Jay-Z Files Motion To Have Rape Accuser Reveal Her Identity

Jay-Z and his lawyer, Alex Spiro, are filing a new motion in regard to the rape allegation against him. According to TMZ, the latter sent it in Monday morning to a judge asking this Jane Doe to reveal her true identity moving forward. “Fair is fair. It is not consistent with justice, fairness, or the rules governing federal proceedings for the Plaintiff and her counsel to smear [Jay-Z]’s good name,” Spiro writes in the documents.

Additionally, the motion goes on to say that the rapper and Roc Nation leader has always kept an “impeccable reputation.” Moreover, Spiro makes it clear that Jay-Z has never been accused of or partaken in any sort of sexual misconduct. As we and many others have reported already. The Blueprint MC is currently facing a civil suit from this woman who alleges he raped her, along with Diddy, back in 2000. She claims this harrowing act allegedly took place at an after-party following the MTV Music Video Awards from that year.

Jay-Z And His Lawyer Are Looking To Level The Playing Field

Furthermore, the Jane Doe says she was just 13 at the time. There’s already been a lot of discourse about this bombshell news from fans online, as well as DJ Akademiks. He’s taken the major conspiracy angle, placing the blame for this particular instance at the feet of Kendrick Lamar. Drake also caught some flak, but most of his rant was targeted at the K. Dot. Additionally, there’s already been a tense back-and-forth between Jay-Z and Tony Buzbee, the lawyer who filed the suit on behalf of the alleged victim. The former believes its complete and utter “blackmail” and that the Houston legal rep is essentially going about this all wrong. Jay feels that if this really did happen that Buzbee should be filing a “criminal complaint” instead. Buzbee then fired back with a statement on Twitter (X) saying that Jay-Z’s effort to “bully and harass me and this plaintiff” are not working and that he’s happy to be taking this court.

Diddy Seeks Dismissal of Indictment After Accusing Prosecutors Of Violating His Right To Fair Trial

It goes without saying that Diddy is likely in for a long and intense legal battle. The Bad Boy founder is currently behind bars for charges related to alleged sex trafficking and racketeering. If found guilty, he could face a hefty prison sentence, and his trial is scheduled to begin in May 2025. Recently, however, his legal team filed a motion accusing the prosecution of violating his constitutional rights. They allege that prosecutors reviewed confidential legal notes photographed during a raid of his cell in October.

His team argues that this allegedly infringes upon his right to a fair trial. Diddy’s lawyer Alexandra A.E. Shapiro is asking U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian to dismiss the indictment entirely or disqualify prosecutors involved in reviewing the notes. The motion additionally asks for a Special Master to be appointed to review privileged materials, suppressions of the materials gathered during the aforementioned raid, and a court order preventing surveillance of Diddy’s communication with his lawyers.

Prosecutors insist that the raid was conducted due to security concerns and that Diddy was not targeted specifically. This is not the first demand Diddy and his legal team have made as of late, however. Earlier this month, they filed a motion asking that the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn grant him access to a laptop so he can prepare for his upcoming trial.

“Mr. Combs has still not been provided with the laptop despite numerous inquiries by defense counsel,” their filing reads, according to Meghann Cuniff. “Finally, this morning, the government informed defense counsel that after consultation with MDC counsel, Mr. Combs has two options related to his laptop: (1) he will only be provided with the laptop in the unit’s video-teleconference room during select times when legal staff is available and when that room is not otherwise being used during other inmates’ legal calls; or (2) he will only be provided with the laptop in the legal visiting room between the hours of 8-3:30pm. But, not both.”

DaBaby Wins Motion To Delay Battery Case In Which Victim Admitted To N-Word Usage

DaBaby has successfully gotten the trial for the battery lawsuit he’s facing delayed. Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Cherol J. Nellon made the ruling, this week, telling the rapper’s new attorney, Alec Rishwain, that he will only have a brief period of time to catch up on the case. Gary Pagar, who accused Baby of beating him up and robbing him during a music video shoot in Los Angeles, filed the lawsuit back in 2021.

“While I appreciate you are new to the case, everyone else is not. So if this is going to go to trial, it’s going to go soon,” Nellon told Rishwain. “This is a 2021 case. In the whole scheme of things, I just think this case needs to go to trial.” The latest update comes after DaBaby previously pleaded guilty to attacking Pagar in the related criminal case. In doing so, he was able to avoid jail time.

DaBaby hopes that he’ll be able to submit a video of Pagar saying the n-word during the confrontation as evidence for the trial, although the plaintiff’s team has attempted to block the move. “After defendant Jonathan Kirk punched Plaintiff Gary Pagar in the face without warning, knocking out his tooth and leaving him lying on the ground bleeding profusely; and after Mr. Kirk’s associates had pushed, taunted, threatened, and spat on Mr. Pagar, stolen his phone, and vandalized his house — after these events, Mr. Pagar uttered the ‘N-word,’” they admitted, arguing it was irrelevant to the assault in question.

