Kid Cudi, ASAP Rocky, And Playboi Carti Headline The Smoker’s Club Fest’s Unbelievable One-Day Lineup

Fancying itself a hip-hop and cannabis festival, The Smoker’s Club Fest is returning on April 30th for the first time since 2018. This year’s affair is going down at the Live Nation-operated Glen Helen Amphitheater in San Bernardino, CA and has Kid Cudi, ASAP Rocky, and Playboi Carti atop the bill. But it’s the rest of the lineup for the all-ages festival that’s really unbelievable, especially when you consider that it’s all going down in a single day.

Directly below the headliners are Schoolboy Q performing Oxymoron and Wiz Khalifa playing Kush & Orange Juice. They’re followed by 2 Chainz and Ferg, and a bit further down is Lupe Fiasco playing Food & Liquor. Again, this is all in one day?? There’s also Joey Badass, Flatbush Zombies, Danny Brown, Dom Kennedy, Larry June, Uproxx cover stars Wale and Rico Nasty, Earl Sweatshirt, Ab-Soul, Jay Rock, and we can go on, but check out the poster that the festival posted to their Instagram account today:

This is a pretty insane hip-hop lineup that could easily be spread apart across two or even three days. It’ll be interesting to see how they pull it off.

The Smoker’s Club festival goes down on 04/30 in San Bernardino, CA. Ticketing pre-sale begins on Monday 01/24 at 10am PST. You can sign up for the pre-sale code now here.

New Orleans Jazz Fest 2022 Is Returning With A Monster Lineup Featuring The Who And Foo Fighters

Since 1970, the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival has been a diverse reflection of music and culture in America. With over a dozen stages showcasing artists, chefs, and thinkers alike, the music and arts festival takes over the heart of New Orleans every year. Trouble is, it’s been a few years since the festival has been able to operate as both the 2020 and 2021 editions were cancelled because of conditions surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. But if there’s anything that New Orleans has proven over time, it’s that the spirit of the city can endure anything and she’ll be ready to host the newly announced monster slate of artists for the 2022 edition, from April 29th to May 8th.

Taking place across two weekends, the primary headliners include The Who, Stevie Nicks, Foo Fighters, Jimmy Buffet, Luke Combs, Lionel Richie, Erykah Badu, The Black Crowes, and Willie Nelson. And that just really scratches the surface of the literally hundreds of acts appearing at the fest this year. There’s a bevy of NOLA staples on the roster like Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Big Freedia, The Revivalists, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Tank & The Bangas, and The Dirty Dozen Brass Band. But there’s also notable acts from across the spectrum like Death Cab For Cutie, Norah Jones, Jason Isbell & 400 Unit, Ziggy Marley playing the songs of Bob Marley, and Kool & The Gang.

Noise Pop 2022 Brings Azealia Banks, Jeff Tweedy, Dorian Electra, And More To Their Stage

For more than 20 years, San Fransisco festival Noise Pop has become known for hosting early-career performances of popular musicians like The White Stripes, Modest Mouse, Joanna Newsom, The Flaming Lips, Death Cab For Cutie, and Grimes. Now ushering in their 29th year as a festival, Noise Pop once again returns in 2022, this time inviting headliners Azealia Banks, Jeff Tweedy, and Dorian Electra to their stage.

Noise Pop just unveiled their full 2022 lineup. Coachella 2022 Reportedly Confirms Ye, Harry Styles, And Billie Eilish As Headliners

By the time Coachella officially opens their gates to gleeful music lovers this spring, it will have been three years since the last time the Indio, California festival took place. As one of the more buzzworthy music events of the year, there had been much speculation about which performers organizers would book to headline the anticipated 2022 event. Rumors alleged that musicians like Billie Eilish and Ye would be invited to headline in addition to Swedish House Mafia, but fans weren’t sure who the fourth closing act would be. On Wednesday, Coachella organizers reportedly confirmed that, along with Billie Eilish, Ye, and Swedish House Mafia, Harry Styles will be invited to headline their 2022 iteration.

