NeNe Leakes’ oldest son, Bryson Bryant, “cannot be found,” according to a new report from In Touch. The outlet cites court documents in which his probation officer says he failed to report on both August 14 and September 30. They tried calling his cell phone, checked the local jail rosters, and more, but were unsuccessful. In the filing, which is dated October 3, the officer confirmed that he still had not heard from Bryson and no update in the case has been made since.
The report comes after Bryson took a plea deal in his criminal case for alleged fentanyl possession and giving a false name to police officers back in May. He agreed to plead guilty to a misdemeanor charge of Giving False Information to a Law Enforcement Officer in exchange for having his Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance charge dropped. He was sentenced to 12 months’ probation and ordered to pay a $500 fine. For the probation, he must complete 40 hours of community service while submitting to random drug tests.
When The Jasmine Brand shared the news on Instagram, fans had mixed responses. “Damn she is going through it with her loved ones… husband died, one son has cancer, and other trouble with the law. Don’t wish this on no mother,” one user wrote. Another added: “At this point she has to give him tough love and cut him off. I know she love him because she birth him but he doing stuff cause he know no one going leave him.”
Leakes previously spoke about her son’s troubles shortly after his initial arrest in 2023. “He needs a lot of counseling. Like many families out there, I have family members that are struggling with drugs and certain addictions. He has an addiction,” she said at the time on the Reality with the King podcast. “He’s been in rehab for a couple of times and he still has come back out and relapsed.”
Bryson Bryant, the oldest son of former “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star NeNe Leakes, has avoided jail time following his arrest for drug possession charges last year. Bryant, 34, reached a plea deal with prosecutors in Georgia.
Court documents obtained by In Touch reveal that prosecutors agreed to dismiss the possession of a Schedule II controlled substance charge against Bryant. Instead, he pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of giving false information to a law enforcement officer. As part of the plea deal, Bryant was sentenced to 12 months of probation and fined $500.
Bryant’s probation comes with several conditions, which, if violated, could result in jail time. He is required to complete 40 hours of community service within the first six months of his probation. Additionally, Bryant will undergo random drug tests as ordered by his probation officer.
“The Defendant shall provide a release which allows the Community Supervision Office to have access to all medical, clinical, treatment, attendance or work records, and for driving and criminal history,” stated the court order.
Bryant is also mandated to undergo an evaluation and/or treatment for substance abuse. During his probation, he is prohibited from consuming alcoholic beverages and using narcotics or dangerous drugs unless they are lawfully prescribed.
Bryant’s legal troubles began with his arrest on July 3, 2023, in Georgia, where he was charged with possession of fentanyl. However, the plea deal has allowed him to avoid incarceration, provided he adheres strictly to the terms of his probation.
Former Real Housewives of Atlanta star NeNe Leakes is reportedly engaged in a legal dispute with a landlord over allegedly not paying 22k in rent for her business. The landlord, MPG-Sugarloaf, served Truist Bank with a summons to collect after receiving a judgment over $25,000, according to court documents obtained by In Touch. A judge determined the figure in November 2023 and it factors in accruing interest. At the property, she ran a since-closed Swagg Boutique.
The summons in question instructs the bank, “to immediately hold all money, including wages, and other property, except what is known to be exempt, including property in safe deposit boxes or similar property that you hold, belonging to the Defendant named above beginning on the day of service of this summons and including the next five days.”
The lawsuit claims NeNe signed the lease in 2017 and operated the business there until 2022. It temporarily closed during the COVID-19 pandemic as well. MPG-Sugarloaf claims she still owed $22k in rent when she vacated the property and still hasn’t paid up. When The Jasmine Brand covered the lawsuit on Instagram, NeNe clarified in the comments section: “Gregg signed the lease not me! He ain’t here.” Her husband, Gregg passed away in September 2021 after a battle with cancer.
The case isn’t the only time NeNe has made headlines this month. She also ranted on social media about her former friend, Porsha Williams, after she apparently declined to work on her Netflix show. “I was later told that Porsha did not show up and said that she did not want to work with me, that we had had issues from the past and she did not want to work with me,” NeNe revealed in a post. Behind the glitz and glamor of Bravo TV’s popular reality shows are a couple of lawsuits. The darker side of reality TV has, on numerous occasions, led several stars to take legal action against the network that catapulted them to fame. Over the years, Bravo has faced its fair share of legal battles with its cast members. From contractual disputes to allegations of harassment and wrongful termination, these lawsuits shed light on the controversies inherent in reality TV. The Real Housewives of New York’s Leah McSweeney is the latest in the number of reality TV stars with lawsuits against Bravo, alongside these others.
In 2022, NeNe Leakes filed lawsuits against NBCUniversal and Bravo TV. She also filed against executive producer Andy Cohen. Leakes cited a hostile and racially discriminatory working environment as her reasons. After her tenure on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, she also claimed that the organization’s corporate hierarchy was deficient in diversity. Therefore, it fostered insensitivity towards individuals of Color. She further stated that the Real Housewives franchise is marked by racial segregation. Finally, she criticized the treatment of diverse cast members on the show. Leakes dismissed the lawsuits later that year, but it remains one of the most popular cases against Bravo.
