Top 10 Hottest R&B Albums Of 2024

Overall, 2024 was phenomenal for a whole lot of reasons, and chief among them was the sheer amount of quality R&B albums we got. The genre’s biggest superstars decided to drop projects, and we are certainly grateful for that. From sensational debuts to continuations of iconic album series, R&B fans were truly blessed.

Having said that, we have now reached the end of the year and it is officially time to count down the hottest R&B albums of 2024. We’re sure there is going to be quite a bit of debate about these. Drake Reminds Fans That PARTYNEXTDOOR Collab Album Is Still Coming Amid Petition

Drake is quite busy these days with his UMG and Spotify petition, but don’t think that he and PARTYNEXTDOOR have forgotten about their upcoming collab album. Moreover, he recently took to Instagram to tease the project once more, tagging PND and including three dollar signs. That seems to be the calling card of sorts for the project, but it’s hard to say whether it has something to do with the title, the vibes, or some other aspect of the release. Either way, fans are very excited and anxious, as their teased release window of cold fall or winter months is starting to close.

“Me and PARTY’s album is 75 percent done,” Drake remarked during his appearance on xQc’s livestream recently. “Shout out to PX cooking right now. Album is sounding incredible. Shout to the Six, the whole city, anybody watching from Canada, we love you. […] I always have a problem making shorter albums…” Putting the LP out soon would certainly make sense, as Drizzy has his Australian tour coming up in February. As for his OVO partner, PND dropped a new album earlier this year, so at least fans are fed with that while they wait.

Drake Teases PARTYNEXTDOOR Collab Album

Still, this UMG and Spotify petition does cast a bit of a shadow over Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR’s collaborative album, mainly because this label conflict could tamper with its release. In fact, people like DJ Akademiks think that the project will not come out until the 6ix God signs a new deal and resolves his legal matter with UMG, Spotify, and iHeartMedia. However, other fans hold out more hope for an independent release, the notion that the petition won’t affect the album, or a direct OVO release.

Still, the actual logistics behind all of these options remains very unclear, so we will ultimately have to wait and see what happens. Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR always display great chemistry, so no one doubts that the album will most likely garner praise upon its release. It’s just comforting to hear that the legal petition and Aubrey’s responses to it did not fully stop this collaborative album in its tracks.

Drake Teases New Music “From The North” In Moody Instagram Post

It’s anybody’s guess what Drake is doing. The rapper has had an odd couple of months. He’s notched some impressive awards and statistics, despite taking what many consider to be a massive L during the Kendrick Lamar battle. He was the most streamed rapper on Spotify (again), and he won three statues at the Billboard Music Awards. Perhaps the recognition inspired him. Drake took to Instagram on Thursday, December 19 to confirm that he’s working on new music. He also confirmed producer Noah “40” Shebib is working alongside him.

Drake posted a photo of 40 working in front of a fireplace decorated for Christmas. The producer has a laptop open, and is very obviously working on a song. Drake doesn’t appear in the photo, but he included the caption: “strong winds from the north.” It’s unclear if the 6 God means the north of Toronto, or if he’s working from his new home in Texas. It’s the first time the rapper has confirmed that new music is in the works, either way. A relief, given that fans are still waiting on the collaborative album between him and his OVO brother, PARTYNEXTDOOR.

Drake And 40 Are Working On New Material

Drake announced that his collab with PND would be out before the end of 2024. We only have so many days left in the year, though. It looks likely that the joint album has been delayed. PND promised fans he would get down to business finishing it once he got off tour, but it’s unclear if the rapper has completed his contributions. It’s possible that the song 40 is mixing on IG is one that’ll end up on the collab album. It’s a wise move on Drake’s part to generate anticipation for new music, though, given that most of the press he’s gotten lately has been negative.

The rapper reportedly plans to sue Universal Music Group and Spotify for using shady tactics to boost the streams of Kendrick Lamar’s diss, “Not Like Us.” He has been criticized by peers, fans, and various members of the media for his decision. The most recent derision came from Snoop Dogg. The L.A. icon went on the Bootleg Kev Podcast and claimed Drake was not acting in a way becoming of a rapper. “On the West, we hold court in the streets,” Snoop asserted. “That’s just what we call it.”

