Kodak Black Has His “Trill Bill” Fan-Favorite With “News Matt”

Kodak Black’s new mixtape Trill Bill hit streaming platforms over the weekend, and frankly, it’s been a nice surprise. For us, the hitmaker can be hit or miss sometimes, with not all of his records being the most consistent. However, in keeping this project to just 11 tracks, there was very little margin for error. After listening to it a few times over the last couple of days, we can say that Kodak took his time with this one.

Tracks like the opener, “Cherish The Moment,” the risk that is “Dirty Revolver,” and “Burn It Up,” are ones that we have taken a liking to. Now, we are adding the second cut “News Matt” to that growing list. It hears Kodak addressing his haters and people that have turned their backs on him. It’s empowering, real, and relatable, which is why it’s become the fan favorite so far. At the time of writing, the music video for “News Matt” has over 506,000 views on YouTube. That equates to it being number 18 on trending for music on the platform. See what all the hype is about with the link below.

“News Matt” – Kodak Black

Quotable Lyrics:

Hey, homie insecure, gotta treat me like a jit to feel like a man
Damn, I’m f***ed up in the head
I was chasing after friends, I damn near ran through all the bread
I forgave you a little bit, but I can’t forget all the s*** you said
It made me think, “What else you gotta say that you ain’t sayin’?”
Like anything I ask you, acting deaf like you want me to beg

Kodak Black Challenges Himself On “Trill Bill Standout “Dirty Revolver”

A special shout out goes to AnotherWav, one of the producers on Kodak Black’s new mixtape, Trill Bill. The beat he gives the Pompano Beach, Florida rapper is quite unique. That’s thanks to the piano melodies, sometimes static qualities, and woozy sound effects. But to be honest, Kodak Black makes it seem like light work, as he manages to find a pocket just seconds into the two-minute track. On top of his flows, there are some straight up comedic and sticky sets of lines. You can tell he was having putting this one together and just letting the instrumental take him wherever he felt was right.

The womb, I’m a motherf***in’ goon / Hey, pop that boy balloon, pew and zoom / Fredo in the dune, you beef with me, your doom / Flippa finna be zoom, he comin’ home in June / Thuggin’ every June, ain’t no lovey-dovey do.” These are just a few of the memorable portions, with one another being below, too. However, this is just one of many surprising and fun moments on Kodak’s new record. The first leg of the 11-song tape is especially strong with tracks like the opener, “Cherish The Moment,” the subsequent “News Matt,” among others. If you haven’t been a fan of his lately, or just in general, we think you should still give Trill Bill a try.

“Dirty Revolver” – Kodak Black

Quotable Lyrics:

And if health really wealth, motherf***er, I’m healthy
N****, Dr. Sebi, Sebi
Yeah, little mix b**** with the hazel eyes
I’m like, “Can I get your number?” Her friends said, “Can he?”
She said, “You Haitian and a Gemini, boy
I already know you trouble, but LOL, text me”

Yung Kayo Presents Some “Holy Grails” On His Latest Mixtape

One of Young Thug’s newer students and YSL signees, Yung Kayo, is here this weekend with a new mixtape. For hardcore fans of the Washington D.C. native, this should be an exciting release. The reason being is based on the origins of the 16 tracks here. According to the Genius annotation for Holy Grails, these are all some highly sought after snippets and teasers from a couple of years ago. Specifically, they were concocted just a little before Yung Kayo dropped off his debut album, DFTK. This makes Holy Grails just his second LP so far, but he’s apparently got a ton more on deck. We say that because the details are unconfirmed, but the sources are there to give some validity to these notes.

What we know is that Komodo was actually going to be his next project and classified as an album. Moreover, it was apparently supposed to arrive this month. Instead, we have Holy Grails, so the former is on the shelf, for now anyway. But there are more coming at some point, including dbno, free slime, and free yak. That information was revealed in a now deleted Instagram post as of October 28. Fans will surely eat this up in the meantime though, even though it seems as if it’s more of a bridging project. There are some crazy futuristic beats, with some samples from bigger names like Lil Uzi Vert. Check out Holy Grails with the links below.

