Nicki Minaj’s ‘Pink Friday 2 World Tour’ Opening Night Was Nearly Overshadowed After A Video Surfaced Of Fans Fighting At The Show

Nicki Minaj came out swinging to kick off her highly anticipated Pink Friday 2 World Tour.

Unfortunately, so did a few of her devoted super fans, the Barbs. As the “Beep Beep” rapper took to the Oakland Arena stage on March 1, clips of her opening performance quickly flooded social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter). But there was one video that stole all the spotlight, and it didn’t involve Minaj at all. A now-viral visual shared on the platform showed several concertgoers involved in a vicious brawl.

In the clip, two attendees are seen punching another ticketholder. The blows exchange as security watches from afar before eventually intervening to separate the parties. With tensions still high, the last frame of the video shows the individuals yelling while being held back before it ends.

It is unclear what initiated the incident as none of the individuals have been publicly identified. Minaj also hasn’t addressed the viral video. However, she did take a moment to pen a touching note to her fans for their continued support days later. “Dear Barbz, I love you,” she wrote. “I really do. Always have. Always will.”

Minaj has several dozen shows left on her Pink Friday 2 World Tour. The next performance is slated for March 8 in Las Vegas, Nevada. View the full tour schedule (here), working setlist (here), and tour merch (here).

Katt Williams Responds To Nicki Minaj’s Tour Invite

One of the biggest tours of 2024 just got underway. Nicki Minaj has only played two shows in her Pink Friday 2 tour but it’s already making nightly news. But she obviously isn’t the only one on tour right now. Comedian Katt Williams is also making his way around the country on The Dark Matter Tour. A few weeks ago during an Instagram live, Nicki invited Williams to join her on the Pink Friday 2 Tour as an opening act. During a recent stand-up set, Williams finally responded to the invite.

While performing in Charlotte, Katt Williams brought up Nicki’s offer, though he didn’t linger on it for long. “Nicki Minaj said she wanted me on her tour and she told so many people a million people hit my phone at the same time. It scared me and Jesus. He shut all of AT&T down so my phone could cool off on the charger,” he remarked. While the joke didn’t necessarily directly address his feelings on the invitation, it’s yet another example of the amount of interest Nicki can create among her fans with just a few words. Check out a clip of Williams’ response below.

Katt Williams Jokes About Nicki Minaj Tour Invite

Earlier this year, Katt Williams caused quite a stir with his appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast. On the show he was given a platform to make seemingly whatever claims he wanted and he certainly made the most of the opportunity. Williams called out numerous figures in music, comedy, and Hollywood which were met with a variety of responses. The bizarre interview even ended up on Saturday Night Live where the cast parodied his increasingly unbelievable claims.

Williams almost teamed up with another musician a few years ago. In a recent interview Solange revealed she nearly worked with the comedian on her album A Seat At The Table. What do you think of Katt Williams response to Nicki Minaj inviting him onto the Pink Friday 2 Tour? Do you think he should have accepted her invitation? Let us know in the comment section below.

Nicki Minaj Shows Off Her Flexibility With An On-Stage Split During “Pink Friday 2” Show

One of the biggest tours of 2024 got underway earlier this month. Nicki Minaj took off on the back of her new album Pink Friday 2 with a tour of the same name. So far she’s played two shows in Oakland and Denver. Across the next few months, she’ll play a few dozen more shows across North America before taking off to Europe in May. Though the tour has only just gotten started, clips from the performances are already attracting plenty of attention online.

Earlier today, video started making the rounds online of an attention-grabbing piece of choreography from one of the shows. In the clip, Nicki shows off her flexibility by doing a split on stage in an incredibly revealing fit. Fans cheer her on as she takes her time descending to an almost full split. But her stopping short of that full split actually drew some criticisms from fans in the comments. “Did anyone else cringe?” and “Chillleee yall paid hundreds of dollars for this ?” two other comments read. Others compare her to some of her other female rap contemporaries. “Lmaoooo sis couldn’t do that center split. Meg and Cardi do it with no hesitation” another comment reads. Check out the video and the fan reactions to it below.

Nicki Minaj’s Almost Full Split

The very first show of the Pink Friday 2 tour was already quite an event. The show took place in Oakland and a video of Barbz brawling in the audience. TMZ shared a clip of a surprisingly large and intense fight that broke out in the stands, though security eventually swarmed in to break things up. Barbz in attendance also started a chant taking at aim at Latto, who Nicki has had beef with throughout the past year.

What do you think of the video of Nicki Minaj performing an almost full split? Do you think she should keep it in her choreography at forthcoming shows on the Pink Friday 2 tour? Let us know in the comment section below.

DJ Akademiks Stunned To Discover Nicki Minaj Genuinely Sold Out “Pink Friday 2” Tour

DJ Akademiks’ plan to prove Nicki Minaj was “washed” backfired when the controversial social media creator discovered live on stream that the rapper’s Pink Friday 2 tour was genuinely sold out. Akademiks, a longtime critic of Minaj, had jumped online to “prove” that the claims of Minaj’s tour sales were overblown. However, try as he might, he was unable to any of her tour dates that had more than a few tickets still available. Minaj continues her tour tonight (March 3) with a show in Denver before heading to Las Vegas next week.

The Barbz, after learning of the livestream, were more than happy to dunk on Akademiks. “The industry is wicked. Dude clicked through multiple dates prepared to hate then realized that Nicki Minaj’s tour is INDEED SOLD OUT. Mind you they never do this to any other artist. Thankfully Nicki’s impact is immeasurable. Gods plan🙏,” one popular fan account wrote on X.

Nicki Minaj Fans Chant “F*ck Latto” At Opening Show Of Pink Friday 2 Tour

Meanwhile, the Barbz were out for blood as the Pink Friday 2 tour opened in Oakland, with members of the audience heard chanting “F-ck Latto” at several points. The animosity towards Latto likely stems from her beef with Ice Spice, who is considered a Minaj “ally” after several collabs between the two. Furthermore, Latto is considered a Cardi B “ally” after the pair collaborated on “Put It On Da Floor Again” last year.

Latto and Spice have been trading blows for the last few weeks. Spice released the diss track “Think You The Sh-t (Fart)” to take aim at Latto. Later, she went after her rival for using “Pretty Girl” music video footage in a TikTok. Meanwhile, Latto hit back with the diss track “Sunday Service”. Furthermore, she also referred to Spice as a “little girl” in a clapback post on social media. However, some Barbz have claimed the fandom does not hate Latto as a rule.