Caroline Manzo (The Real Housewives Of New Jersey)
In January 2023, reports emerged indicating the departure of Brandi Glanville and Caroline Manzo from Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip. Allegedly, Glanville crossed boundaries at a party by repeatedly kissing Manzo without her consent. Fast forward a year later, and Manzo filed lawsuits against Bravo TV, its personnel, and affiliated companies related to the incident. Manzo’s lawsuit alleges that the network has a practice of providing the Real Housewives cast with alcohol, inducing severe intoxication. Therefore, sexual harassment among cast members was promoted and promised, all purportedly for the sake of ratings.
Mariah Huq (Married To Medicine)
In 2021, Mariah Huq filed a lawsuit against Bravo, alleging discrimination. Moreover, she asserted that the network withheld her due royalties. Huq, who is recognized not only as the leading lady on her reality series but also credited as its creator and an executive producer on Bravo’s official website, took legal action against Purveyors of Pop, Bravo TV, NBC, and Fremantle. In her lawsuit, she contended that they engaged in “illegal and unethical” practices. These included, but were not limited to, violations of contractual agreements. Other practices include harassment and the unauthorized exploitation of Married to Medicine & Married to Medicine: the Series.
Brandi Glanville (The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills)
While Brandi Glanville has yet to file a lawsuit against Bravo TV, she did threaten to take legal action against the network and its executive producer, Andy Cohen. Glanville’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, sent a letter to NBC Universal, Shed Media, and Shed’s parent company, Warner Bros. Discovery. It was alleged that Andy Cohen, in an “inebriated” state, had sent her a video message. He reportedly expressed his intention to spend the night with another Bravo star while thinking of her and invited her to witness the encounter via Facetime. The letter further asserted that Glanville felt both “trapped” and “disgusted” by the nature of Cohen’s communication. Following the letter being disclosed, Cohen released a statement clarifying that the video was intended as a joke directed at Glanville.
Leah McSweeney (The Real Housewives Of New York)
Leah McSweeney, a former Real Housewives of New York City cast member, filed lawsuits against Bravo and Andy Cohen. In a strongly worded legal filing, she alleged that the show achieved its highest-ever audience ratings through an infamous episode titled Scary Island. In this episode, one of the stars appeared to exhibit confusion, irrational behavior, and a detachment from reality. She asserted that they deliberately exploited her struggles with alcohol in a calculated effort to turn her suffering into record-breaking ratings. According to Page Six, the network and its producers not only made alcohol available to her but encouraged her to drink. Last year, she sued the network for discrimination.
NeNe Leakes previously rose to fame thanks to the years she spent on Bravo’s Real Housewives of Atlanta reality series. Fans loved her for her hilarious commentary, bold style, and vivacious personality. Now that she’s no longer a part of the show, many continue to keep up with the glamorous life of her and her family.
Of course, the 55-year-old previously suffered a terrible loss when her long-time husband, Gregg, died of cancer in 2021. It was an undeniably tough few months for the New York-born entertainer. However, her strength and the love of those around her carried her through.
Unfortunately, at the end of last year, Leakes was struck by tragedy once again. This time, it was her son, Brentt Leakes, who suddenly fell ill. He surprisingly suffered from a heart attack and stroke at just 23 years old.
“Brentt doesn’t drink or do drugs. And obviously, they’ve tested him for all of those things,” the mother of one told followers when breaking the news. “They also tested him for HIV. They were thinking that maybe he had caught COVID and he didn’t know that he had COVID.”
Thankfully, the young man has since made a full recovery and has recently been showing off his impressive weight loss on social media.
In addition to flaunting his slimmer figure, Leakes also made headlines earlier this week when he seemingly came out on TikTok. In a video that’s been making rounds online, the young man participates in a trend where creators intentionally miss a shot into a basket. “If I miss, I’m gay,” he wrote over the clip.
Many saw this as NeNe’s son announcing his sexuality to the world. However, in a recent interview, the Glee actress says that Brentt isn’t gay. She apparently told her only child that she would still love and accept him if he was, but he denied the allegations.
“All my friends were calling me, calling him, concerned if he’s gay or not,” Leakes went on. “I didn’t really know what the big deal is?! [His] happiness is the most important thing to me. If my son, today, told me he was gay, I would be 100% okay with it.”

NeNe Leakes, a former star of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, filed a lawsuit against the show’s producers, alleging that they fostered and tolerated a hostile and racist work environment.
According to The Associated Press, Leakes complained to show executives about racist remarks from white castmate Kim Zolciak-Bierman. Instead of action against Zolciak-Bierman, Leakes was punished. The lawsuit names NBCUniversal, Bravo, True Entertainment, and Truly Original as companies. Show executive producer Andy Cohen is also named.
“NBC, Bravo and True foster a corporate and workplace culture in which racially-insensitive and inappropriate behavior is tolerated – if not, encouraged,” the suit reads.
In the suit, Zolciak-Bierman stated “words to the effect of: ‘I don’t want to sit around with NeNe and eat chicken” when a scene was set to be at a barbecue. In season five, Zolciak-Bierman would refer to Kandi Burruss neighborhood as “ghetto” and suggested Burruss did not need a swimming pool. She also allegedly used the N-word in reference to Leakes, while also referring to her home as a “roach nest” and spreading false rumors of drug abuse.
“As the Black Lives Matter movement swept our nation, Mrs. Leakes — Bravo’s historically most successful Black female talent — should have been embraced by NBC, Bravo, and True,” part of the suit reads. “Instead, NBC, Bravo, and True forced her out of the ‘house she built,’ denying her a regular role.”
Zolciak-Bierman was not included in the suit. Leakes had a seven-season run on RHOA.
