Jozzy Drops New EP “Songs for Women, Free Game for N****s”

It’s pretty much impossible to find an up-and-coming artist with more co-signs than Jozzy. Though her solo catalog is not expansive, the Memphis R&B artist has worked with and rubbed elbows with some of the best musicians ever. In May 2022, she signed a record deal with Diddy’s Love Records. Since then, she has earned songwriting credits on some of the biggest album releases in music. These include “Virgo’s Groove” from Beyoncé’s latest LP RENAISSANCE, John Legend’s “On Time” from Metro Boomin’s Heroes & Villains, and “Low” from SZA’s S.O.S.

Before signing her deal, however, Jozzy still collaborated with many R&B, pop, and rap stars for huge hits. She has songwriting credits on Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” remix with Billy Ray Cyrus. Additionally, she helped out with Internet Money’s smash hit “Lemonade” including Don Toliver and Gunna. Also included on her resume are songwriting credits for Summer Walker, 21 Savage, Diplo, Fergie, Coldplay, Lil Durk and many more. Her name already carried a lot of weight before she even got her feet under her as a solo artist. This is likely why Diddy refers to her as the “R&B Biggie.”

Jozzy’s First Release In Years

On Feb. 21, Diddy and Love Records announced the impending release of Jozzy’s new EP. Songs for Women, Free Game for N****s, unlike most EPs, would include 10 songs. Ahead of its release, Diddy released a statement speaking about the significance of this moment for Jozzy. “Jozzy is a very special and dynamic talent that only comes around once in a generation, so I’m excited to see how her music sets a new standard for R&B,” he said. “Her skills as a writer and performer, matched with her style and energy, [have] the potential to make her one of the greats, and I’m proud to play a part in shaping the next chapter of her career.”

Songs for Women, Free Game for N****s was finally released later in the week on Feb. 24. Spanning 30 minutes, the project is Jozzy’s first release since 2020. Her prior EP Soul Therapy: PT 215 was much more of a traditional, lasting for 5 songs and 15 minutes. Additionally, she dropped her first single on digitial streaming platforms with “Sucka Free” featuring Lil Wayne in 2019. But, none of these moments compare to the magnitude of Songs for Women, Free Game for N****s. With Diddy behind her and her bolstered resume vouching for her, Jozzy is surely here to stay. Asian Doll Doubles Down With “Let’s Do a Drill 2” Album

Asian Doll has been on a tear recently. Aged 26, the self-proclaimed “Queen of Drill” is coming off an eventful year in 2022. In July, she dropped her full-length album Let’s Do a Drill. The album was loaded with exciting features and undeniable bangers. Verses from Tay Money, Bandmanrill, Dougie B and more all meshed well with Asian’s ferocious sound. In less than a year, the project already has five songs that have eclipsed 100,000 streams on Spotify. In fact, her most popular track “No Exposing” is well on its way to 1 million plays with over 860,000.

However, with this success came a bit of turbulence. A few months later in November, Asian was arrested and denied bond. The reasons for her detainment have still not been disclosed. At the time, she was sentenced to 45 days in jail. But, she was released nearly a week later and got back to work. During that time, she put out her final solo single of the year titled “Come Outside.” Needless to say, Asian had tons of momentum heading into the new year.

Asian Doll Spins The Block

In the first month of 2023, Asian Doll got right to it. On Jan. 25, the Dallas, TX native announced her upcoming album Let’s Do a Drill 2. Dubbing it the “solo edition,” Doll was set to turn her stellar 2022 LP into an album series. Without any features, Let’s Do a Drill 2 came out on Feb. 24. The album contains 12 songs and spans only 30 minutes. Additionally, the LP includes its sole pre-released single “Come Outside.”

A few months ago, producer Hitmaka voiced his qualms about “pussy rap” via Twitter. “P*ssy rap was cool when it had shock value & was rare. Now it’s like every girl taking it there,” he said. Asian Doll did not take kindly to this, and responded with vigor. “I fell like why do n****s always worried bout what female rappers rap about?” she questioned. “N****s been rapping bout the same thing since rap was invented.. ladies rap for the ladies not for you n****s.”

So, with this new album, it’s clear who Asian’s target audience is: the ladies. But, all fans of drill should surely expect great things from Asian. With confident flows and innovative songwriting, Let’s Do a Drill 2 will surely impress just as much as the first rendition. Stream Asian Doll’s new album on Spotify or Apple Music below.

Fans became even hungrier for it naturally.

But, all these loyal followers of Pi’erre could do is replay the clip of his Instagram Live session. At first you wouldn’t take me home, was you embarrassed of me?
Your parents said we wouldn’t last, they were scared to love me
But if they only knew my past, they’d be scared-er of me
And all these other bitches mad ’cause they know you got me
And I know you love it, you know they love me

Pop rap artist 24kGoldn reveals his moody side in his recent drop, “Bite.” The 22-year-old has gone viral for his previous upbeat bangers, including Tik Tok sensation “Mood.” With “Bite,” the hit-maker has slowed down his flow and introduced a new sensual persona into his lyricism. Throughout the track, 24kGoldn portrays a dark romance, frequently alluding to a “vampire” lover with “bloody-colored kisses.”

When 24kGoldn announced the arrival of “Bite” on his socials today (February 24th), he noted, “really proud of this song and excited to introduce u to the next chapter of my artistry and the 1st of my monthly drops this year.” Although this release is the first of the singer’s one-drop-a-month challenge, he did close off last year with quite a few tracks, including “In My Head” with Travis Barker and “Checkers” featuring Bandmanrill. Combining gritty and sultry into one, 24kGoldn has showcased a new side to his artistry. A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie Taps Mariah The Scientist For “Secrets” Remix

New music is coming in hot on this good Friday. The latest release comes from Highbridge’s own A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, who teams up with Mariah The Scientist for the remix to his throwback “Secrets.” The track comes to the surprise of some, seeing he’s released not one, but two projects since the original was featured on 2020’s Artist 2.0’s deluxe version. Not for TikTok users, however, as they are responsible for it’s resurgence. According to stats on the ever-popular clock app, the song has been used over 24,000 times as of writing.

