Tyler The Creator Joins Cast Of New A24 Film Starring Timothee Chalamet

When Tyler The Creator released one of his fan favorites loosies, 2018’s “OKRA,” he might not have expected the following line to be so prophetic: “Tell Tim’ Chalamet to come get at me.” Moreover, news recently broke that the Hawthorne artist and Supreme trailblazer joined the cast of Marty Supreme, a new A24 film directed and co-written by Josh Safdie. The film centers around professional ping pong player Marty Reisman per Variety and also stars Gwyneth Paltrow and, wouldn’t you know it, Mr. Lisan al Gaib himself Timothee Chalamet. This marks Tyler’s feature film debut (not playing himself: thanks, Jackass Forever) after many self-directed music videos, film scoring/soundtracking, Loiter Squad skits, and other television collabs.

As far as other details surrounding Marty Supreme, Safdie will write the film alongside Uncut Gems co-writer Ronald Bernstein. They also produced the flick alongside Timothée Chalamet, A24, Anthony Katagas, and Eli Bush. Other than that, we don’t know much else about it at press time, but we’re definitely excited. We all know how passionate Tyler, The Creator can be about his artistic and creative endeavors. After all, he told Kanye West to stop using backing tracks at his shows and let people enjoy the performance right there in front of them.

Tyler, The Creator Will Become Tyler, The Actor

But this passion can often be misconstrued. For example, Tyler, The Creator’s recent criticisms about an unnamed white rapper (who many assumed to be Ian) caused much controversy and debate. Still, many understand where he’s coming from, even if they ran with the unconfirmed narrative that he’s talking about the Valedictorian. “You n***as got to do a little [more],” Joe Budden posited. “My famous people guard is up, y’all got to do a little more before I start running around saying ‘Ian.’ Who the f**k is Ian? Alright. Rest in peace Mac Miller, for sure, and couldn’t agree with him more on that point [about Mac and Eminem being more genuine]. I don’t know enough about Ian, but what I can say about Mac Miller, Russ, Eminem: they love this s**t.”

Meanwhile, Tyler The Creator recently walked back on his previous criticism of Eminem, showing that not all his takes last forever. As such, seeing the overreaction to his white rapper comments was at least entertaining, albeit nauseating at a certain point. Whatever the former Odd Future MC has for us on Marty Supreme, we’re sure it’ll be special… And maybe comes with a hot take or two for social media to blow out of proportion.

Jack Harlow Is Starring Alongside Matt Damon in New Apple TV+ Movie “The Instigators”

On August 9, Apple TV+ will launch The Instigators, a criminal comedy that takes a lighter approach to the heist genre. Starring in the next movie with Matt Damon and Casey Affleck are Jack Harlow as well. The action-packed trailer was posted by the actors on Thursday, June 13. For a mere two and a half minutes, viewers are introduced to Damon as an ex-Marine planning his first robbery with the help of a younger, more experienced team, which includes Harlow.

The movie, which was first revealed a year ago, is the continuation of Harlow’s acting career, which has drawn some “mixed” reviews. Although Harlow has received accolades for his performance, his previous film, a remake of White Men Can’t Jump, was heavily criticized for being very much inferior to the original. Additionally, Paul Walter Hauser, Ron Perlman, Hong Chau, Michael Stuhlbarg, Alfred Molina, and Ving Rhames make up the rest of the all-star cast of The Instigators. Since Doug Liman is also directing it, perhaps people will begin to believe all those claims that “Apple TV has the best content.” Someone someone instruct Netflix on how to accomplish this.

Jack Harlow Set To Star Alongside Matt Damon

In a 2022 interview, Harlow talked about getting his first acting job with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe. “You know, I did the work to get it. I put the time in with the script, I sat with it. I considered things,” he explained. He continued saying, “I tried to be egoless during the audition, take notes, do what I had to do, and it came…. I just want to kill it. I just want to be good, and I want to do everything I can to make it good.” Furthermore, Jack Harlow is now loking to expand and solidify himself in the movie world.

