Nicki Minaj‘s Pink Friday 2 still has the Barbz in a frenzy. While much of her fanbase is satisfied with her fifth studio album, Minaj always manages to leave the Barbz wanting more.

During her appearance on Watch What Happens Live, the rapper revealed that her long-awaited six-part documentary is finally on the way.

“It is absolutely still coming,” she said. “I wouldn’t have wanted it to come out right now because it would’ve taken time away from them really listening to the music. Now that they’ve digested the music, the documentary will be a different level of emotional rollercoaster. I’m sharing stuff that probably no one would expect me to share.”

The docuseries was first announced in 2020, and was set to premiere on HBO Max. However, last summer, Minaj shared a teaser for the documentary, and indicated that she was now on the search for a new distributor.

Though Minaj didn’t share which platform the documentary will arrive on, she did tease a tentative date. And if it all goes her way, fans may be able to see the documentary sooner rather than later.

“Because the tour starts in March, I would want the documentary out prior to March,” Minaj said.

Nicki Minaj Accuses Billboard Of Threatening To Take Away “Pink Friday 2” Sales

Recently, Nicki Minaj took to X to announce that she’d be giving some of the Barbz an opportunity to select songs to appear on the deluxe edition of Pink Friday 2. Per the terms of the contest, she asked them to provide proof that they purchased all four versions of the album either digitally or on vinyl. She quickly let them know, however, that Billboard tried to put the kibosh on her contest, threatening to take away some of her album sales for requesting proof of purchase.

“Been discussing my 100 barbz contest for months,” she wrote. “They said billboard reached out to say they gon take away sales for me telling y’all about the 100 barbz thing. Can’t wait until these next 6 hours are up so I can tell y’all some sh*t. You can give out millions in cashapp money tho. Lol. So barbz, me asking you to show PROOF of something that was already DELIVERED OR PURCHASED IS AGAINST THE RULES. SO pls disregard. Apologies.”

Nicki Minaj Puts Billboard On Blast

Nicki went on to tell her fans not to buy or stream the album anymore, accusing Billboard and other companies of trying to “bring her down.” She noted how other artists have done similar contests with no consequences, and claims that they’re targeting her in particular. “They changed all those other rules specifically for me yet their own ‘ppl’ are the ones suffering from it & will CONTINUE to,” she said in a subsequent Tweet. “I don’t need any validation. Album is phenomenal & my fans as well as others love it. But they’re soooooooooo angry they couldn’t stop me.”

Regardless, it doesn’t look like Nicki’s letting the debacle get her down, as she went on to let everyone know she isn’t worried about sales. “Threatening me…like what? Huh?” she wrote. “You don’t scare me. Take away all the sales y’all want. I’ve never not ended up feeling sorry for my enemies. Read that line again. God is in control.” What do you think of Nicki Minaj calling out Billboard for allegedly threatening to take away Pink Friday 2 sales over her contest? Nicki Minaj Said ‘Billboard’ Is Trying To Discredit Her Sales With New Rules Following A Successful Fan Contest

Nicki Minaj‘s fifth studio album Pink Friday 2 has proven to be a hit among fans. In the week since its release, songs from the album have dominated the streaming and iTunes charts. Additionally, Minaj’s dedicated fanbase, the Barbz, have taken to social media to show off their vinyl and CD editions of the album. Many fans are anticipating that the album will reach No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

However, it looks like some last-minute changes to the rules may affect her rankings. Today (December 13), Minaj took to Twitter to express her frustrations with Billboard, claiming they are not going to count 100,000 of the physical edition sales, as the “Big Difference” rapper held a contest requiring Barbz to show proof that they purchased four editions of the album. Following the contest, she would select 100 Barbz to join her in the studio one day.

“been discussing my 100 barbz contest for months,” said Minaj. “They said billboard reached out to say they gon take away sales for me telling y’all about the 100 barbz thing.”

She continued, hinting that she would reveal more news within the next few hours.

In a follow up post, Minaj shared that the album has reached 300,000 units sold in physical and streaming equivalents, however, Billboard allegedly won’t include 100,000 of those sales.

“It’s at 300 but once they filter out 100K, you’ll be none the fkng wiser,” said Minaj.

