Nelly Enters Liquor Industry with New Moonshine Brand

Nelly, Skai Jackson, Carole Baskin to Star in Upcoming Season of 'Dancing With the Stars'

A legendary Hip Hop artist is jumping into the liquor industry.  Nelly has started his own moonshine brand.  The Grammy Award-winning rapper calls his new beverage, MoShine.

Last week, at WSWA Access Live in Orlando, Florida, MoShine was introduced to the public.  The St. Louis, Missouri native named the brand after his hometown.  The “Hot in Herre” rapper joined forces with Piedmont Distillers to make the product come to life.  As of right now, MoShine has a few different flavors, including passion fruit and peach.  In a press release about the new drink, Nelly is trying to make this the drink of all parties.

“Where I come from, we work hard and play harder, and I want my fans to be able to reach for MoShine anytime they’re ready to get the party started.”

At the Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America event, the St. Lunatics member didn’t only just promote his new liquor and perform his hit songs, but he also played bartender.  During the event, a video surfaced showing Nelly passing out shots to the crowd and even taking one himself.  It’s safe to say he knows how to promote a product.

Nelly Announces “Hot In Herre” Festival With Rick Ross, T.I. & More

Festival season is right around the corner. Numerous festivals slated for the spring and summer already announced their lineups this year. Most recently, Dreamville announced that Dreamville Fest will take place the first two days of April. The headliners for the event include Drake, J. Cole, Usher, Summer Walker, and more. Additionally, Pusha T and Malice of Clipse are set to perform together for Chicago’s Hype Park Summerfest. Also, earlier this year in January, Travis Scott, 50 Cent and more landed on the lineup as headliners for Wireless Fest. So, it seems that festival posters and big names have been flying around everywhere to start the year. And with this, Country Grammar star Nelly wanted to join the fun.

On Feb. 28, Nelly announced that he’d be hosting a brand new festival called Hot In Herre. Named for one of the biggest hits of his career, Hot In Herre Festival takes place in Toronto on June 24. Aligning with his specific era of hip-hop, the lineup includes some 2000s legends. T.I., Rick Ross, Ne-Yo, Akon, and more will all perform at the show. Located at Downsview Park in Toronto, Hot In Herre will be the first festival Nelly has organized.

Nelly Is Ready To Rock

In a press release associated with the announcement, Nelly gave a statement about his excitement for Hot In Herre. “Toronto is one of my favorite cities to perform in, and the fact that I get to come back and bring all the people that came up with me in the industry means everything,” he said. “We have a lot of surprises in store for you, Toronto, and the Hot in Herre team can’t wait for this summer.” However, this announcement comes just a few weeks after Nelly worried some fans at a festival. At Juicy Fest in January, he exhibited troubling behavior on stage. However, it seems he does not have any health concerns related to the incident.

Along with Nelly’s statement, Hot In Herre’s co-organizer Nostalgia Inc. also gave some words in regards to the fest. “From ‘Ride Wit Me’ to ‘Dilemma’ to ‘Just a Dream’ every song will likely strike a chord,” they wrote. “So come equipped with bucket hats, low-rise camouflage pants, and film cameras galore, because these artists are getting ready to transport their fans back to a time when the most important thing was updating your Facebook status.” Just a few months away, tickets for the event are now available here.

Nelly Is Starting His Own Music Festival And Of Course It’s Named After One Of His Biggest Hits

It seems like every star in music has their own music festival these days. J. Cole’s got Dreamville, Tyler The Creator’s got Flog Gnaw, and Usher has taken over the Lovers And Friends Fest. Well, another contender has thrown their name in the ring, and like Usher, he’s a millennial favorite who’s named his event after one of his biggest hits and stocked its lineup with a bunch of his contemporaries.

Nelly‘s Hot In Herre festival is aimed for June 24 at Toronto’s Downsview Park with a lineup consisting of millennial favorites like Akon, Chingy, Fat Joe, Ja Rule, Keri Hilson, Ne-Yo, Rick Ross, and T.I. Not bad for a one-day festival that isn’t in any of the booked artists’ usual stomping grounds. You’d think it’d be in St. Louis, right?

In the press release, Nelly sort of explains the location. “Toronto is one of my favorite cities to perform in, and the fact that I get to come back and bring all the people that came up with me in the industry means everything,” he says. “We have a lot of surprises in store for you, Toronto, and the Hot in Herre team can’t wait for this summer.”

General admission tickets are already online starting at $170. You can find more information on the official website.

Ashanti Would Collab With Nelly Again

Almost ten years after they ended their relationship, Ashanti and Nelly are still commanding attention. The pair began dating back in 2003 and were together for about a decade before calling it quits. After taking the industry by storm as the “it” couple of Hip Hop and R&B, the hitmakers parted ways and continued to have successful careers independent of one another.

Recently, the former couple reunited on stage, furthering gossip about a rekindled romance. While it doesn’t look like that is the case, Ashanti is open to collaborating with Nelly once again.