G Herbo Re-Releases “Strictly 4 My Fans 2” With Five New Tracks

Chicago’s own G Herbo has been a name in hip-hop circles since he was seventeen years old, after appearing on Lil Bibby’s debut mixtape Free Crack. Welcome to Fazoland, Herbo’s own debut tape (as Lil Herb), dropped over ten years ago, when he was eighteen. It quickly became popular on DatPiff. Since then, G Herbo has not quite had the star-level breakthrough that some of his Chicago peers did (i.e. Chief Keef and Lil Durk), but he has had a career that any aspiring rapper would be happy with. He has a highly dedicated fanbase and a collection of projects that they love. In April 2023, Herbo released Strictly 4 My Fans 2, the sequel to his 2016 mixtape. Over a year and a half later, he reissued the project, this time with five new tracks.

“Teflon” features an appearance from Taurus and production by Wheezy. The other four tracks, “Lionhearted,” “Breathing Heavy,” “My Soul,” and “Essence,” are solo cuts. G Herbo is in his element on the tracks, with his hard-hitting flow and dense verses about the life he was in. They’re strong additions to a mixtape his fans received well. Of course, his fans last saw G Herbo on Kai Cenat’s “Mafiathon 2” subathon on Twitch. He and his son shared an emotional moment that showed some real vulnerability. But now, he’s right back where he’s most comfortable: making music. Check out the five new tracks on Strictly 4 My Fans 2.0 below.

Kodak Black Delivers Latest Mixtape “Trill Bill”

Florida rapper Kodak Black is back with a new mixtape, Trill Bill. It’s his third release of the year, following his self-titled album Dieuson Octave and The Last Zombies on Earth, a compilation project featuring artists signed to the Vulture Love record label. Kodak has had a rough several years, with mounting legal problems stemming from multiple arrests, though then-president Donald Trump commuted one of his sentences towards the end of his first term. He has continued to drop music frequently in the interim, coming out with at least one new project every year since 2020.

Trill Bill follows a new trend for Kodak Black in that it is a much shorter release than much of his earlier work. Clocking in at 11 tracks and barely over a half hour in runtime, it is, if nothing else, a quick listen. Kodak rhymes over mid-tempo production with plenty of 808s to go around. The beats are spacy, often feeling like something a New York drill rapper might go over. It is not what one might expect from Kodak Black, especially if you remember his earlier hits. It’s a change of pace for the Florida rapper. Lyrically, it’s in line with his previous work. He knows what his fans look for out of his music and rarely deviates. It’s worked for him, as he is now ten years into his hip-hop journey with a loyal base behind him. Kodak Black’s music might not be for everyone, but it is still worth giving Trill Bill a chance. Stream the new mixtape from Kodak below.

Babyfxce E Only Brings “Real Striker Music” To The Table On His Latest Mixtape

Some of you may remember the name Babyfxce E from a previous track by Bfb Da Packman that we covered back in January. He’s a fellow Flint, Michigan neighbor to Bfb and collaborator of BabyTron’s and J.P.’s. But after hearing what he’s been putting out behind the scenes, we felt it was time to give him the solo shine he deserves. That’s what we are doing now, as Babyfxce E has another project out this year, Real Striker Music. It’s arrived just several months following the release of The X Tape (Deluxe), which had a nice feature list. Luh Tyler, BabyTron, Skilla Baby, and SleazyWorld Go were just a few that popped out.

For those who have not hit up any of E’s music, he’s got the monotone mumble that some of his Detroit counterparts have adopted. Veeze and Babyface Ray would be some good comparisons. Real Striker Music isn’t really here to drop anything to nice. It’s very aggressive and blunt in its delivery, but it still keeps some of that Michigan charm in its productions. This tape comes at an exciting time for Babyfxce E, as he is prepping to hit the road with Babyface Ray when he goes on his Wavy Navy University Tour. That kicks off on Christmas Eve and will run through February 7.

