Wireless Festival 2023 Will Be Headlined By Playboi Carti, Travis Scott, And D-Block Europe

Festival season isn’t complete with the announcement of international shows. Glastonbury Festival, Afro Nation, and Rolling Loud have all revealed their lineups. That leaves just a hand full of others, including Wireless Festival. Well, the organizers of the annual three-day music extravaganza have just dropped a promotional advert starring British talent Nella Rosa, Yung Filly, and more to share this year’s lineup.

The festival set to take place between July 7 and 9 in London’s Finsbury Park will be headlined by Playboi Carti (July 7), Travis Scott (July 8), and D-Block Europe with special guest 50 Cent (July 9). For the full day-to-day lineup, continue below.

With a roster full of drill, grime, and gangster rappers, the festival might as well lift its vulgarity clause.

During Scott’s previous appearance at the festival, he advocated for the release of ASAP Rocky, who was being detained by Swedish authorities. On the other hand, Playboi Carti had a bad fall during his set last year but recovered well.

Last year’s festival headliners included Offset and Cardi B (who nearly got into an incident with an attendee, as did Lil Uzi Vert).

GoPuff is billed as this year’s sponsor. While 1XTRA returns as the official broadcaster.

Tickets for Wireless Festival 2023 are on sale now. To grab a single-day ticket or sign up for a payment plan for multi-day passes, click here to be redirected to the festival’s official website.

Rolling Loud Is Returning To Portugal In 2023 With Travis Scott, Playboi Carti, And Meek Mill

Here’s some stunning news: Future is not headlining Rolling Loud in Portugal this year. It’ll be the first Rolling Loud to not feature Future as a headliner since the 2021 New York show, as he was billed on every event in 2022 and the upcoming return to Los Angeles this March. Instead, the Portugal show this year will be headlined by returning RL mainstay Travis Scott, Playboi Carti, and Meek Mill. It’ll take place the weekend of July 5-7 at Portimão, Praia Da Rocha Beach.

Also included on the lineup are such names as Central Cee, GloRilla, JID, Joey Badass, Kodak Black, Latto, Lil Durk, Lil Uzi Vert, NLE Choppa, Ski Mask The Slump God, Soulja Boy, and YG. Local acts like Wet Bed Gang (no comment) are also included, and a bunch of the lineup is dominated by British rap standouts like Aitch, Digga D, Sainté, Tion Wayne, and more.

Rolling Loud’s last event in Portugal took place July 6-8, 2022 and was headlined by ASAP Rocky, Future, and J. Cole. Clearly, it went well enough that the festival is returning to the Iberian Peninsula, with many of the same acts returning.

Presale for Rolling Loud Portugal begins January 26 at 10 am, while general sale begins at 1 pm. As usual, more info can be found on RollingLoud.com.

When Is Playboi Carti Dropping His New Album?

After Playboi Carti hinted that new music might be on the way, social media has been abuzz, wondering when his next project will drop.

The rapper took to Twitter on Christmas day with a simple caption, “love all my supporters, it’s time,” leading fans to speculate about him dropping a new album. Twitter users have been sharing all kinds of conspiracies regarding the rapper’s forthcoming project, including a theory that his message on Twitter was a sign that fans will get an album before the year’s end. The album will be Carti’s first album since the release of 2020’s Whole Lotta Red.

Carti and his team have neither confirmed nor denied a release date for the project, but fans will be waiting on the edge of their seats.

During an April interview with XXL, the rapper outlined his ambitions for his forthcoming album and opened up about his personal life. Carti said that he initially had plans to name the project Music. “I was about to name my album Music because that’s where I’m at, you know what I’m saying? Music,” Carti said. “That’s all it is at this point.”

The rapper also shared that the album is inspired by changes in his life and some of his vices. Ultimately, Carti hopes his next project brings “peace to the world.

What Has Playboi Carti Said About His New Album?

Playboi Carti made waves with 2020’s Whole Lotta Red, leaving fans wanting more. Luckily, they won’t be waiting too long. During an interview with XXL earlier this year, the Georgia rapper recently opened up about the direction for his third upcoming studio album.

Throughout the chat, the rapper outlined his ambitions for his forthcoming album and opened up about his personal life. Carti revealed that he initially had plans to name the project Music.

“I was about to name my album Music because that’s where I’m at, you know what I’m saying? Music,” Carti said. “That’s all it is at this point.”

The rapper also shared that the album is inspired by changes in his life and some of his vices. Ultimately, Carti hopes his next project brings “peace to the world.”