She continued expressing her frustrations, saying, “I’m being punished for: Not signing a 360; Making great music; Having great fans; And for not leaving the game so that their new Nicki’s (who signed 360 deals) can be propped up to look as tho they are a lot more successful than they rlly are.”

Earlier this week, Minaj revealed the dates for the highly-anticipated Pink Friday 2 World Tour which will kick off early next year.

Dr. Dre Pays Tribute To Radio Station That Gave Him His Start On Their Anniversary

Everybody has to start somewhere. That includes one of the most influential rappers, producers, and moguls in the genre’s storied history. Dr. Dre began his career as a radio DJ for a Los Angeles station called KDAY which is now known as KBLA. Despite all the success he’s achieved since and the hundreds of thousands of fellow artists he’s interacted with along the way. he still remembered the station and wished them well as they celebrated their 40th anniversary.

In a video shared to Instagram by Xzibit, Dre reminisces on his time at the station. “I have so many reasons to thank KDAY, but I’ll just give you a couple of them right now. KDAY was the first station that gave me an opportunity when I was a young and up-and-coming DJ. They gave me my own radio show, which was called The Traffic Jam, and I showed up every weekday at 5 o’clock, and every artist out there knows what this is like … the first time you hear your sh*t on the radio — the feeling is amazing, Dre explained. “Not only that, KDAY was the first station to play the first song I ever produced on my own, which was ‘Boyz-N-The-Hood,’ so I can’t thank them enough. So I’d like to say happy 40th anniversary, KDAY, and I really, really appreciate this honor.

Even after decades of recording and releasing material, Dr. Dre isn’t slowing down yet. Just last month Marsha Ambrosius shared an update on an album Dre is producing with her. During the recent Soul Train Awards she hit fans with a tease of the new album produced by Dre.

The last time Dr. Dre released an album of his own was all the way back in 2015. While rumors of him potentially working on new material have swirled for years, very little ever officially materialized. He’s also reportedly mused on retiring from music altogether. Thankfully for fans though, that doesn’t appear to be happening any time soon. What do you think of Dr. Dre’s thank you message to the radio station that played a pivotal role in his come-up? Let us know in the comment section below.

Are Naomi Osaka & Cordae Still Together?

In a new interview with InStyle magazine, tennis star Naomi Osaka goes in-depth about motherhood, offering some insight into parenting and the adjustments she’s made since the birth of her daughter Shai with rapper Cordae. The interview comes about two months after breakup rumors emerged online in the wake of what some interpreted as some suggestive posts. InStyle‘s interview focuses mainly on the changes to Naomi’s life and only mentions Cordae three times, so fans looking for more info might still have some questions.

Are Naomi Osaka & Cordae Still Together?

According to E! the rumors of the couple’s breakup first surfaced in October, after Osaka deleted or archived every photo featuring Cordae on Instagram and apparently unfollowed him to boot. Instagram Story updates like “I just want someone that will watch the sunset with me” were interpreted by some fans as subtle admissions of a split, just a few months removed from Shai’s birth. At around the same time, Cordae released his single “Make Up Your Mind” with a music video depicting a complicated relationship.

Whatever their dating status at the very least, it sounds like they’re still on good terms, if not technically together (although InStyle‘s story still describes Cordae as Osaka’s boyfriend in the intro). All Naomi tells InStyle about Cordae is that they’ve “built a really good foundation” for co-parenting, adding, “I don’t know if it’s because he’s just an easygoing guy, but I think we just respect each other’s opinions. And if we disagree on something, we talk it out. At the end of the day, we both want what’s best for Shai.” So, until either comes out and just says it, there’s still no real answer, but it’s good to hear that their baby has a loving home, either way.

Benny The Butcher “Everybody Can’t Go”: What We Know About His Def Jam Debut

The Griselda roster has remained busy this year, with major releases from Westside Gunn and Conway The Machine. However, Benny The Butcher has been musically silent for the most part. The Buffalo lyricist is gearing up for the release of his next album, Everybody Can’t Go, which officially drops on January 26, 2024. One of the most anticipated hip-hop albums of the new year, Benny’s next project will mark his major label debut for Def Jam. While Shady Records and Interscope handled the 2019 release of Griselda’s WWCD album, Benny never actually signed to the Eminem-led imprint. As we patiently await the release of Everybody Can’t Go, here is what we know so far about Benny The Butcher’s Def Jam debut.

