Offset Calls Off Lawsuit With Quality Control

Offset and Quality Control, the label that has supported him, as well as his group Migos, have politely agreed to move on. The 32-year-old rapper filed a lawsuit over a year ago against the Atlanta-based music label over his solo music. According to TMZ, the documents laid out that Offset’s claim was that the label was attempting to take full control of his own music and they were not being upfront about the contract they agreed to. Furthermore, it appears a settlement will be the result of all of this. The lawsuit was dismissed on August 8.

Lately, Offset has been releasing songs under Motown, which is a subsidiary of Quality Control. Even though things are mostly in the clear, people who are tight with Offset have said that the hitmaker will not be re-joining the label as a solo artist. That is why singles, such as “Jealousy”, featuring his spouse, Cardi B are in partnership with Motown. Moreover, the altercations between his fellow member, Quavo, have subsided and they are repairing their relationship.

Should Offset and Quavo Make Music Again?

Now that both have moved on is there any indication of new music? At the moment, it does not seem like a realistic goal. However, Quavo’s Rocket Power is slated to drop on August 18. It is a tribute to the late, great third of the trio, Takeoff. There could be a Offset feature, but we will have to wait and see.

What are your general thoughts on this lawsuit? What do you think led to Offset dropping the court battle with Quality Control? Do you think he should still go back to the label as a solo artist? We want to hear all of what you have to say in the comments section below. Additionally, be sure to keep it locked it with HNHH for all the latest news around the hip-hip industry.

Offset Drops Lawsuit Against Quality Control

Offset NYSE

Offset’s time as a member of the Quality Control roster appears to be over and there may be a settlement involved. TMZ obtained legal docs showing Offset dismissed his lawsuit against the label, calling off a battle over his music and solo career.

Offset will move on from QC and any issues between the involved parties have been “smoothed over.”

Offset’s career is set to continue with Motown Records, where he dropped off the single for “Jealousy” featuring Cardi B. The video opens with Jamie Lee Curtis narrating the drama. The two directly address the issues between the two in the bars. In the visual, Offset evokes Jodi from Baby Boy, leaving the crib and hopping on his bike to ride through the streets of LA.

Keeping it to the Baby Boy theme, Cardi B calls her homegirl to complain, who happened to be the original Yvette, Taraji P. Henson.

After an impressive opening run from Offset, including a beat transition that forces a head nod, Cardi B tags in for a float of her own, adding on to her impressive run of features through 2023.

Offset Got Jamie Lee Curtis In His And Cardi B’s ‘Jealousy’ Trailer In Exchange For An Instagram Follow

When Offset announced his new single “Jealousy” with his wife Cardi B, many fans were awed that he somehow secured a cameo from legendary actress Jamie Lee Curtis in a preview for the song. The clip, which recreated an unusual 1988 interview between CNN’s Dr. Sonya Friedman and a seemingly unhinged James Brown, found Curtis taking on the role of Friedman and Offset giving the same sort of wildly improvised answers as Brown. Today, on Good Morning America, Offset explains how he got such a high-profile cameo.

“Jamie Lee Curtis is a real one,” he exclaimed. “How that happened is, I DMed Jamie Lee Curtis on Instagram and said, ‘Yo, I got an idea. I would love to work with you.’ So, she wrote me back so quick and she like, ‘Yeah, I got you, but you need to follow me.’” He says after she heard the idea, she was game… and the best part? All this took place after her recent Oscar win for her role in Everything Everywhere All At Once.

Offset also talks about his and Cardi’s kids, admitting that “for the girls, I’m a softie, but for the boys, I’m a disciplinarian,” and how being vulnerable as a man can be “challenging.” Check out the clip above for more, but don’t expect to hear his upcoming album’s title just yet; that’s apparently something he’s keeping tightly under wraps for the time being.

Rappers Offset, DDG, and NLE Choppa Support Kai Cenat Following NYC ‘Riot’ Arrest

This weekend, Kai Cenat was arrested in New York City during a Playstation 5 giveaway. The social media promoted giveback drew thousands of raving fans looking to connect with the popular streamer. This morning, BBC News reported that the New York City Police Department plans to charge Cenat with multiple counts of inciting a riot and unlawful assembly.

