ASAP Rocky & Big Sean Lead The Way On Our New “Fire Emoji” Playlist Update

This Friday was a big one for hip-hop releases, as fans got to hear new music from some of the genre’s best, which can all be found on our Fire Emoji playlist. ASAP Rocky gave fans a taste of what’s to come on his eagerly anticipated album Don’t Be Dumb, teaming up with Jessica Pratt for “HIGHJACK.” Fans are sure he took at least a couple of shots at Drake on the laid-back single, setting the tone for the remainder of the LP dropping on August 30.

Big Sean also gave listeners another peek at his upcoming project Better Me Than You with “On Up.” He goes deep on the tender track, leaning into themes of fatherhood, mortality, and purpose. NAV got introspective too, albeit in a much raunchier way, teaming up with Cash Cobain and Bay Swag for “6AM Thoughts.” He came through once again this week, this time slowing it down for his solo cut “Rexdale.”

ASAP Rocky, Big Sean, Killer Mike & More Deliver: Stream

Moving onto Polo G, he linked up with his fellow Chicago rapper Lil Durk for “We Uh Shoot,” delivering hard-hitting bars about clashing with opps. Mike WiLL Made-It brought about another stellar collaboration with “High3r,” enlisting the help of both Lil Wayne and Lil Yachty. Weezy’s verse in particular stole the show, reminding listeners that he’s still the GOAT. BigXthaPlug also hopped on country star Shaboozey’s “Drink Don’t Need No Mix,” making for an ideal blend of styles.

Finally, Killer Mike dropped off Michael & The Mighty Midnight Revival: Songs For Sinners & Saints, an epilogue to his Grammy-winning album, Michael. Amber Rose Throws Shade At Megan Thee Stallion For “Pandering To Black People” With Her Kamala Harris Support

Amber Rose has thrown some shade towards Megan Thee Stallion for performing at a recent rally for Kamala Harris. She discussed the move as well as the Vice President’s ongoing campaign during an interview with Adin Ross. Rose began by admitting that she likes Megan and described her as “a good person.”

However, she added: “I think that she’s pandering to Black people. I think that she thinks that that’s what Black people wanna see in order to vote for her. And I think it’s absolute bulls***.” She continued: “I think that people in general just wanna know the policies. All that, you know, the extra stuff, it’s cool, you know a concert and stuff like that, but what about the policies? How are you gonna ‘Make America Great Again?’ No pun intended!”

When The Shade Room shared the clip on Instagram, fans had mixed responses in the comments section. “A woman that has a tattoo on her forehead & that wore a damn necklace with a huge Donald Trump face on it can’t tell me nothing, bout no pandering,” one user wrote. Another argued: “She didn’t have Megan twerk. Megan performed and decided to twerk. Big Sean Gets Choked Up Reflecting On Nearly Giving Up On His Rap Aspirations: Watch

Big Sean’s “Out Of Context” interview with Charlamagne tha God has been making the rounds online thanks to a few viral soundbites from the Detroit artist. Out of all of the topics covered, his perspective on his rocky relationship with Kendrick Lamar and his exclusion in “Big Three” talks drew in a lot of ears. However, we feel that there is something that trumps all of that. At the 26:55 mark in their talk, Sean reflects with Charlamagne about the beginning stages of what has turned into be quite the successful career in music.

According to HipHopDX, he tears up remembering a point in which he was unsure about pursuing this dream of becoming a rapper. He starts off by going back to his high school days when he made a list that had the top five labels he would want to be on. “I had found this list before I rapped for Ye that I wrote down. I was lightweight into it, but I was just busy… [The] list said ‘G.O.O.D. Music, No.1. 2 Roc-A-Fella. No. 3 Shady Records. 4 Grand Hustle. No. 5 Interscope.’” Sean later added, “G.O.O.D. Music was number one, and I saw that, and I was on that path. It was one of them omens, it was just one little thing I needed to realize, ‘I can do this, bro. I met Ye and rapped for him. He said he wanted to sign me.’”

