Mase Accuses Diddy Of Tampering With His Lovers & Friends Festival Set

Mase’s set at Lovers & Friends Festival this past Saturday (May 14) should have been a special moment for both him and the Las Vegas attendees. Sadly, the sound system had other plans as he had technical difficulties throughout his performance, culminating in the sound being completely cut off for around ten minutes after he tried to perform the 1997 classic record “Mo Money Mo Problems” also featuring The Notorious B.I.G and Diddy. Mase seems to believe it was no accident, blaming the latter for coordinating the blunder.

The New York rapper told the crowd “I see what’s going on. I’m used to being hated on. I’m used to what’s going on. Somebody, somewhere paid a few dollars to stop my show. But that can’t stop somebody like me. I don’t get ran away too easy. I just wasn’t ready for that, so I’m gonna take my time.” He continued with “Thank you Puff, you know he paid for that right? I got you n****. I heard you loud and clear.”

Mase has been very public with his disdain for Diddy over the years, citing discrepancies with the amount of money he’s been paid for publishing and going as far as to say the Bad Boy founder has been capitalizing on the death of Biggie for selfish monetary gain. Diddy hasn’t commented on the matter yet as he was busy with the 2022 Billboard Music Awards.

Moneybagg Yo And Kodak Black Reflect On Hard Times In Their ‘Rocky Road’ Video

Moneybagg Yo and Kodak Black maintain a consistent presence in music, and their latest reminder of such comes in the new “Rocky Road” song and video. The visual, directed by Young Chang, shows the two rappers standing atop beaten up homes spitting about all they’ve seen in their lives. There are cutscenes of fights, gambling, and a child’s hair being done to fully capture what often occurs in the neighborhoods they frequent. Despite their success, they cannot forget their come up and what they still experience to this day.

“Rocky Road” comes on the heels of Kodak Black’s February release of Back For Everything. Moneybagg Yo is still riding the wave of his 2021 album A Gangsta’s Pain, which debuted No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart with successful singles “Wockesha” and “Hard For The Next” featuring Future.

This isn’t the first collaboration between Moneybagg Yo and Kodak Black, as they both appeared on Yung Bleu’s “Angels Never Cry” as well as “Lower Level” from Moneybagg’s 2018 album Reset. Kodak recently appeared on Kendrick Lamar’s album Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers with both a feature and some sparse interludes, a major look for the young artist whose career has been nothing short of controversial.

Jack Harlow’s ‘First Class’ Returns To No. 1 On The ‘Billboard’ Hot 100 Chart For A Second Week

About a month ago, Jack Harlow had a career highlight when “First Class” became his second No. 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. In the weeks since, it appeared it would be one-week-and-done for “First Class,” as Harry Styles’ “As It Was” knocked it off the top. After an additional week at No. 1 for Styles, Future, Drake, and Tems were No. 1 last week with “Wait For U.” Now, though, after weeks away from the top, “First Class” is back, as it’s once again No. 1 on the new Hot 100 chart dated May 21.

It was a major week for Bad Bunny, too, who has four songs in this week’s top 10 thanks to his new album, Un Verano Sin Ti, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. “Moscow Mule,” “Tití Me Preguntó,” and “Después De La Playa” occupy spots 4, 5, and 6, respectively, while Bad Bunny and Chencho Corleone’s “Me Porta Bonito” is No. 10.

Meanwhile, Lizzo’s “About Damn Time” rose from No. 19 to No. 9 this week, making it her fourth top-10 single after “Truth Hurts” (a former No. 1), “Good As Hell,” and the Cardi B collaboration “Rumors.”

Lil Wayne And Snoop Dogg Are Working With Tiffany Haddish On Her New Music

Tiffany Haddish is already a well-established actress, comedian, and now, author, but soon, she is looking to take over the music world as well. The star has been spotted in the studio with other veteran stars like Lil Wayne and Snoop Dogg. In a new interview with TMZ to discuss her children’s book, Layla, the Last Black Unicorn, she also discussed her plans for her music, which she says she originally wanted to only put in her movie projects until she found that sync licensing for previously released music is much more lucrative.

When the show’s hosts asked about whether or not Haddish has been able to work with Beyonce, she played “coy,” as they described. “We’ll see what God has in store,” she replied. “That would be amazing, wouldn’t it?” She admitted that she “would love” to do a song with Beyonce, but since she’s “only seen her at parties,” don’t hold your breath for a T-Haddish featuring Beyonce track anytime soon. Predicting her music’s release, she said, “My goal is to make the music and put it in my movies and TV shows… if I put my music in it, I’m in it… but I just heard yesterday that if I release the music on the airwaves — put it out there for purchase — then when I put it in my show they gotta pay me like $35,000 or something like that. I guess I’m a drop that sh*t today!” However, she did admit she didn’t want to compete with Kendrick Lamar, who just released his new album Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers.

