Meek Mill Recalls His Mom Bailing Him Out On Mother’s Day

Meek Mill paid tribute to his mom on Twitter, on Sunday, in honor of Mother’s Day by recalling a time she paid his bail while he was locked up. He explained that he needed to come up with $9,500 and none of his friends were coming through. “When I was locked up my bail was 9500 most these so call homies didn’t put up anything … my mom had to throw a fish fry to raise the money to get me home!” Meek wrote. “Happy Mother’s Day love you 4L and after … happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers gone.”

While many fans expressed their support for Meek in the replies, many of the top responses poked fun at the Philadelphia rapper. “Bro took a Mother’s Day tweet and made it about his homies being fake,” one user wrote. Another added: “Bro couldn’t just say Happy Mother’s Day like a regular mf.”

Meek previously made headlines this year for buying his mother a house. “I bought my mom her 3rd brand new house sep, 29th 2023 fully cashed out no mortgage … 2023 was slow for me too!” he wrote in a post from January. He shared a screenshot of a text message mentioning a wire of nearly $1 million for the property as well. Meek has claimed to change upwards of $250K for a feature, so the figure shouldn’t have been too steep for him. Check out his latest tribute for his mom below.

DC Young Fly Pays Tribute To Jacky Oh On Mother’s Day

DC Young Fly shared a tribute to his late partner, Jacky Oh, on Instagram, on Sunday, in honor of Mother’s Day. In doing so, he posted a picture of the two of them posing together with the caption: “Happy Mothers Day baby !!! Miss u like krazy !! Jus wanna talk hold ya kiss ya love ya let u kno im here…” Ryan Garcia, Lil Duval, and more celebrities shared messages of support in the comments section.

Oh passed away at the age of 32, last year. The Miami-Dade Medical Examiner ruled her cause of death as being “accidental due to complications from cosmetic surgery.” She and DC met on the set of Wild N’ Out back in 2015.

It isn’t the first time DC has reflected on how great of a mother Oh was since her passing. Last June, DC shared a lengthy tribute to her on Instagram. “You are the GREATEST MOTHER I KNOW your soul was beautiful Yu always wanted the best for others and I admired how our family love each other!!! Never had to worry about our kids loving each other cause you were on top of Dat!!!,” he wrote at the time. “… Love you forever and our kids are super strong they helpin me wit my tranquility no Kap!!!!! Diddy wished his late partner, Kim Porter, a happy Mother’s Day in a sweet tribute post on Instagram, on Sunday. Sharing a series of photos of her, Diddy wrote in the caption: “HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY KIM! We miss you! We love you! And today we celebrate you! Love you!”

In the comments section, many fans referenced the various alleged sexual misconduct lawsuits the Bad Boy mogul has been facing in recent months. In response, several of his fans came to his defense. “I wish one day everyone can just be positive and let God do the judging,” one user wrote. “It’s a lot of y’all on here that need to be questioning your mammy and daddy them bout their skeletons.” Another added: “It’s amazing how many people think they know everything, more than likely don’t know anything.”

Diddy and Porter dated on-again-off-again for 13 years prior to her death. Together, they share three children: twin daughters, Jessie James and D’Lila, and son, Christian Combs. Porter passed away on November 16, 2018, at the age of 47. “For the last three days I’ve been trying to wake up out of this nightmare,” Diddy wrote on Twitter at the time. “But I haven’t. I don’t know what I’m going to do without you baby. I miss you so much. Today I’m going to pay tribute to you, I’m going to try and find the words to explain our unexplainable relationship.” Nearly two months later, the Los Angeles coroner’s office confirmed the cause of death as pneumonia.

Ja Rule And Jay-Z Collaborated On Mother’s Day Event In NYC

Ja Rule and Jay-Z are industry legends. The former has, admittedly, had more business drama over the last decade that Hova. Remember Fyre Fest? We digress. The rapper’s decision to link up with Jay-Z’s REFORM Alliance is an inspired one, especially given the cause that both men decided to support. Jay and Ja combined their efforts to put on a Mother’s Day luncheon for moms who also happen to be ex-cons. The luncheon was held Tuesday, May 7, in New York City.

Ja Rule took lead on the event. He gathered an estimated 40 different women to come and reflect on how their time behind bars affected their approach to motherhood. The rapper discussed his reasoning for putting the Mother’s Day luncheon with Billboard. He freely admitted that him and his mother had a difficult time paying rent when he was younger, and recalls feeling helpless as a result. “When we were going through an eviction at one of our apartments, this particular time it kind of broke my mom the way I never seen before, and she was crying,” he recalled. “In that moment, I feel like I became a man because I understood the assignment, as they say.”

This is a far cry from the Ja Rule who attacked Eminem’s mother on the diss song “Loose Change.” Ja went at Slim Shady during his prime in the 2000s, and dropped what remains one of the cruelest bars ever written. “Em, you claim your mother’s a crackhead and Kim is a known slut,” he spit. “So what’s Hailie gon’ be when she grows up?”. It’s no wonder things remain frigid between Ja and Eminem to this day. The New York rapper has a better relationship with Jay-Z, despite also having tension with him back in the day.

Ja Rule was actually supposed to be part of a supergroup with Hov and DMX in the 1990s. An album never materialized, however, as all three rappers would go on beef with one another. “We knew what was going on, but it was kind of like pulling teeth to get it done,” he told HipHopDX. “Jay and X, you couldn’t get them in the same room together… I’d known them before they were who they were.” Ja and Jay are committed to making a positive change in the present, and they’re seemingly doing a good job.

Amid surmounting backlash, she posted a statement copping to the photo being edited on Twitter. “Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing,” she said. “I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day. C.” The drama comes as the Princess of Wales’ whereabouts have been the subject of numerous conspiracy theories in recent weeks following her abdominal surgery in January.

Nick Cannon Admits He Mixed Up Mother’s Day Cards: “I Tried My Best”

Nick Cannon says that he mixed up the Mother’s Day cards he made for the women in his life, last weekend. Reflecting on the holiday during Monday’s episode of his new radio show The Daily Cannon, he admitted that he gave the wrong cards out to different mothers of his many children.

“I tried my best, I really did,” he said on the show. He added: “To show people how you really feel, write it down. And I was doing handwritten messages from the heart. So then as I’m writing the handwritten message, I get the cards mixed up. And then so when one baby mama reads the card about how I feel about the other baby mama…” From there, he joked, “See if I would just got some generic s–t that everybody else got, that wouldn’t have happened.”

Fans were not happy with the light-hearted tone Cannon was taking while recounting the story. Commenting on his Instagram post of the clip, one fan wrote: “The absolute crazy thing is he’s talking to a baby mama about it…and she’s sitting there smiling like she’s not hurt.” Another added: “I have so many negative thoughts about Nick after hearing this.
