J. Cole’s Deleted “7 Minute Drill” Still Makes An Impressive Debut On Billboard Hot 100

J. Cole had everyone hip-hop fan’s phone blowing up when he dropped a new project out of nowhere. Might Delete Later is now the German-born MC’s first solo tape since The Off-Season and is essentially full of B-sides and leftovers from the vlog series of the same name. Outside of it being a new release from J. Cole it had the community in a stranglehold because of the diss response to Kendrick Lamar called “7 Minute Drill.” While it was heavily discussed, the consensus seems to be that it felt to be a bit of a stretch and the disses were a little flimsy. Regardless, “7 Minute Drill” still did well for itself because it just peaked pretty high on the Billboard Hot 100.

According to Uproxx, Billboard announced the updated top 10 songs on the Hot 100 chart and the track is poised for a number six debut. This is extremely impressive considering our previous points, but also because Cole just removed the song off streaming a few days ago. Fans have been roasting the peaceful rapper for being just that. But if he did not feel comfortable in releasing it to begin with, you have to commend him for sticking to what he believes in and not buying into what the fans wanted.

“7 Minute Drill” Goes Number 6 On Billboard

In terms of other noteworthy tracks on this updated list, “Like That,” the song which started all of this trading of shots, has now gone number one for three consecutive weeks. “Type S***” by Metro Boomin, Future, Travis Scott, and Playboi Carti is also holding its own in the ninth slot. Furthermore, Beyonce and Jack Harlow are still going strong with their overnight hits “TEXAS HOLD ‘EM” and “Lovin On Me,” respectively. The only question going forward is, how does Cole feel about deleting the song now?

What are your thoughts on J. Cole debuting at number six with “7 Minute Drill” on the Billboard Hot 100 chart? Is this the best song still off of Might Delete Later, why or why not? Or do these stats not help how inauthentic it was for Cole to make this song? Did he make the right decision deleting the song off the project? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding J. Cole and “7 Minute Drill.” Finally, stay with us for everything else going on around the music world.

Rick Ross Implies Drake Didn’t Write His “Sicko Mode” Verse Amid Feud

Rick Ross implied that Drake didn’t write his verse on Travis Scott’s hit song, “Sicko Mode,” while listening to the track on his Instagram Story, Sunday night. The accusation comes as the two have been feuding in recent days. “Who wrote this? Guess who wrote this, you would never guess who wrote this,” he said while the song played. It’s unclear exactly whether Ross was implying that he wrote the verse or he simply knows that someone else did.

Regardless, many fans came to Drake’s defense when Hollywood Unlocked shared the clip on Instagram. One user wrote: “Doesn’t matter who wrote it … ghost writing is an actual JOB … who made the beat?? Who played the drums? Who did the keyboards? Who was the engineer? Who did the edits? Who mastered the track? It’s all a PROCESS.” Another commented: “It don’t matter who wrote it. Who got rich off of it? Easy on Drake!” Others accused Drake’s fans of not being real hip-hop fans.

50 Cent Celebrates Kesha For “F*ck P Diddy” Diss

50 Cent was loving Kesha’s decision to diss Diddy at Coachella. He shared a clip of her performance on Instagram, Sunday, and joked that Diddy will theorize he told her to do so. While performing her iconic track, “TiK ToK,” with Reneé Rapp, she changed up the lyric: “Wake up in the mornin’ feelin’ like P Diddy.” Instead, she replaced the final words with, “f*ck P Diddy.”

“LOL she said [middle finger emoji] Fvck P DIDDY, HAHAAHAHA [eyeball emoji] PUFFY LIKE 50 TOLD HER TO SAY THAT!” 50 wrote on Instagram. Fans shared plenty of laughs in the comments section. “The devil works hard, but 50 works even harder,” one user wrote. Another commented: “Bc nobody wants to wake up in the morning feelin’ like P Diddy right now.”

