Nicki Minaj

Nicki Minaj recently defended the female rappers she selected for the “Super Freaky Girl Queen Mix.” However, fans on social media have solely focused on the drama behind it, missing an iconic moment for female rappers in hip-hop. Nicki Minaj sent social media into a frenzy after a recent Queen Radio Tea Party episode.  The […]

Megan Thee Stallion Spars With Barbz After They Accuse Her Of Telling Nicki Minaj To Get An Abortion

If there’s anything you can count on, it’s that Nicki Minaj’s most enthusiastic fans — aka the Barbz — will try to start beef with any and every other female rapper she gives them a reason to — even if she never actually names that artist. During a recent episode of her podcast, Queen Radio, Nicki alleged that an unnamed artist with whom she’d previously collaborated offered her a drink, and when she declined because she might be pregnant, told her she could “go to the clinic.”

Of course, the Barbz didn’t take this well, because, for many of them, innuendo is fact, shade is absolute, Nicki’s word is law, and every day is a new opportunity to pick a fight with Nicki’s contemporaries on her behalf. For some reason, one, in particular, decided that Nicki’s anecdote referred to Megan Thee Stallion, who did work with Nicki in 2019 on the song “Hot Girl Summer” and has been known to occasionally encourage her friends to take a shot directly out of the bottle. Megan, however, wasn’t having it.

“Nicki Minaj is accusing you of encouraging abortion & child endangerment w/ alcohol,” wrote the stan. “This isn’t something to stay quiet on.” Meg shot back with just one word: “LIE.” Unfortunately, this opened the door for more Barbz to lash out at Megan. “No names were mentioned but u were first to respond?” wrote one. “So this person didn’t mention me?” Meg replied. “THIS PERSON BE SO FCKN FOR REAL RIGHT NOW” responded another Barb. “This person … as in the person who pressed the @ button” Meg explained. “y’all not this crazy.”

That might be… optimistic on her part. Barbz have shown repeatedly and often, that they don’t need logic or reason to fly off the handle (sometimes, I think Nicki Minaj’s fan club is really just a hate club for everyone else). Meg has often blamed a lot of the friction that exists between female rappers on their fans, but if we’re being honest, there is one fan base behind most of it and they’re often proud of themselves for being this way.

Nicki Minaj Accuses An Unnamed Artist Of Suggesting That She Get An Abortion After She Refused To Drink

In the past few weeks, Nicki Minaj has seen a huge resurgence in prominence following a relatively quiet few years, thanks in part to the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards honoring her with a Video Vanguard Award. She’s also got a new single, “Super Freaky Girl,” out, along with an all-female remix featuring BIA, JT, Katie Got Bandz, and Maliibu Miitch. But as much attention as she has received for her music, she’s gotten even more for the drama being caused by her latest episode of Queen Radio.

In addition to apparently shading Latto for positing that there is more balance among women in rap, Nicki also spotlighted an artist that she worked with she says encouraged her to get an abortion. “Imagine telling someone you didn’t want a drink… you know, because you were, at the time, possibly pregnant, because you were actively trying to have a baby,” she said. “Imagine that person saying, ‘Oh girl, you can go to the clinic!’”

Naturally, fans were quick to speculate, with some latching onto Megan Thee Stallion as a possible target. The two women collaborated in 2019 on the song “Hot Girl Summer” and one of Meg’s signature moves at the time was encouraging friends to “drive the boat” — aka, let her pour a shot directly into their mouths. However, Meg was quick to shut down those accusations.

Nicki Minaj Might Have Dissed Latto During ‘Queen Radio’ After Latto Said That Female Rap Is Now Thriving

One thing that has become clear over the last few years is that when Nicki Minaj hosts her infamous Queen Radio show, someone will more than likely be dissed. The latest target appears to be Latto, as the “Super Freaky Girl” artist seemed to have some choice words that could be for her in the wake of her assertion that female rap is more balanced than it has ever been.

In a clip posted to Twitter on Friday (September 9), a fan screen recorded a 40-second snippet of Nicki Minaj’s recent radio show saying “A lot of other people come in one day, and the next day you’re trying to categorize yourself with people who have been f*cking working and putting their blood, sweat, and tears into this sh*t for 15 and 20 motherf*cking years. And then that album comes out and you can clearly see you haven’t built up a loyal fanbase yet who actually likes your f*cking music. And then what they start doing is they start digging the hole deeper for themselves.”

