Charleston White Captures The Internet’s Attention By Acting Like Himself In New Movie

As many of you know, Charleston White is usually popping up on people’s social media feeds but not for the best reasons at times. Throughout his multi-media career, he’s been hyper critical of rappers and other online personalities. Sometimes, he takes things too far and it almost always gets him in hot water. However, despite his flaws, there are a lot of folks out there who find him quite comedic. That two-faced personality is why many still keep tabs on him to an extent because of his explosive behavior. This time, we are sharing a highlight of his, as Charleston White has the internet yucking it up over a new movie role he scored.

Yes, if you weren’t familiar, he’s been in a couple of projects since 2023, according to his IMDb page. They are pretty obscure projects and the roles are minor. But it seems he’s trying to pick up a new skill which is highly commendable. This film looks to have some more backing than others, as according to eventbrite, it had a premiere over the weekend.

It took place on Saturday, November 16 at the Angelika Film Center & Café in Dallas, Texas. The title of the movie is Wrong Address and it was released by A Bigger Picture. It also stars Nykol Harris, Alex Stein, and Jayceon Marshall. There isn’t much on the plot of it, but based on the short clip above, it looks to be some sort of crime/dramedy of sorts. Speaking of that clip, it’s garnering people’s attention on social media for how Charleston White portrays his character.

That is to say it’s basically himself and to no one’s surprise, he kills it. He’s being interrogated by the police and he’s shouting profanities and acting out, which is how he normally is on the internet. People seem to be loving it, with one X (Twitter) user writing, “ I need to check this out.” Another jokes, “He could play a big role in the next Friday movie” According to his Instagram, there looks to have been another private showing on November 17 in Mississippi, but information on where to watch is unavailable.

Frank Ocean To Write New Movie & Direct It For A24

Frank Ocean is taking his talents to film while fans patiently wait for new music. According to a Discussing Films exclusive, the 37-year-old award-winning singer will write and direct his debut feature film with popular studio A24. The rumored film is untitled, and information about it is vague, but it is reported that Waves actress Taylor Russell is in talks to star in it. A24 is known for its trendsetting films, like Talk to Me (2023), Uncut Gems (2019), and Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022).

Fans can review Frank Ocean’s film experience with his 2016 effort Endless, which he wrote and directed himself. The visual album was Ocean’s second album and final with Def Jam Recordings. The directing debut will expand on Ocean and A24’s relationship after he wrote a screenplay book for the 2016 film Moonlight, which won “Best Picture” at the Oscars. Frank also wrote two songs for the studio’s Waves in “Godspeed” and “Seigfried.”

Ocean is the latest OFWGKTA alum to join the film industry and the second to partner with A24, following last month’s announcement that Tyler, The Creator, will make his film debut with the studio in 2025. Tyler is set to star alongside Timothee Chalamet (Dune) in the upcoming film Marty Supreme. Many believe Tyler spoke the role into existence, referencing Timothee on the 2018 track “OKRA.” There is no word if Tyler will appear in Ocean’s potential feature film, but both are aligned with A24. Lionel Boyce, known as Odd Future’s L-Boy, stars in the award-winning television series The Bear. New Frank Ocean music has been hinted at throughout 2024 by the artist’s collaborators.

Ocean’s mother mentioned new music in October while celebrating his birthday. She mentioned Ocean working hard in an Instagram photo, captioned: “It’s your birthday! And you are working hard as usual but I’m gonna drag you out for cake one way or another!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY GORGEOUS SONshine.” Before the film news, fans questioned if Frank Ocean appeared on his friend Tyler, The Creator’s new album, CHROMAKOPIA. Case in point, Ice Spice was recently interviewed by radio legend Big Boy. During this interview, the artist revealed that she is branching out into the acting world. In fact, she is going to be in a new movie with the legendary Denzel Washington. The artist appears to be extremely excited about this new project, and it is easy to see why. Moreover, she attempted to describe Washington’s aura, noting that he has a “very powerful vibe.”

Kodak Black Drops Chilling Trailer For His First Film As Executive Producer

Kodak Black has certainly kept busy in recent months, and now, he can add yet another exciting endeavor to his long list of feats. Earlier this week, the Florida-born rapper took to Instagram to share a trailer for the upcoming film Gone Missin, which he executive produced. The supernatural horror flick is directed by Vincent Escobar for KTB Media and does not yet have an official release date. It centers around a woman who visits a small town in search of a missing person. Of course, she ends up discovering far more than she bargained for.

While this is the first time Kodak’s worked as an executive producer on a film, it’s not the only time he’s dabbled in the world of cinema. Last year, he appeared in The Don, a short film in which he plays a crime boss. It coincided with the release of his album Pistolz & Pearlz, which was unveiled on the same day. Movies aren’t the only thing keeping Kodak occupied these days either. He’s also been on a recovery journey as of late, embracing his new mostly sober self and looking back on how far he’s come.