Big Sean’s Career Turned Out Just Fine In The End

However, that is when things took a turn for the worse. Sean mentioned that depression began to settle in, causing him to rethink. “I just manifested and visualized the paperwork coming in. In that time, bro, in that one year, I was so depressed that I just wanted to give up bad”. Because of this, he even began to consider community college, and his grandma was in agreement. However, things changed in his head once his mom convinced him to keep pushing. “I just remember my mom being like, ‘What are you doing?’ It was a moment, dawg”. That’s when Sean began to tear up and thank her for being a believer. “I’m just thankful I had these guardian angels in my life, like my mom, just coming in the form of anything”.

Suge Knight has already made some seriously shocking claims on his prison podcast, and his most recent involved Jennifer Lopez and Diddy’s alleged secret tapes. In a new episode of Collect Call, the former Death Row boss shared his theory on J-Lo’s rumored divorce from her husband of two years, Ben Affleck. According to him, it’s possible that the FBI confiscated tapes from Diddy during the raids of his mansions earlier this year, and that some of them included Lopez.

Obviously, this is unconfirmed. From there, however, he speculated that the FBI contacted Affleck about the tapes and caused a rift in his relationship with Lopez. “I’m quite sure they [FBI] probably called,” Knight said. “And the FBI gave respect and a courtesy call to Ben Affleck. It’s a white man who got respect in the white world. I’m quite sure they said, ‘We want to show you some things about your wife.’”

Ty Dolla $ign & Kanye West Announce “VULTURES 2” Listening Party In Utah

With the excitement mostly at its peak for VULTURES 2 at the time of writing, Ty Dolla $ign and Kanye West are announcing yet another listening party. The former of the tandem shared the news via his Instagram just about an hour ago and it marks the third one for the album. Ty revealed the first one back on July 6 for Korea, which is now 20 days away. Then, the multi-hyphenate made his followers know about their future visit to Taiwan on July 25. That will go down two days later on August 25. That leads us to today, as Ty and Ye will be hitting the road, and heading to Salt Lake City to give the fans a special one-night performance of VULTURES 2.

This will actually be the first of the three listening experiences, as it will be going down on August 9. However, Dolla $ign’s followers aren’t really reacting to this news. Instead, they are harping on one aspect of the album that a majority of the community is having an issue with. The mixing, for lack of a better word, is pretty bad. Some aren’t too surprised with the final product, but others are confused, especially given how many times VULTURES 2 has been pushed back.

This argument is highlighted by the fact that there are quite a few songs that have floating around the internet for a couple of years now. People are wondering how and why Ye and Ty decided to give everyone essentially demos and they are letting them hear about it in this comment section as well. “FIX THE MIXING IN THE ALBUM THE QUALITY ISNT THE BEST”, one IG user demands. Another adds, “Album is s***, the lyrics are terrible, and mixing is so bad that some songs play on one ear when using headphones, the wait was not worth it”. “Dude why is Husband on here twice”, someone else jokes. Supporters had been waiting on the project for months and were less hopeful than ever after the August 2 release date came and went. Luckily, they didn’t have to wait too much longer, and can now enjoy the project in full.

So far, the second installment of Vultures has received mixed reactions. While many are impressed, others are urging Ye to hurry up on his previously announced retirement. With that being said, listeners are still hard at work dissecting each and every track, including “My Soul.”

Kanye West Says “F*ck Adidas” On New Track “My Soul”

The song is the last on the album and features a jab at Adidas, which cut ties with Ye back in 2022 amid his infamous antisemitism scandal. “We mass targeted, mass marketed, mass incarceration
Mass in police stations, mass incorporated, f*ck Adidas,” he spits. While the remark certainly hit hard, listeners aren’t necessarily shocked, as this is far from the first time he put the company on blast.

Earlier this year, for example, he went after Adidas, Drake, and more in a fiery Instagram rant. “F*ck Adidas and everybody who works there or with them. Anyone who goes to school with anyone who’s parents work at Adidas. Just know they tried to destroy me and here we are with the number 1 song in the world,” he said at the time.