Drake Reveals Official Status Of His PartyNextDoor Collab Album

The livestream with fellow Canadian xQc and Drake continues to produce some intriguing headlines. Multiple clips from it have circling the internet. However, this one might be the most exciting one yet. Back in August, The Boy officially revealed that him and his OVO partner, PARTYNEXTDOOR, were going to drop an album. He revealed this during a shocking appearance at PND’s show and announcing the news in the most Drizzy way possible. “Once summer over with… do what you need to do. I know all you girls are outside and when it gets a little chilly… a PARTYNEXTDOOR and Drake album will be right there for you.”

Given that slightly cryptic bombshell, many were speculation a potential fall release. However, we are now at the end of November and still nothing. It became clearer and clearer that the Canadian duo was not that close to being finished as we may have thought. Both artists have been hyping it up, labeling it a future classic and things like that. Additionally, they have been pretty vague in terms of the actual status of the project. But as we said, Drake’s most recent update during the xQc stream is tantalizing. It gives everyone a better idea of when it may arrive, especially with one month left to go.

Drake & PartyNextDoor’s LP Is “75% Done”

“Me and PARTY’s album is 75 percent done. Shout out to PX cooking right now. Album is sounding incredible. Shout to the Six, the whole city, anybody watching from Canada, we love you.” After that, xQc tried to get some more intel, asking his guest about any tracklist details. Drake answered the question, but also didn’t at the same time.

“I always have a problem making shorter albums…” The clip cuts off there, but it seems like the other 25 percent is going to be making final cuts to the tracklist. Given this and the initial reveal, there is definitely still time for Drake and PARTY to get this out. They may have it out by late December, which would fall in alignment with the For All The Dogs MC also making it known that he’s going on tour during Super Bowl week. In fact, the “Anita Max Wynn Australia Tour” will kick off the day of the big game and Kendrick Lamar’s Halftime Show performance.

Drake Teases International Tour Dates With Nostalgic Throwback Post

Drake has been quiet on the music front for the last few months. He dropped a Chino Pacas collab, but by and large, he has kept fans waiting on his anticipated joint album with PARTYNEXTDOOR. He’s also been hinting at an international tour in 2024. The rapper took to his Instagram Story on November 11 to bolster the rumor that he will be hitting stages throughout the world in the new year. How did he do it? Well, by looking backwards.

Drake posted a photo of himself looking out at the Sydney Opera House. The photo was taken in 2015, which was the last time the rapper performed in Sydney. “It’s been like 7 years,” he wrote. The math is a bit off, but the sentiment remains. Drizzy is seemingly headed down under for the first time in a decade. It’s not the first time the rapper has used IG to gauge interest in an international tour. He teased the “No One Likes Us” tour via some grainy photos of merchandise a few months. The authenticity has yet to be confirmed, but the text underneath the alleged title reads: “Euro 2024.”

Drake Previously Hinted At “Euro 2024” Tour

The plan, if true, would align with the impending PARTYNEXTDOOR collab album. Drake hinted at a release date in the fall back in August. On November 7, the rapper took to Instagram to comment under a PND Instagram post. “THAT TIME,” he wrote, leading fans to believe that the album’s release date is right around the corner. If the album does indeed meet its fall release plan, then it makes sense that the 6 God would want to carry the momentum over to a world tour. Especially if the tour in question helps to erase some of the bruises that Drake took during the Kendrick Lamar battle.

It’s worth nothing that 2024 is almost over, though. Drake doesn’t have much time to announce tour dates, and he’s prone to pushing back the release dates for his albums. If the PARTYNEXTDOOR album gets delayed, or the planning for an international tour proves more complicated than initially planned, then fans may have to wait until 2025. The good news is that Drake seems eager to get back on the global stage. Hopefully he drops specific dates sooner than later.

Drake Claims It’s “That Time” To Drop PARTYNEXTDOOR Collab Album

Drake really needs to drop a good album. It’s not that the rapper has been dropping trash, but he’s reached a point in his career where his personal antics have overtaken his professional output. The world is more fascinated with Drake’s feelings about Kendrick Lamar. Or what DeMar DeRozan has to say after the 6 God dogged him during an NBA game. Drake needs to place the focus back on the music, and an album with PARTYNEXTDOOR is as good a bet as any. It seems like we’re getting it soon, too.