During an Instagram Live last month, for example, he revealed that he’s taken some steps in the right direction and can now go several days without using any substances. Donald Glover, a.k.a. Childish Gambino, unveiled the first trailer for his highly anticipated new movie, Bando Stone & The New World Order. Debuting ahead of A Quiet Place: Day One screening on June 27th, Glover announced its premiere hours before on Instagram. Still, there’s very little known about the upcoming project, which will include an accompanying soundtrack under his moniker Childish Gambino. The Trailer Premiere

The two-minute trailer premiered exclusively in IMAX theaters on Thursday night after Donald Glover, in his Instagram post earlier that day, teased the trailer drop. The brief clip shows Glover’s character, Bando Stone, joining forces with other survivors in a perilous journey through a world filled with giant, blood-thirsty creatures and electromagnetic traps. The trailer, not yet officially released online, has snippets captured by fans circulating on social media, adding to the anticipation.

However, the trailer’s debut didn’t mean that Donald Glover and his team chose to share it online. So far, only the few fans who watched the movie in theaters caught a glimpse of the preview. Nonetheless, fan-captured footage surfaced online this morning, per HipHopDX, which you could view above.

Bando Stone & The New World is produced by RCA Records and Gilga, Glover’s creative hub. The film stars Jessica Allain, known for her roles in horror thrillers like Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Fear. Late last year, Jonathan Majors was found guilty of assaulting and harassing his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. Regardless, the actor doesn’t look to be letting his conviction get in the way of his career. Recently, it was revealed that he’ll be starring in an upcoming supernatural thriller film, which will be his first role following his highly publicized trial.

Reportedly, he’s been cast as a CIA investigator who begins to struggle with mental health issues as his love interest is targeted by mysterious forces. The film, titled Merciless, does not yet have an official release date. It’s not been attached to a major studio yet either. It’s being directed by Martin Villeneuve, however, the younger sibling of Oscar-nominated director Denis Villeneuve.

Sound of Freedom‘s Christopher Tuffin will produce the upcoming indie film. He reportedly plans to share more details of the project at the Toronto International Film Festival later this year. Filming is expected to begin this fall, so it’s not looking like it’ll arrive anytime soon. Other cast members have also yet to be announced. Majors’ conviction is likely to stir up some controversy at the heels of his conviction, though it doesn’t appear as though Tuffin will let that stop him from working with whoever he sees fit for the role.

As for Majors’ current legal issues, he’s now facing a lawsuit from Jabbari, the same ex he was on trial for allegedly assaulting. SZA & Keke Palmer To Star In Issa Rae-Produced Buddy Comedy Film

It goes without saying that it’s been a busy few months for SZA. Aside from winning four Grammys earlier this year, the songstress is currently in the process of readying the deluxe edition of her 2022 album SOS, Lana. Fans are as anxious as ever to hear what she has to offer on the upcoming project, though an official release date has yet to be confirmed.

Now, it’s been announced that she’ll be making her acting debut in a buddy comedy film for TriStar Pictures alongside Keke Palmer. Few details have been revealed about the upcoming endeavor at the time of writing. Supporters do know, however, that the screenplay was written by Rap Sh!t showrunner Syreeta Singleton and Lawrence Lamont will direct. Issa Rae, Sara Diya Rastogi, Charles D. King, James Lopez, and Poppy Hanks are producing. Singleton is acting as a co-producer while Palmer and her mother Sharon are executive producing.

Kendrick Lamar Teaming Up With South Park Creators For New Musical

Just a few weeks after starting the beef that became the biggest rap story of 2024 so far, Kendrick Lamar has shared some entirely separate news. That came in the form of a reveal that he’s working on a new musical comedy film. The rapper is collaborating with Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the creators of South Park for the film. Though it’s still pretty early in development fans are already getting excited after hearing the premise for the upcoming film.

“The film follows a young Black man interning as a slave reenactor at a living history museum who discovers that his white girlfriend’s ancestors once owned his” information shared about the film reads. Kendrick Lamar is still currently sitting atop the Hot 100. He appears on the Future & Metro Boomin song “Like That” where he takes shots at both Drake and J. Cole in his verse. The song immediately soared to number one on the Hot 100 where its spent two weeks. It’s even challenging for a third week on the top spot after holding off Beyonce’s “TEXAS HOLD EM.” The track became Kendrick’s first ever to spent multiple weeks atop the Hot 100.

Sometimes, it can be as simple as your choice of outfit to go see a particular flick, and his drip for the Bob Marley: One Love biopic was certainly on-brand. Moreover, the Baton Rouge MC donned a Rastafarian hat and a dreadlock wig, in addition to a yellow sweatshirt and shoes, when he went to see the film with his daughter on Wednesday (February 14).

Furthermore, this was the same day that the Kingsley Ben-Adir-starring movie released, and this take on the iconic reggae legend has mixed reviews so far. While Boosie still hasn’t dropped his review and his take on the whole thing, maybe his infamy surrounding his takedown of The Color Purple will sadly deter him from speaking his mind on this new flick. He even claimed that folks bullied him over these bigoted takes, and while we can’t say folks are wrong to do so, it’s just discussion at the end of the day. Maybe the 41-year-old wants to turn a new leaf.

After all, Boosie recently and shockingly argued that he’s not homophobic, which might sound odd considering some of his previous comments. “I just never agreed [with] what they was pushing on the younger generation, and I spoke on that,” he told Cam Newton. “And I spoke about a couple more situations that made a lot of people turn on me: the Dwyane Wade situation. But I have gays in my family. How can I hate a gay person? My assistant, who brings in millions of dollars to me, is gay. And I just got— I want that to get off my status. I’m not like that.”
