Both of these albums have been heralded as some of the best of the entire year. Having said that, there is quite a debate being had about whether or not their tour has been a success. With the Drake beef ongoing, Drizzy fans have been trying to get viral “gotchas” on both artists, with screenshots of half-empty arenas.

However, it is clear that the tour is, in fact, a success. Overall, the best example we have of this went down last night as both artists were in Brooklyn. The arena appeared to be completely packed, which is certainly good news for both artists. Moreover, they brought out none other than Travis Scott, which had the crowd going absolutely wild. Donald Trump’s “Collab Track” With Kodak Black & Fivio Foreign Leads To Twitter Uproar

Sadly, we got to that point in the 2024 U.S. presidential election in which Donald Trump and Kamala Harris are taking over the aux. Moreover, fans expressed shock at the former’s new “collaborative single” with Fivio Foreign and Kodak Black, “ONBOA47RD.” The title refers to Trump’s current bid to be the 47th president of the United States, and the two rappers are more than happy to endorse him for it. Of course, this track resulted in a lot of backlash from fans online, whether they were Republican supporters, strong opposers, or just fans of Fivio or Kodak’s music. Their issues ranged from the politics on display to the corniness of the track, among other criticisms.

As far as the song itself goes, it’s a pretty standard Fivio Foreign and Kodak Black performance with some sharp bars here and there and presidential references. The beat is unremarkable, but you’re wondering about that Donald Trump appearance, aren’t you? It’s an opening vocal sample from his RNC speech this year, his first since the assassination attempt on his life. “I’m not supposed to be here tonight,” he told the crowd. “I’m here today to announce a brand-new plan to deliver more opportunity, more security, more fairness.”

Trump, Kodak Black & Fivio Foreign’s “ONBOA47RD”: Listen

As for what portion from this speech the track “ONBOA47RD” sampled, here’s Trump’s statement: “I will fight for you with every breath in my body and I will never ever let you down.” Therefore, this becomes the latest extreme example of hip-hop engaging with politics this year, which is usually not that combative or decisive of a conversation. Instead, it usually looks more like Meek Mill’s questions for Trump’s opposition, Kamala Harris. He wants to ask the Democratic candidate about her time as a D.A. and her policies on crime. Check out more reactions to “ONBOA47RD” down below.

Fans React

Meanwhile, it seems like Lil Pump will release a pro-Trump track of his own, adding to the convicted former president’s arsenal of rappers. Kamala Harris has plenty of supporting MCs as well, with Megan Thee Stallion and Quavo leading most of the way forward. We’ll see what else the hip-hop world has to say about this chaotic and absolutely turbulent election. Will you bump “ONBOA47RD” or is it the weirdest thing you’ve seen happen this week?

BeatKing’s Cause Of Death Revealed

BeatKing tragically passed away on Thursday (August 15) in a Houston hospital, and thanks to one of his representatives, we have more of an idea of what happened. According to TMZ, one of his reps said that he suffered a pulmonary embolism, or the blockage of a lung artery. The Houston rapper and producer was hosting a takeover on Urban One/Radio One, passed out, and then received care at a nearby hospital after folks rushed him there. Per the representative, he passed away later that day with his two daughters by his side. “It is truly sad, we loved him so much,” the rep added.

This individual paid further tribute to the memory and legacy of BeatKing. She said on Thursday night that her client was “”the best part of the club for over a decade. He has produced and worked with so many artists, that his sound will forever live. He loved his daughters @clubgodparenting, his music and his fans. We will [love] him forever.” The “Pop Music” artist received an outpouring of love, remembrance, honors, and well-wishes following his death, connected by the art he was so proud of making.

BeatKing Performing At Hot 107.9 Birthday Bash 25

BeatKing also recently hung out with Drake, who actually faced some recent backlash from Sauce Walka for allegedly not showing Houston artists enough love despite living in Texas now. Walka’s issues are that the 6ix God collaborates with Houston artists that are on a similar level to him (think Travis Scott, Beyoncé, Pimp C, etc.), but not the smaller artists that he could actually support and put on. Of course, his proximity to the likes of BeatKing is one of plenty of examples that could disprove this. But it’s also too complicated and broad of a question for one casual instance or hypothetical collaboration to explain.

Meanwhile, folks like Bun B and Boi-1da completely disagree with Sauce Walka’s claims about Drake. They, along with the rest of hip-hop, have more pressing Houston matters to get to now. The city and beyond will remember BeatKing for his passion, energy, and commitment to the scene. As we continue to honor his memory throughout 2024 and into the rest of hip-hop history, we wish his loved ones the best on their journey.
Rest In Peace BeatKing.

Snoop Dogg Unveils His Massive Olympics Earnings

Snoop Dogg’s been a big highlight at the 2024 Paris Olympics, serving as a special correspondent for NBC and adding a nice air of familiarity and fun to every screen and event he graced with his presence. Moreover, a lot of people have wondered how much he earned as a result of this partnership, with some speculating that he received $500,000 a day for his participation. But while Tha Doggfather never outright confirmed these rumors, he did recently repost a video that kind of corroborates it. On Thursday (August 15), Snoop shared a clip that pretty much sums up his time at the Olympics and its benefits.

“This is the main star of the Paris Olympics…” the clip below states. “[Snoop Dogg] also lives and parties in Paris for free, all to bring more attention to the Olympics. Almost every top broadcast features Snoop. He attends all major Olympic events. For 17 Olympic days, he’ll earn nearly $9 million. However, these expenses are not in vain. Thanks to Snoop, Olympic viewership rose by 79%.” This massive increase refers to the 34 million people that tuned into the Games’ first five days this year. This was a 79% rise in viewership compared to the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, according to an NBC Sports release.

Snoop Dogg Hints At His Olympics Earnings

Of course, there are many reasons as to why people watched these Olympics more than the last. But even NBC attributes at least a big part of that ratings boost to Snoop Dogg’s presence. Not only that, but it’s natural and expected considering that he participated in so many important moments during the Games. One of the most exciting was when the Long Beach MC joined Dr. Dre for the handover ceremony, kicking off excitement for the 2028 Olympics in their home city of Los Angeles.

“Really, Snoop, he’s the superstar,” Dre remarked about Snoop Dogg. “I’m the co-star when we get on stage. It’s different when we’re in the studio, you know? I’m the captain when we’re in the studio, but when we go outside, Snoop is the guy.” Let’s see what their new album Missionary will sound like, and what else we learn about Snoop at the Olympics.
