but if you go high enough you begin to see this is an industry.” “Let’s take rap music,” he continues, “[The] same people who own the labels own the prisons. It seems really kind of suspicious—if you want to say that word—that the records that come out are really geared to push people toward their prison industry.” Ice Cube later went on to call it “social engineering,” to ensure that “prisons stay full.”

Ice Cube Claims The “Same People Who Own The Labels Own The Prisons”

When Maher claims that nobody is forcing artists to write the lyrics of their songs, Ice Cube argues. “It’s not about making somebody write the lyrics,” he says. “It’s about being near as guardrails to make sure certain songs make it through and certain songs don’t.” He then claims, “Certain flavors are exposed on the record. Some records are made by committee. Meaning record company guys sit around and tell the artists ‘This is hot, say that. Do this, we gonna have this guy write lyrics.’”

This isn’t the first time Ice Cube has been vocal about his controversial opinions. Earlier this year, he called AI music “bullsh*t,” claiming that it forces artists to be associated with things they never agreed to. “Samples are approved or denied by the song owners,” he wrote on Twitter. “Totally different than taking a dead artist and making a new song they never approved,” Ice Cube explained. He then went on to say, “That’s evil and demonic to me.