The Bronx rapper has even gone on to upload a live performance of the track a couple of days ago. One commenter wrote “So glad that this song is finally getting the love it deserves. Nonetheless, it’s safe to say the new version does not disappoint. On the “Secrets” remix, A Boogie recites the same verse chorus as its predecessor, boasting about his success and the groupies that come with it. The first track didn’t have a second verse, which is where Mariah The Scientist comes in. Young Thug’s rumored boo slides in after the second chorus with some salacious bars of her own.

TikTok Users May Be To Thank For The A Boogie With The Hoodie Remix

The “Bout Mine” vocalist makes the rules clear to her fling on the “Secrets” remake. She implies she’s ready to get down and dirty, but he must keep his mouth closed. Mariah The Scientist sings “Meet me in the back, take me through the alley / Know you want a bad girl, know you want a savage / Know that I can be that, you can’t believe that /You could be a blind man, even you could see that.” Some A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie fans aren’t fond of the R&B singer’s addition, but she seems to be taking it with grace. Mariah The Scientist—who is no stranger to backlash—has shown support for the song throughout the day on her Instagram Stories.

Quotable Lyrics

Baby, from my observations
You think I’m your lady, all of those expectations
But that just ain’t the way it goes
And I just want you out them clothes tonight
I promise to take it slow
You can even take control this time
If you can keep your mouth closed

Conway The Machine Joins Juicy J And Sauce Walka For “Super Bowl”: Listen

The Super Bowl may have already occurred, but Conway The Machine relives the unmatched energy of the event in his new song “Super Bowl.” Featuring Juicy J and Sauce Walka, this track lusts after the life of big ballers while recounting the highs felt after winning a nationally-acclaimed tournament. All three rappers bring an unapologetic grit to the track that results in an upbeat anthem.

Conway, who recently announced his upcoming third studio album Won’t He Do It, is known for placing his soulful bars over soothing beats. His 2022 project God Don’t Make Mistakes deep dived into the 41-year-old’s outstanding capabilities as a lyricist, and featured T.I., Rick Ross, and Benny The Butcher. The release of “Super Bowl” also follows the rapper’s news of a confirmed docuseries created by his label, Drumwork, marking another exciting step in Conway’s career.

Conway Drops “Super Bowl” Ahead Of Upcoming Album

While “Super Bowl” may differ from Conway’s previous projects by its overtly upbeat nature, the track serves as a celebration of wins for the New York rapper. In the chorus, he describes “feelin’ like I won the AFC.” Both Juicy and Sauce allude to the same winning mentality in their verses, reflecting on the successes of their individual careers. In November, the “Bandz Make Her Dance” rapper dropped Crypto Business, a collaborative album with Lex Luger and Trap-A-Holics. Sauce, despite alleged affiliation with the ongoing RICO case, ended the year with three mixtapes: Al Rage Walka, Sauce Beach Florida, and Sauce Ghetto Gospel 3.

In all, “Super Bowl” marks a collaborative effort to depict the incomparable highs of success and big wins. The track is currently available to stream on all platforms, so be sure to check it out and let us know what you think in the comments down below. Like always, be sure to keep in touch with HNHH for the latest news on all things hip-hop.

Logic Drops “Lightsabers” Ahead Of “College Park” Release

Earlier this month, Logic dropped the track list for his upcoming eighth studio album College Park. The album will include features from stars like Joey Bada$$, RZA, Redman, and more, Additionally, three of the songs will include guest verses from a rapper named C Dot Castro. For most of his die-hard fans, C Dot is a well-known fixture in Logic’s music. Dating back to “Disgusting” in 2012 and “Ballin” in 2013, C Dot has been alongside Logic for his entire career. So, it was no surprise to see him and the Maryland MC reunite for College Park.

Ahead of the project, the 33-year-old put out the LP’s fourth promotional single with C Dot Castro titled “Lightsabers.” “Lightsabers” follows up a slew of excellent pre-released tracks like “Wake Up,” “High Life” and “Paradise II.” Additionally, “Lightsabers” will likely be the final single Logic puts out before releasing the full album. College Park is slated to release later in the week on Friday (Feb. 24)

Logic And C Dot Castro Collide

“Lightsabers” is produced by not only Logic, but his career-long right-hand man 6ix. 6ix has practically executively produced all of his collaborator’s studio albums. So, it comes as no surprise that he offers an excellent, two-part instrumental on “Lightsabers.” The first portion of the track consists of solely Logic, rapping about the ups and downs of every day life. Over the synthy, bass-infused trap beat, his up-tempo flow is captivating.

After a drawn-out beat switch, Logic is met with a new piano-infused instrumental. However, not much changes in terms of approach for the veteran rhymer. Utilizing his slick-tongued bars, his final verse on the song transitions into an elite display from C Dot Castro. Finishing the song, Castro spits about his determination for a better life and the trials and tribulations he has fought through. Yet again, this storied duo has provided their fans with another excellent display of songwriting and execution. Stream Logic & C Dot Castro’s “Lightsabers” single on Spotify or Apple Music below. Additionally, tune into Logic’s new album College Park this Friday, February 24.

Quotable Lyrics:

Me and my neighbors, we shinin’ like lightsabers
Ain’t handin’ out no favors, we lucky to be alive
Smoke somethin’ to this and vibe
I hope you don’t give up your dreams for a nine-to-five