It wasn’t the first time Kesha had changed the lyrics either. Following Cassie’s lawsuit back in November, which served as the tipping point for countless more suits in the time since, Kesha sang, “Wake up in the morning feeling just like me!” while performing on her Only Love Tour in Oakland. In addition to the lawsuits, Homeland Security agents raided Diddy’s homes in Los Angeles and Miami as part of a sex trafficking investigation, last month. Diddy has denied all of the claims against him and has yet to face any charges. His lawyer, Aaron Dyers, labeled the raids on his properties a “gross overuse of military-level force” in a statement at the time.

Summrs “B4DaRaven” Review

Summrs is a 24-year-old MC who hails from Lafayette, Louisiana. As a member of the SoundCloud era, Summrs has been steadily releasing music since 2016, with a prolific output that has sometimes resulted in the rapper dropping multiple projects per month. His latest effort, B4DaRaven, serves as a prequel mixtape for his upcoming album Tale Of Da Raven. Summrs will release Tale Of Da Raven sometime in May. The project, which was released on April 12, runs seven tracks over the course of 18 minutes. Let’s dive into the brief tracklist of B4DaRaven and examine the material therein.

The Project Starts Strong

B4DaRaven has a strong opener with “Curbside at The Ritz,” a trap banger with pulsing 808 patterns and stabby string instruments. On the song, Summers spits a few bars, updating the public on his recent misadventures, including beating cases, cutting off fake friends, and partying with fast women. The song is a pretty standard trap outing, all things considered, but it sets the tone for B4DaRaven well enough and serves as a highlight overall.

“Made Man” continues the hot streak as the young rapper describes themes of crime and extravagance in his rhymes. On this track, Summrs’s voice is characteristically drowning in autotune, though the mixing of the track lends itself to the robotic vocal effects, making it aesthetically pleasing. The upbeat cowbell-heavy drums provide a light and airy sense of weightlessness to the track, making Summrs’s confessions sound chill and laid-back.

“B4DaRaven” Hits A Lul Fast

“Situationships” is kind of a painful listen. Summrs gives his take on a number of women, referenced by first name, and why he couldn’t make a full-time relationship work with them. This song sounds like a cheap imitation of tracks like “Mambo No. 5” or Anderson Paak’s 2018 track “Sweet Chick.” Unfortunately, this song is the first major dud on the album, but not the last.

The two-hander “Sneaky Link/Love that 4 us” is clearly designed to be a focal point of B4DaRaven, with a wailing guitar solo that separates the first leg of the track from the second in an obvious attempt at replicating the success of Kanye West’s “Devil In A New Dress.” Unfortunately, the vocal performance on this one is repetitive and redundant, and mixed like you’re hearing it through a Bluetooth speaker in a plastic bag from the inside of a high school’s stairwell. Additionally, Summrs bites Lil Uzi’s vocal style so hard on this song that Uzi could probably legally demand royalties.

The Back Half Of The Tape Loses It’s Momentum

After the one-two punch of “Situationships” and “Sneaky Link/Love that 4 us,” Summrs never truly regains his footing on the project. “Drank n Sex” is as predictable as the title would suggest while offering drowned-out autotune mixing that pales in comparison to earlier songs such as “Made Man.” “In our favor” is a rare gem that offers Summr’s insight into poverty, struggle, and the American dream. Still, the track is criminally short, and offers very little time to marinate on the ideas presented in the lyrics. The final track on the tape, “Brioni shawl collar/Catfish,” sees Summrs rapping about fashion and luxury brands in a two-hander that is much better than “Sneaky Link/Love that 4 us,” but is still too little too late to save the project at this point.

B4DaRaven certainly won’t be nominated for any Grammy Awards and likely won’t appear on many “best of 2024” lists. Still, at the end of the day, this project exists mostly to build hype for Summrs’s upcoming album. While the showings on B4DaRaven offer very little on their own, they serve as passable scraps pulled from the cutting room floor to promote the rapper’s new material.

How Many Kids Does Cardi B Have?