The event was described as an episode, which began shortly after 3 p.m. and was effectively over by 6 p.m., resulted in 65 arrests (nearly half of them of juveniles); injuries to officers and some of those in the crowd; and damage to food carts, police vehicles, and stores, officials said.

NYPD also claimed that Cenat had no permit to do the giveaway and declared the event a “Level four” mobilization, meaning approximately 1,000 officers were deployed to the scene. The famous Twitch star is out of custody and will await updates on his charges in the following weeks.

Following Cenat’s arrest, multiple rappers supported him on social media. NLE Choppa said, “Y’all don’t even charge the KKK When they do that negative shit but charge a successful black man for giving back. The system so designed for us to fail it doesn’t make sense”! He followed his initial post by saying, “I ain’t saying what he did what’s done correctly, course, it’s something he could’ve done better, but his intentions were pure that’s all that matter, he wanted to help, give back, inspire, and most importantly spread love.”

Offset also posted on social media asserting, “How you lock Kai up for giving back to his fans….New York be tripping”! Shortly after, DDG tweeted, “Free them AMP boys.” Cenat’s team has yet to comment following the arrest.

Quavo Delayed His Upcoming Solo Album ‘Rocket Power’ To ‘Run Some More Tests’

It looks like we’re going to have to wait a little bit longer for Quavo‘s second solo album, Rocket Power. Yesterday, the Migos rapper took to Instagram to share that Rocket Power has been pushed back.

In a video on Quavo’s account, the Atlanta rapper is seen listening to mixes of the new album. “We gotta run some more tests before the rocket is ready to launch,” the post’s caption reads.

The album was originally set to drop this Friday, but has now been pushed back two weeks. The album is largely inspired by his Migos bandmate Takeoff, who was killed last November following an altercation in Houston.

In a recent interview with Jamie Crawford-Walker, Quavo shared that he has felt Takeoff’s presence everywhere as he’s been working on the project.

“I miss him a lot and I love him,” Quavo said. “He know I love him. That’s what we always know. So when you see me and you see me smiling or something like that, you don’t gotta never think I forgot about him or I’ll forget about him. I think about him all the time. Sometimes I cry myself to sleep. And that’s it. I just know he’s here. If I can’t feel him, I just know he’s around.”

Rocket Power is out 8/18 via Quality Control/Capitol.

Offset revealed why he cheated in a new conversation with Angela Yee, stating he “was in a different space.”

“I was young. I had just got married. I’m getting a lot of money,” Offset said. “Really, it was communication. We got married and then we ain’t really, our communication was good, but I wasn’t saying my wants and needs, and vice versa. Sometimes you feel like you’ll bump heads when you not communicating. We both in the front, center stage, all our business is always public.”

Offset also revealed he was using lean and making bad decisions while solely thinking about himself.

Offset is officially backtracking accusations of Cardi B cheating on him. At the end of June, Offset got the timeline in an uproar by suggesting Cardi B cheated on him, getting a response from the rap queen via Twitter spaces. Cardi would say, “Stop acting stupid.”

Cardi B opened the audio stream by singing Keyshia Cole’s “I Should’ve Cheated” before giving a more formal statement.

“Don’t pay attention to the country man, y’all,” Cardi said. “I’m fuckin Cardi B. If I was giving this pussy to anybody, it would be out. I’m just not anybody. I can’t fuckin no regular degular shmegular because they gon tell the world. I can’t fuck nobody in the industry cause they gon tell too.

“So please boy, stop acting stupid. Don’t play with me.”

“That post, to be honest, that’s my wife, I love her to death,” Offset opened. If you got a New York woman, you got a pitbull at the mouth. We was going back and forth, I like a lil Casamigos, I was lit and I said, ‘watch this.’ I love my wife at the end of the day but she crazy man.”

Cardi’s message came after a post-and-delete from Offset, which Cardi says stems from another Twitter Spaces chat.

Offset Was ‘Really Lit’ When He Accused Cardi B Of Cheating On Instagram, He Admitted While Breaking Down What Happened

In June, Offset wrote on an Instagram Story, “My wife f*cked a N**** on me gang yall n****s know how I come.” Naturally, that was received as an allegation that Cardi B cheated on him, so she responded. Now, Offset has cleared the whole situation up, admitting that alcohol played a role.

In a new interview on the Way Up With Angela Yee podcast, Offset explained, “Alright, so that post… to be honest, like… me and her going… that’s my wife, I love her to death.