Though the Queen artist did not say a name, many believe this was pointed at the “Big Energy” rapper. In a follow-up tweet, the same fan shared a clip of Latto’s interview with Hollywood Unlocked from March where she says “Look how many female rappers is thriving right now, versus it being Nicki and everybody else.” Notably, her gesture when mentioning Nicki Minaj indicated she was above everyone else, and the subsequent gesture showed a more level playing field in reference to today’s female rap landscape.

While it appears Latto had no malice toward Minaj, it is not rare for the “Barbie Tingz” artist to take offense to statements that weren’t intended to be offensive. Latto has not made any comments in retort, but their fanbases have been going at it on Twitter ever since the initial clip dropped, with some referencing Nicki targeting Lil Kim in the early days of her career.

50 Cent Claims Lil Kim Dissed Nicki Minaj On Megan Thee Stallion’s ‘Plan B’ Remix, But Kim Says Otherwise

Yesterday, Funkmaster Flex debuted Megan Thee Stallion’s “Plan B” remix featuring Lil Kim, and while the song has yet to receive an official release, it’s already causing controversy. After the song premiered on Flex’s show, Instagram troll extraordinaire 50 Cent took the opportunity to goad Kimwith whom he’s had friction in previous years despite Kim giving him an early career boost via her La Bella Mafia hit “Magic Stick” — by stoking the Brooklyn rapper’s long-simmering feud with Nicki Minaj.

“@nickiminaj you better light her ass up I’m watching,” he wrote, accusing Kim of taking shots at Nicki on “Plan B.” “she said something about the baby.” Being who he is, he also couldn’t resist sneaking in his own snide jab. “her baby eye f*cked up.” The line in question opens the verse with a brutal string of uppercuts as she snaps, “N****, you’s a bitch, your father’s a bitch, your brother’s a bitch / Keep acting like this and your son gon’ be a bitch.”

Kim laughed off the accusation, though, commenting, “It’s ok he just doing what bitch n****z do. Now watch what God do to his life.” She then followed up with an explanation on her own Instagram Story, writing, “I never said a word about anyone’s child… please feel free to listen to the song where we were clearly talking about an EX. To try and twist my words to have an excuse to take digs at my child is disgusting. I’m one of the most disrespected legends in the game but what you will not do is come for MY CHILD.”

Then, she flipped 50’s reaction on him with a devastating judo move. “It’s so crazy how a song about bitch ass n****s could touch a bitch ass n****’s soul so deeply that he results to attacking a child,” she wondered. “Oh yeah it’s official to say… I’M THAT BITCH!!!! Okayyyyy 50 you got me! The song was about YOU!!!!” In other words, hit dogs holler.

50 has since deleted his Instagram post. Stay tuned for the official “Plan B” remix release.

Nicki Minaj Enlists Bia, JT, Katie Got Bandz, Akbar V, And Malibu Miitch For The ‘Super Freaky Girl (Queen Mix)’

Still riding the highs of her first solo Billboard Hot 100 No. 1, “Super Freaky Girl,” Nicki Minaj has unveiled the track’s hotly anticipated remix. Dubbed the “Queen Mix,” the updated version of the new track features rappers Bia, JT, Katie Got Bandz, Akbar V and Maliibu Miitch.

The original version of the track proved to be an instant classic for Minaj, and now, “Super Freaky Girl” continues to be a remarkable moment in hip-hop. On JT of City Girls’ verse, the Miami native confidently proclaims, “I’m the princess of this sh*t, and a motherf*cking gang member.”

Equally as powerful, Bia reminds her competition that she’s a force to be reckoned with, as she raps “I’m just the realest b*tch you see, when Nicki taking the pic.”

Chicago drill rapper Katie Got Bandz delivers some randy bars, saying, “He like ’em freaky / p*ssy squeaky / Give me that tongue / make it leaky.”

Just as raunchy is Akbar V’s verse, on which she calls for someone to “put that D all down my throat / no gag reflex, I ain’t ever gonna choke.”

Maliibu Miitch delivers the penultimate verse, promising, “I’ma put this p*ssy on him, have him sleeping like NyQuil.”

Last but not least, the closing verse goes to none other than Minaj’s alter ego, Roman, who reminds haters to “keep your two cents, this ain’t a meter.”

Last month, Minaj accepted the Video Vanguard Award at the MTV Video Music awards. During her speech, she thanked several artists who she credits for opening doors for her, including Lil Wayne, Mariah Carey, Foxy Brown, Lauryn Hill, Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Slick Rick and Doug E. Fresh. With this remix, she continues to open doors for an entire generation of young women rappers.