Cardi B officially announced her split with Migos rapper Offset back in December. Even though they ended their marriage, they continue co-parenting a pair of young children, born in 2018 and 2021 respectively. While the children aren’t exactly old enough to be making their own waves in the world of pop culture, the former Hollywood power couple have not shied away from sharing their kids with the world. Both Cardi B and Offset’s shared kids have even appeared in the 2023 music video for Cardi’s song “Jealousy,” which also prominently featured Offset’s three elder children from previous relationships. Let’s dive into the identities of Cardi B’s two kids and see what the public knows about them.

Kulture Kiari Cephus

Kulture is Cardi B’s very first child. She was born in Atlanta in July of 2018 and has been a mainstay on both Cardi and Offset’s Instagram pages ever since. Kulture’s first name is a play on the famous Culture album trilogy by the Migos, as well as Cardi B and Offset’s continued inclusion in the culture of hip hop. Her middle name, Kiari, is the first name of Cardi B’s father, proving that the “I Like It” femcee has a penchant for being sentimental with her kids.

As a member of Cardi B’s famous family, Kulture has appeared at numerous red-carpet events and Hollywood premieres, including the May 2023 opening of The Little Mermaid. She also graces the cover of Offset’s aptly titled solo album Father of 4. As of Summer 2023, Kulture is a pre-kindergarten graduate and has stated that she intends to be a doctor when she grows up. Of course, her career path will be subject to change dozens of times before she reaches adulthood.

Wave Set Cephus

Continuing the sentimental naming tradition, Cardi B named her second child Wave Set Cephus. The middle name is a clear reference to his father, Offset. At the same time, “Wave” is a common hip-hop term signifying a prolific moment in time, good fortune, and success or a trend that revolutionizes everything. Wave was born in September of 2021 and is Cardi B’s only biological son as of this writing. Cardi B and Offset first announced their second pregnancy during the 2021 BET Awards, though they didn’t publicize their son’s image until he was at least seven months of age.

Obviously, not much is known about the young boy at this time, as he is only two and a half years old. If we were to guess, we’d say he’s currently really into sugary treats, stumbling his way through the room to a chorus of “aww’s” and mischievously opening and shutting cabinets.

Cardi B Is Also A Stepmom To 3

Despite Cardi B and Offset’s breakup, Cardi has a loving and long-lasting relationship with his three kids from previous relationships. Jordan was born in 2009 to Offset’s ex, Justine Watson, while Kody and Kalea were both born in 2015 to Oriel Jamie and Shya L’amour, respectively. Offset has rapped about each of his kids and his journey of fatherhood many times, even referencing Kalea by name on the track “Father of 4.”

Are Ye & Diddy Frenemies? Examining Their Relationship

Kanye West and Diddy are two of the most controversial figures in pop culture today. They’ve both made headlines individually for an array of accusations and actions, as well as for their on-again, off-again relationship. Questions about the status of their friendship were sparked once more in 2024 after Ye reportedly snubbed Diddy at Rolling Loud. So, where do these two stand? Let’s take a trip down their friendship timeline.

December 2019: Ye Attends Diddy’s 50th Birthday

NEW YORK, NY – FEBRUARY 12: Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs (L) and Kanye West backstage at the adidas Originals x Kanye West YEEZY SEASON 1 fashion show during New York Fashion Week Fall 2015 at Skylight Clarkson Sq on February 12, 2015 in New York City. (Photo by Kevin Mazur/Getty Images for adidas)

Amid Ye’s highly publicized rift with another music industry legend, Jay-Z, the two were spotted at Diddy’s extravagant birthday bash. Ye and Jay-Z seemed to squash their beef during the event, at least temporarily. Similarly, Ye was seen taking pictures with Diddy as the two chatted during the event. Things were pretty calm in the years following the party.

June 2022: Ye Presents The BET Lifetime Achievement Award To Diddy

Ye made a surprise attendance at the 2022 BET Awards to present the Lifetime Achievement Award to Diddy. His kind words of praise for Combs showed that the two were still on good terms at the time and had mutual respect. During Ye’s speech, he asked, “How do we crown our kings? How do we appreciate our kings?” He also added that he “goes to [Diddy] for advice to this day” and that Diddy “inspired so many of my life choices, my wife’s choices” (referring to his then-wife, Kim Kardashian).