“There was an initial excitement about announcing it and just the buzz that comes with saying, ‘Look, I’m in a movie.’ Everybody [is] like, ‘Wow, that’s crazy.’ But after that, [the] dust settles,” the rapper continued. “It’s either just going to be there was an announcement you were in a movie and nothing else, or you get that, and it’s like, ‘Wow, and you brought it. You brought it.’ So, I’m starting to look at it how I look at the music, and it’s my first one, so I care a lot about it.” Overall, The Instiators looks like it’ll be a good time, and Jack harlow looks good in it.

During the filming of A24’s MMA biopic The Smashing Machine, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson suffered a right elbow injury, which he disclosed on social media. “A day without pain is like a day without sunshine, boy,” he said in his own words. “As you guys know, I’m filming a movie called ‘The Smashing Machine,’” Johnson said Tuesday in an Instagram video. “And anytime your film is called ‘The Smashing Machine,’ well, you’re kind of going to get smashed up.” Johnson continued by demonstrating the severity of the wound in the video.

Dwayne Johnson showed off the gruesome injury on his Instagram. The Rock said, “Look at that sucker right there. It looks like I have a cantaloupe in the bottom of my elbow. I got banged up pretty good today in our scenes, and there might be some soft tissue damage in there.” When TheWrap contacted A24 to see if Johnson’s injuries would affect the film’s production, the studio did not reply.

The Rock Has A Gruesome Elbow Injury

The good news is that Dwayne assured his fans that the pain is now bearable. However, he will require tests to ascertain the full degree of the damage after the inflammation subsides. Johnson has made it plain that he will persevere in the interim, maybe with a lot of assistance from his tequila brand. The drama The Smashing Machine is based on the life of renowned mixed martial artist Mark Kerr, who competed in the UFC during its brutally early days in the year 2000. The biopic explores his life as he battles addiction, success, love, and friendship.

Johnson takes on his most serious part and endeavors to take on the role that will usher in a new era for the superstar. Notably, Benny Safdie is directing the movie alone for the first time from a script he authored. Benny, along with his brother Josh, directed Uncut Gems, which starred Adam Sandler and NBA great Kevin Garnett. Overall, it looks like the injury won’t keep The Rock from completing the movie. Hopefully, the injury isnt as gruesome as it seems.

Jonathan Majors Set To Receive Hollywood Unlocked Award For Perseverance

The winners of the fourth annual Hollywood Unlocked Impact Awards have been revealed, and on June 21 in Los Angeles, Jonathan Majors will receive the perseverance award from the event. The organization states that the award is “given to an individual who has demonstrated that they will continue to aspire to inspire, no matter what adversity they face.” It follows Majors’ December conviction for third-degree reckless assault and harassment. In April, he received a sentence that included a 52-week in-person domestic abuse intervention program.

Majors has been out in public a few times recently, including walking the red carpet with girlfriend Meagan Good. However, the actor is expected to make rare remarks about the past year during an acceptance speech at an awards ceremony, as he has been facing charges related to an incident involving his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. After a jury found Jonathan Majors guilty of two counts of domestic abuse on December 18, 2023, he lost his management team. Additionally, he lost many film and television jobs and brand partnerships.

Even after being found guilty, Majors hasn’t avoided the limelight. The former Marvel actor has made a few public appearances in the last several months. Including many red-carpet events with his fiancée Meagan Good. Nevertheless, he hasn’t discussed his trial or the allegations against him much. So, the public may learn more about his thoughts via his acceptance speech for an award.

“I didn’t want to be around this guy because I felt he put the president at risk on that trip to South Africa because there were these young girls,” the actor said on “Piers Morgan Uncensored.” “We were like, ‘Who is this guy?’” In response to host Piers Morgan’s question, Spacey stated There were young girls on those flights.” In 2017, Spacey was charged with child molestation. Following the recent authentication of Epstein’s flight logs, which included Spacey’s name alongside Clinton’s, the actor’s private transactions came to light.

