Diddy Doubles Down On His Call For “Love” With His Latest Message To Fans

Last week, Diddy’s continued social media use was called into question by many fans. The rap mogul is in the middle of months of increasingly pressing legal trauma. It began last year with a lawsuit filed by Cassie alleging abusive behavior. Though it was quickly settled, that set the tone for the months since. He’s faced numerous new lawsuits since then including one particularly viral filing by producer Lil Rod. More treacherously though, two of his properties were raided by the federal government as part of an ongoing investigation into alleged sex trafficking.

Throughout all of it, he’s occasionally posted to Instagram basically as if nothing else is going on. Sometimes that’s promoting something he’s working on and other times its simply a life update. Last week he shared a video that seemed to ask fans why they were hating on him and imploring them to spread more love. That seems to be the theme at the core of his newest post as well. It’s a minimal affair with a caption that simply reads “LOVE” with a few emojis. The picture itself is simply plain black text that reads “time tells truth.” The message seems to be an attempt on the rap mogul’s part to claim that he’s innocent and that the truth about the allegations surrounding him will be revealed in time. Check out the newest post he made below.

Diddy Claims That Time Will Tell The Truth

Surprisingly Diddy kept his comments on for his newest Instagram post and fans reacted exactly how you’d expect them to. “You’re definitely gonna serve some time I can tell you that” one of the top comments on the post jokes. “yeah that’s why you in trouble now” another fan agrees.

What do you think of Diddy’s newest Instagram post seemingly proclaiming his innocence in the face of allegations of decades of bad behavior? Do you think he should take a step back from Instagram until all of his legal matters are sorted out? Let us know in the comment section below.

Gunna Is An International Player In His ‘Whatsapp (Wassam)’ Video

In the video for his One Of Wun single “Whatsapp (Wassam),” Gunna makes international moves via video call as he jetsets all over, staying in contact with his friends, fans, and business partners all along. It seems that despite his misfortunes and setbacks in recent years, the message is that he’s still on top of his game and unstoppable as long as his contact list is full of people who pick up at a moment’s notice.

Ahead of the release of the album, fans speculated whether Gunna would take issue with Future, only to be stunned when he apparently shifted gears to take potshots at the reeling Drake. Nav Is ‘On My Way 2 Rexdale’ On His Upcoming Album, Out This Summer

Cheer up, Toronto. It’s not all bad news. While Drake licks his wounds, another of T. Dot’s favorite sons, Nav, has announced his new album, On My Way 2 Rexdale, is… well … on the way. The XO signee announced the impending release with a dramatic trailer, which promises a summer 2024 release date and features teases of the album’s featured guests through some suggestive imagery. It’s like a scavenger hunt for clues, from weathered skulls wearing bat-ear hats to looming cactuses and slithering snakes.

Nav has been off the radar for almost a year, ever since completing his Never Sleep Tour and livestreaming his hometown show in Toronto. While he joined Metro Boomin at the producer’s Red Bull Symphonic performance in Los Angeles, he has stayed out of the spotlight while working on On My Way 2 Rexdale, which follows his fourth album, Demons Protected By Angels, released a little under two years ago in September 2022.

That album had guest features from Lil Uzi Vert, Travis Scott, and Gunna, and the imagery from the trailer suggests that they might all be back to help Nav kick off his next era. You can try and decipher the clues in the video above, or just wait ’til summer — which is only about a month away — to find out.

Chief Keef “Almighty So 2”: The 7 Best Beats

Since Chief Keef released Almighty So in 2013, fans have wanted more. While the rapper has dropped many projects since then, they just weren’t a continuation of the beloved mixtape. However, in May 2024, over a decade after Almighty So, he finally released the highly anticipated Almighty So 2. The album contains lots of sick beats, and stellar performances from Chief Keef, so it’s no surprise fans are loving it.

It’s been a long time coming, and now that it’s finally here — with a tour on the way, as well — it’s an almost surreal experience for many listeners. Chief Keef, with the help of his collaborators, has delivered a memorable album that lives up to high expectations. Almighty So 2 is filled with fire tracks that are brought to life by Keef’s performance, and impeccable production handled by the Chicago star himself. Here are the seven best beats on the new studio album by Chief Keef.

7. “Too Trim”

Track 6 on Almighty So 2, “Too Trim” is easily among the songs with the best beats on the album. The track was produced by Chief Keef and Young Malcolm and sees both producers leaving nothing on the floor. It has all the elements of a great drill record, and then some. Undoubtedly, it is one of the most menacing beats on the project. All its many elements come together nicely to evoke an unsettling, yet exciting feeling. To his credit, Chief Keef rarely ever misses on tough beats and that’s certainly the case on “Too Trim.”