The report comes through Billboard, which claims to have received confirmation from a source at Coachella. Apparently, a poster was making the rounds on the internet which alleged headliners Ye, Eilish, Styles, and Swedish House Mafia.

It wouldn’t be the first time some of the musicians have taken the Coachella stage. Eilish performed music from her debut album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? at Coachella 2019. Meanwhile, Ye was invited to take over a nearby field to share an installment of his Sunday Service gospel event.

Coachella 2022 will once again take place over two weekends to accommodate for the massive number of music fans who hope to attend. It kicks off the weekend of April 15 to 17 and continues the next weekend, April 22 to 24. Tickets sold out pretty much as soon as they were made available, but fans can still join a waitlist in hopes of securing a ticket.

J. Cole, Tool, And Stevie Nicks Are Set To Headline Bonnaroo 2022

Many music festivals are plotting a triumphant return in 2022, and Bonnaroo is no different. The Tennessee festival announced they are slated to hold their 2022 event in late spring this year, and they’ve just shared a list of all the musicians fans can expect to see. J. Cole, Tool, and Stevie Nicks will headline the three-day festival alongside a number of eclectic artists.

Returning the weekend of June 16-19, 2022, Bonnaroo will once again take place on the Bonnaroo Farm, which is located just 60 miles southeast of Nashville in Manchester, TN. In press materials, the festival noted they’ve listened to fan feedback and will implement “an array of additional activities and site improvements,” including, wayfinding help, pedicabs for transportation, cooling stations, charging stations, and more.

Along with J. Cole, Tool, and Stevie Nicks performing as headliners, Bonaroo has booked artists like Roddy Ricch, The Chicks, Flume, 21 Savage, Machine Gun Kelly, Tinashe, Tierra Wack, Illenium, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, Disclosure, Lord Huron, The War On Drugs, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Goose, Bleachers, Isaiah Rashad, Slowthai, The Weather Station, Indigo De Souza, Jessie Murph, Arlo Parks, Claud, Fletcher, and more.

Billie Eilish Is Reportedly Coachella 2022’s Next Headliner After Travis Scott Was Allegedly Dropped

By the time Coachella music festival opens its gates in 2022, it will have been three years since the last time the event took place. Fans have been looking forward to the massive California festival for quite some time, which is why tickets to this year’s event have already sold-out despite their full lineup not being announced yet. What we do know is that Swedish House Mafia announced they will be one of the three headlining performers this year, and it looks like Billie Eilish might be the second confirmed headliner.

According to a report from TMZ, Eilish is signed on to perform at the festival in support of her 2021 album Happier Than Ever. If TMZ’s sources are correct, it would mark Eilish’s second time performing the festival following her 40-minute set in 2019.

News of Eilish’s potential headlining spot arrives following reports that Travis Scott was dropped from the 2022 lineup. Coachella’s canceled 2020 event was slated to have Frank Ocean, Rage Against The Machine, and Scott as headliners. Ocean has already confirmed he’ll play the festival in 2023 and RATM reportedly backed out of this year’s event, meaning Scott was presumably left as a headliner this year. But a recent report might prove otherwise. News outlet KESQ claimed Coachella organizer Goldenvoice dropped Scott from the bill following the Astroworld tragedy, which left several concertgoers dead and thousands of lawsuits filed against the rapper.

Tame Impala, Tyler The Creator, And Jack Harlow Are Set To Headline Forecastle Festival’s 2022 Lineup

Generally taking place in the thick of summer, the Lousiville, Kentucky-based Forecastle Festival will be going down over Memorial Day Weekend in 2022. Taking place at Louisville’s Waterfront Park, the long-running fest is noted for being on the edge of the Ohio River, but also offering sweeping views of the downtown skyline. Now coming into its 20th anniversary, Forecastle has always featured a stellar lineup to match its unique setting, and this year’s fest is no different.

