Rob Gronkowski Wants Less Taylor Swift During NFL Broadcasts

Rob Gronkowski believes that the NFL is going too hard on their Taylor Swift coverage. “Bye bye bye, it’s just a little bit too much. We want more football,” the retired tight end said on Up & Adams Wednesday morning. Of course, Swift Fever has taken over the league ever since she started dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. However, the obsessive focus on Swift has garnered significant backlash from fans.

Furthermore, Gronk isn’t the only player who thinks the league is going too far. Travis Kelce himself called the league out a couple weeks ago. “I think it’s fun when they show who all is at the game. I think it brings a little bit more to the atmosphere, brings a little bit more to what you’re watching. But at the same time, I think they’re overdoing it a little bit for sure. Especially my situation.” With Swift watching the Chiefs beat the Jets in person, cuts to Swift were frequent. Some fans complained that Swift’s reaction was being prioritized over the action on the field. One notable example was when the broadcast cut away from an Isaiah Pacheco touchdown celebration to get Swift’s reaction.

Gronk Wants To Play Olympic Flag Football

Elsewhere, Gronk recently hinted at a very specific return to football. “Hopefully there’s no tryouts and they just accept me. But I’m in. I’m going for that if there is flag football in the Olympics in 2028. USA going all the way!” Gronk told TMZ. The tight end retired in 2022. Furthermore, he has said on multiple occasions that he’s done for good. This is despite unretiring once before.

Flag football was one of five sports approved by the IOC executive board this week. It will debut at the 2028 Olympics in LA. The other sports approved were cricket, lacrosse, squash, and baseball/softball. Despite the perception of American Football being, well, an American sport, it actually enjoys immensely popularity around the world. Furthermore, the inclusion of flag football, as opposed to full contact football, mitigates many of the safety concerns involved with the inclusion.

Anytime the super couple are seen with each other, you know it is going to be in the media headlines as soon as possible. Well, we are now here we are once again with another update. The Kansas City Chiefs played host to their in-division rival, the Los Angeles Chargers Sunday evening (October 22).

Since dropping their home opener on the first night of the 2023-2024 NFL season, the home squad picked up their sixth straight win. Taylor was there to witness the red-hot Chiefs’ 31-17 victory with Patrick Mahomes’ wife Brittany Mahomes and his brother Jackson. Similar to what happened after the first game Swift went to, she and Travis were seen walking out of the tunnel hand-in-hand according to Billboard. This is now the fourth time the Swifties got to enjoy a Sunday NFL broadcast.

On the other side of it, the Chiefs fans had plenty to be happy about after a big-time win at Arrowhead. Kansas City now has sole possession of the best record in the AFC at 6-1. The connection between Mahomes and Kelce was the reason they got by the Chargers with relative ease. The fourth annual National Tight Ends Day turned into Travis’ best game of the season. He hauled in 12 receptions for 179 yards and a touchdown catch. CBS put up a hilarious graphic of Kelce’s stats when Taylor shows up to a game and when she does not. Ironically, the star tight end averages 42.5 yards less a game when his girl is not in the stands.

Travis Kelce, George Kittle, and more starred in a video released by the NFL to celebrate “National Tight Ends Day”. The holiday, which celebrates the tight end position in the NFL, came about as a result of Niners TE George Kittle joking back in 2019 that the position deserved its own holiday. The video was a 90-second celebration of the position, accompanied by a custom-written wrap song.

The tight end, a hybrid of running back, wide receiver, and offensive lineman, is a position that has had an up-and-down history in the league. It’s often an underappreciated position, which often leads to only a small collection of standout players being remembered.

Kelce To Travel With Taylor Swift During Eras Tour

Away from becoming a rap star, a new report suggests that Travis Kelce will be jetsetting for a good part of the NFL offseason. According to Entertainment Tonight, Kelce will join girlfriend Taylor Swift on the international leg of her Eras Tour next year. “Travis and Taylor are all in… [They] are very serious about their careers, and the two bond over that and want to show support for each other whenever they can,” a source told the outlet. Furthermore, the source claims Kelce will travel with Swift to Brazil for her concerts from November 17-19. However, that feels unlikely given that Kelce has a marquee matchup against the Eagles on November 20.

However, it’s definitely fair to assume that his plans include a majority of next year’s tour dates. Swift kicks things off in Japan in February. Depending on how the Chiefs do this year, Kelce will be unlikely to attend as the Tokyo concerts coincide with the days in the run-up to the Super Bowl. However, the rest of the dates between late February and the start of Chiefs training camp in August should be wide open for Kelce to attend. That run of shows sees Swift tour both Asia and Europe.