6. “I’m Tryna Sleep”

Almighty So 2 is a 16-track album, and “I’m Tryna Sleep” is the very last song on the body of work. Although it’s the album’s closing track, it certainly packs one of the hardest punches on Almighty So 2. The track is solely produced by Chief Keef, who equally delivers a grand performance on what is undoubtedly one of the album’s hardest beats. The rapper cooked with the beat, and then, ate it up with his bars and aggressive delivery. “I’m Tryna Sleep” opens with soothing keys. However, do not be fooled, because just a few seconds in, it switches up and catches you off guard. It is a masterclass in drill.

5. “Jesus” (ft. Lil Gnar)

Another track that starts off misleadingly, “Jesus” has a hypnotic guitar melody that’s the center of attention within the first minute. However, a few seconds before the one-minute mark, it transitions into a dramatic drill beat. This track was produced by Chief Keef, Mike WiLL Made It, and Shawn Ferrari. Without a doubt, it is one of the best beats Chief Keef raps on throughout Almighty So 2. Both Keef and Lil Gnar bring the heat on this track, especially after that sick beat switch.

4. “Banded Up” (Ft. Tierra Whack)

“Banded Up” is the eighth song on the tracklist of Almighty So 2. Featuring the eclectic Tierra Whack, it is one of the standout tracks in a sea of great songs. Both performers deliver excellently, aided by production that fits snugly around their bars. Solely produced by Chief Keef, “Banded Up” easily ranks among the absolute best beats on Almighty So 2.

3. “1,2,3”

This track contains one of eight beats solely produced by Chief Keef on Almighty So 2. It is also definitely among the hardest of them all. Chief Keef did his thing on this song, with both the rapping and the production. All the original elements he put together while cooking the beat come together very nicely. However, what makes the beat even better is the sampled tracks it incorporates. “1,2,3” contains samples from two tracks, “And I Love Her” by Bobby Womack, and “Land of a Thousand Dances” by Wilson Pickett. Altogether, these elements, original and borrowed, make one of the standout tracks on the album.

2. “Neph Nem” (ft. Ballout & G Herbo)

From the very first second of “Neph Nem,” you can already tell it’ll be a banger. The cinematic quality of the keys and drums that open the song prepares listeners for the rest of the beat. When the remaining elements of the beat come in before the 30-second mark, it’s glorious. This is another one of the eight beats Chief Keef produces solely by himself on the album. On “Neph Nem,” he lays it all out on the floor, and unsurprisingly, the performers don’t disappoint either. Ballout and G Herbo’s contributions to the song help make it an undisputed highlight on Almighty So 2.

1. “Runner”

Opening with the soulful voice of Nancy Wilson, this track leaves an immediate impression on listeners. It enchants and disarms you, leaving you totally unprepared for the heavy beat drop that follows. This is arguably the best of all the beats Chief Keef produced on this album. From the 808s to the sublime keys, to the hi-hats, this beat has a lot going on. However, it all melds together without a problem. Additionally, it samples “Streetrunner” by Nancy Wilson. Her vocals are laced throughout the track at specific points, giving the song some extra sauce.

Cardi B Seemingly Reveals Sobering Update On Her New Album

Back in 2023, fans were finally hoping for Cardi B’s long-awaited second studio album. Her debut Invasion of Privacy dropped back in 2018 and contained absolute smash hits like “I Like It,” “Bodak Yellow,” and “Bartier Cardi.” The follow-up seemed like it could be on the way soon when a mysterious Instagram account popped up seeming to tease the album. But months went by with no new material aside from a featured verse here and there. Eventually Cardi confirmed to her fans that no new album was dropping in 2023.

This year was very different right out of the gate. Cardi has already dropped two singles of her own in 2024 “Like What (Freestyle” and “Enough (Miami).” The latter has over 30 million streams on Spotify alone and has been hovering on the Hot 100 ever since it dropped back in March. That had fans hyped for a forthcoming project, one that many assumed would be arriving this year. But in a recent tweet Cardi may have revealed that 2024 also won’t be the year her follow-up finally drops. Check out what she had to say about an upcoming new album below.

Cardi B Seemingly Delays Her New Album

The interactions began when a fan suggested that Cardi could take some time away from social media as her interactions with fans aren’t being appreciated enough. The rapper seems to agree and in a now deleted quote tweet dropped some tough news for fans. “anyway NO new album this year I don’t care I’m relaxing this year” she said in the middle of a post that also addressed her fan interactions and upcoming features. That means fans who have been holding out for 8 years may have to hold on even longer to hear a new project from Cardi.