Skilla Baby Taps Hunxho, Toosii, 4batz & More For “Crack Music 3”

Skilla Baby is continuing a mixtape series that his fanbase has vouched for time and time again. That is his Crack Music projects, and this weekend, the third installment has arrived. The Detroit rapper is bringing it back to life after two years with 16 new cuts. Features on the project include 2024 XXL Freshmans Hunxho and 4batz, Toosii, Tee Grizzley, and Peezy. The lineage of Crack Music tapes traces back to 2020, about five years after dropping some loosies. Throughout his career, he has been a fairly versatile artist. He’s able to go more pop rap and melodic. But on Crack Music 3 (and the rest of them), Skilla Baby is ditching that for more straightforward trap cuts.

The rollout began back in early October with his unexpected 4batz collab, “So Bad.” It would then end on November 8 with the braggadocious and threatening single “Jwett.” Crack Music 3 looks to cap off a strong year for Skilla Baby, who’s been on multiple star-led projects. G Herbo, Maxo Kream, the late Rich Homie Quan, DaBaby, are just a few to list. Additionally, his solo catalog has been bolstered to a great extent with The Coldest and then it’s subsequent deluxe. You can stream Crack Music 3 on your favorite streaming platforms with the links below.

Talibando Makes Detroit Proud With “Art Of War”

Detroit has been shining for years thanks to the likes of major players Eminem, Danny Brown, Boldy James, Big Sean, and more. However, while they are still leading the way out in the Midwest, there are a lot of newcomers waiting their turn to carry the torch. Artists like Veeze, BabyTron, Bfb Da Packman, and Talibando are update the sound to be more understated yet hard-hitting at the same time. The raspy and hard-to-decipher flows and skittering beats make up this new era of Detroit hip-hop and fans have been messing with it. This weekend, we are taking a closer listen to one of those few bright stars we mentioned and for the first time.

Using process of elimination, we are talking about Talibando and his new mixtape, ART OF WAR. He’s been doing his thing under the radar for a few years. But lately, he’s been popping up on bigger platforms such as On The Radar. He’s also getting co-signs from some of his Detroit superiors, so he’s got all of the backing to emerge as one of the faces of the region. Helping that cause is ART OF WAR, which is Talibando’s first LP of 2024. It’s led by four singles, including “S680” featuring Veeze. See what one of the “Wavy Navy” members has to offer up to you with the links below.

Lloyd Banks Is Back To Haunt His Competition’s Nightmares With “Halloween Havoc V”

“That n**** Banks one of the top n****s ever with bars. That’s one rap n**** n****s don’t play with. It’s certain rap n****s n****s don’t play with. He got a million lines [where] you’ll be like, ‘How the f*** I didn’t think of that?’” That was Benny The Butcher (via HipHopDX) talking about how talented Lloyd Banks, his New York contemporary, really is. Given how the Griselda affiliate was conveying his message, it almost sounds like the former G-Unit MC is someone to be feared. That is especially true around this time of year, as Lloyd Banks is known to drop projects in his fan-favorite Halloween Havoc series.

It’s true once again in 2024 with the V installment in the series here as of yesterday. It’s the second in two years, with the fourth, The 72nd Hr, ending a seven-year absence. Halloween Havoc V is the first project for Lloyd Banks this year and it’s quite the way for him to reintroduce himself solo wise. Across the 16 songs, he’s sounding more imposing than ever before over some equally frightening beats. A huge shout out goes to Cartune Beatz, Arkatech Beatz, Formula 2, among others for keeping the grim vibe of these tapes alive. Despite this being such a substantial listen according to the fans, Power 105.1 says there’s a chance that A.O.N. (All or Nothing) Series Vol. 3: Despite My Mistakes, drops sooner than later.