Portola Music Festival’s Loaded Inaugural Lineup Features Flume, MIA, And Jamie xx

Just when you thought that we had enough music festivals announced for 2022, San Francisco’s brand new Portola Music Festival has splashed onto the circuit with an incredibly diverse lineup of marquee electronic-leaning dance, pop, and hip-hop crossover acts. This is a seriously stacked lineup with big names at the top like Flume, The Chemical Brothers, Jamie xx, and a #rare performance from MIA.

Pier 80 is the grounds for the inaugural edition of the Goldenvoice-produced two-day festival on September 24th and 25th. Also appearing on the very well-curated bill are acts like Kaytranada, Jungle, Charli XCX, The Avalanches, Caribou, Toro y Moi, James Blake, Four Tet + Floating Points, Caroline Polachek, PinkPantheress, DJ Shadow, Lane 8, Yaeji, Slowthai, The Blessed Madonna, Justin Martin, and more. While late to the party, this is a legit unbelievable lineup.

And while the festival takes place nowhere near San Francisco’s Garden District known as the “Portola,” it’s actually named after the short-lived Portola Festival of 1909, which celebrated San Francisco’s re-opening following the great fire of 1906. Back then, the festival was built around a parade down Market Street. It then disappeared in 1913 for 35 years before re-establishing itself as a series of Mardi Gras-style parades in 1948, and then fading into the abyss in 1950. Now we have a full-on dance party in a refurbished warehouse and tents on a historic pier. Sure.

Check out the lineup poster below and tickets go on sale on Friday, May 20th, here.

Masked Wolf Is Thankful That His First Performance Was Opening For An EDM DJ

2021 was kind to Masked Wolf, as the Australian rapper saw his 2019 single “Astronaut In The Ocean” experience newfound popularity and shoot up the charts around the world, including in the US where it was a top-10 song.

Like many artists before him, traveling and performing was a major part of the rapper’s come-up. So now, Masked Wolf looks back and reflects on some of those experiences for “Stories From The Road,” a video series presented by Songkick and NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration).

He spends part of the video explaining why supporting an EDM DJ in a small Sydney, Australia club was an ideal first live performance, saying, “I was crapping myself; I was so scared, I was anxious. And these people just danced to anything. I was doing ‘Vibin” and [they] had never heard it before and they were just enjoying life. And I was just like, ‘Man, I hope my performances, all of them, are like this.’ People were just vibing to any song and just enjoying their night.”

He also talks about his dream tour destinations and the moments that make him think he’s “made it,” so check out the video above.

Megan Thee Stallion Makes Her BBMA Debut With Performances Of ‘Plan B’ and ‘Sweetest Pie’

Megan Thee Stallion delivered another reminder that her knees were created in a laboratory in her performance debut at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards. The Houston artist graced the stage sporting a thong bodysuit and lace-up boots with an initial solo rendition of “Plan B” before her backup dancers joined the fun. She then transitioned into “Sweetest Pie” sans co-star Dua Lipa.

The 27-year-old walked away from the night with the Top Rap Female Artist award, a form of recognition she’s already familiar with having won it at the 2020 BBMAs. She also previously won the 2019 Billboard Women In Music Powerhouse award.

Megan Thee Stallion has been riding a huge wave of momentum over the years, seeing much success due to collaborations with Cardi B (“WAP”), Beyonce (“Savage Remix”), and Nicki Minaj (“Hot Girl Summer”). She’s taken home a Grammy at each of the last three shows and set Guinness World Records for being the first Female Lead Rapper to win Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance. She last released Something For Thee Hotties back in October 2021, following up her debut album Good News in November 2020. Revlon and Essence took to Twitter to salute Megan for her 2022 BBMAs victory, which likely will not be her last.

Latto Gives A Blowout Performance Of ‘Big Energy’ At The 2022 Billboard Music Awards

Earlier this year, Latto admitted that Cardi B’s 2018 Coachella performance inspired her to improve her own live show, and last night at the Billboard Music Awards, she put what she learned to good use with a blowout, exuberant performance of her own massive hit, “Big Energy.” Flanked by a fleet of dancers and backed by a soaring live band, Latto gave the BBMAs a taste of the charismatic, explosive performances she recently showed off on her first-ever headlining tour.

The single, which kicked off the promotion for her new album, 777, has become her biggest hit to date. In April, “Big Energy” peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart propelled by a sample of Mariah Carey’s 1995 single “Fantasy.” Latto tapped Carey herself for the song’s remix, furthering its reach, and along with singles like “Soufside” and “Wheelie,” “Big Energy” helped push 777 to a top-20 debut on the Billboard 200.

Those accomplishments didn’t go unnoticed. Although Latto wasn’t nominated for any awards at last night’s ceremony, her showstopping performance will undoubtedly result in an invitation to come back — and the success of 777 will almost certainly warrant a nomination if she keeps the momentum going until next year.