Benny The Butcher’s Def Jam Debut

Benny The Butcher signed with Def Jam in 2021 under Snoop Dogg’s tutelage as a creative consultant for the label. Since then, the Griselda heavyweight did not drop any music under the label in the following years. His previous album, 2022’s Tana Talk 4 was released via Griselda Records and Empire Distribution, featuring the gold-certified and J. Cole-assisted “Johnny P’s Caddy.” During an appearance on Rap Radar, Benny explained the meaning behind the title of Everybody Can’t Go. “They not made like that. And you can’t dance to every song, you know what I’m saying? Everything is not for everybody. With new levels come new devils, and I want more. I want bigger for myself,” he said.

Everybody Can’t Go was initially announced back in April for an August 11th release date, but was subsequently delayed as clarified by Hit-Boy. Benny explained the setback, saying, “I wasn’t as ready as I thought I was. Just know when you hear my s**t it’s gonna be better than all this other s**t you’ve been hearing all year.” With the update, he still referred to Everybody Can’t Go as an album of the year contender. In October, Benny The Butcher thanked fans for their patience before sharing a countdown to the announcement of the album’s lead single.

Produced By Close Collaborators

The Alchemist and Hit-Boy entirely produce Benny The Butcher’s Def Jam debut, which comes as no surprise to hardcore Griselda fans. His musical history with both California producers runs deep. The Alchemist co-produced both Tana Talk 3 and Tana Talk 4 while Hit-Boy solely handled the production of 2020’s Burden Of Proof. During his update on Everybody Can’t Go, Hit-Boy told Elliott Wilson that he produced nine tracks on the album.

Benny told Rap Radar about his decision to only work with two producers. He cited The Alchemist and Hit-Boy as his “dream team” with whom he has been the most successful. “When it’s time to do this shit for the masses, I clicked them boys up together,” he said of them being the right fit for his major label debut. Benny also claimed that the album “will not be loaded with boom bap beats.” Benny expressed his intention of not allowing the traditional Griselda sound to artistically limit him and instead, “do things out of feeling.”

Everybody Can’t Go Is Already Sounding Promising

With Everybody Can’t Go around the corner, Benny The Butcher’s Def Jam debut is already sounding promising based on the two singles that he released. The Alchemist-produced lead single, “Big Dog” features a ferocious verse from Lil Wayne. Benny and Weezy had previously worked together on “Timeless” and “Russian Roulette.” They also recently collaborated on “Oprah & Gayle” from Wayne’s and 2 Chainz’s Welcome 2 Collegrove. The second and latest single from the album is “One Foot In,” produced by Hit-Boy and featuring Stove God Cooks. The Syracuse native and Griselda signee last worked with Benny on “Back 2x” from Tana Talk 4. While Benny has not yet shared an official tracklist, Everybody Can’t Go reportedly includes 12 songs.

In October, Benny The Butcher boldly claimed that his upcoming album will be the best hip hop album to be released on Def Jam since DMX’s iconic 1998 debut, It’s Dark and Hell is Hot. Setting the bar incredibly high for himself, he is clearly confident in his next full-length release. The new year is shaping up to be an exciting one for the Griselda roster. With Benny’s next album arriving shortly and a possible sequel to WWCD, 2024 seems exciting for fans of the label. Be sure to check back in with HotNewHipHop for the latest updates.

GloRilla Responds To Fabolous’ Criticism Of Women In Rap

During her recent interview with GQ, GloRilla responded to Fabolous’ take on women in rap, which he shared on social media over the summer. According to him, there are plenty of female MCs well-equipped with powerful stories, but they’re not necessarily promoted as much as they should be. He criticized the industry for pushing only one kind of female hip-hop when there’s plenty to choose from.

“Love hearing the female rappers talking some real sh*t,” Fabolous wrote in an Instagram Story. “Women are so strong, have so many stories and perspectives that we need to hear in pure form. No disrespect to any of the female rappers out, but I think there’s only one style of female rap/hip hop being promoted, programmed, and looked at as successful now.”