DaBaby’s lawyers countered: “Plaintiff admits that there is no factual dispute as to whether he yelled the ‘N-word’ to Kirk yet conveniently seeks to argue that such a racial slur is irrelevant to the claim of battery. Diddy Labels Lil Rod’s Claims “Pure Fiction” In New Motion

Diddy is fighting back against Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones’ bombshell lawsuit, in which he accuses the Bad Boy mogul of sexually harassing, drugging, and threatening him. NBC News obtained a motion from Diddy’s legal team on Monday, in which they argue to dismiss Jones’ case. His attorney, Tyrone Blackburn, originally filed the lawsuit back in February. They’re seeking damages amounting to $30 million.

The motion claims that Jones’ lawsuit is rampant with lies. “Running to nearly 100 pages, it includes countless tall tales, shameless celebrity namedrops, and irrelevant images,” it reads. Diddy’s lawyer Erica Wolff, added in a statement: “Mr. Jones’s lawsuit is pure fiction — a shameless attempt to create media hype and extract a quick settlement. There was no RICO conspiracy and Mr. Jones was not threatened, groomed, assaulted, or trafficked. We look forward to proving — in a court of law — that all of Mr. Jones’s claims are made-up and must be dismissed.” They further accused Jones of trying to “generate media hype and exploit it to extract a settlement.”

In response, Blackburn said that he hasn’t gotten a chance to read through the motion in its entirety, but reaffirmed his support for his client. “This is clearly a billing exercise by individuals who are late to the game and are attempting to fill their pockets before their client is indicted,” he said. Blackburn is also representing April Lampros, who is suing Diddy for four alleged instances of sexual assault. Diddy has already denied those claims as well.

Kenneth Petty’s Sexual Assault Accuser Pushes For Him To Face Deposition

Jennifer Hough, who is suing Nicki Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, over an alleged 1994 rape, has filed a motion requesting a judge in the case increase the pressure on Petty to appear in person for a deposition. The move comes after her lawyer cut off her July 9 deposition while arguing that the questioning reached a point of harassment. Regardless, Hough says she sat down to be deposed for over six hours. The lawsuit centers around the allegation that Petty intimidated and threatened her after she refused to accept a bribe to recant her claims to help him get off the National Sex Offender Registry.

“Inexplicably, Defendant Petty did not appear for today’s deposition, and Plaintiff had to incur the cost of reserving a court report and setting aside time to prepare for the deposition. Plaintiff respectfully requests that the court force defendant Petty to pay for the cost associated with intentionally failing to appear for the deposition,” Hough’s lawyer wrote.

The filing continued: “The Plaintiff respectfully requests leave to file a motion to compel Defendant Petty to provide the outstanding document requests and appear in person for deposition. The Plaintiff also respectfully requests a 60-day extension for the end of fact discovery, as the defendants’ intentional delays and refusals to participate in depositions have harmed the Plaintiff’s ability to effectively complete fact discovery.”

Young Thug Trial: Judge Puts Proceedings On Hold As Recusal Motion Goes Under Review

Fulton County Superior Court Judge Ural Glanville has put the trial for Young Thug and YSL on hold after the defense filed a motion for him to recuse himself over a controversial ex-parte meeting with the prosecutors and star witness Kenneth Copeland. Glanville says the trial will not resume until a separate judge reviews the case and decides whether he should continue on the bench. Additionally, he’ll be releasing a full transcript of the meeting with Copeland “so everyone will have a chance to look at it.”

The move came as a surprise to both sides of the case. When the prosecution asked how long this will take, Glanville replied: “I don’t know. I don’t have anything to do with that.” The criminal trial has already become the longest-running in Georgia history, going on 18 months with no end in sight.

As for the controversial ex-parte meeting that caused the latest stall, Thug’s attorney, Brian Steel, became irate in court, earlier this month, after learning it took place. He accused the judge of working with the prosecution to allegedly coerce Copeland into testifying. In turn, Glanville placed him under arrest for contempt of court and took offense at the suggestion.

Megan Thee Stallion Wants Ex-Cameraman’s Sexual Harassment Lawsuit Dropped

In April of this year, Megan Thee Stallion’s former cameraman Emilio Garcia filed a lawsuit against the hitmaker, accusing her of sexual harassment and labor code violations. He alleged that she made him watch a sexual encounter between her and another woman on a 2022 trip to Ibiza. He was fired the following year. Meg and her team previously denied the allegations and are now looking to get the lawsuit dropped. According to court documents obtained by legal reporter Meghann Cuniff, she filed a motion for dismissal yesterday (June 25).

Meg’s team argues that Garcia should’ve filed his suit in New York instead of California, where neither of them are residents. “This case involves an alleged incident that occurred out of the country, an out-of-state plaintiff and an out-of-state defendant with no minimum contacts with California,” her lawyers wrote. “Defendant Megan Thee Stallion (Megan Pete or ‘Ms. Pete’) is a citizen of Florida. Plaintiff Emilio Garcia is a citizen of Texas. By Plaintiff’s own admission, his false tort claims against Ms. Pete arise from conduct that purportedly occurred in Ibiza, Spain.”