The Cincinnati Bengals have been up and down to start the 2023-2024 NFL season. After an abysmal 1-3 record to open the year, Joe Burrow and the rest of the team are starting to find a little bit of rhythm as of late. They are winners of consecutive games, taking out the Arizona Cardinals and the Seattle Seahawks yesterday (October 16). One of the reasons why the AFC North title race is within arm’s reach for the Bengals is because of Ja’Marr Chase. Even though the wide receiver is a dependent position, the top-flight talent was also struggling. That was true, up until the Monday night game against the Los Angeles Rams.

Since that matchup, Ja’Marr Chase has been his normal dominant self. He has hauled in 40 receptions totaling 486 yards and three touchdowns. After the ugly 27-3 loss to the Tennessee Titans, he was extremely candid about his thoughts on the offense has been playing. According to Uproxx, he did believe that he was a part of the problem. Chase made it clear, “I’m open. I’m always f*****g open.”

He certainly has been making himself available for Burrow and they are now 3-3. After those comments a few weeks ago, Ja’Marr is now comparing himself to the gas station chain, 7-Eleven. They are usually always open and so is number 1 for the Bengals. He thought of this idea during his excellent game against Arizona in which he scored three times. Chase decided to live up to this new mantra with a 7-Eleven chain during the Seattle game. 7-Eleven took notice of this and now they are collaborating with merch, too. It includes a hat that contains part of the quote.

The biggest story through the first month of the NFL season has had nothing to do with the game. Instead, the relationship between Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has garnered a whole lot of attention, whether that’s been via television ratings, things the league has done in acknowledgement of the pair, or whatever else.

Kelce admitted on the most recent episode of his podcast that he thinks things have been a little over the top recently, saying that “I think they’re overdoing it a little bit for sure. Especially my situation.” While he was a little empathetic to the way the league has leaned in by saying that he thinks it’s generally in good fun, it’s not hard to see why Kelce might feel this way, especially considering the league updated its social media channels to highlight Swift.

In a statement on Wednesday, the NFL responded, essentially saying that acknowledging this sort of crossover between the league and someone from the world of pop culture is (pun absolutely not intended) nothing new. Via Deadline:

Last night (September 29), the rapper dropped a new song called “NFL,” which stands for “Never Fall In Luv.”

On “NFL,” Uzi keeps their heart on lock, coping with pain and doing their best to avoid future heartache.

“Big body, I feel no pain, I just spiked my soda like I’m in NFL / B*tch don’t call my phone, you heard I’m doin’ well / I don’t give two Fs, like a Fendi belt,” they rap on the song’s chorus.

The song’s accompanying visual features Uzi living the rockstar life, as he goes on shopping sprees, performs for fans, and runs through an emotional minefield, rife with trippy special CGI effects.

It’s likely that the song will appear on Uzi’s upcoming album, which is thought to be the third installment in their Luv Is Rage album series. Uzi teased Luv Is Rage 3 during their set at Listen Out Melbourne 2023 when asked about the album by a fan.

“You know I only drop Luv Is Rage when my heart is hurting,” they said. “It’s about that time. But you know, right now.”

The biggest story in sports and pop culture right now involves Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and his flirtation with Taylor Swift. Kelce has made clear that he is … let’s say a fan of the most famous person in the world right now, and there sure seems to be a lot of smoke around the two of them dating, most notably that Swift went to the Chiefs’ game against the Chicago Bears this week, sat with Kelce’s mom, celebrated when he scored, and left the game with him.

Kelce addressed the whole thing on the most recent episode of his podcast, but it appears that there is one person who thinks something smells funny here. That person is noted yeller Chris “Mad Dog” Russo, who took some time during his weekly First Take segment about stuff that made him mad to float his theory that all of this is about publicity.

“WHO TAKES THEIR GIRLFRIEND TWO MINUTES INTO A RELATIONSHIP TO VISIT MOMMY AND DADDY?!?!?!”

To be clear, he might have said someone other than Len Dawson and I just am once again not hearing him correctly, but really, that part is not important here. (Well, it is kinda important in that it’s crappy to pull the “I bet she has never heard of THIS athlete!” card.) (Also, Swift is a well-documented fan of the Philadelphia Eagles.) While Stephen A. Smith and Marcus Spears attempted to compose themselves, Molly Qerim prodded Russo a little bit.

“I can’t believe you’re mad about Travis and Taylor,” she said. “They found love.”

“FOUND LOVE?” Russo responded. “WHAT ARE YOU CRAZY? FOUND LOVE? ARE YOU NUTS? YOU CAN’T BELIEVE THAT. FOUND LOVE AFTER FIVE MINUTES? PLEASE. OH IT’S … FOUND LOVE? OH MY GOD, FOUND LOVE? YOU KNOW WHAT THEY FOUND? LET’S GET SOME PUBLICITY, THAT’S WHAT THEY FOUND.”

I am sure they talked about other things on First Take on Wednesday morning, but I am willing to wager that nothing else was this loud.
