Lil Uzi Vert Says They’re Not Dropping “Pink Tape” Deluxe Edition Next

Lil Uzi Vert is hot off the release of their highly-anticipated LP, Pink Tape. Recently, the artist appeared on a livestream where he revealed details of his next release. Uzi says that they don’t plan on dropping a deluxe edition of Pink Tape. The artist claimed that instead, they plan on releasing an entirely new album next.

Lil Uzi Vert teased Pink Tape for months ahead of the album’s release, providing fans with snippets and hints. There was a good amount of speculation online about which artists would make appearances on the new LP. Many fans thought Playboi Carti was going to be featured, due to Uzi posting a photo of the rapper on his Instagram Story recently. Listeners were disappointed when the album arrived, with no Carti in sight. Pink Tape does, however, feature Nicki Minaj on the song “Endless Fashion.” Nicki gives Baddies star Natalie Nunn a shoutout on the song, which Nunn was thrilled about.

Currensy and Harry Fraud Keep It Brief On “Vices”

New Orleans rapper Currensy and New York producer Harry Fraud have dropped a new collaborative project. The project is relatively brief running just 9 tracks and barely over 22 minutes, but it’s packed with features. Benny The Butches. Jim Jones, Tommy Wright III, Larry June, G.T., Rome Streetz, and Vico all appear on various songs. Instrumentally, Harry Fraud is the lone credited producer on the album responsible for all 9 tracks.

For Curren$y, it’s his second new project for 2023 so far. Back in April, he released a similarly brief collection of tracks with legendary producer Jermaine Dupri. The album was called For Motivational Use Only, Vol. 1, and also had some impressive features within its tracklist. The likes of T.I. and 2 Chainz show up on two different songs from the mixtape’s second half. Curren$y has been in an extremely prolific period of new releases for years now. The rapper famously released three full studio albums of new material all in 2021. Last year, he dropped a full-length collaboration with a different legendary producer, The Alchemist, called Continuance.

Currensy And Harry Fraud Team Up

While Harry Fraud’s output hasn’t been quite as prolific as Curren$y, he still released a number of high-profile collaborations last year. The first of which was Montega with French Montana. The album was absolutely loaded with features and got even more impressive with a deluxe version released later in the year. He also dropped You Take The Credit, We’ll Take The Check with Jay Worthy a few months later. he closed the year with Beyonce Belief a 10-track collaboration with 38 Spesh which featured Curren$y himself on the penultimate track.

Curren$y and Harry Fraud have even collaborated together before. For both artists, one of their most recognized projects is their 2018 team-up The Marina. The album featured the hit song The Count with Wiz Khalifa. What do you think of Currensy and Harry Fraud’s new collaborative album? Let us know in the comment section below.

The Alchemist Taps Earl Sweatshirt, Larry June & More On “Flying High”

The Alchemist remains one of the most prolific producers of our time. Over the years, he’s teamed up with a number of elite MCs to produce their projects in their entirety. However, when it comes time for him to serve up his own body of work, these same artists always come through for him. Last December, he released The Alchemist Sandwich, a 10 song album with features from Westside Gunn, Conway, ScHoolboy Q, and Earl Sweatshirt, among others.

This morning (June 30), the super producer doubled back with his newly released effort, Flying High. The eight-song project includes four original songs and their instrumentals. Earl Sweatshirt and Billy Woods join forces on “RIP Tracy.” Then, Alc pairs T.F. and Boldy James on “Trouble Man.” Other features on the project include MIKE, Sideshow, Jay Worthy, and Larry June. If you’re looking for top-tier rapping and equally impressive production, you have to press play on Flying High.

The Alchemist Returns

Flying High marks The Alchemist’s first solo release of the year but second overall. In March, the producer linked up with Larry June for the release of The Great Escape, which remains one of the better hip-hop projects of the year. The Great Escape perfectly paired The Alchemist’s ethereal style of production with June’s laidback flow, along with features from Big Sean, Ty Dolla $ign, Curren$y, Joey Bada$$, Action Bronson, and more.

While Alc’ continues to play a major role behind the scenes, he actually made a brief return to rapping earlier this year. For Hit-Boy’s latest album, Surf Or Drown, the two producers swapped beats and dropped a few bars. It marked the first time in a long time that we’ve heard Alchemist get back into his rapping roots in a minute. Although he doesn’t come through with any bars on Flying High, his production prowess shines across the project. Press play above and let us knw your favorite song in the comments below.

Lil Uzi Vert’s “Pink Tape” Lives Up To The Expectations: Twitter Reacts

Lil Uzi Vert might have just come through with hip-hop’s first #1 album of 2023. Although we’ll have to see how Young Thug’s Business Is Business performs on Billboard 200, Uzi’s Pink Tape could very well become the highest-selling hip hop album of the year. After all, it’s been nearly three years since Eternal Atake and they began teasing Pink Tape last year. Plus, the success of “Just Wanna Rock” created even more anticipation surrounding the project.