GloRilla’s Not Here For Fabolous’ Criticism

GloRilla was asked about his comments, rolling her eyes in response to the question. “What men rap about? Killing, f*cking, robbing, cars, money,” she said. “Females rapping about the same sh*t,” she added. “But guess what? We’re not killing. We’re not in gangs. We’re not robbing. That’s what men be doing. What we doing? We’re sitting pretty, we’re popping our sh*t, we’re hustling, we’re getting money. We f*ck, so we rap about what we do.” Clearly, the Memphis native wasn’t feeling his comments. She hasn’t let them deter her from staying busy, however, as she recently revealed that she’s working on multiple projects simultaneously.

“I’m always workin’ on some new work,” she told NFL City Life earlier this month. “I’m workin’ on a project right now. Two different projects.” According to her one of the projects is a collab, though she’s yet to announce who she’s working with on it. The other project is her debut album, which listeners can’t wait to hear. What do you think of GloRilla’s response to Fabolous’ criticism of women in rap? Do you agree with her take? K. Michelle Gets Into Passionate Debate About Interracial Dating On IG Live

During a recent Instagram Live, K. Michelle shared her thoughts on interracial dating. According to her, Black women should be able to date whoever they want without facing any sort of backlash for it. Not everyone featured in her Live agreed with her message, however. One man appeared, arguing that when Black men date outside of their race they get “crucified,” questioning why the same rule wouldn’t apply to Black women.

“Black women should be allowed to date outside of their race and date who they want. Right?” K. Michelle said before beginning to debate with the men around her. “Black women is standing on what they standing on,” she stated. “Black women got they own money. They don’t need to stand on your money business.

K. Michelle On Dating

This is far from the only debate K. Michelle’s gotten involved in as of late. Ahead of the release of Nicki Minaj’s new album Pink Friday 2, the personality shared some stories from the early days of both of their careers. According to her, Nicki’s “Buy A Heart” was originally supposed to land on a Meek Mill album, and she was going to be a featured artist on it. At that point, she wasn’t aware of Nicki’s romantic relationship with Meek.

“‘Buy A Heart’ was on a Meek Mill album, and Nicki Minaj’s mean a** took it from me,” she told the R&B Money podcast. “He played that record, it wasn’t on his album. I said, ‘Oh, you sleeping on this.’ So I got the record… I had never slept with Meek, none of that,” she added. “She wanted to take the record from me, and she said that he had to take back his chain from me.” What do you think of K. Michelle’s recent comments on interracial dating? Do you agree with her? Why or why not? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Drake Hits The Basketball And Tennis Courts While In Turks & Caicos

Drake has had a busy few months touring and releasing his new album For All The Dogs. He’s prepared to take off on even more shows with J. Cole next year but in the meantime, he’s enjoying some relaxation in Turks & Caicos. While he probably has spent some time relaxing and taking in good vibes, he also took the chance to hone in some of his basketball skills. In some pictures and videos he shared to Instagram he’s hitting the basketball and tennis courts with some friends.

“All that time you spent trying to convince your followers you’re a leader could have went to something much realer,” Drake captioned the post in his typical advisory fashion. Unsurprisingly, fellow celebs rushed to the comments to get their jabs in at the rap superstar. NLE Choppa quickly pulled up to challenge his skills with a comment that simply read “guard me.” Plenty of sports bettors also took to the comments to share the bets they would place on Drizzy in an actual basketball game. Check out the post and the variety of fan reactions to it below.

Drake Working On His Game

Getting some reps in on the basketball court isn’t what most fans are talking about from Drake’s Turks & Caicos trip. He sparked a rush of new dating rumors earlier this week when he and Camila Cabello were spotted together. The pair were enjoying their vacation time renting some jet skis and going for a ride together.

After the release of For All The Dogs, Drake claimed that he was planning on taking a hiatus from releasing new music for a while. Before embarking on the absence he made sure to drop one more collection of new songs for fans. Scary Hours 3 saw Drizzy doubling down on some beefs he started on For All The Dogs. The EP also helped the original album return back to the top of the Billboard 200 nearly a month after its original release. What do you think of Drake hitting the basketball court in a new video? Let us know in the comments section below.