Kevin Spacey asserted on Tuesday that, although he “had become friends” with Clinton. This was before accepting that he had no clue who Epstein was when he boarded his plane as part of an “eight-day humanitarian trip.” The trip was to discuss AIDS prevention and awareness in 2002. “In 2015, I started seeing reports online, things on my Twitter account that I had flown to this guy Jeffrey Epstein’s island and I had abused young girls,” he told Morgan. “If you’d asked me in 2015 … did I know a guy named Jeffrey Epstein, I probably would’ve said, ‘No.’”

Spacey stated that although he “didn’t know him” and “never spent any time with him.” He has “since been able to go back and find out” that the aircraft used in 2002 “was owned by Jeffrey Epstein.” He also said that he and “this Maxwell woman” were on “some of those flights.” Spacey added, “I was with the Clinton Foundation people. That’s who I was with.” Spacey remembered concluding the trip with a visit to Buckingham Palace at Clinton’s invitation. The trip was to see Prince Andrew, who has a well-established relationship with Epstein. He denied having any knowledge of Maxwell, the man he was shown in the Throne Room with. Overall, Kevin Spacey revealed a lot of information about Epstein.

Smith claimed that he made his comments with Black folks hoping to be in Hollywood in mind. Michael Rainey Jr. looks visibly uncomfortable in a scenario where TyTy James’ sister seems to touch the Power Book II: Ghost star in the crotch area. After the incident, Michael Rainey Jr. spoke up. He remains stunned, and he describes the touching as an “unfortunate situation.” It’s unclear what will happen next.

The host of Thetylilshow spoke with his live chat audience about the incident. “Word to my mother, I’m trying to literally ignore the s### but I’m getting texts, the energy shifted and n##### just got up and left,” TyTy James said in a live video message. “At this point, everyone has seen the video circulating online,” Rainey, 23, wrote via his Instagram Stories on Monday, June 10. “I am still in shock and don’t fully know how to process what happened last night. This is an unfortunate situation that I do not condone in any way. I can’t take it lightly because I know I would be in serious trouble if the roles were reversed.” He continued, “The fact is, sexual assault is never okay, regardless of gender or status.” Michael Rainey Jr. continued in his statement. “We’re all human and we should respect each other. Most importantly, we should always respect ourselves.”

The host of the program, Tylil James, apologized for the “unacceptable” event and claimed a family member was to blame for it hours before Rainey made her statement. “After the actions that occurred during my stream last night, I would like to sincerely apologize to Michael and his family for what took place,” James, 24, wrote via his Instagram Stories on Monday. “My little sister was completely wrong and out of line. What she did was very inappropriate and unacceptable. I am truly embarrassed and disgusted by her actions.” All in all, it looks like the situation, while unfortunate, is resolved.

Sony invested $100 million in Bad Boys 4 production and more in marketing the movie to a worldwide audience. The film has already made its budget back and will likely approach the $200 Million the third film in the franchise achieved in 2020.

If there is any proof that everyone is over Will Smith’s Oscar slap on Chris Rock, it will be the box office return for Will’s new movie. Stephen A. Smith, who clearly did not see how much money Bad Boys 4 made, thinks people are not ready to watch Will Smith at the movies because he needs to apologize to the black community. 

Stephen A. initially said to the audience that he “will never stop being a Will Smith fan” and that he “in all likelihood” will be attending the premiere of the upcoming Bad Boys movie. However, Smith takes a more critical stance for most of his rant, which starts with the host highlighting a picture he and Will took together back when the actor was promoting his Concussion film. In short, Stephen A. Smith says he wants to see “an actual sit-down interview” focused on the Oscar-winning actor’s Chris Rock slap. According to Smith, Rock “will never get over that, ever” and is “damaged,” because of the incident. He added that the actor’s decision to slap the comedian “tarnished” the evening in question in 2022.