“Plaintiff’s meritless labor claims relate to a contract that expressly classifies him as an independent contractor and provides for New York law and the exclusive jurisdiction of New York courts,” they also added. “Put simply, California has no jurisdiction over Ms. Pete in this case and her Motion should be granted.” The judge has yet to rule on Meg’s latest motion.

YNW Melly Wants YNW Bortlen & His Girlfriend’s Phone Calls Excluded From Retrial

YNW Melly has been behind bars since 2019 when he was arrested and accused of murdering two of his associates, YNW Juvy and YNW Sakchaser. The rapper was charged with two counts of first-degree murder, and first went on trial last summer. It was ruled a mistrial after the jury failed to come to a unanimous decision. If convicted, he faces life in prison or the death penalty.

Now, he continues to await his retrial, which was initially slated for October of last year. It’s since seen multiple delays. It remains unclear exactly when he’ll be retried, but in the meantime, his attorneys have been hard at work. Earlier this week, for example, his team filed a motion to exclude his co-defendant YNW Bortlen’s phone conversations with his girlfriend Juneviah Molina from the upcoming retrial.

According to them, the conversations between Bortlen and Molina include nothing but “small talk.” His attorneys claim they’re “irrelevant, inadmissible hearsay, and lack an evidentiary basis to be used against” Melly. Their motion also argues that YouTube videos featuring 1090 Jake should be prohibited. Since December of last year, prosecutors have been fighting to use Melly’s phone records, emails, and social media posts as evidence in the upcoming retrial. They’re also looking to use a 20-minute documentary about his rise to fame. Allegedly, it shows him holding a weapon at various times and briefly mentions the deaths of Juvy and Sakchaser.

Last month, Melly was moved to a new facility for the first time since his 2019 arrest, and now resides at the Paul Rein Detention Facility in Pompano Beach, FL. He’ll remain there until the retrial. Diddy Wants Select Claims In Sexual Assault Lawsuit Dismissed

It’s no secret that Diddy’s been wrapped up in a great deal of legal problems as of late. The Bad Boy Records founder is facing several lawsuits accusing him of sexual assault and other alleged crimes. In addition to that, he’s currently at the center of a federal sex trafficking investigation. Two of the mogul’s mansions were raided by Homeland Security last month, putting him and his family up for more public scrutiny than ever.

Now, in one small attempt to fire back, his legal team filed a motion earlier this week to dismiss some of the claims made in Joi Dickerson-Neal’s lawsuit. She accuses Diddy of drugging and sexually assaulting her in 1991 and filed her suit in November. His team is arguing that he can’t be sued for allegedly breaking laws that weren’t in place at the time.

The motion lists statutes, including those involving revenge porn and human trafficking, that weren’t around until years after the alleged assault. Diddy’s team is asking for all claims under these statutes to be dismissed with prejudice. With that being said, they’ve also continuously denied the allegations. “This last-minute lawsuit is an example of how a well-intentioned law [New York State’s Adult Survivors Act] can be turned on its head. Ms. Dickerson’s 32-year-old story is made up and not credible. Mr. Combs never assaulted her and she implicates companies that did not exist. This is purely a money grab and nothing more,” Diddy said previously via a spokesperson.

Lil Scrappy Accuses Bambi Of Telling Their Kids They’ll “Have A New Daddy” In Resurfaced Motion

Earlier this week, it was revealed that Bambi has accused her ex-husband Lil Scrappy of violating their divorce agreement. She alleges that there’s a clause in the agreement that prohibits either party from allowing their significant others to post photos of their children. It remains unclear exactly what significant other Bambi was referring to, however, he later appeared to clap back.

Scrappy went on to post a sweet video of Erica Dixon and other family members celebrating his daughter’s birthday, urging his followers to make the most of “happy times.” This, along with fueling rumors of a reunion between the two L&HH stars, left some fans thinking he was shading Bambi, as their children were also seen in the video.

This is far from the first time there’s been drama between the former lovers, however. In fact, amid the chatter surrounding Bambi’s recent accusations, fans have dug up an old court motion from Scrappy, in which he alleges that she did the same. Moreover, he accuses her of showing up to his home unannounced and making belittling statements about him to their kids, including that they’ll “have a new daddy.” The complaint was filed in October of 2023.

“[Bambi] continues to violate the [Scrappy’s] right to enjoy his residence free from interference. [Bambi] has engaged in willful acts of harassment by visiting the [Scrappy’s] home without his consent in direct violation of the Court Order,” the complaint reportedly read. “[Bambi’s] words are not only disgusting; yet not made in the best interests of the children.” Scrappy also took issue with Bambi publishing a children’s book using their kids’ likenesses.
