Pewee Longway Returns With New Album “Who Am I?”

One of the OGs of trap rap is Pewee Longway. Growing up in Atlanta, Georgia he familiarized himself with all of the legends of his time and now he continues to carry the subgenre forward. Of course, he has learned so much from his mentor Gucci Mane, who is undoubtedly one of those founding fathers. Pewee famously signed with Guwop’s 1017 label right before he went to prison.

He released many mixtapes and other projects throughout that time. While he is not making a lot of noise in the headlines as of late, that does not mean people are not eager to hear more music. It has been a year since the release of his last album, Live a Lil. On top of that, Peewee’s first solo single did not come until late August.

MIKE Drops Massive 24-Track Project “Burning Desire”

Abstract New York rapper MIKE is easily having one of the best years out of anyone right now. While some of our readers might not know who he is, MIKE has been dominant in the underground scene. He has landed on numerous projects of similar artists in his lane. One of which was the highly-anticipated release of Earl Sweatshirt and The Alchemist’s collaborative effort, VOIR DIRE.

However, his greatest moment, at least right now from critics and HNHH alike is his recent effort with The Alchemist. It came out just a couple of weeks ago and he and his rapping partner, Wiki, were the perfect complements to the sonic backdrops. Now, MIKE might be competing with himself at this point with his album, Burning Desire.

Westside Gunn Shares Final Album “And Then You Pray For Me”

In what Westside Gunn believes is his best work yet, his highly anticipated album And Then You Pray For Me, is finally here. “It’s something for everybody. It is enough to be a double album,” Westside Gunn said in an interview with Rolling Stone. This highly-anticipated album is filled with a star-studded line up of big-name features. Some of these features include Denzel Curry, JID, Tay Keith, Conway the Machine, DJ Drama, and more. This project serves follow-up to his 2020 hit album Pray for Paris. However, the excitement surrounding this release is tinged with melancholy, as it’s reportedly going to be Westside Gunn’s final album.

Moreover, the rapper and producer himself has confirmed this news in a recent interview with Rolling Stone. The news comes much to the disappointment of his devoted fanbase. Speaking about his reasons for stepping away from the studio album scene, Westside Gunn explained, “making a studio album, I’m done with all that. It’s back to dumping until I don’t want to dump no more. I’m going to have fun now. It’s no more pressure. This album was pressure to me.” With 21 tracks of pure hip-hop, the album has something for everyone throughout it.

And with an album that showcases some of his best tracks, fans definitely have high hopes for And Then You Pray For Me. However, despite the disappointment that accompanies the news of his departure from studio albums, there’s no denying that Westside Gunn’s legacy will continue to thrive.

Subsequently, he also mentioned that this doesn’t signal his departure from rap entirely. “I’m not saying I won’t come with a five-song EP with Madlib or I won’t do a seven-song EP with Alchemist or I won’t rap,” he said. “I’ll do all of that.” As HNHH previously reported, Gunn mentioned that he wants to spotlight new artists and just have more fun with music. In addition, let us know what you think of the project!

Some of the guest appearances throughout the project include Travis Scott, Don Toliver, Future, Cardi B, Mango Foo, Latto, Young Nudy, and Chloe. “I stepped outside of the box, like I said, and I took my time and didn’t rush the product,” he continued. “I’m not settling for the past. I want progression through the future. I wanted to, especially with this project, progress as an artist and not bottle my talents like dancing. That’s why in my videos, I’ve been bringing those elements out of me because I feel like the more you entertain the people, and the more you show people who you are, the more they accept you and follow your lead.”

Moreover, Offset is aware that timing is often the key to success. Also during the interview, he shared that they felt pressured to release his project last year but ultimately decided against it. “I felt like I was supposed to drop last year, and it would’ve been the wrong time. Peezy Enlists Ty Dolla $ign, Larry June, BabyTron, And More For New Album “GHETTO”

Peezy’s strong year continues with the release of his brand new album, GHETTO. It is the Detroit MC’s 22nd (!) project to date, showing how quick and hard-working he is to get material out to his fans. This fast turnaround is nothing new for Peezy, considering he dropped five tapes in 2017. For 2023, the rapper already has two other LPs out now.

The first of them was a collaborative effort with Baltimore rapper Yg Teck on February 17. That was a 15-track album. The second was a shorter effort, standing at just eight cuts. Interestingly though, it is also called GHETTO, which was put out on April 21. This newer GHETTO is more of a full-fleshed-out set of songs. None of them from the one back in April appear in this October edition.
