Mary J Blige Responds To Flavor Flav Comparing Her To Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift continues to be on top of the world. Overnight she released her new album The Tortured Poets Department. After weeks of teasing, the record leaked a few days in advance of its release but she had a pretty great response. Just two hours after dropping the album, she revealed that it was actually a double album and unleashed an entire second half of the project with 15 more songs. Amid a sea of Taylor discussion, Mary J Blige reacted to being compared to the biggest star in music.

The comparison came from Flavor Flav, who revealed himself to be one of the most surprising Swifties out there. He stopped by a show on her eras tour last year and then spoke about the pop star during a radio interview earlier this year. Now Blige is reacting to the comparison during a recent interview with People. “I mean, I love Taylor Swift. She sings about what’s going on in her life. It’s kind of similar because she definitely gives you a piece of a relationship in a minute and whatever she may be dealing with. And that’s just her therapy. Mary J Blige Loves Taylor Swift Comparison

Blige continued discussing the comparison between her and Swift. “It’s definitely kind of the same thing. I use my music as my therapy and a way to escape, or a way to express myself and just say how I’m feeling. What else are we going to do?” she concluded.

Last year, Mary J Blige shut down rumors that she was going to do a “Verzuz” in hilarious fashion. “I could put the What’s The 411 album on and just walk away,” she said when asked about it. As such, it’s not really surprising that he hasn’t dropped a response track to the OVO mogul yet… but there’s certainly a lot of pressure on him from the hip-hop world who knows that he basically started this. Whether the Compton lyricist will refrain from responding due to a change of heart, belief in his original “Like That” verse, not feeling like “Push Ups” was adequate (or even weak) enough to respond to is a question only for Father Time.

But many, like Charlamagne Tha God, want an answer expeditiously… and the conversation below is a really weird one that we’ll try to keep focused on the Kendrick Lamar stuff in our transcription. “Where Dot at?” he told Andrew Schulz during a recent sit-down. “First of all, I’m the OG Drake hater. She has brought an elevated level of popularity to women’s basketball this past collegiate season. Ice Cube had previously offered Clark a contract for his three-on-three basketball league, The Big 3. The deal Cube offered was apparently worth around $5 Million dollars. Many fans thought Clark should jump on the deal, seeing that it was only for a handful of games to earn millions.

When Caitlin Clark’s WNBA salary was revealed on social media, many new fans were shocked. They didn’t know the WNBA pay standards, and it caused quite a stir. Many looked at the deal from Ice Cube that Clark did not accept and thought it was interesting. Ice Cube’s offer to Caitlin Clark looks pretty good now that we know her starting salary in the WNBA. The deal was worth up to $5 million and would allow Clark to still play in the WNBA. Additionally, she would be able to profit from merchandising as a form of additional compensation. Ice Cube said of signing Clark when news of the offer came out, “Why wouldn’t we? Caitlin is a generational athlete who can achieve tremendous success in the BIG3.”

Caitlin Clark will likely be okay. She has a lucrative deal with State Farm, among other endorsements. Clark has also recently signed a massive deal with Nike worth over $10 million, which includes a signature shoe line. Clark is fine and is going to work hard to grow the women’s game even more. Ice Cube was very smart in trying to snatch up Clark for The Big 3. It was a good business move, so you can’t blame him for trying.

Taylor Swift Album Panned By Internet Critics Due To Cringy Lyrics And Boring Production

Taylor Swift is someone who releases albums extremely frequently. It feels as though every single year, she has a new release. Unfortunately, this isn’t exactly conducive to the best work. Sure, she gets every Grammy in the book, but it seems like folks outside of her fanbase are sick of the mediocrity. Today, the songstress delivered The Tortured Poets Department, an album title that will have your eyes permanently rolled into the back of your head. The type of title that you would expect from a 14-year-olds Tumblr page.

Well, as you can see from the Billboard report below, this project broke a major Spotify record in less than 12 hours. It just goes to show that regardless of the actual music, Swift still has the juice with her fans. So far, many of the “Swifties” are loving the album. As for your average Joe, they find it to be incredibly juvenile, cringeworthy, and at times, downright boring.

Taylor Swift Still Breaks Records

These feelings were made clear in the tweets below, which only scratched the surface of how people feel. Screenshots of her lyrics are hitting the internet in droves, and it seems like Matty Healy and Joe Alwyn are getting things the worst. As far as Travis Kelce is concerned, he may have to wait a few album cycles before he gets mentioned in any real identifiable ways. Whether or not Taylor Swift will change things up in the future, remains to be seen. For now, however, its looking like this could wind up being one of her worst showings.

However, it seems like this negative energy kind of got the better of fans, and they’re now looking for more conflict wherever they can. Moreover, fellow producer ATL Jacob recently addressed claims from fans who thought that he dissed Metro on his latest beat. “F**K NO we ain’t doing that,” he responded to a fan who wanted to feed into this theory, and fans quickly followed with amused theories as to how someone could arrive at that conclusion in the first place.

Well, let’s break down why: the beat in question is for Nicki Minaj’s new “FTCU (Sleeze Mix)” featuring Travis Scott, Sexyy Red, and Chris Brown. We know Nicki and Sexyy are pretty firmly on Drake’s side, but La Flame and Breezy were both featured on Metro Boomin and Future’s album series this year, although they haven’t really picked a side on the matter. What people think ATL Jacob did was that he cut up a clip saying “F**k Metro Boomin” with his scratches on the song. Either that, or the tweet below suggests that the DJ scratching is a “diss” to what the St. Louis producer did on the title track of WE DON’T TRUST YOU… which is odd considering that this is literally one of the oldest techniques in hip-hop history, so why attribute it to one artist?

ATL Jacob Denies Dissing Metro Boomin

So it turns out that there are a few links to make here… but all of them add up to a pretty meager, random, and far-reaching case as to why ATL Jacob could’ve dissed Metro Boomin. Of course, the memes about Metro dissing Drake through some drums have been pretty funny, but we never thought that people would actually think that’s how a producer show-down would go. Elsewhere this year, though, Jacob got himself into some other conflictive situations with artists. One example is his dispute with Tems over the creation of Future and Drizzy’s “WAIT FOR U,” which samples one of her songs.