PARTYNEXTDOOR has been on tour, but the R&B singer told fans he would prioritize the album as soon as he wrapped up his last performance. It seems like he’s lived up to his promise. The singer hopped on Instagram on November 7 to teases the joint release. “Finito party people,” he wrote on IG. “Everybody, thank you, reloading…” “Reloading” is a term that PARTYNEXTDOOR has used repeatedly over the last few months. The difference here, though, is that Drake chimed in. The OVO honcho commented on the singer’s post to further drum up hype. “$$$ THAT TIME,” he wrote.

Drake Previously Alluded To A Fall Release Date

Drake didn’t elaborate, but it doesn’t take much to put together what he means. The 6 God did, after all, promise that the joint album would be dropping during the fall. “I know all you girls are outside and when it gets a little chilly,” he told a concert crowd in August. “PARTYNEXTDOOR and Drake album will be right there for you.” PARTYNEXTDOOR has kept the hype alive in recent months by dropping hints about the album’s tracklist and its status. He promised the album was “getting finished” on November 5, and he’d previously teased that there would be 15 songs.

Drake’s musical output has been frequent, but it hasn’t really been consistent in 2024. The rapper has tried his hand at everything from Mexican corridos to dancehall covers of Plain White T’s songs. It’s not been the easiest year for the 6 God since “lost” the battle to Kendrick Lamar. If he’s able to lock in with PND, however, the narrative could shift. Drake and PARTY have always had musical chemistry, and fans are hopeful that the OVO veteran could bring the best out of his boss.

PARTYNEXTDOOR Confirms Drake Album Is “Getting Finished” Soon

We’re getting close. PARTYNEXTDOOR and Drake shook day one OVO fans to their core when they announced plans for a joint album in August. The 6 God came out during a PND show and confirmed that fans will have something to listen to come the fall. Well, the fall has been here for a bit, and there’s still no word on the album. Drake has gone radio silent. PARTYNEXTDOOR has continued to tour. Thankfully, the latter gave fans a much-needed update on November 4.

PARTYNEXTDOOR hopped on Instagram Live to confirm that he will kick the album into high gear once he gets off tour. “I have one more show on this tour,” he explained to fans “And then the album is getting finished.” It’s the most concrete update fans have gotten in months, and it tracks with what we’ve been told previously. PARTYNEXTDOOR claimed that the joint album will feature 15 songs. OVONoel, a veteran member of Drake’s team, also gave fans a hint as to what to expect during an October appearance on The Fry Yiy Show.

PARTYNEXTDOOR Promises To Finish The Album ASAP

“You guys know what’s coming for you,” OVONoel told the host. “Party and Drake have a classic. We trying to put the finishing touches on it.” The fact that finishing touches have yet to be applied a month after OVONoel’s comments is not the most encouraging sign. That said, PARTYNEXTDOOR’s tour does make sense as a reason why. The singer has been traveling the world in promotion of his last album, PND 4. It was during this tour, actually, that Drake came out and dropped the bombshell about their plans.

It’s encouraging to know that PARTYNEXTDOOR is getting into album mode. Drake has been very public over the last few months, but not in a musical capacity. The rapper celebrated his birthday, and spoke to a Toronto crowd about feeling betrayed. He also attended a Toronto Raptors game where he stared down and openly taunted opposing player DeMar DeRozan. The latter took Kendrick Lamar’s side in the 2024 rap battle, and appeared in the “Not Like Us” video. It’s obvious Drake still feels a way about it. Here’s hoping he can channel his energy into making a great R&B album.

PartyNextDoor Finally Releases Much Anticipated Loosie “Dreamin”

PARTYNEXTDOOR and Drake have fans on the edge of their seats as the wait on their collaboration project. Overall, there’s a strong belief it will drop by the end of the year and it will apparently contain 15 cuts, according to the OVO signee. “The one we doing right now, all 15 we doing right now,” he said in response to someone who asked him what his favorite track was. Hopefully, a release date/cover art reveal comes within the next couple of weeks. But for now, PARTYNEXTDOOR is surprising his loyal fanbase once more in 2024 by dropping off “Dreamin.” This is a prized loosie within his community, and one that made headway in March 2015.