In a new interview with The New Norm with Selena Hill, Ashanti spoke about linking up musically with her ex.

“The majority of the questions I’ve been getting lately are, ‘Oh, are y’all getting back together?’” said the singer. “But releasing music together? The one thing that I can say is that we’re both very business savvy. So, if something is presenting itself as an opportunity to get money, we’re probably both gonna be with it.”

“I don’t know if we’re gonna go to the studio or anything together,” Ashanti added. “But what I will say is, again, we’re both very business savvy. If an opportunity presents itself to make a record and get to the bag, we’re probably gonna be all in.”

Ashanti Saw The Comments About Her Grinding On Nelly And Clarified Whether They’ll Get Back Together

Ashanti’s past has steadily resurfaced in the news cycle since August when a disgruntled Irv Gotti appeared on Drink Champs and drudged up private details about their early-2000s relationship, including how he found out Ashanti was dating Nelly in 2003. Ashanti fired back at Gotti in her verse for Diddy’s “Gotta Move On” remix in October, and later in the month, she alleged that Gotti had emotionally manipulated her.

However, this month, people are more interested in where Ashanti stands with Nelly. The exes were headliners at Power 98.3 & 96.1’s Under The Mistletoe concert in Glendale, Arizona on December 4. They performed their 2008 track “Body On Me,” and Ashanti sparked rumors by grinding on Nelly.

Ashanti appeared on last night’s (December 13) Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen and was asked for her reaction to the comments about her grinding on Nelly, especially one fan commenting that they should “follow in J. Lo and Ben’s footsteps.”

Ashanti laughed and said, “Oh my gosh. I saw a lot of comments. I mean, my reaction was, wow. It was a lot of comments and a lot of people wanting that. What I will say is we’re in a better place. … We’re cool now. We had some conversations. So, it’s cool.”

When Cohen pressed on whether she’d get back together with Nelly, Ashanti didn’t give a straight answer and again laughed off the question. So, there’s hope?

In March 2015, Ashanti said that she’d “been betrayed” during a discussion on The Meredith Vieira Show about the end of her 10-year relationship with Nelly. “Again, you just have to grow. You have to grow up and accept responsibilities for the things that you do,” she said (as noted by US Weekly). “I’m not a big fan of people being cowards. I think it’s really important to know yourself and understand what you want and get it. I’m in a different place right now.”

Ashanti Reacts To Possibility Of Getting Back Together With Nelly

Could Ashanti and Nelly be getting back together? Earlier this month, the former celebrity couple were sparking rumors of a potential reunion.

It all started when the pair appeared on stage together while at Power 98.3 and Power 96.1‘s “Under The Mistletoe” concert.

An intimate performance of their collaborative 2008 hit, “Body On Me” set social media ablaze. Some fans began expressing their hope for the duo to rekindle their love.

During a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, she confirmed that she’s been seeing all the comments. Of course, the late night TV host went on to ask the “Foolish” singer about the possibility after a pair of fans brought the topic up while appearing virtually.

“I saw a lot of comments. I mean, my reaction was, ‘wow!’ It was a lot of comments and people wanting that. What I will say is we’re in a better place. We’re cool now. We had some conversations, so it’s cool” she insists.

After Cohen blatantly asks if the reunion will happen, Ashanti chokes on her words. However, it seems as though it at least won’t be happening now. The power couple spent over a decade together before eventually calling it quits in 2014.

In other recent news, Nelly has been receiving backlash for some old videos resurfacing online.

In a number of clips, the Country Grammar artist is seen singing inappropriately to evidently underage girls. Furthermore, he’s also seen grabbing the hair of two underage fans in two separate videos.

In one of the videos, the 48-year-old even attempts to hold the young girl’s hand. Obviously, this is met with uncertainty and visual discomfort. It’s still unclear as to why these videos just recently began to circulate on social media.

S followers criticized the songstress for frequently being photographed in exotic locations. While others came to Ashanti’s defense. “If you follow her you’ll actually see she’s performing at the majority of the locations where you see her in bikinis, ” one fan wrote. “She carved out a career of working in exotic locations.”

It isn’t the first time this month that Ashanti had the Internet in a frenzy. She joined ex-boyfriend Nelly on Saturday during Power 96.1‘s “Under The Mistletoe” concert for a steamy performance. Ashanti donned a bottomless, magenta ensemble as she dropped in low in front of her ex-beau. Nelly was pleased with the “Rain On Me” singer’s dance moves. He was as smiles as the pair performed their 2008 smash hit, “Body On Me.”

Ashanti also made headlines after revealing that a producer wanted to shower with him in exchange for beats. “We did two records together. He was like, ‘OK, I’m not gonna charge you, you’re my homie,’” she recalled on the Breakfast Club. “When it came time to put it on the album, he was like, ‘Well, let’s take a shower together and I’ll give you the records. If not, I need 40 racks per record.’” Ashanti did not reveal the identity of the producer.