He ended his speech by saying, “This man has been through and survived a lot of stuff and broke down a lot of doors so we can be standing. He also added, “He broke down so many doors of classism, taste, culture, swag. Puff, if I never told you, I love you. You’re my brother.” The heartfelt moment was capped with a hug shared between Ye and Diddy.

October 5, 2022: White Lives Matter Shirt Beef

Only a few months after their emotional embrace on the BET stage, Diddy spoke about Kanye following the rapper’s controversial “White Lives Matter” shirt. In an interview on The Breakfast Club, he seemed to defend Ye’s actions. Diddy referred to Kanye as a “free thinker.” Furthermore, he maintained that many of the things Ye says and does are “misconstrued.”

When he was accused by Charlamagne The God of defending Ye, Diddy insisted that he wasn’t. Instead, he clarified his stance by explaining where he felt Ye was coming from. He concluded by saying that Ye didn’t need to be condemned or canceled, but rather, he should take accountability for his actions. A few days later, Diddy shared a video on his Instagram, addressing the White Lives Matter shirt once again. In the video, he said, “I’ll always support my brother Kanye as a freethinker, but the ‘white lives matter’ shirt, I don’t rock with it.”

October 7, 2022: Kanye Responds

Ye didn’t take so kindly to Diddy’s statements about his shirt, both in public and private. As a result, he responded with a series of Instagram posts. They included screenshots of texts between him and Diddy where things got a bit heated. Diddy asked for Ye to meet him in person, saying, “Let’s stop playing these internet games.” However, Ye responded with hostility, saying he would use Diddy as “an example to show the Jewish people that told [Diddy] to call me that no one can threaten or influence me,” also adding that “this is a war.”

When Diddy stated that he was just trying to speak to Ye as a Black man because his actions were hurting the culture, Ye stated that he would be posting anything that Diddy said. He doubled down on his actions, saying, “I’m selling these tees. Nobody gets in between me and my money,” alongside other aggravated comments. He later deleted all the posts as he is known to do, but it seems the two never reconciled from the beef.

October 15, 2022: Ye Calls Diddy A Fed

Just a week after their public feud began, Ye was interviewed on an episode of Drink Champs, where he had a lot to say about many rappers in the industry. Naming Diddy, alongside Meek Mill and others, Ye called them feds. He also claimed they turned on him to save themselves from serving time. The interview was later taken down for Kanye’s racist and antisemitic comments. Nonetheless, it began to resurface in 2024 following the FBI raid on Diddy’s homes.

March 2024: Rolling Loud Snub

The most recent public encounter between the two music juggernauts happened at Rolling Loud in Los Angeles. The two had seemingly not reconciled since butting heads in 2022, and Ye’s treatment of Diddy at Rolling Loud was proof of that. Diddy was seen watching Ye’s Rolling Loud set with his son Justin Combs. Rumor had it that he planned on speaking with Ye privately after the set. However, Complex reported that Kanye allegedly curved Diddy, declining to speak with him and leaving without saying a word to the rapper.

Danny Brown Reveals The Lesson Jay-Z And Ye Taught Him About Songwriting Credits

Danny Brown’s podcast has become one of the must-stop places for rappers to appear. Brown himself is a hilarious host with opinions on nearly every subject you can imagine and a seemingly endless well of wild stories from both his time in the music industry and before. His most recent guest was ScHoolboy Q. Q recently dropped his new album Blue Lips, his first new project in 5 years since 2019’s CrasH Talk. During the podcast, they touched on a variety of subjects, including the way that sampling and interpolation can affect songwriting credits.