This morning, Pink Tape arrived in its entirety with features from Nicki Minaj, Don Toliver, and Travis Scott. However, Uzi even nabbed some more unexpected features from Babymetal and Bring Me The Horizon. The eclectic collection of records remains cohesive while leaping into more experimental grounds, as we’ve expected from the Philadelphia artist. And ultimately, the risks prove rewarding as fans are already declaring Pink Tape to be the Album Of The Year.

Pink Tape Highlights

The moment that the clock struck midnight, fans flooded streaming platforms like Apple, Tidal, and Spotify, which reportedly crashed after the project release. However, once fans were able to dive into the 26-song body of work, they definitely weren’t disappointed. Records like “Aye” with Travis Scott and the Nicki Minaj-assisted, “Endless Fashion” came as immediate standouts among the collaborations while records like “Nakumura” received praise for its creative use of Shinsuke Nakamura’s theme song “The Rising Sun.”

Reactions To Lil Uzi Vert’s Album

Ultimately, Lil Uzi Vert came through with a strong body of work overall. Despite the fact that it’s 26 songs with a run time of nearly an hour and a half, Uzi ensured that the wait for Pink Tape was well worth the hype. Fans immediately came out of the gates declaring the album to be the “Album of The Year” shortly after it was released. While it might be a bit early to give the album that type of title, Uzi certainly came through with a strong contender. While Doja has yet to reveal a title nor a release date for her new album, she’s been teasing it more and more in recent weeks. She shared a potential 19-song tracklist back in April. The list featured the song, “Attention,” which went on to be the first single from the project two months later. The single features Doja moving into a more hip-hop-focused style after having criticized her previous albums, Hot Pink (2019) and Planet Her (2021), as “cash-grabs” and “mediocre pop.”

In one since-deleted tweet, she told fans that she’s setting out to prove she can rap: “I also agree with everyone who said the majority of my rap verses are mid and corny. I know they are. I wasn’t trying to prove anything I just enjoy making music but I’m getting tired of hearing yall say that I can’t so I will.”

GloRilla Explains Why Men Like Her Music

GloRilla says that men enjoy her music despite not typically listening to female rappers. She discussed why she feels this is the case during a recent interview with Rolling Stone.

GloRilla explained: “I know a lot of dudes, they won’t ride around listening to no girl that sound like a girl, because they going to be like, ‘Oh, I’m being pussy.’ But they hear me and now [they say], ‘She slick sound like one of us.’”

“I say shit that’s for females, but it’s stuff that n****s can say in reverse,” she further argued. “I actually like going through shit sometimes, because it makes me perfect my craft.” It’s not the first time GloRilla has spoken about her voice. She previously told The Cut that she was insecure about her sound earlier in her career.

However, GloRilla also says that she plans on exploring new styles on her upcoming debut album. “I don’t want to be labeled as just a ratchet rapper, you know what I’m saying?” she told the outlet. “I’m going for different vibes — stuff that everybody can relate to. Of course I’m going to put my ratchet, fun shit out, because that’s what I blew up with. [But] I want to actually talk to people, let them know … I can talk some real shit. I can go gospel. I can do a little R&B.”

With the exploration in style, GloRilla did admit to Rolling Stone that she’s nervous. “I ain’t going to lie, I’m super nervous. I know people expect so much out of me,” she said. “When they look at me, when they mention my name, they put me up there with the big dogs like Cardi, Nicki, Megan. I’m like, ‘Damn, I got to deliver like them.’ This got to be a Grammy-nominated album. And it’s going to be.” Be on the lookout for more details regarding GloRilla’s album in the coming months.

Jay Rock Says New Album Is All Hits: “No Skips”

Jay Rock is almost ready to drop hit latest rap album, which has been five years coming. Why has this album taken so long? According to Jay, speaking with Bootleg Kev at BET Weekend on Saturday, “…I’m tryna do an album like my last one where you ain’t gotta skip sh*t. No skips.” (The pandemic is also a solid excuse.) He understands the fans clamoring for more music, but Jay Rock is a perfectionist and wants to release good tunes, not mediocre vibes.

He’s looking to drop a major album that screams quality, something Jay Rock fans can appreciate. He released his first single from the tracklist, “Eastside,” earlier today. While that’s a little taste of what’s to come, it slakes the thirst of those waiting for the follow-up to 2018’s Redemption. That album had features from Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Future, Jeremih, and SZA. It also debuted at number 13 on the Billboard 200 and one track, “King’s Dead,” won the Grammy for Best Rap Performance in 2018. Therefore, there’s plenty of expectation surrounding the new album.

Jay Rock New Music… Finally!

Despite the release hiatus, the TDE rapper is keeping busy. Top Dawg Entertainment, the independent record label, houses an entire family of rap kings and queens. Back in 2019, Jay Rock mentioned how all of their success raises each of their ships. “We came up from the ground up,” he said. “We built this thing from the ground up, so why would one of us be bitter [at] one another?” With Kendrick, SZA, and ScHoolboy Q running the TDE show with Jay, they’re just getting started with taking the rap industry by storm.

While we wait for Untitled Jay Rock Album, at least he’s getting out of the house and gracing us with his presence. He went to the 2023 BET Awards. Plus, he featured on multiple records for other musical artists. With friendly competition and hard work, he’s stayed in the conversation. But now, a new album full of Jay Rock music is just what the doctor ordered.