What do you think of Cardi B deciding to take the rest of 2024 off from putting out a new album and delaying it until next year? Do you think the decision was entirely her own or had to do with her label? Let us know in the comment section below.

Ghostface Killah “Set The Tone (Guns & Roses)” Review

Ghostface Killah is an iconic MC who truly requires no introduction. The rap legend has been churning out high-quality releases for over three decades, both as a solo artist and as a member of the Wu-Tang Clan. His latest effort, Set the Tone (Guns & Roses) released on May 10, features a wide array of rap industry icons. The record touts guest appearances from the likes of Method Man, Nas, Kanye West, Busta Rhymes, and more. Set the Tone (Guns & Roses) marks Ghostface Killah’s return with his first full-length album since 2019’s Ghostface Killahs, providing nearly five full years of new experiences for the artist to cover. Let’s dive into the project and review the material therein.

The Album Starts Off Strong

Ghostface Killah kicks off Set the Tone with the explosive track “6 Minutes,” offering rap verses with Ghost’s trademark brash delivery. The track features guest vocals from Jim Jones, Sheek Louch, and Harl3y, each blending perfectly with Ghost’s grimy East Coast flavor. The second track on the album, “Pair of Hammers,” is handily the best song on the entire project, as Ghost and Method Man exchange lyrical haymakers in a showing of pure Wu-Tang chemistry. Be sure to pack a spare pair of headphones when listening to this song because Method Man’s delivery of “I tell her ‘La-Di-Da-Di’ like I’m Rick / We jammin’ in the party, Bob Marley with the spliff / Black Bugatti with the shift / Look at Johnny, I’m blazin’, got an army, not a clique,” may leave your earbuds smoking.

“Skate Odyssey” continues this high-energy trend with a smooth, jazzy beat and a soulful sung chorus from October London. You wouldn’t normally expect this jazz-inspired vibe to fit well with Ghostface Killah’s in-your-face delivery, but the track manages to achieve perfect harmony with the juxtaposition. Raekwon appears for a brief feature on the back end, proving once again that Ghost works best alongside his Wu affiliates.

Set The Tone Begins To Lose Steam Halfway Through

While some tracks manage to maintain interest, such as “Scar Tissue” with Nas and “No Face” with Kanye, Set the Tone (Guns & Roses) begins to falter at the halfway mark. The album runs 19 tracks over the course of 52 minutes, with a solid amount of filler padding out the back end. Tracks such as “Kilo in the Safe,” “Cape Fear,” and “Locked In” are completely forgettable and frankly should have been left on the cutting room floor. Ghostface Killah also chose to cram a handful of pointless skits into the mix, which sees him speaking about cereal, flirting with a woman over the phone, and roasting his friends on a video call.

While Ghostface Killah does experiment with different sounds on a few tracks, many of them come off as bland and unfinished. Such is the case for the Reggae-inspired “Champion Sound,” which features Beniton singing in patois, or the Caribbean dance-inspired “Shots” with Busta Rhymes. While these tracks aren’t the lowest point on the album, they are mostly forgettable, with Ghost failing to bring enough energy to keep listeners attentive.

There Are Some Major Low Points

Despite Ghost’s best efforts, he throws some serious duds into the mix here, with tracks like “Bad B****” and “Touch You” offering absolutely no value to listeners. The latter track is a misguided love and sex ballad that makes the baffling decision to heavily interpolate Mario’s 2004 hit “Let Me Love You.” However, the absolute lowest moments on this record come from the songs “Plan B” and “Trap Phone.”

“Plan B” is an absolutely repugnant song that painstakingly lays out a narrative of Ghostface Killah cheating on his spouse and forcing his lustful affair to take a Plan B pill so as not to disrupt his existing family. All of this is punctuated with thousands of layers of obnoxious autotune. This track isn’t even worth listening to out of morbid curiosity. Furthermore, “Trap Phone” isn’t even really a Ghostface song at all, as Chucky HollyWood takes the lead for about 80 percent of the runtime, with a completely unlistenable whining autotune effect that sounds like he let a child loose in the studio to play with the vocal effect knobs.

Conclusion

Ghostface Killah does manage to recoup some interest in the final moments of Set the Tone (Guns & Roses) with an energetic final track titled “Yupp!” with Remy Ma. This song might have had a shot at bringing the vibe back, but it’s just too little too late after combing through some of the missteps. While the album does have some major high points, especially in the first handful of tracks, it falls flat overall.