“Love. Sex. Drugs. Changes in my life,” he continued. “I’ve been rapping about going to rehab. I want to go to rehab because I think I’m bipolar. I want everybody to feel free. I want this album to make everyone feel free. I hope this album brings peace to the world, honestly.” He added, “I’m in love with what I’m doing. Like I told you, you can’t put a genre alternative [on me]. My little brother told me that all the time.”

Playboi Carti Posted Ambiguously To Social Media And Fans Are Hoping For The Gift Of New Music

Two years after unleashing Whole Lotta Red, his first career No. 1 album, Playboi Carti stirred up a whole lotta speculation. The drawn-out Whole Lotta Red rollout involved ambiguous release dates, viral teases, and rampant fan excitement. Now, the Atlanta rapper appears to be repeating history.

On Christmas Day (December 25), Carti sent his first tweet since October 2021 (“Hello Twitter”) and four hours later, he followed it with, “love all my supporters it’s time.” He paired that with two Instagram posts, including a screenshot of an audio preview on his Instagram Story.

Carti was asked about his next album during an April interview with XXL. “I was about to name my album Music because that’s where I’m at, you know what I’m saying? Music,” he said. When pressed to clarify what the album’s name would be, he doubled down: “Music because that’s all it is at this point.”

Carti was then asked about “the topics that are important” or that he found himself rapping about or writing about while crafting the project.

“Love. Sex. Drugs. Changes in my life,” he said. “I’ve been rapping about going to rehab. I want to go to rehab because I think I’m bipolar. I want everybody to feel free. I want this album to make everyone feel free. I hope this album brings peace to the world, honestly. I’m in love with what I’m doing. Like I told you, you can’t put a genre alternative [on me]. My little brother told me that all the time.”

ASAP Rocky Addresses His Short Rolling Loud New York Set: ‘I Am So Hurt Right Now’

A$AP Rocky teased that Rolling Loud in New York City’s Citi Field on Saturday night (September 24) would be “his last show until the album.” Turns out, Rocky’s fans will only have 30 minutes to tide them over. The Harlem-bred rapper expressed disappointment over his short set that saw him bring out Glorilla and French Montana.

“I am so hurt right now!” Rocky wrote in a note posted to Twitter on Sunday afternoon (September 25). “Last night was supposed to be a turning point in my live shows from the old to new! I will take full responsibility for the circumstances of what led to last nights show being everything it was and everything it wasn’t.”

The 33-year-old continued: “I also want to acknowledge that even tho I prepared the best show for my fans, detail for detail , over the course of MONTHS… I was unfortunately not able to bring my vision to fruition and Im hurt about that and I want to apologize to all of my fans and continued supporters, and thank y’all for showing up for me regardless!! A$AP4EVA.”

According to TMZ, Rocky was supposed to begin his set at 8:55 p.m. local time “but didn’t go on until a good 45 minutes later,” and the set was cut short by Rolling Loud organizers “because of a noise ordinance.”

Rocky took the stage with “Grim Freestyle” followed by “Lord Pretty Flacko Jodye 2.” Midway through, he performed “Sights,” his new collaborative single with Playboi Carti, for the first time. Then, Glorilla joined for a rendition of her breakthrough hit “FNF (Let’s Go),” and Rocky closed out the abbreviated set alongside French Montana for “Mopstick.”

Throughout, Rocky spent time between songs calling for fans to “open that b*tch” for mosh pits, which resulted in the meme treatment. Tyler, the Creator went as far as switching his Instagram profile picture to the circulating photo of a struggling Rocky in the subpar pit.

Rocky didn’t have to endure the internet’s wrath for too long, though. Shortly after posting his apology, Rihanna confirmed she is the halftime performer for Super Bowl LVII on February 12, 2023. The couple welcomed their first child earlier this year.

Kanye West Joins Playboi Carti On Stage During His Rolling Loud New York Performance

Kanye West made a surprise appearance at Rolling Loud New York this weekend. Last night, Ye joined Playboi Carti during his Rolling Loud set, and the two performed their collaboration, “Off The Grid” from Ye’s Donda album.

Carti and Ye have collaborated and performed together several times. Ye executive produced Carti’s most recent album, Whole Lotta Red, and Carti joined Ye earlier this year for a performance at his Donda 2 album release party.

This past April. Carti spoke with XXL, where he spoke about the creative process behind Whole Lotta Red, and shared how Ye has been a good mentor for him in his career. Carti spoke highly of Ye and credited him, as well as ASAP Rocky for helping elevate his career.

Words can’t describe…that’s my big brother. That’s my friend. I talk to Kanye every day. He’s different and I’m different. I see myself in him a lot and I’m pretty sure he feels the same. I don’t really have too many friends and that’s really one of my friends. I love him. I love ASAP Rocky. What them two guys did for me is… I love them and I appreciate everything.