“Dreamin” is known as a potential throwaway from the first PARTYNEXTDOOR era. Additionally, it’s supposedly a part of stretch in 2015 that saw multiple unreleased songs circle the internet. Regardless of how long this song has been in limbo, fans sure seem ecstatic that it’s getting an official widespread release. “He really released this officially, what a W,” one Reddit user says. “Dope. He’s one of those artists that has a huge amount of leaks, some of which is up there as his best stuff,” another adds. We agree with the praise and can see what the chatter has been about. PARTY sounds right at home over this spacey and rumbling contemporary production. Overall, it’s not one of his most riveting lyrical performances, but the vibes sure are, and this track shows how he’s built his respected reputation over the years.

PARTYNEXTDOOR Teases New Music With Cryptic Instagram Post

PARTYNEXTDOOR has been cooking something up over the last few months. The R&B veteran already dropped an album in 2024, but he hasn’t slowed down. If anything, his radio silence in the last couple of months has fans anticipating something huge. It helps, of course, that PARTYNEXTDOOR has already confirmed a Drake collab album before the end of the year. Details have been sparse since the album was announced, but a recent Instagram post suggests new music is around the corner.

On October 28, PARTYNEXTDOOR posted a batch of photos to his profile. The caption made it clear that the era defined by his last album, PARTYNEXTDOOR 4, is no more. There’s something else brewing, and it’s almost here. “Next life loading,” he wrote. The word choice does seemingly allude to the “More Life” mantra that Drake has been using since the release of the playlist of the same name in 2017. A playlist that also featured a PARTYNEXTDOOR collab. PND has also confirmed that the collaboration album with Drake will boast 15 songs.

PARTYNEXTDOOR Teased ‘New Life Loading…’

Drake confirmed that the joint album would be dropping in the fall, and we are firmly in the thick of the season. The rapper’s birthday month has come and gone, but even without word of new music, there have been hints at what’s to come. Footage of Drake partying on his birthday made its way online, and some of the footage include snippets of unreleased songs. The snippets weren’t long enough to discern if PARTYNEXTDOOR appeared on any of the songs, but the way people around them have talked it up, it sounds like it’s almost done.

OVO Noel recently went on The Fry Yiy Show on SiriusXM. The veteran engineer assured the host that Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR have a “classic” in the works, and he’s excited for the world to hear it. “You guys know what’s coming for you,” he asserted. “Party and Drake have a classic. We trying to put the finishing touches on it, so.” Noel has been Drake’s engineer since the release of Thank Me Later in 2010, so it’s safe to assume he has the inside scoop.

PartyNextDoor Promises A ‘Classic’ Joint Album With Drake, Which They’re Putting ‘Finishing Touches’ On

Drake and PartyNextDoor’s joint album may be coming soon, if we can believe what Party said during a recent interview. While appearing on OVO’s The Fry Yiy Show, Party gave an interesting update on the album’s status.

“I have had an insane week,” he said. “You guys know what’s coming for you. Party and Drake have a classic. And we, you know, we trying to put the finishing touches on it, so… Yeah, it’s a jam-packed month for me filled with the thing that I love to do the most.”

Drake first teased the upcoming collaboration during the Toronto stop of Party’s Sorry, I’m Outside Tour promoting his new album, P4. The hometown heroes surprised attendees with Drake’s appearance, then Drake surprised them again with the news that they’re putting together a new album — a welcome announcement for beleaguered Drake fans weary of catching hell online in the wake of his harrowing Kendrick Lamar battle.

Then, earlier this month, Drake liked a post promising the album’s on-track for a fall release. Party also revealed that the project will have 15 songs — although knowing these two, that could change as easily as a release date. Fans eager to hear more of the chemistry that the two artists have flashed on prior collaborations like “Recognize,” “Loyal,” and “Come And See Me” are hoping for an October release, as it would fit the title of their label, October’s Very Own, but it sounds like they are aiming to at least have it out before December.