Headliners for each of the three days day include Jack Harlow on Friday, Tame Impala on Saturday, and Tyler The Creator on Sunday. Joining them on the eclectic bill of top notch rock, electronic, and hip-hop acts, are Phoebe Bridgers, Porter Robinson, Earl Sweatshirt, Rüfüs Do Sol, Clairo, 6lack, Wale, Black Pumas, Still Woozy, and a lot more.

Besides going down on a new weekend this year, Forecastle is introducing a reshaped footprint. The Ocean Stage is now fully tented and located on the Wharf. The new-look site overall promises smoother transitions from stage to stage as attendees course through the grounds. Also keeping with year’s past, $3 of every weekend pass sold will benefit the Forecastle Foundation, which preserves and protects threatened ecosystems in Kentucky and beyond.

Tickets are available now via an SMS presale here and general on-sale begins this Thursday, January 6 at noon ET at the same link. Check out the full lineup poster below.

Goldenvoice Sues Live Nation For Copyright Infringement Over A New Festival Planned For New Year’s Eve

Many festivals plotted a return in either 2021 or 2022 after the pandemic effectively shut down large-scale events, but one festival in particular is facing some legal issues. No, it’s not because of their COVID policy. Rather, it’s because of their name. The upcoming event Coachella Day One 22 is slated to kick off in California on New Year’s Eve, but Live Nation is now being sued by the massive festival promotion company Goldenvoice. The reason? Well, the name “Coachella” has already been copyrighted.

As reported by Billboard and NME, Goldenvoice filed a lawsuit for trademark infringement against Live Nation earlier this week. Not only does the upcoming event use the name “Coachella,” but it is also set to take place just miles away from the official Coachella festival site in Indio, California. Live Nation is not acting as the festival organizer, but the actual Coachella Day One 22 organizers are a group of Native American tribe members who are immune from this type of legal action.

Goldenvoice’s lawsuit states that they sent two cease-and-desist letters to Live Nation after the company began selling and promoting the event’s tickets. The lawsuit asks the court to put a temporary order in place that would make it illegal for Live Nation to continue to advertise, promote, market, franchise, or sell any good or service in connection with the Coachella name.

Tyler The Creator And Tame Impala Are Headlining the Buku Music + Art Project

For a festival that dubs itself as “boutique,” Buku Music + Art Project has some pretty heavy-hitting names on its newly announced 10th-anniversary lineup. After a three-year hiatus, the New Orleans festival will be back along the banks of the Mississippi River in the Lower Garden District near the imposing defunct Market Street Power Plant from March 25th – 26th. So, about that lineup…

Tyler The Creator and Tame Impala are titanic headliners at the top of this one, but it doesn’t stop there. Arena-rockers Glass Animals and Colombian-American pop superstar Kali Uchis are joining them on the bill along with surging rappers Tierra Whack, Trippie Redd, and Baby Keem. There’s also a concerted effort to reflect electronic music and artists like Porter Robinson, Allison Wonderland, Lane 8, and Rezz lead a formidable slate. There’s also a focus on local New Orleans artists too from the hip-hop of Glbl Wrmng (who put out 0ne of our best sleeper albums of 2021), Neno Calvin, and 504icygrl, to the dubstep of Tvboo and sfam.

Buku prides itself on a “festival experience that proudly reflects the progressive, artistic, and diverse subculture of New Orleans.” The lineup is just one aspect of an event that features indoor and outdoor stages, art installations, pop-up breakdancing, live graffiti art, etc… Buku also partners with the Take Action project (TAP) to use the fest’s platform “to elevate awareness around issues of various social & environmental justice issues.” TAP and the music education nonprofit Upbeat Academy will receive a portion of proceeds from all tickets sales.

Buku Music + Art Project is from 03/25/2022 – 03/26/2022. Presale tickets go on sale 12/17/2021 and registration has begun here. Buku’s general on-sale begins on 12/20/2021 at the same link.