In particular, he discussed his 2013 single “Dip.” The song currently sits with over 16 million streams on Spotify, but Danny hasn’t seen much of the payout from that. “With ‘Dip,’ JAY-Z and Kanye killed my ass. They own that whole muthaf*cka. And that’s one of my biggest songs. I don’t get shit from that muthaf*cka!” The song contains an interpolation of Ye and Jay-Z’s “N*ggas In Paris” and the pair received songwriting credits on the song as a result. “I’ll never use a n*gga hook again, man. I learned my lesson, man. Skylar be mad at me to this day, like, ‘Yeah, that was one of the biggest ones, man. We f*cked up.’ Because you know, he made that beat. We don’t get sh*t from that muthaf*cka.” Brown explained. Check out the full new episode of his podcast below.

Danny Brown Isn’t Making Money From “Dip”

Later in the year he followed it up with the long awaited release of Quaranta. He spoke publicly on his struggles to get the album released multiple times in various episodes of his podcast.

What do you think of Danny Brown having to give songwriting credits to Jay-Z and Kanye West for “Dip?” Are you surprised he makes almost no money off of one of his biggest songs? Let us know in the comment section below.

DaBaby Goes Scorched Earth On YouTuber Who Accused Rapper Of Stealing $20K

DaBaby is currently in a battle with a YouTuber named Lah Mike. Overall, this is all because of a 20 vs 1 video that the rapper made with him. As the story goes, Mike paid DaBaby $20K for the video. However, he claims that DaBaby ended up running off with the cash. “DaBaby ran of [sic] with 20K I paid him for a video… Please don’t scam me bro. This is my livelihood,” the YouTuber said on Instagram. “I don’t even have a full video. I’ll fix whatever you need, bro. Please come finish the video… Please don’t fuck me over.”

The rapper was not happy with that assertion, claiming that he only walked off of the set because of a situation that went down. The YouTuber went on to say that his own grandmother who has cancer fronted him the money because she wanted to see the video before passing. In a response, DaBaby went off on Mike, claiming that using his grandmother for sympathy is ridiculous.

Tyler The Creator Admits He Used To Hate Childish Gambino

Tyler The Creator was easily one of the standout sets at Coachella’s Weekend One this year, continuing to cement his status as one of the best live performers working today. Not only did he have an amazing stage set-up and theatrics, plus a really well-rounded setlist and consistently quality performances, but he invited a couple of his famous friends to help him out. Charlie Wilson sang as the Hawthorne native played piano, Kali Uchis came out to give a gorgeous rendition of their hit “See You Again,” and A$AP Rocky turned the crowd up with ease. However, the most surprising guest of the night was Donald Glover, also known as Childish Gambino. He came out to perform T’s IGOR gem “RUNNING OUT OF TIME” alongside him, and they seemed to have an absolute blast together.

The reason why this was so surprising is because they have relatively few link-ups in the past, and the former Odd Future creative explained that he wasn’t always a fan of Mr. Glover. “I used to hate that n***a,” Tyler, The Creator told the crowd after Childish Gambino left the stage. “Seriously. I don’t know why. I gotta go to therapy to figure it out. Then this n***a put this song called ‘Urn’ out. It was so undeniable, n***a. I was at conflict with myself, ’cause I’m like, ‘F**k! How could a n***a that I hate so much be so good?’ And now, the tables have turned and this n***a barely returns my calls.

“Donald, I f**k with you,” Tyler, The Creator continued for Donald Glover. “Thank you for putting out s**t that exceeds expectations or the perception that n***as like us should make. I love you. Thank you for existing and thank you for coming out. Please give him another round of applause.” For those unaware, their relationship has become more public and amicable over the past few years. Their Regular Show rap battle during the Cartoon Network program’s third season, though, premiered in 2011, which is before “Urn” dropped and thus before Tyler’s epiphany.

Tyler Reflects On His Relationship With Donald Glover

Nevertheless, the cover image above is from a 2019 LACMA gala, Glover seemed to mention the “SORRY NOT SORRY” MC during a recent Complex interview, and he also attended the Louis Vuitton designer’s event launching his collection this year. Obviously, a lot of fans are begging for music from them, and with a Gambino rollout commencing, we’ll see whether it manifests.
